There was a sudden whirring, accompanied by slipping whispers and flickering text. Originating from the Observer. Which whirred to life, grabbing the attention of the, until then, dormant doctor.

"Like this?"

"Hmm?" Gaster glanced. "Ah. Finally."

The sudden noise became a cacophony, as everything spilled from it. Attempting to speak, and convey intent all at once. Gaster listening to the crashing voices, watching spilling texts.

"Undyne. Chara. Aliza." The voice indicated. "Crystal Ruins." It shifted tone. "Muffet. Chara. Aliza." The Observer sparked, rapidly saying. "Syren. Muffet. Frisk. Undyne. Napstablook. Frisk. Forest Ruins. Muffet. I like snow. Chara. Aliza. Forest Ruins."

Gaster snapped his fingers, and it grew silent. "I see. Let's do a simple tally. That may be faster." He motioned and a panel appeared, he tapped a few things, and the Observer began to tally. "I'll also need to work on spacing out the message function."

Despite the setback, the doctor was thrilled to get some feedback. To have something else to converse with. He then motioned, and a blaster appeared, tearing into the void, attempting to break the worded manifestations of his thoughts.

It worked enough that he wasn't aware of them at least.

The Observer spoke. "Tally complete."

"Very good. Let's see." Gaster flicked.

A brief rundown manifested, for the Caretaker role.

Undyne - 2
Toriel - 1
Shyren - 1
Muffet - 2

There was a sort of surprise to his expression, as melty and inconsistent as it was. He seemed to force a recount, which confirmed this to be the result.

"Fascinating. I hadn't anticipated those two, to be...'chosen.'" He admitted, sounding mildly disappointed. "Though, perhaps it is merely due to a low sample size...but, that matters little. A tie has occurred, and must be broken." He snapped off a piece of his finger, and molded it into a coin. "How better to decide, than whatever is left of luck in this place?"

He shook it, and it shifted, altering what lay depicted on the surface. One side depicting Undyne, while the other depicted Muffet. He flipped the coin, which seemed to distort and flicker, vanishing, reappearing at different places and times. Before finally landing in his 'palm'.

"I see." He hummed. "It appears the caretaker of the ruins, is to be Undyne...that is certainly a decision."

He shook his head, but didn't bother altering things. Instead, he motioned, as the next votes were tallied, for The Recluse. Which were...

A brief rundown manifested, for the Recluse role.

Chara - 3
Muffet - 1
Napstablook - 2

Gaster observed this result, his hollow eyes drooped slightly as he read the result, his perpetual smile faltering.

"I must profess. I do not understand this decision." He admitted, drifting, glancing for a response that didn't come. "It is strange. But, it won, and therefor, it is done."

Another snap of his fingers, and the decision solidified, marking Chara in the role. Gaster's posture shifted slightly as the final role appeared. Anticipating what, for him, felt like the obvious choice to win at last. Yet...

A brief rundown manifested, for the Human.

Aliza - 3
Frisk - 3

"Aliza... Aliza...do I know this human?" Gaster flickered briefly, fading from view for a moment. When he reappeared, the void around him crackled with energy. "Ah. That one. Why her?" His voice bristled with agitation. "I can't think of a version that...she lacks the determination to matter. Or is that precisely the point?" He shook it off. "It doesn't matter. I suppose. It's a tie. And thus, a coin flip will decide the winner. You'll just have to be satisfied if this...'option' loses out."

He sounded quite confident in the failing of this selection. His eyes gleamed as he held up the coin from earlier, now bearing the images of Aliza and Frisk on either side. He gave it a flip, tossing the coin which gleamed in a fashion he hadn't anticipated.

For a moment, the void a shadow moved to try and tilt it to his ends. But, the void held. Luck was called for to decide the day, and it had. No tampering permitted, as the coin landed, on the side of Aliza.

"Ah. Your coward wins the day. I hope you're happy with this...this 'fine' selection." His tone was bitter, but he shook it off quickly. "Perhaps she'll prove useful… in her own way."

The tally then manifest, and revealed the votes for the ruins. But Gaster merely hit a button, and had the device inform him of the winner directly, no votes. Revealing, the forest Ruins had won. His hand reached into the shadows, pulling them into a swirling, ethereal tablet. The world shifted and darkened as he moved.

Wafting, and vanishing, moving about the dark spaces between fractured worlds, he traversed. The Observer losing sight of him at multiple points. Before spotting him, far in the distance, alongside a world piece bursting with trees, and growth.

With methodical precision, Gaster motioned with his hands, the very fabric of the world unraveling before him. He withdrew an object—a small, hand-sized construct—and began weaving the code into it, binding the forested region into something tangible. Slowly, the space broke down and was consumed into the object, shrinking from a vast realm into a mere piece of your world.

When the work was done, Gaster stowed the object and flickered back into view beside the Observer.

"Come. We have some beings to gather." The Observer chirped in response, following him closely, as Gaster spoke. "Thankfully. Even if I don't know where an 'exact' is. I can focus on the broad concept of an individual and find something to match your requests."

A large skeletal hand grasped the Observer, dragging it through a grey door that screeched and wailed as it opened. Fingers clawed at the edges of the frame, struggling against the pull of Gaster's command.

Passing through, the passage was filled with a roaring sensation. Countless shifting colors, and exploding things in the far distances, beyond the dark of the walls that lined this brief passageway. The Observing taking note of eyes among the darkness, before being pulled through a passage to somewhere more solid.

The space they were in was dark, though, in a more traditional fashion. It was a shadowed realm, illuminated by waterfalls cascading into glowing pools. Trees flickered with soft light, the landscape familiar yet distorted. Gaster's hollow grin widened as he observed the glitching buildings, some abandoned with 'evacuated' signs flickering on and off. The code of this world was already eroding, but that didn't seem to bother him.

"Ah waterfall. You know. I used to frequent this place." He admitted, walking along. "Primarily, to enjoy a break away from prying eyes." He adjusted himself, and made his body as solid, and cohesive as he could muster. "Physical contact hastens the process, by the way. A note for later."

The Observer followed as Gaster strode confidently down the path, passing echo flowers that repeated the same chilling noises. People panicking, pleading, asking if this was 'real.' A few children in the cluttered noise, asking if they were going to come home. Or why, they had to leave.

Winding around a path, there was a sort of sauna with the same sign on it. And a walkway going ahead, reaching a bridge, with a looming mountain in the near distance. The sound of some sort of clash echoing throughout it all.

Finally, you arrived. A spear of light slammed into the writhing body of a human, its mangled form attempting to reconstitute itself even as a warrior relentlessly struck it down again and again. Teeth snapping out, in a feral bite, forcing the attacker to stumble back, narrowly avoiding a bite.

Again the spears appeared, and slammed into the 'human'. Furiously attempting to strike it down, even as it kept rising, endless. 'Healing' in the barest of fashions. Teeth dripping with saliva, eyes empty with malice.

"You must destroy it completely," Gaster remarked, his voice cutting through the chaos.

He snapped his fingers, and a blaster manifested above the two. The warrior pushing back, while the light engulfed the thing resembling a human, obliterating it along with a chunk of the surrounding landscape.

The warrior—a version of Undyne, clad in samurai-like armor—turned in surprise, her eyes locking onto him. "H-how did you do that?" She glanced over where it had been. "A-and...is it...really dead?" She gasped. "W-wait the soul-"

"It was note a human, and zombies rise unless their souls are completely destroyed," Gaster explained, his voice calm, almost bored. "I think I shall avoid them intruding upon my reality."

"G-gah...hey..I uh...appreciate the save." She admitted, adding. "But, there are other...people infected. You need to get to e...g..you need to evacuate." She noticed the Observer. "You and your uh...what is that?"

Both Gaster and the Observer looked over this Undyne. She was less armored than her normal self. And appeared slightly younger, with both of her eyes perfectly intact.

Gaster inquired. "Satiate my curiousity first. Are you...the captain of the guard?"

"H-huh, captain?" She laughed nervously. "Na. That's Glyde. I'm nowhere near as strong as him."

"That's disappointing." Gaster stepped nearer to her, before suddenly snatching her arm. "The question becomes...to you have any value?"

"H-hey. What the hell freak?" She demanded, attempting to pull away.

"Your armor interfered with a more distant scan. So." He shrugged, and hummed. "Occupying the Mad Dummy's position, are we?" He chuckled, as she tried to swing on him, only for her other arm to be snatched by a phantom hand. "You're a rather mediocre rendition. A mere midboss. Hmm. Well there are-"

She suddenly pulled herself up while being grabbed, and kicked him in the face. Managing to free one of her arms, she manifested a spear of light. Before her arm was suddenly grasped by another phantom hand, and broken. Her cry of pain muffled by magic.

"So you do have fight in you." He remarked, with a dark grin. "I changed my mind. You'll suffice."

Before Undyne could react further, her body began to unravel into strands of code. Her eyes widened as it occurred, for the little duration they remained. As this was occurring, he retrieved the 'Object' from his coat. The universe in the making, rattling and shaking violently.

"Without the anchors it will unravel itself. Thankfully. We have the first." He grasped her code, and began weaving it in, while adding. "And don't feel bad for her. We're doing her a favor, after all." He motioned. "This little 'piece' of reality, is both crumbling, and doomed in two different fashions...if you don't believe me...take a look."

Following the direction he'd motioned, the Observer turned. It was now staring down the path they'd come from. Presently flooded with a strange horde of half-melted monsters, moving in this direction. Some familiar to you, others not.

The horde was coming ever closer, and seemed as though it might sweep through the whole underground. Gaster stepping over, while putting the 'Object' away. He scanned the horde.

"What wretched creatures." He muttered in disapproval. "Come, let's go. We've a human to claim. Hopefully one that's compliant."

The Observer lingered for a moment, before being again grabbed by a skeletal hand, and dragged along after its maker.
