Chapter 13: Monty's in town
It was Thursday and the clock was really ticking now. Fazbear and his friends only had so much time by this point, which was only intensified with Monty coming to town. They didn't even know about him coming to assert his control, so they were very much oblivious to what was about to come their way.
Freddy having breakfast, still wearing his nightcap. He was really wiped out after last night and it was especially visible in his eyes. Even after getting the sleep he needed, he was still pretty tired. Unknown to Freddy, he was about to get a visit from a group he wasn't prepared to see.
Loud knocking on his front door could be heard. "What the hell? It's like 8 in the morning!" he said. But when Freddy opened the door, he felt his stomach drop. It was at least 10 to 12 police officers standing right outside his front door. "Morning Mr. Fazbear," said one of them, "We need to search your home for stuff." And without any permission, half of the officers went into his home to search. "The rest of you search outside, in the backyard, and in his car," the officer said.
Freddy was obviously pissed off now. "Hey! What's the big idea?!" he yelled, "We playing the world's most complicated version of hide and seek? I'm sure it just requires ONE." "Been playing hide and seek my whole life, it's called running from my ex wife," said the police officer in charge, "So I have a good idea of hide and seek. But seriously, there's potentially evidence against you in a case of missing files."
"Oh," said Freddy, trying not to look or sound nervous. "Between you and me though, it's probably just a general misunderstanding," said the officer in charge, "We'll be off your property within a half hour if I had to estimate." It was surprising to Freddy that the police officers weren't more aggressive towards him. But given the overall reputation of him, his friends, his father, and Fazbear Entertainment as a whole, they didn't have any real reason to be aggressive. They were known across town and practically all of Utah, but obviously not in a negative sort of light.
Eventually after a half hour or so, the police left Freddy's house. It was pretty obvious that this report the police were tasked to do wasn't taken seriously by any accounts. And to no surprise at all, the police didn't find files or anything that could have been evidence against him. This was going to be an embarrassing blow to the mayor when he'd find out.
Freddy went back into his home (which really wasn't in much shambles or ransacked as expected) and put on his top hat, before calling his father and friends through video chat on computer once more. They all picked up, and much Freddy, they too were tired. Even Bonnie, like Freddy before him, still wore his nightcap.
"Let me guess, search warrant of some kind?" asked Fredbear. "Happened to you too?" asked Freddy. "Happened to you guys as well?" asked Bonnie. "I'm guessin it happened to us all," said Foxy. "The police didn't seem to concerned about it," said Chica. "Probably because this report was so out of the blue and had no true evidence against us," said Freddy, "But who could've reported us? There wasn't a soul who saw our faces that night, and I'm positive the cameras were knocked out that night."
Just then, Buster came onto the call. "Hey guys, I saw this active with a video call, so I figured I'd join," he said. "You know who got searched by police Buster?" asked Freddy, before replying with, "All of us." "Huh?!" exclaimed Buster, "All of you?!" "Yeah, all of us," said Bonnie, "But they didn't seem too aggressive." "The police looked to have doubts about the supposed reports against us," said Chica, "They only searched for a half hour and were gone after that. And if that doesn't tell you something, then I don't know what does."
"Perhaps those guards reported you," said Buster, "But that wouldn't explain why they came to you five in the first place. Someone had to have gotten suspicious of us at one point or another for that to happen just this morning alone. Part of me believes it's the mayor, but I also don't see him suddenly making the decision two days after Fredbear nearly attacked him." "Hey," said Fredbear, "I was just following my son's plans of bad cop, bad cop." "It was good cop, bad-" Freddy said, before stopping and facepalming, "Forget it."
"We only got 2 days left and time is running out," said Chica, "I really think we should work on getting the final files as soon as we possibly can." "Agreed lassie," added Foxy, "That dammed gator's plans ain't slowin down." "What are we waiting for then? Let's get to them!" said Bonnie.
"If you guys wanna do it, then be my guest," said Buster, "I'll potentially join in with you guys if need be." "As always, I'll pick you guys up," said Bonnie, "In the super duper white van!" "Do I have barnacles in me ears? Or did he really just say that?" asked Foxy. "He really just said that, but I digress," replied Freddy.
At Town Hall
In Mayor Friedlander's office, he was reviewing security footage from one of the town owned buildings. He didn't see anyone or anything yet, but he also wasn't close to the time of when Buster could have came in. Friedlander was getting close to the time, until without notice, Monty and Sparky had walked on in. This made the mayor jump.
"Oh, hey Monty!" Friedlander greeted, "And is that Sparky?" "In the flesh," Sparky replied, "But let's cut the crap here Bruce. You know damn well why me and my boss are here. So let's get down to business here." "More importantly, what are you doing?" asked Monty, "And did the cops search Fredster and the gang?" "I'm looking at the security footage of one of our town owned buildings to see if there is anything or anyone unusual," Friedlander replied, "And if you wanna know how the cop's searches went, here's a voicemail from the one in charge."
The mayor turned on the voicemail on his phone. "Hey Bruce, this is Officer Peters," said the leading officer, "Well, we searched the Fazbears and their friends as you wanted and as far as we've gathered, there was nothing wrong!" he then started laughing, "Ah man, I think the only real thing wrong here is that I can't tell if I was hallucinating or if you really asked me and the boys to search the Fazbear crew! Trust me Mr. mayor, they're clean. Unless this is some hallucination, then good God, take me away."
The message stopped and the looks on Monty and Sparky were priceless. "Yeah," said the mayor, as he went back to looking at the security footage, "I know." "It had to have been them!" Monty blurted out, "I just know it!" "I don't know," added Sparky, "They ain't dumb when it comes to planning things, but they ain't very smart either. The only one who's intelligence isn't great is Bonnie, but I wouldn't call him a dumbass by any stretch."
It was at this moment when the mayor saw something on the cameras and he recognized it as he gasped. Monty and Sparky looked at what he was seeing. "Who's that?" asked Monty. "Is that Bonnie? And why is he all sharp looking?" asked Sparky, "I guess Sharp Dressed Man really inspired him. He was always fond of ZZ Top's songs." "Oh no," Friedlander replied, "That's his brother, Buster! He works with our town! There's no way he could have something to do with this! He's been a loyal member of working for our town for so long!"
Sparky looked at the screen closely. "That little prick," he said. Monty then looked at Mayor Friedlander and said to him, "You know what you have to do." The mayor gulped, "I'll send the special units to his place."
