Chapter 1: Spider-Luna
Disclaimer: I don't own The Loud House. I make no money or profit from this.
As the family gathered food to watch whatever they were going to watch, an orb floated down to Cobalt. It was white with a pink spider web design. As soon as the android touched it, his eyes glowed blue before going back to their normal red.
"So what are we going to watch?" Lynn Jr. asked, sitting down with a plate loaded with food.
"The first world is going to be about a superhero," Cobalt replied. All the girls groaned and complained, while Lincoln gained an excited expression. The android held up his hand to get them to quiet down. "I get that it doesn't sound appealing to most of you, but this might be different. I say that because Luna is the hero in this world."
"Me?!" Luna asked in utter shock. Lincoln was looking even more excited than before, while the others stared at the host with shocked expressions.
"I thought Lincoln would've been the hero," Lana commented.
"Yeah, especially because he's always reading those dumb comics," Lola added.
"Lincoln does play an important role in Luna's life," Cobalt replied. "In this reality, Luna is the only child of Lynnard and Rita Loud that live in New York. She is childhood friends with Lincoln who lives with his uncle and aunt. Rita died when Luna was still a child and Lynn is the police captain."
"Wow, that sounds really different," Lincoln said. "Hearing that me and Luna aren't siblings, but childhood friends."
"Also hearing mom and dad only have one kid," Lori added. Getting everyone to agree with her.
"I think it's time to start the viewing," Cobalt stated, before throwing the orb to the screen and standing behind the couch. Soon the dark screen turned on and the viewing started.
The screen shows four familiar 19 year old girls in a high school gym. Mazzy Brant was wearing a purple T-shirt with dark gray cut-off shorts while sitting at a set of drums. Tabby Grant was wearing a black suit with white cuffs on a keyboard. Sam Sharp wore a yellow knee high dress with black leggings on Bass. Finally Luna Loud wore a green jacket over a black shirt with purple shorts with black leggings on guitar.
"Alright, I got it!" Sam said after writing something in a notebook. "Pick it up!"
As they all get ready to start playing, Luna however starts to daze off while playing. '...Pick it up where we dropped it…' she thought to herself as she played.
"Is that Tabby?" Luna asked in surprise.
"It looks like it," Lincoln replied.
"You all also look older," Lynn Sr. pointed out.
As the band played, Luna started thinking about the past. It then showed a 17 year old Luna holding her hand after getting bit by a strange spider. It then shows Luna dressing up in a black and white costume with a hood that had a pink and blue spider webbing design, swinging around the city stopping crime. Luna appears on TV shows in costume and the host introduces her as Spider-Woman. Lynnard was watching the show while voicing his disgust to the costume hero, while Luna sat on the couch behind him with her head down in shame and fear. Then Luna defended her childhood friend Lincoln Parker from bullies. Then it becomes one of her as Spider-Woman fighting a huge bipedal lizard in ripped up clothing. Finally changing to her hold the Lizard while it changes back into her best friend Lincoln.
"I just…wanted to be special…like you…" was the last thing Lincoln said before dying.
The last scene showed J. Jonah Jameson at a press conference with Spider-Woman's face marked out. "Such blatant disregard for human life cannot be tolerated!" He shouted while addressing all the media. "Lincoln Parker must not die in vain! Spider-Woman and those like her must learn that with their great power, comes an even greater responsibility!"
It then goes back to the present where Luna was viciously shredding her guitar.
Every Loud member was now looking at the screen either crying or tears building in their eyes. While they only caught glimpses of Luna's past, it was enough to leave huge impacts.
"What…what was all that?" Luna choked out. She was still trying to process the fact that this version of her killed her brother.
"Those were the memories of that world's Luna Loud," Cobalt replied. They all look to him to ask questions, but he holds up his hand to stop the slaughter of questions that were coming. "When she was 17 years old, Luna got bit by a radioactive spider that was an experiment of a well-known company. The bite gave her numerous powers like being able to crawl walls and increase strength. The most unique one is the Spider Sense, which is like a warning system that tells about incoming dangers. She then made her costume and started fighting crime as a vigilante known as Spider-Woman. In those 2 years she gained fame and notoriety from citizens and police."
"Oh please, that is all malarkey!" Lisa shouted with a frown. "If that spider was radioactive, then she would've gotten radiation poisoning not super powers!"
"In some worlds that is the result" the android started to reply. "However, that's not what happened here."
"Then what was with the ending?!" Leni asked, with tears flowing from her eyes
"Yeah, if she's a hero then why did she kill Lincoln!" Lynn Jr. demanded with a scowl on her face.
"Why did dad show hate and disgust towards Luna when she was on TV?" Lori asked, confused at what she just saw.
"First, Lynnard showed disgust because he is the chief of police," the robotic host started to answer. "His job is to catch Spider-Woman and bring her to justice. In his eyes, she is squandering her abilities by being a vigilante and appearing on talk shows, instead of catching criminals by the book."
"Okay, that does make a little sense," Rita commented. "It's obvious he doesn't know it's Luna under the mask, so he doesn't know he's hurt her when he says things like that. However, what happened to me? I didn't see myself in any of those memories." All the children started to agree with her and ask the same thing.
"I don't know," Cobalt replied with a shrug. "My creator never gave that information. All I know is she died when Luna was young, there was no reason or cause of her death." This didn't help the family and only upset them more. "Now to explain the ending memories, I need to give you some background on Lincoln." Everyone listens closely to this, especially Luna and Lincoln.
"Now he is known as Lincoln Parker in this world" their host started to explain. "He lives with his aunt May and uncle Ben, since his parents aren't around. He is a very smart science wiz and nerd, but as you can imagine that comes with problems. He is looked down on by many of his schoolmates, with Luna being one of the only people to defend him." This caused the family to become furious at hearing he was being bullied, and then happy that Luna was there to defend him. "This caused Lincoln to harbor anger and hate deep within him. He hated that he had to be protected by Luna."
"Then when Spider-Woman appeared, he saw someone to admire. To him she was someone strong, amazing, courageous, free, and someone he wanted to be like. So he used an old experiment he made with an old friend. He believed that this serum would make him similar to Spider-Woman. However all it did was make him into a monster known as The Lizard."
"That's not very creative," Luan commented with a deadpan expression.
"Then at prom, he was ridiculed once again by many of the students," Cobalt continued on, ignoring Luan's comment. "This caused him to turn into The Lizard once again. Luna showed up in costume and fought him, not knowing it was her childhood friend. After defeating him, he reverted back into Lincoln. Unfortunately the serum combined with the beating she gave him, was too much and caused his death. By the time people arrived, they only saw Spider-Woman holding the dead body of Lincoln. This caused people to not know Lincoln was The Lizard and believe she killed him during the fight."
"He just wanted to be special," Lincoln said, looking down to the ground depressed. "He just wanted to be special and be admired like Spider-Woman. He was desperate enough to create a dangerous serum to try to be like her." This made him think of the video contest incident. He was so desperate to win a trophy he made the video embarrassing all his sisters. Hearing this had the rest of the family looking at him worried.
"What was that serum?" Lisa asked.
"It's called The Lizard Mutagen," their host replied. "While I don't know exactly what it was supposed to do. However, one of its main functions was to regenerate lost limbs. Just like how some reptiles can regrow their tails." Lisa then started to think, wondering if such a serum is possible. "Now let's get back to this reality."
"Yo Mick Swagger!" Sam shouted from beside Luna. This snapped her back to reality and she stopped playing.
"Sorry about that," Luna chuckled nervously. "Guess I got a little too into it."
"Yeah no kidding," Mazzy said, walking to stand next to her. "There's something on your mind right?" Luna said nothing and looked away. "Want to talk about it? We have a big gig coming up and need you to have that pretty head of yours on straight."
"I can't, sorry," Luna replied, as she started to pack her things. "Don't worry, I'll be alright." She grabbed her stuff and waved goodbye to the rest as she left.
"I told ya, total head case," Sam sourly commented, looking at the leaving girl.
"Leave her alone luv," Tabby said to her. "Luna will be fine…she got a lot on her mind."
"Do Sam and that version of me have bad blood?" Luna asked. She didn't like seeing her crush dislike her.
"It's complicated," Cobalt replied. "They have been friends since sixth grade and the two of them started the band. However, due to Luna moonlighting as Spider-Woman has caused her to miss or bail on band related events. Like her missing the band's very first gig at prom, because she was busy fighting Lizard Lincoln."
"Does anyone know her secret?" Lincoln asked.
"At this point in time, no," the android replied.
The scene changes to Luna, still in casual clothing, sitting and listening to music on top of a billboard with her hood up. The billboard had an anti Spider-Woman message with a picture of Lincoln on the side. Her mind drifted back to one of her closest friends. 'All these secrets…' she thought to herself, looking out at the city. '...All these things I can't say. I'll never be able to say…he'll never know.' She stood up, her expression showing regret. "I…I'm sorry Lincoln."
"She feels guilty about what happened to Lincoln," Rita commented, shedding some tears. Even though this wasn't her daughter, it still hurt her to see one of her children suffer.
"But it was an accident!" Lana protested, trying to defend her. "She didn't know or mean too."
"Unfortunately that doesn't matter" Lisa commented, matter of factually. "Fact remains that he still dies as a result of her fight with him."
"Lisa is right sweetie," Lynn Sr. added. "It's a good thing she feels guilty, unfortunately her actions had everlasting results that can't be changed."
The screen changed to a few days later and Luna as Spider-Woman swinging through the city. "We've been through this before dad," she said with a hint of frustration. She had her phone connected to her mask wirelessly, so she could still use it without holding it.
"If it were up to me, you'd be out of that band and focused on college," Lynnard said on the other side of the phone. "I know you're not in high school anymore, but you need to focus more on school. You haven't even picked a major yet."
"I love music, dad," Luna replied, landing on a moving subway train car. "It's all I ever wanted to do."
"I know, honey," he replied sorrowfully. "Fighting for what you love is worth it. However, sometimes what you want isn't what you need. I believe you can be something great if you apply yourself. You're smart, talented, and as resilient as they come. If you pay attention, life might just show you where you're needed." The subway Luna was on made it to its next stop. "Look honey, I gotta go. Be careful on the subway and I'll see you in a bit at your concert."
"Dad, wait-" Luna started to say, only for him to hang up.
"F-Freeze!" she heard someone shout at her. She looked down to see a police officer pointing his gun at her among the citizens on the platform. She jumped down off the train and landed on the train platform wall. The officer continued to point his gun at her. "P-Put your hands up!" He ordered in a shaky and terrified voice. "D-Don't move!"
Luna could see his terrified expression and trembling body. 'He is shaking like a leaf,' she thought. She attempted to make a calming gesture with her arms, only for him to start shooting. She was able to dodge the shots, but he was shooting blindly at her. 'He's shooting at me?! He's fucking shooting at me?!' Acting quickly she webbed the officer's hands to a pillar behind him, stopping him from shooting.
"How could he just literally start shooting like that!" Lori screamed out in frustration and worry.
"What if he shot someone that was waiting for the subway!" Luan called out.
"Putting the officer's disregard for public safety aside," Rita started, also not liking how the officer acted. "It seems like Lynn cares deeply for his daughter and only wants what's best for her. Unfortunately it looks like he doesn't know how to show it."
"He is attending her band's concert, that's something," Lynn Sr said, trying to help his counterpart.
"While telling her to quit it and focus on school," Cobalt added.
"P-Please don't kill me!" The terrified officer cried out.
"Kill you?! Why would I kill you?" Spider-Woman asked him dumbfounded. She then grabbed his radio from his chest and started talking into it. "55, we got a 10-10, shots fired at queensboro plaza platform."
"Roger that, 96 unit en route," someone replied. Spider-Woman then put the radio back on the officer.
"I hope you like the internet," she playfully said to the officer. "Because you're going to be on it for a long time." She then gestured to all the people around them with their phones out and recording. Just as the officer was about to retort, they heard what sounded like a lot of people running closer.
A large number of police officers showed up on the platform. "Record time fellas," Spider-Woman said as she went to leap back onto the subway. "Ol' Captain Loud has been whipping you boys into shape. There's your shooter guys. I'm out like-" she landed on top of the subway, only for a spot light from a helicopter shined on her. "-A light."
"Spider-Woman! Stop or we'll shoot!" Someone from the helicopter said over its speakers. Spider-Woman then looked down to the street below, only to see many police vehicles covering them. "I repeat! Stop or we'll shoot!" She then started to run and swing away to escape from the police.
"How did so many cops get there so fast!" Lynn Jr. asked in complete shock.
"I'm guessing someone on the platform called them as soon as they saw Spider-Woman," Luan replied.
"That would explain how a helicopter got there so fast," Lincoln commented.
"That makes sense," Lisa started to point out. "She is a murder suspect, of course they would use everything they can to capture her." The parents could only watch and worry about the other version of their daughter.
It then goes to Tabby, Mazzy, and Sam all waiting in the backstage dressing rooms. All 3 of them were wearing a teal-green pencil dress with medium horizontal black stripes, black skin tight pants with teal-green shoes. The atmosphere in the room was nervous and tense. "Guess Luna is a no-show," Mazzy said, a little disappointed.
"Greaaat, how are we going to play without her?" Tabby asked with head down in disappointment.
"The only way we should ever play ladies," Sam said, trying to get them hyped up. "Loud as hell."
It goes into the venue where they're playing. There was a good amount of people in attendance, including Lynnard Loud. He was sticking out of place in the crowd because he was wearing a black suit with a beige shirt and black tie. He had a goatee and all his hair had turned gray from stress.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome to the stage…" the MC started to announce. At that moment, Luna snuck into the dressing room. She was desperately trying to take off her Spider-Woman outfit, with her band outfit underneath it. "The one and only, the marvelous Mary Janes!" On the stage were Tabby, Mazzy, and Sam, with Tabby on the guitar instead of the keyboard.
"The Mary Janes?" Luna asked their host in confusion.
"Honestly, I'm not sure why they're called that," Cobalt replied with a shrug.
"At least Luna got away from the police," Lori commented.
"You know, dad looks good with a goatee," Leni remarks before looking at their father. "You should totally grow one."
"Thanks Leni, but I think I'll stay the way I am," the patriarch replied uncertainty.
"I don't know honey, I might agree with Leni on this one," Rita said to her husband.
As the band began to play, Lynnard looked at the stage in disbelief. "Luna…late for your own concert," he said in shock and disbelief.
"Do not worry for your daughter…" a deep muscular voice said from behind him. Lynnard turned around to see a tall, hulking gray skin man with deep blue hair. He wore an open black vest and black pants. "...I kiss her goodnight for you." Lynnard tried to pull his gun from its holster, only to get punched onto the stage.
Luna just reached the stage, only to see her father land on it. Seeing what was happening, she ran back to the dressing room to change back into Spider-Woman.
"Who and what is that?!" Lola cried out, while hugging her twin. The monstrous man scared all the members of the Loud family.
"That is Aleksei Sytsevich," Cobalt started to reply. "He's a Russian superhuman mercenary and he was hired to kill Lynnard Loud." They all became worried for their other reality father and hoped Luna will save him.
"Why is he after me?" The Loud father asked in worry for his counterpart.
"He was hired by a criminal kingpin to kill Captain Loud," their host replied.
"You take good punch," Aleksei said as he walked towards Lynnard. The police Captain got his bearings and saw his gun on the ground in front of him. "Strong chin for a soft man," he taunted standing over Lynnard. He grabbed his gun and turned to shoot, but saw the hulking man ready to smash him with both hands. "Very well, I break chin last."
"Holy-" was all Lynnard could say seeing the fists coming down to crush him. Fortunately Spider-Woman grabbed Aleksei's fists with her webbing and pulled them to the side, causing him to miss Lynnard and having him rolling out of the way.
This got a round of cheers from the children and a sigh of relief from the parents. The kids started cheering and shouting for Spider-Woman to beat the guy down.
"Alright big boy," Spider-Woman started, crouched on a nearby wall. She then pushed off it to kick him to the ground with both of her feet. "Kiss the conver-" she was saying, only to feel like she just kicked a wall. The man only showed a small discomfort and remained standing.
"Spider-Woman?!" He said surprised, before a grin appeared on his face. "Oh I see, you want to dance?" He then wrapped his arms around the female hero and started to crush her. She let out groans of pain as she was being crushed. "Dance with Aleksei! Bump and grind, yes" he taunted while laughing.
None of the Loud family said anything and watched on with worry and fear. Hoping that Luna will get out of this situation.
'Can't breathe…' Luna thought, seeing how strong this guy is. 'I can't…' she starts to think about everything she's been through. All the people she saved, all the people she fought, her childhood friend that she couldn't protect. 'Can't…Can't quit' she then elbowed him on both sides of his head. The hit stunned the superhuman, causing him to loosen his grip slightly. Feeling this, Spider-Woman then started to repeatedly punch him in the face. He finally let her go and stagger towards a wall. Now free, the spider hero then webbed his hands to the wall, trapping him to the wall.
"Hey, what gives…" Aleksei started saying after seeing he was stuck to the wall. He sees her readying to punch him. "...Lady?" Was all he said before being punched through the wall and knocked unconscious.
This got another round of cheers from the Loud children. The parents smiled at the screen, happy to see this other version of their daughter was okay.
"*Sigh* Now stay down" Spider-Woman said to the unconscious man. "Way to ruin everything, you rando dork."
"Freeze! Don't move an inch!" Lynnard said seriously from behind her, aiming his gun at her.
"She saved him and he's still planning on arresting her?!" Lynn Jr shouted.
"Can't he let her go this one time?" Lana asked.
"I'm afraid he can't sweetie," Lynn Sr. replied to Lana.
"She is still a wanted criminal," Lincoln replied sadly. "Everyone still thinks she's responsible for my counterpart's death."
"Come on, really!" Spider-Woman said, turning around with her hands up. "What's a girl gotta do to impress you? I just want to be loved."
"I'm placing you under arrest for the murder of Lincoln Parker," he said as he moved closer. "You have the right to-"
"Wait! Listen!" She interrupted him. "Lincoln's death wasn't…it wasn't my fault. At least not in the way you think." She attempted to quickly slide to this left, only for him to follow her.
"I said don't move!" He repeated, remaining calm as ever. "I'm bringing you in, miss. Whatever it takes, however long it takes to do it. You'll see justice."
"Yeah…I have no doubt you want that, Captain," she said to him sorrowfully, as she lowered her hood and removed the mask.
"Oh my god!" He whispered in a devastated voice. "Luna?! How?! Why?!"
"You're a good cop, pops," Luna said with her voice filled with respect. "You put on that badge and carry that gun because you know if you don't, someone who shouldn't will."
"When I put on this mask, I only did it because it freed me from responsibility." She continues on, voice now becoming one of sorrow and regret. "I thought I was special. And Lincoln died because he tried to follow my example." She closed her eyes and thought back to holding Lincoln's dead body. "I have to take responsibility for that. To make his death mean something. But I can't do it in a jail cell."
"This mask is my badge," she opened her eyes, they were filled with conviction along with her voice. "If I don't define what it means…" she then pointed to the unconscious mercenary. "...Monsters like this will."
"This is where I'm needed," she finishes while putting her mask back on.
"Do you think he'll still arrest her?" Lola turns to ask her parents.
"I think so, princess," Lynn Sr. replied, with Rita nodding in agreement.
"She did something wrong, even though it was unintentional" the matriarch continued. "Like she said, he's a good cop. He's bound by the law to bring her in, regardless of how much he doesn't want to."
"Plus if people found out he let her go, it could cause problems," Lisa added in her opinion. "The least that could happen is him losing his job, worst is he could possibly go to jail."
"Still sucks," Luna commented, not happy seeing herself going to jail.
Lynnard stared at her devastated and conflicted for a few more seconds, before lowering his gun. "Damn it Luna!" he said in a tired and defeated tone. "Go on then. Get out of here before I come to my senses."
"Dad, I…" Spider-Woman started saying in disbelief. "...Thank you." She put up her hood and started to swing out of there. Leaving Lynnard standing there, watching his daughter.
The screen then goes black. "That's it for this one, so what did you think?" Cobalt asked the family.
"That was Awesome!" Lincoln answered with excitement.
"I totes love her outfit!" Leni answered happily. "I have so many ideas to make it better."
"I wish we could've seen more of the band playing," Luna answered. "Though it was rockin to see an older Tabby."
"I enjoyed seeing her smack down that huge monster," Lynn Jr. answered.
"I'm more interested in that Lizard Mutagen," Lisa replied, while thinking of something. "Also what made Mr. Sytsevich into what he was."
"I'm happy to see Luna didn't get taken to jail," Luan replied. "But I wish we didn't have to see Lincoln die." Lori, Lucy, Lola, and Lana agreed with her on that.
"I can't believe that version of me let Luna get away," Lynn Sr. replied.
"While I'm happy this ended well, I wish it wasn't so…depressing," Rita replied. "Are all of these worlds going to be like this?"
"I'm not sure," Cobalt replied. "My creator picks and sends the worlds, I don't know anything until I get them." He then snapped his fingers and 2 doors appeared a little bit away on the left side of the couch. "Those doors lead to public style bathrooms, I forgot to make them before bringing you here. Now, eat, drink, and talk among yourself while I wait for another orb from my creator." The family just watched him as he went to stand off in the distance. While they found the android's action confusing, they shrugged it off. They went to get something more to eat, used the facilities, and talked about the world they just saw.
AN: That's it for this chapter, again this is a test story for myself.
