Seth and Eva were on their way. Along it, they caught a Rattata and Pidgey.
Seth and Eva loved looking at the sights, and were amazed at the Pokemon. Just then, someone called out.
"Seth!"
They turned to see Jennifer.
"Mom, what are you doing here?"
"I came here because the Professor and I needed to give you something before you left."
Jennifer then noticed Eva.
"Oh, how cute, an Eevee. Is this the one you got from the professor?"
"Actually, I caught her. She was the first one I caught, and my starter too."
"You caught her? That's impressive."
"I decided to nick name her Eva."
"Eva? It's a lovely name."
"VOOIIIII!"
"So, what was it that you needed Mom?" asked Seth.
"Well, first off, you need this if you're going to travel."
Seth received a town map from Jennifer.
"That's a map of the Kanto Region. You don't want to get lost, now do you?"
"No, that would be bad."
Rattata, the Mouse Pokémon. A Normal Type.
"Now, here's what the Professor has for you."
Seth received a Pokedex from Jennifer.
"Wow, what is it?" asked Seth.
"It's called a Pokedex. It gathers information about the Pokemon you catch."
"That's so cool! Thanks mom!"
They hugged, and parted ways.
"Love you mom!"
"I love you too Seth!"
Soon, they reached Viridian City. Seth looked at the Gym, but it was closed.
"Well that sucks Primape Balls," said Seth.
"Voi."
Seth then went a head and looked at the entries he had on the Pokémon he had caught.
Rattata, the Mouse Pokémon. A Normal Type. Bites anything when it attacks. Small and very quick, it is a common sight in many places. Its incisors continue growing until its death. If its Trainer doesn't offer it a file to gnaw on, it will gnaw on door frames, table legs, and so on.
Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. A Normal/Flying Type. A common sight in forests and woods. It is docile and prefers to avoid conflict. If disturbed, however, it can ferociously strike back. It rapidly flaps its wings in the grass, stirring up a dust cloud that drives insect prey out into the open.
The duo headed off, and soon, they ran into a Nidoran. Nidoran is a small, quadrupedal, mammalian Pokémon. It is pinkish purple with darker patches. It has large, spiny ears with teal insides, oversized front teeth, and red eyes. Its back is covered with three lines of large spines that can release potent poisons if threatened. The center line of spines is taller than the other two. The size of the long, pointed horn on its forehead is indicative of the strength of its venom. Nidoran is a male-only species.
Seth threw a Poke ball at it, and it shook three times, and clicked.
GOTCHA! Nidoran was caught!
Seth picked up the Poke Ball, and looked at the Data he collected.
Nidoran, the Poison Pin Pokemon It stiffens its ears to sense danger. The larger its horns, the more powerful its secreted venom.
"That's cool!" said Seth.
"Eevoi!"
They headed down the path, and saw a large building.
"What is this?"
"That's the Pokemon League," said a voice. It was Blue.
"You'll need all eight badges to get in there. Only the strongest trainers can get in there."
"And that's our gang, right?"
"Yeah. So, have you're Pokemon gotten stronger?"
Trainer Blue would like to battle!
"Pidgey, let's go!"
"Nidoran, you're up!"
"You got a new member as well? Cool! Anyway, Pidgey, Sand attack!"
"Leer, go!"
Pidgey used Sand Attack, which lowered Nidoran's accuracy, and Nidoran lowered Pidgey's defense.
"Tackle go!"
"You use Tackle as well!"
The two tackled, and pushed and shoved each other. Nidoran then gained footing, and shoved Pidgey away.
"Great job Nidoran!" said Seth.
"Gust!"
Pidgey then flapped his wings, and it swirled around Nidoran, and he took damage.
"Now, use tackle!"
Nidoran tackled Pidgey once more, and Pidgey fainted.
"Okay, rest up buddy. Now, squirtle, go!"
"Squirtle!"
"Nidoran, return! Eva, you're up!"
"Voi, YEE!"
"Squirtle, Bite!"
"Eva, swift!"
The swift countered the bite, and Squirtle stumbled backwards.
"Water gun!"
Squirtle then squirted Eva, and Eva took some damage from it.
"Quick attack, go!"
Eva then raced off, and ran into Squirtle.
"Squirtle, bite!"
"One more quick attack!"
Eva ran into Squirtle once more, and rammed him away, making Squirtle Faint.
Seth has defeated Trainer Blue!
"What? Again!?"
Seth received 100 Poke Dollars.
"Man, you really do have a way with your Pokemon."
"Just know," said Seth, "that you lost, doesn't make you weak. Loosing is a part of life. We just know that it's a way to make us stronger."
Blue laughed, "You sure did have a way with words too. Anyway, I'll see you around, rival!"
"Rival?"
"Yeah, you've become my main rival to beat!"
"Rival," said Seth to Eva, "I like that."
The two headed past Viridian City into the forest.
