Chapter 5:
(Chapter 5 on a Five Nights at Freddy's fanfic! Serendipitous, no? Anyways, we kick things off from the security office. I will say this, most things will play out the same like they do in the games, each hour acting kinda like some mini arcs throughout the story. I'd say chapter, but I can get burnt out writing something huge as that. Anyways, I know I don't have to write headcanon voices, but it helps imagine how the characters sound and act sometime, I'll try to think of one for Asher(Cassie's Dad) later. Enjoy the chapter)
Sammy was visibly shaking with fear with what was going on. The animatronics—the robot friends Papa always described as nice—were now out to get him. Monty was banging on the door, "You boys're in so much trouble for stayin' out this late…" The robo-gator said. Sammy put his mask on and covered himself, staying close to Gregory. "Well done, boys. You have found a security office, you should be quite safe there." Freddy said over the Fazwatch. The robo-bear explained that the doors were designed to keep their highly trained security staff members safe in the event of an emergency.
…As long as the doors stay closed, and they would, Freddy had said
…As long as there is power to the doors…
Gregory was glad he shut the doors, but went to check the battery. "F-Freddy, the power is only at 15% and they're pounding on the door! How are we going to get out of here?" Gregory said, Sammy subtly started to cry.
"Do not panic, Gregory. You should see an interface on the security desk. Hold on, I will make it accessible to you…there. You can now activate security protocols." Gregory then looked on the desk and pressed the red button. "Your Fazwatch is now connected to the security camera system. Check the map on your Fazwatch, Gregory." Freddy said, Gregory pulling out a map.
"Okay, Monty's still at us, but where are Roxy and Chica…?" Gregory said, keeping an eye on the door's battery power. "Okay, no one's on this door! Sammy, come on!" Gregory said, grabbing the boy's hand and running through the door. Gregory could hear Sammy's sobs from under his mask, "Stop crying and let's get out of here!" Gregory said, leading Sammy through a hall.
Gregory stopped when he could hear metal footsteps. "U-Uh, in here!" Gregory jumped into a nearby empty garbage cart, helping Sammy lift himself into the bin. They both covered their mouths to make sure they wouldn't make noise, when the footsteps grew closer, they felt their hearts pounding. "Sweeties, this area is off-limits. Why don't you come on out?" Chica called out, and though she sounded friendly, just the slight hint of malice hid in her voice.
Sammy was shutting his eyes under his mask, scared that they were going to be seen. The boys waited for Glamrock Chica to walk further and further away.
Gregory took a breath, "Sammy, you okay?" Gregory asked, worried. "I-I want Papa…" Sammy said, sobbing through a scared and sad voice. Gregory looked sad and then looked around, silently. "Okay, Chica's gone. Let's hurry and go. Bonnie and Freddy will meet us in the front, hopefully." Gregory said, still keeping weary of his surroundings.
The boys walk silently through the halls, and made sure to stay quiet. They were close, when they made their way back to the entrance. Gregory was close to getting out, and Sammy was looking back for his dad. "Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex is now closed. Initializing nighttime protocols…" an automated voice said, and then the boys ran to reach the doors before they closed! "No, no! Wait! We're still here!" Gregory shouted, quietly.
Gregory lifted his arm and spoke into his Fazwatch's mic, "Freddy, we-we-we didn't make it." Gregory stuttered, scared for his mind. "How unfortunate, Gregory. But do not worry, there is still hope. You should be able to escape when the security doors open at 6AM. Until then, keep moving and try not to draw attention to yourselves." Freddy advised, "If there is another way out, I will help you find it. I promise. Bonnie and I are currently looking for you right now, find a hiding spot close to the main entrance."
Gregory took a deep breath and looked a little frustrated. "Okay, Sammy, let's find a place to hide, okay?" Gregory asked, "O-Okay." Sammy said, "Take the mask off, it's creeping me out." Sammy looked down and pulled off the Teal Mask, the boy was shown to be visibly crying and shaking for his life. Gregory saw that the kid was scared, too. If this was Cassie's cousin, he needed to keep him safe. "Hey, don't cry, okay? We're gonna be fine." Gregory said, trying to encourage the boy. Sammy took a deep breath, "W-We're gonna be fine." Sammy repeated Gregory's words, telling himself that they'll be okay.
"Come on, let's head somewhere and look for a flashlight and a good hiding spot." Gregory said, keeping watch. Sammy looked over and saw a janitor cleaning robot. "Let's steer clear from the staff bots, last time I was near one, it sounded an alarm." Gregory said, "It does? Wait, were you running from that security lady from before, at the birthday party?" Sammy asked. Gregory looked to his side and didn't say a word, "Look, let's just stay away from those security bots." Gregory reminded him, "O-Okay." Sammy said.
The boys looked over and saw a gift-shop after the entry stands. Sammy thankfully had the two passes on from earlier. "Oh, you have passes! Good, let's see if they can get us through those subway thingies." Gregory said, walking ahead. When they got there, "Okay, getting them." Sammy handed one of the passes to Gregory and they scanned them.
They still had worked, "Yes!" Sammy said, walking through the stand. The boy gave Gregory the other pass that he had, when Gregory scanned it, it showed itself to have worked! "Okay, we don't have to worry about that for now." Gregory said, taking note of the nearby gift shop. "That's our best bet. Let's look for somewhere to hide up there." Gregory said, "Did Papa and Uncle Freddy make it yet?" Sammy asked, looking around for his dad and uncle. "Freddy, we made it into the past the entry point." Gregory said, "Well done, superstars! You should have access to the Lobby. I see you do not have current access to the atrium or the pizzeria. You can find an upgrade machine in customer service up ahead." Freddy explained over the Fazwatch.
Tons of security bots were searching the Lobby for the two boys, and they could see Chica looking around alongside them. "Here's the plan, wait until that it has its back turned, then we run for the escalator." Gregory said, Sammy nodded, unsure of how many were searching for them.
They waited for the front security bot to move and when its back was turned. Gregory nodded toward Sammy and grabbed his hand. The two boys had made a run for it. They hid quietly, behind the fountain. "I see the console! Let's go." Sammy said, seeing a huge mechanical box.
The two had made it to the console. "Sammy, keep watch. I'll handle this. Hand me your pass." Gregory placed the passes in the dispenser while Sammy kept an eye on the Chica and the security bots. Sammy was still confused, his supposed Auntie Chica was now eating garbage. "Ah! Freddy, the machine ate our passes!" Gregory said.
"Perhaps there is a way to hack it back out. Boys, try Glamrock Gifts. They have lots of trinkets, knick-knacks and doodads." Freddy suggested, Gregory looked at the nearby sign that gave warning about magnets near the machine. Sammy looked around, "Over there!" He said, looking for any signs of danger. "We're not clear, Chica's still walking around." Gregory looked around for a place to hide. "Uh, here. Let's hide in the Photo Booth." The two boys hid themselves, quietly shutting the curtain to not attract unwanted attention.
"Shh!" Gregory said, trying to stay quiet and telling Sammy to do the same. They waited until Chica was no longer seen by Glamrock Gifts and was walking into the cafe nearby.
Sammy looked at the ticket, reading that it said: "Good for entrance to the lobby shops. Upgrade options available at Customer Service. Also, good for one free prize from Glamrock Gifts, while supplies last." Sammy's interest piqued when he saw the free prize info. "Hey, Gregory, why don't we go get the free prize, too?" Sammy asked, "Really?" Gregory asked, annoyed of where the boy's priorities were. "Oh, you had one with a free prize ticket? I wonder what the free prize is." Freddy said, childishly curious. Gregory had lost to majority. "Okay, we'll look for the free gift." Gregory said, opening the curtain when Chica left.
"Okay, we're clear! Be ready for any kind of trouble." Gregory said, keeping a lookout for any security bots. "So, I should probably ask, but why are you here, Sammy?" Gregory asked, "Papa wanted to see his friends, so he drove here." Gregory looked confused, "Wh-What?" Gregory was confused, trying to imagine Bonnie trying to drive a car.
"Why do you think Bonnie is your dad? I'm confused…" Gregory asked, "I think Papa said Uncle Asher took him to repair him, and I was found by Uncle Asher's front door. Papa took care of me after that…" Sammy explained. "Cassie's dad?" Gregory asked, remembering that his friend's dad worked here. "I…guess that makes sense. Sort of." Gregory said, looking around at all the gifts. Maybe they could find something that could short circuit that machine. "Nothing here, come on, let's check the upper floor." Gregory said, looking around for the nearby stairway. "Over here!" Gregory whispered, calling Sammy over.
The two went up and looked around for the free prize if it was still here. Then, they found a little windup present. "This must be it." Sammy said, winding up the box. "Sammy, do it quieter!"Gregory quietly shouted, keeping watch. "The present shot out with confetti. "Freddy, we got the free gift. Huh…it's a crappy Mr. Hippo fridge magnet? Lame…" Gregory said, Sammy looked confused, "I am so sorry, boys. I am so sorry…" Freddy sounded a little ashamed the present wasn't something better. "But I guess we'll find good use for it at that machine. Come on!" Gregory said, the boys making their Customer Service console.
When they made their way back to the machine, Gregory took a breath. Gregory stuck the magnet onto the machine, it short-circuited and dispensed a new pass. "It worked! The magnet scrambled the machine!" Gregory looked at the pass, "Wait, what's this?" Gregory looked at the pass, "Oh, it's for the Daycare." Sammy said, Gregory looked a little disappointed. "That is great news! Bonnie and I will meet you at the Daycare! The entrance is on the second floor balcony." Gregory nodded, "Got it." Gregory then tapped to check the cameras, "Chica's near the entrance, we're gonna need to head through the Faz-Pad." Gregory said, heading their way towards the Superstar Daycare.
(Meanwhile)
Freddy could see that Bonnie was getting frantic, "Okay, we're meeting them in the daycare, I just hope they're finding a good place to hide for right now." Bonnie said, "Bonnie, do not panic. Gregory and Sammy will be all right." Freddy said, noting that Bonnie never panicked before. "Why would the others hunt them? We wouldn't HUNT any stray kiddos down, and Sammy…I hope he isn't too afraid…" Bonnie said, seemingly to himself. The carefree prankster Freddy knew 7 years ago wasn't right in front of him. This was a regular worried father, Freddy realized Bonnie had changed in the time he was away. Freddy placed his hands on his best friend's shoulders.
"Bonnie, look at me. Do. Not. Panic." Freddy tried to calm him down. "Freddy, my son and Gregory are being hunted down by OUR FRIENDS! We need to hurry before they get to them." Bonnie wasn't taking nonsense right now. Freddy could see that Bonnie acted more serious. "I understand your worrying, but if we act hastily, it could endanger the boys." Freddy explained, Bonnie pretended to sigh. "Okay, this robot's taking a deep breath." Bonnie said, now pretending to inhale, then exhale. "Okay…sorry, Freddy. Let's just hurry." Bonnie said, still worried for his son's safety. "Please be okay, kiddo." he thought to himself.
(Later)
Sammy and Gregory managed to make through the pickup hallway. The place was hardly lit, only following to the setup of led lights. "Okay, we should be safe for now. Once we head through the daycare, we'll be back with Freddy and Bonnie." Gregory said, seeing that there were no security bots nearby. "How're you feeling?" Gregory asked, remembering that Sammy was crying. "I'm okay…Let's just hurry." Sammy said, trying to keep quiet. Gregory smiled slightly and nodded, the boys running into the next room.
This room was lit, and now…music was playing over a speaker somewhere, but the thing that stood out to Sammy was the golden looking statues of two characters he's never seen before. One having its head resemble the sun, while the other the moon. The moon one had a nightcap on, too. "Whoa…who are these guys?" Sammy asked, "I think they're some sorta Daycare robots? I never came through here, but Cassie told me about them."
"Gregory, we are unable to reach you both. Check the Daycare's security desk for a security badge. That should let us in." Freddy said, Gregory looked through the window looking into the play area of the Daycare. "Okay, we'll meet by the door. Come on, Sammy." Gregory told, before looking at their current way into the play area. "Wait, is the entrance…a slide?" He asked, Sammy perked up a little, deciding to lighten up. "Okay, I'll go first!" Sammy smiled faintly, through his fears and sadness, putting on his mask and sliding down. The boy wanted to enjoy sliding down a slide into the cool Daycare Cassie told him about!
Sammy dropped into a ball pit, full of so many bright and shiny colors. Sammy lightly giggled, the boy looked back to the slide for Gregory. Gregory slid down. "Wait up for me, next time." Gregory said, sternly and annoyed.
"Sorry, come on, let's go get the badge." Sammy apologized, the two walking through the ball pit held together by castle-like walls. But they stopped in their tracks when they heard some metal clinging. Atop the balcony, the animatronic resembling the sun danced around and stopped. "Ho ho ho!" He laughed, before putting his hands together and jumping into the ball pit, like diving into a swimming pool!
Gregory and Sammy freaked out, "R-Run…!" Sammy said, trying to get back up on the slide. "Sammy, calm down. Listen, we need to get to that desk…" Gregory tried to think, wondering where the animatronic got to. "Let's move slowly, he'll be less likely to find us if we don't make noise." Sammy looked around, the sun animatronic was nowhere to be seen, no sense of emergence from the colorful ball pit.
Gregory and Sammy tried to move slowly and steadily, limiting the noise they were making while walking. "HELLO! New friends, you're both sure up late, are we having a slumber party?! Where are the rest of your friends?" The animatronic asked, picking up the boy in the teal mask it and spinning around. "Wh-Whoa!" Sammy said, slightly scared. "Wowzers! What a super-duper cool mask!" The animatronic said, "Th-Thank you?" Sammy said, the animatronic gently putting Sammy down. "Here ya go. Let me get your other friend." He said, going to bring Gregory out of the ball pit, "Wha-Let me go!"
"Now now, no need to be cranky, starlight!" The animatronic said, placing Gregory on the floor. "So, I'm Sun, but you can call me Sunny! It's super duper nice to meet you!" Sunny introduced himself, spinning around and raising his hands in the air. Sammy giggled, finding the animatronic fun, "It's nice to meet you. I'm Sammy." Sammy said, "Sammy and Sunny. Hey, we have similar sounding names!" Sunny said, Sammy giggled. "What about you, new friend? What's your name?" Sunny asked, Gregory somehow had the feeling this one wasn't trying to trick them.
"Gregory." He said to him, "Well, Sammy and Gregory, what do you wanna do for the slumber party? We can finger-paint, tell stories, drink Fizzy-Faz until our heads EXPLODE and stay up all night!" Sunny listed some suggestions, hyperactively. "There is only one rule…Keep the lights ON. ON! ON!" Sunny sounded particularly worried about that last part, which startled the boys. Gregory took a breath, "Sorry, Sunny, but we're not here to play. Freddy said we had to open the door for him with a security badge on the desk. Do you know where it is?" Sunny thought about it, "I don't know, starlight. I don't want you two to get in trouble for touching stuff off limits." Sunny questioned why Freddy would ask two boys to take the security badge.
"Sunny, please? It's an emergency." Sunny tried to understand what Sammy had meant by that, he didn't seem like he was lying. The boy looked genuinely scared. "Okay, don't you worry, starlights. The security badge should be in that little Freddy box on the desk." Sunny explained, reading his clock. "And since most of the lights are off in the Pizzaplex during this time, go ahead and take that flashlight, too." Sunny suggested. Sammy hugged Sunny, happily relieved. "Thank you, Sunny! Next time, we'll have a slumber party!" Sammy said, Sunny looked excited, "Okay! That'll be so much fun!" Sunny said, Gregory slightly smiled…but then it faded. "Sammy, come on. Freddy and your dad are waiting." Gregory decided that they should focus on getting out of here.
"Okay." Sammy then said, before tripping over the blocks. "Oh, are you okay, Sammy?" Sunny asked, "I'm okay. Sorry about the blocks…" Sammy apologized, "You head with Gregory, I'll pick this up…Oh, which one's the bottom, where is the top? Oh, clean up! Clean up!" Sunny said, trying to stack the blocks. Sammy walked up to Gregory and the desk. "Okay, you grab the flashlight, I'll grab the badge." Gregory said, "Okay!" Sammy said, grabbing the nearby flashlight. Gregory opened the little box, "Okay, now we can—"
Before the boys could leave, the lights in the daycare went out. "No! No! Boys, you need to run! Lights on! Lights on! I warned you! I warned you!" Sunny was actively freaking out, now! The animatronic was holding his head, growling in pain! "Sunny, what's wrong?!" Sammy asked, worried about him. "…Naughty boys…Naughty boys…" a much more sinister voice spoke from. Instead of the bright and cheerful Sunny, came forth a sinister and punishing moon. "It's past your bedtimes. You must be punished." Moon jumped on the ledge, "Nighty-night…" Moon said in a dark, sing-songy voice.
(And here we are at the end of the chapter! I hope you guys liked it, and I can't wait to write more stuff with Sunny! I feel like he's the easiest character I can write, because of how childish he is. Over all though, this was mostly just a running away sorta chapter, but I hope that's fine. Anyways, stay strong and awesome! Hope you guys had a Happy Easter/Resurrection Day!)
