Locked Room Murder

June 19, Yuki Manor, Meditation Room

J walks into the room and regroups with Hugo Strange in a large room with a double doorway. The doctor seeing her said "Ah, Miss. J. I'm so glad you showed."

"Some nice weather we're having today. Aren't you happy?" J asked him.

"No, not al all." Hugo tells her. "That stupid weather girl made the wrong call again. 'It will rain cats and dogs today!' she said with a straight face." He gets angry "I can't believe they allow such misguided reports on the public airwaves!"

'Looks like talking about the weather with this guy is just asking for punishment…' J thinks mentally rolling her eyes

"…But anyway, this is a splendid manor." Hugo points out.

'No argument there…It's hard to believe that this is Jaden's house, though…' J thinks nodding.

"I was given a guidemap to this building." Hugo said holding up said map in fact he had two and hands one to J "Here, Miss. J. I have a copy for you too." J takes it and adds Guidemap (Yuki Manor) was added to the Court Record.

J then asks Hugo about today's channelling saying, "What are you going to do once the nurse's spirit has been called?"

"Isn't it obvious? I'm going to have her write a signed confession." Hugo explains to her.

"A signed confession?" J asked confused.

"Yes, a confession. Pay attention! I'll have her write this: 'One year ago, on May 2nd, 14 patients died due to my negligence. And then, on May 24th, I fell asleep at the wheel and died in a car accident due to my further negligence. I'm sorry and I apologize for being negligent.'" Hugo explained smirking "That's what I'll have her write! With a confession, the rain falling on my soul can finally stop."

"O-Oh, I see…" J said to that then curious how he knew about Jaden asked "So, hod did you hear about Jaden Yuki…?"

"I heard about him from an acquaintance; a girl studying the occult at the college." Hugo explained. "That girl introduced me to this village. This is the home of the Keyblade Warrior School of Channeling."

"The home, huh…?" J said thinking.

"And Mr. Jaden is a son of the 'Master'. I hear." Hugo said grinning.

"Master…?" J asked.

"Anyway, do you see that door?" Hugo said pointing to the double doors "That's the room where people and spirits meet. Mr. Jaden's uncle is in there right now. Would you care to meet him…?"

J nods and heads into the Channeling Chamber.

June 19, Yuki Manoro, Channeling Chamber

J looks around and see a room full of candles and several other meditation decorations and thinks 'Wow…It's such a strange atmosphere in here…These flickering lights…I guess they're candles…'

"Good madam! Who might you be…?" A male voice said and J sees an old man with a bald head, thin eyebrows and a curled, silver goatee. His ears are pointed and his eyes are amber. He has broad, hunched shoulders and a crooked back. He wore a white and black coat with a red inner lining and black lining on the edge, over a white shirt with two thin black belts, as well as white gloves and calf-high black boots.

"Aaah!" J said jumping and composes herself "I-I'm, uh, my name is Serial Designation J…"

"Oh…You must be that good madam…" The man said rubbing his chin.

''Good madam'…? I he talking about me?' J thinks confused.

"You are a lawyer, are you not, good madam?" The old man asked. "I have heard much about you from Master Jaden."

"Is that so?" J said and thinks ''Master' Jaden…?'

"I am Master Jaden's uncle, Xehanort Yuki." The old man said introducing himself.

"N-Nice to meet you." J said to that.

"Ah, I had wanted to speak with you about a certain incident, good madam." Xehanort said to the drone "It would seem that perhaps you ask too much of Master Jaden in performing your duties. Most unbecoming, I'm afraid."

"Huh?" J said looking confused.

"Don't tell me you have already forgotten?" Xehanort asked smiling "That was it not for Master Jaden and his assistance, you would surely not have won…"

'First a girl that runs away, and now an old man who says I stink at doing my job…' J thinks deadpanned. 'When did I become the poster drone for 'How Not to Make a First Impression'…?'

"The past is the past though. Let us speak of the present now." Xehanort said waving it off.

"…Ah, thank you…" J said to that. She then asks "So why do you add 'Master' to Jaden's name. Isn't that a little…strange?"

"Good madam!" Xehanort snapped looking serious.

"Yes!" J said jumping.

"How dare you be so rude and disrespectful towards Master Jaden!" Xehanort tells her.

"I-I'm sorry." J said to him.

"He must be addressed by his proper title, good madam. You must call him 'Master Jaden'!" Xehanort said firmly.

"Um, uh…So, about Master Jaden…Uh…" J said a bit nervous.

"It is the blood." Xehanort said simply.

"Excuse me? 'Blood'?" J asked confused.

"Master Jaden carries the blood of the Master. In actuality, he is the only one remaining." Xehanort explained.

'Only one remaining…? What's that supposed to mean?' J thinks curious.

"Master Jaden is the last of the rightful heirs of the Keyblade Warrior Channeling Technique." Xehanort explains.

"Okay…Then…where do you stand…?" J asked him.

"That is a little more complicated…" Xehanort says sighing. "Although I'm strong of heart in the Yuki clan, I am merely a member of the branch family."

"…Branch family? What's that?" J asked curious.

"It is as it sounds." Xehanort said and explains "For a member of the branch family, no matter their spiritual power, they can never become the Master of the Keyblade Warrior School."

"So…how strong are you…?" J asked curious.

Xehanort sighs and said "…It is a shame, however I will admit. I can not even begin to compare the lowliness of my power to the Master's."

'So, that's how it is…' J thinks on it. She then asks "So today's channeling will be his first?"

"Yes, good madam." Xehanort said nodding. "Because the spirit of a person who dies in a traffic accident is usually very strong, it is usually easier to call that person to our world."

''Traffic accident' indeed.' J thinks on it.

"The channeling will take place here, in this Channeling Chamber, good madam." Xehanort explains. "As you can see, I am in the process of preparing."

J nods then ask "So…this room is the…Channeling Chamber…?"

"The place where a Keyblade Warrior speaks with those who have departed." Xehanort explains.

"I don't suppose you'd mind if we observed the session…" J said thinking.

"Do not even think of such nonsense!" Xehanort told her. "Only the medium and the client may enter here."

"O-Oh." J said to that.

"The secrets of the Keyblade Warrior Techniques can not be seen by just anybody." Xehanort explains.

'That never stopped Jaden from doing it in front of me before…' J thinks on it.

"It is also for your safety, good sir, if something were to go wrong." Xehanort added "That is why, while channeling is being performed, that heavy door is securely locked…"

"Oh, that's what the lock is for…" J said nodding.

Xehanort thinks and said "Oh, yes. I wonder if you have yet to meet Kairi, good madam."

"Kairi?" J asked.

"She is an adorable, angelic young girl." Xehanort said smiling.

J then remembers the red-haired girl she met who ran off "Oh, that odd…"

"She is my daughter. Now then, what was it you were about to say…?" Xehanort points out.

"Wh-What a cute daughter you have…Ahaha…" J said nervous.

"A pure heart that knows not of the evils in this world is a powerful thing, good madam." Xehanort explains "Please refrain from affiliating with her, I request."

'Well, it's not like I had the chance to anyway…' J thinks on it.

"I must insist and stress that you not let it occur." Xehanort told her.

"Okay, okay, I get it!" J said sighing.

J then decides to explore the manor for a while before it was time for the channeling.

June 19, Yuki Manor, Winding Way

J walks though the pathway that connects the main home and the side room and looks at the amazing garden and thinks 'Wow. This garden is really breath-taking. Somone put a lot of love into it.' She sees a machine with a chimney in the garden 'What is that over there…?...Is that an incinerator? It looks a little out of place in a garden like this…'

J then sees a glass urn with several cracks on it like it was broken and then fixed up "It's a really old urn. The ashes of a person long dead are inside. It looks like something with a long history…" It wasn't all that interesting so J keeps moving heading to the side room.

June 19, Yuki Manor, Side Room

J walks in and looks around the side room and thinks 'So this is…the Side Room. Looks like it's more of a break room.' She looks at the bedding on the floor 'There is a bedding spread out on the floor. It looks like someone's sleeping in one. I shouldn't disturb them…'

With that J heads back to the Winding Way.

Just as J walks down the way she hears a male almost familiar voice calls out "Hey! You! Hold on now! This guy's got a few questions to ask!"

'Hmmm…I'm sure I've heard that Kantoan accent somewhere before…' J thinks and looks and to her surprise sees a familiar brown haired young adult with a camera.

"Oh, well I'll be! It's Miss. Serial Designation J!" The boy said with a smile. "How have you been?! Haven't seen you in, what, a year?!"

"Um…You…are…Uh…You're Todd Snap, right…?" J said thinking on what the name was.

"Bingo!" Todd said with a smile "I'm the one and only 'paranormal photographer'. Todd Snap!"

"Ah, so I guess you're still at it? Being a photographer, I mean." J said with a smile.

"Of course!" Todd said smiling. "And today, I'm going to get myself a real scoop! You wait and see! Oh, that's right! This ain't no time to be wasting time! The channeling's about to get started!"

"Is it that time already?!" J asked checking her internal clock.

"We all should hurry up and get to the Meditation Room." Todd tells her and smiles "…What are you waiting around for?! Come on!" He heads to the Meditation Room.

'Todd Snap, huh?' J thinks on it 'I've been judging him hashly because of that case, but, I guess looking back, we had some good times, too…' She then heads to the Meditation Room

June 19, Yuki Manor, Meditation Room

J enters the room where everyone was. Xehanort smiles as he tells them "We will now begin the channeling. Master Jaden and honoured guest, please proceed into the Channeling Chamber."

"With this, I can finally swat all those pesky flies, once and for all!" Hugo said with a grin. "You hear me?! They won't be able to say a single bad thing about me after this!" He looks at J "You would love to hear them apologize, wouldn't you? Wouldn't you, Miss. J?!"

"Me?! Oh, uh, yeah, I sure would." J said awkwardly.

"Master Jaden, do you have the Channeling Chamber key?" Xehanort asked his nephew.

Jaden smiles and nods holding up black and red key with a emerald gem on the tail of the key "Yup, right here." He said happily.

"That is most satisfactory." Xehanort said with a smile. "That key is one-of-a-kind, so please take care of it well."

"It'll be fine, Uncle Xehanort. I won't lose it, trust me!" Jaden said smiling. "Okay, Dr. Strange. Let's get started."

"Finally! Let's go!" Hugo said eager.

Jaden then summons his Keyblade which something J never seens before, it was a silver and red dragon like Keyblade and then he with Hugo enter the room and the doors close and a click is heard with the lock being engaged.

"Now let us wait patiently out here for them." Xehanort said serving some tea and snacks for J and Todd. "Please have some lovely bitter green tea and jaw-droppingly large strawberry desserts…"

"Hold on, now grandpa!" Todd said annoyed.

"…Grandpa?" Xehanort said looking at him.

"How come we ain't allowed in that room?!" Todd asked him.

"Dear sir, you have an 'impressive' grasp of English. From where did you learn it?" Xehanort asked him.

"What?! I'm from the heart of the heartland!" Todd said to that.

"Is that so? Then I humbly request that you return to this 'Heart of the Heartland'." Xehanort told him.

"Wh-What are you…?" Todd said in shock.

"This is Keyblade Village." Xehanort tells him and looks at him with a serious expression "If you can not follow our traditions and rules, we request that you leave!"

Todd jumps and looks down sad and said "…Sorry."

'Wow. He shut Todd up! Now THAT's impressive!' J thinks surprised drinking the tea.

"Now then, let us wait." Xehanort said smiling.

As they wait suddenly, they heard a loud gunshot.

"Hey now! Wh-What was that just now?!" Todd said surprised.

'It came from inside the Channeling Chamber…' J thinks worried. They then hear another gunshot.

"Hey! Th-That's a gunshot!" Todd said worried.

"E-Excuse me?!" Xehanort said worried.

"I've heard that sound before. It's a gunshot! I'd bet my camera on it!" Todd said firmly.

'J-Jaden! Jaden's in there!' J thinks worried.

"Well, Miss. Lawyer! What's the plan?!" Todd asked her.

"What else?! We're going to break in!" J told him.

"What?! But…But there's only one key and that kid's got it." Todd said surprised.

"We're going to have to break the door. Is that alright, Mr. Yuki?" J said looking at Xehanort.

"Well, yes…But there is one matter…That is…" Xehanort said awkwardly.

"Don't try to stop me!" J said looking at him. "You can send the repair bill to the J & Co. Law Offices later!"

"Yeah! Now that's what I call being strong woman!" Todd said nodding.

J and Todd proceed to repeatedly slam them bodies into the door and eventually it gives way and opens to a shocking sight, in the dim room they see a long body lying on the floor dead. The body of Hugo Strange.

"D-Dr. Strange!" J said in shock. She then sees a flash and hears a camera click.

"…I…I was…murdered…" A voice said in a low whisper and J looks and sees what looks to be Jaden standing like a zombie blood covering his clothes. They also looked a bit more feminine.

"J-Jaden?" J asked concerned.

"That man…murdered me…" Jaden? said to them. "…so I killed...him..."

"Wh-What?!" J said worried. J then sees another flash and hears another camera click. She looks to Todd annoyed and said "Todd! At a time like this?!"

"Times like this are perfect for snapping up shots!" Todd tells her. "Buy anyway…what's going on here?! This person…Are they…Jaden?!"

"Step away from there!" A voice called out and in enters Xehanort looking serious he was holding a black and silver keyblade with a blue serpent like eye on the blade "Please leave this area to me. Go quickly and inform the police troopers!"

"But, but…" J said concerned.

"Hurry! Before there are more victims here!" Xehanort told her.

"Hey, let's go, City Drone! Leave this to the grandpa!" Todd said pulling on J's arm.

J reluctantly goes with Todd.

June 19, Keyblade Village

'My cell phone doesn't get reception way out here…So I ended up using the phone booth to call the police troopers…' J thinks, and she had finished the call and looks to Todd looking down.

"And…?" Todd asked her.

"They're on their way." J tells him.

"That's good. Geez, I saw a genuine 'mysterious phenomenon'…" Todd said thinking.

'He seems really on edge because of all this…' J thinks 'Not that I blame him…I'm scared to death by what's going on…'

"Hey, Miss." Todd said looking at J "Thay boy…Jaden. He wasn't the one that pulled the trigger, was he…?"

J thinks back to the scene they saw earlier of Jaden? and thinks 'Oh, yeah…Todd doesn't know that when Jaden is channeling, his whole physical appearance changes. Though this is the first time I've seen him channel someone of a different gender.'

J looks at Todd as the boy said "Then again…Weren't there only the two of them in there? I reckon he must have done it then…"

J thinks on it and then asked "Todd, what do you know about Dr. Strange?"

"Not much, but I did some digging…" Todd tells her. "That's one gent with a bad reputation."

"Really?" J asked.

"I hear he's good at surgery and stuff, but his personality stinks like wet Mareep." Todd explains.

'I sort of got the same impression myself…' J thinks with a nod.

"He's real controlling. Soon as his nurse of patients don't do what he says, he starts yelling." Todd continues to explain. "Must been real rough to work for him."

J nods and decides to head to the Meditation room while Todd remains outside.

June 19, Yuki Manor, Meditation Room

J walks in and sees Xehanort in the room having calmed down, he was drinking some tea and notices her "Ah, Miss. J."

"Mr. Yuki! How's, um…Master…Jaden?" J asked him.

"He has returned to 'this world'. The Spirit Severing Techinque was successful." Xehanort said smiling "Through I admit was difficult I am a little rusty wielding my own Keyblade."

"Let me see him, please!" J says to him.

"He is still unconscious. I humbly request that you wait outside for his recovery." Xehanort says sighing.

'Guess I just have to wait…' J thinks mentally sighing.

Just then someone bursts it and it was none other then Detective N. He smiles saluting and said "The police troopers are here! Sorry to keep you waiting!" He then sees J which surprises him "Huh? …You again?!"

"What are you doing all the way out here, Detective N?" J asked just as surprised.

"It's actually kind of funny. I was in the area for a business trip, buddy." N explains. "Well, time to check out the crime scene. I'll have to question everyone here later on, so just sit tight, alright?" He smiles at J.

'Why is he grinning at me…?' J thinks concerned.

"Shall I show you to the scene of the crime, Detective M?" Xehanort asked smiling.

"Um…My name isn't M…" N said looking down as he follows Xehanort into the Channeling Chamber.

'I guess all I can do for now is see what everyone else has to say…' J thinks on it she can start with Todd.

What a suspecnful chapter and the official introduction to Keyblades in this world. Keyblades here do more then what the canon can do as the allow the Spirit channeling. The only reason Jaden never summoned his before was he wasn't trained enough to summon it but could tap into it thanks to Terra's power.

His keyblade is called Neo Slifer in case it never comes up.

J will also be getting an original one as a Keychain will replace the Magnatama for this, so design and name suggestions for it are welcome.
