The Resolute was in the midst of repairs from the attack from the locals of Anur Millgan. Thankfully, upon taking the relic away and stuffing it along with their other relic in a reinforced safe that blocked all forms of energy radiation and even had some magical runes Tetrax got from a intergalactic magic user to block it out, the natives managed to calm down. At the moment, Tetrax and Ben as Diamondhead had just finished reinstalling new windows and windshields for the ship. All while everyone else did some general cleaning and repairs.
"Wait, their stomachs are all connected to each other?" Sam asked in disbelief.
"It's true," Makoto confirmed, "Upchuck's tummy connects to all other Gourmands."
"Well, there goes that idea of Upchuck eating the relics. If they're all connected, those things might mess with the whole species' collective minds," Sam grimaced.
"Yeah, that's a whole can of worms I don't want to open," Naoto muttered from nearby.
"Tetrax's idea to use his old Null Void gun to send them in there might be our only choice," Makoto sighed, "It's an almost entire alternate universe of endless space."
"What's the next place again?" Danny asked.
"Anur Transyl's moon, Luna Lobo," Sam replied, looking it up, "It's the homeworld of the Loboans."
"Oh, that's nice. The Lo…The L-Lobo…LOBOANS?!" Makoto exclaimed in fright, her tail and ears going straight up.
"Uh-oh…" Diamondhead spoke up as he walked over with some panes of broken window under one arm, "I know that tone…it's the 'Makoto don't do dogs that aren't our corgi' tone."
"I am not going out there!" Makoto declared, jumping behind Diamondhead, "You'll have to go through him to make me!"
"Whoa! Okay! No one's…" Danny began.
"Stop," Diamondhead spoke up, making a crystal hand to hold up since both of his were occupied, "She doesn't care what you say, so just nod along and agree." he explained, "Makoto can only deal with dog-like aliens if she knows it's me. Otherwise…Well…last time, she chased and beat up a wild Vulpimancer with a streetlight that one time…"
"HE HAD IT COMING!" Malkoto snapped, "HE NEARLY RIPPED MY TAIL OFF!"
"..." Sam and Danny looked at Diamondhead at that claim.
"Hah…It was dangerous and snarled at her, maybe took a swipe or two, but…lets be fair. She's WAY stronger than a Vulpimancer. So really she was chasing it around for the better part of an hour while crying out in fear and panic. Her Fight or Flight responses are…jumbled." He explained, "The truth is she might be strong enough to beat any dog…or dog-like thing she faces, but fear can be…difficult."
"Wait...but don't you guys have a d-" Danny began.
"Him I can tolerate because he's an adorable loaf! Other dogs I'm terrified of!" Makoto exclaimed before shivering with wide eyes, "I can remember…all those…those damn dogs that chased after me…all because I was a Beastkin…"
"Woah, I'm sorry. What?" Sam gawked.
"You guys should know the story of how Makoto and the gang come from a post-apocalyptic world where magical radioactive material has driven everyone to live on mountains?" Diamondhead sighed, "Well surprise…it's a pretty messed up world, and Beastkins like Makoto…they are the ones who get treated badly at times." he put the broken window panes down and moved Makoto off of him before he made a track of crystals along the ground he used to slide them over to Tetrax who took them away, the crystal breaking apart and flying off with Tetrax, "Makoto has told me the stories, but sometimes when she panics, she lets them just slip out…without the whole explanation. Not that it's any better, but you know…it helps…kinda-sorta-maybe…" he grumbled while rubbing the back of his head, "Well it's less confusing at least." he groaned out, "The weird thing is in reality Squirrels are pretty hard core."
"Squirrels?" Tucker blinked.
"Is this the part where you explain and make him look stupid?" Sam asked.
"Eeyup," Diamondhead nodded as he looked to Skurd.
"If you must know, while Makoto herself gains her traits from a species of Squirrel from her world, most squirrels in our world are rather impressive. Some are fully immune to venom of rattlesnakes, and they are even deadly fighters in nature, being dangerous to even dogs ironically," Skurd explained, "However, Makoto's phobia also ironically makes her an embarrassment to Squirrels."
"...shut up, Skurd…" Makoto whispered with flattened ears.
"Well I'm just trying to help here…" Skurd huffed.
"Babe, it's alright. You can stay in the ship the entire time we're there," Diamondhead assured, "Lambda hid a 'Calm Down' pack for you in your tail."
"Wait, she what?" Noel pondered, looking up from her mopping in confusion.
"I saw it when she was giving us those good luck hugs out of the corner of my eye," Diamondhead replied.
"She reverse Sly Coopered her," Skurd chuckled as Makoto checked her tail and pulled out a bundle with a chibi Lambda calling card tied to it, making her blink several times.
"...huh….Thanks, La-chan…" Makoto muttered.
"Ah," Diamondhead stopped her from opening it, "Not until we arrive on the moon."
"Mmm…"
"...Okay, one item from it. Just one. Save the rest for Luna Lobo," Diamondhead conceded to the pleading look his girlfriend was giving him.
"Yay~!"
"They are perfect, Ben who can adapt to anything can handle a wild personality like Makoto," Sam chuckled to the others, "Most guys would not be able to handle a girl like her."
"I feel targeted," Tucker spoke up.
"Yep," Danny and Naoto nodded.
"Hey…"
"Don't worry, man. I'm sure you'll find a girl of your own," Naoto assured.
"Oh easy for you to say Mr. 'I have a magical vampire girlfriend'."
"Yep!" Naoto grinned.
"Why does everyone with super powers get the girls?" Tucker complained.
"It's the responsibility, dude, the girls dig it," Diamondhead smirked as he grabbed more materials for the window repairs and walked off.
"You are the worst offender!" Tucker called out.
"I know, I scored the greatest girlfriend in the multiverse," Diamondhead replied with a smirk, "And I can prove it…cause I've traveled the multiverse."
"Stop Fl-"
"Ah…"
"?" the group blinked as they turned, seeing Archie opening one of the port windows as he looked out.
"Is…everything alright out here?" he slowly asked once he noticed the damages, "I've…honestly been sleeping for a long time, haven't I…?"
"Glad to see you're awake, good sir, but is it wise to be moving?" Skurd questioned.
"Hey. I had to get…some fresh air," Archie replied with a grunt, shuffling a bit in his position, "That….br….that thing did a real number on me…Any chance for an update on…the situation?"
"Sure thing!" Sam called out.
"Thanks!"
"...Wait. What thing?" Danny repeated.
"He means Makoto's former boss…but why refer him to that?" Diamondhead pondered, "I mean the guy looked like a hipster…who was surprisingly fast and strong…and nearly ripped my arm out of the socket when he g-oh wow, we would've got beaten bad if I hadn't gotten Buzzerker unlocked."
"Babe?"
"Oh right…let's hurry and check up on Archie until we reach the next planet."
"Fantastic! To think the Anur system had such a thing and that it took so much to defeat this Lord of the Vladats." Archie spoke as he was caught up on everything, "I knew this would be a difficult mission when Magister Tennyson asked if anyone wanted to take this away mission, but I never anticipated this sort of mystical threat would be waiting here. Boy my friends from the academy must find Earth branch boring since you guys do all the heavy work."
"I mean…" Ben muttered.
"So you have two major relics so far, right?" Archie asked.
"A medallion split into two pieces and a creepy skull," Sam explained, "The next Relic should be on Luna Lobo, and with luck, we'll get it first so we can chuck it into the Null Void."
"That would be the safest place to store them in this situation, even if Zs'Skayr could access the place, it would take him too long to search for them. But the time he did, we could just destroy his plans here," Archie nodded.
"...you…sure you're okay, man?" Tucker cautiously asked.
"Hmm?"
"You're…acting rather calm given you've been in a sort of coma for a while now."
"Well I am worried about potential brain damage, but Space medical care is substantially superior to Earth Medical Care." Archie explained, "Also I joined the Plumbers because I've always been interested in the weird, the occult, the paranormal. So to be taken captive by a lunatic from an alternate timeline on an alien world where aliens parallel classic movie monsters? I…kinda signed up for this."
"Yeah, no. He is right on the medical treatments possible. My grandpa had his whole nervous system fried once and he was healed up in a week or so," Ben recalled, "Potential brain damage is probably a cakewalk for it all."
"Well guess you two aren't lost causes yet," Sam smirked to Danny and Tucker.
"Hey~" both complained.
"So we're going to the moon the Loboans live on next?" Archie asked.
"Yep," Ben confirmed.
"Better be careful there," Archie warned, "While most of them are more than sentient and have a tribal civilization on the planet, others are feral packs who mostly act like savage beasts with little sense of reasoning. While these feral beasts mostly hunt in packs, it is a lone wolf that often proves to be the most savage Loboan of all."
Tucker gulped, "Hoo boy…Let's hope to not run into those feral ones then."
Archie nodded, "It's also the second most green planet in the Anur System. And did you hear that a major teleport accident sent the moon to the Null Void for a few years?"
"Wait, what?" Ben asked in surprise.
"Yeah. A Loboan Plumber I know, Scout, told me about it. It was around the time you were ten," Archie explained.
"I knew this sector of Space was weird…" Ben muttered.
"Oh joy….now I have to worry about feral space werewolves…" Makoto whispered as her ears drooped.
"Remember you get to stay in the ship for it," Ben reminded her, seeing the drooping ears.
"I know…but I know they'll be roaming outside because Feral dogs are the worst," Makoto muttered as she shivered, "They can sense fear…"
"Well, I'll scare them off as something bigger and louder." Ben offered, "Also, Mari," he snapped his finger as the Mink jumped onto his shoulder, "Would you mind staying behind as a guard pet for Makoto? If anything you think is scary gets close, you have full permission to go all Big Mama Nargacuga on it 'till it runs away yelping in panic."
"I shall allow this," Noel added, "I think it would be safer if she stayed big given this is a mostly hunter society."
Mari chittered before hopping onto Makoto's shoulder and nuzzled her cheek.
"There you go, Makoto, you have a powerful guardian beast to defend you," Ben smiled, Mari chittering at that, "Okay, Powerful, Majestic, and Noble guardian beast, happy?" he got a nod, "Noel, you spoil her."
"Eh?" Noel tilted her head.
"I'm just saying, she's very vocal about how much praise she should get. Clearly you spoil her," Ben smirked.
"Wha…?" Noel dramatically gasped, "I'll have you know I give the right amount of love and affection for all my lovely animal companions. Each one gets the right level and type of care for their personality. Mari is a very proud girl, so of course she must be praised properly." she huffed as Mari nodded.
"Aw…your Owner is such a goober," Makoto smiled, patting Mari on the head, "And thank you for sticking around to keep me company."
"We'll go out and get some info on the relic, find it, and on the way back stop by the local butcher and the farmers market if any," Ben spoke up, "Noel used up most of our produce."
"I was allowed to get creative!" Noel argued, "On the plus side, some of the fish that the locals brought to help make some cooking turned out to be really good for making Pisciss Volan curry!"
"Which is where?" Tucker asked.
"In Ripjaws's stomach." Ben explained.
"You sure seemed to enjoy it." Noel smirked.
"I once ate a tire as Ripjaws, but yes…with proper species match up your cooking is wonderful." Ben rolled his eyes.
"Well of course," Noel stated, a hint of pride in her voice as she held a finger up," Magister Tennyson has introduced me to so many different recipes it has opened up more and more ideas for my cooking, even improving on older ones! Oh! Maybe I c-why am I moving?"
"We're heading out!" Ben declared as he tossed Noel over his shoulder in a fireman carry.
"Ahh! B-Ben, let go!" Noel yelped, a heavy blush on her face as she tried to free herself.
"Shh…it's the sound of my current role as acting leader saying…no," Ben replied as he walked off.
"She'd be way worse off if it was a princess carry," Makoto giggled while following them, Mari nodding in agreement.
"Did that seem flirty?" Sam muttered.
"But Ben has Makoto…" Danny muttered.
"And Makoto is Bisexual," Sam added, making the guys who either forgot or didn't know do a double take.
"...Ben, you lucky son of a bitch…" Tucker whispered out of slight jealousy.
A feral-looking Loboan yelped as it was kicked back, a couple of others snarling as they circled something.
"I do apologize for that, but I am in no mood to be playing with you young pups," Valkenhayn stated, adjusting his gloves a bit as he stood in the center, "I am on an important mission for my lady, and I must not disappoint her," one Loboan quickly pounced at him, only for it to suddenly be sent flying into the air as the butler's knee was up in the air, "Hah…fine…" he lowered his leg as he got into a bit of a battle stance, "But just know…you a-"
He was soon interrupted by the sound of an engine going off, looking up to see Tetrax's ship lowering down to the ground, causing the feral Loboans to stagger back before they all ran off.
"...hmm. What do you know…" Valkenhayn whispered as he stepped back, pulling out a small pocket watch as he opened it, "Just as Paradox noted…right on the dot. I must remember to make him something special the next time he comes to see milady."
Not long after the landing bay hatch opened as Ben was the first to walk out in anticipation of any wild animals or the feral Loboans. He blinked, seeing no danger before spotting Valkenhayn waiting for him.
"Well…unexpected welcome party, Mr. V," Ben smiled, "You and your lady sure get around fast, that's if she's here and not off doing whatever she does when she's not doing her job. Kinda hard to get a read on her given what Ragna's told me."
"Oh well, Mr. Bloodedge is not the best recounter of events. At the very least not when he recounts My Lady's occasional moments of levity via a harmless practical joke," Valkenhayn explained, "'Mr. V...' I rather like it. No one has ever given me a nickname." he chuckled.
"Well, let's call it my method of extending a gesture of friendship." Ben offered as he put Noel down, "If I'm gonna end up running into you and your Master due to our shared interest in stopping things from falling apart due to apocalyptic events, or random super villain chicanery…" he sighed, "We might as well be casual with one another."
"Hmm…I suppose that is true, young Master Tennyson," Valkenhayn noted just as Danny, Sam, Tucker, Tetrax, Archie and Hobble moved out of the ship.
"So I imagine you're here for your own reasons as well?" Ben asked, "IE something your Master asked you to do for her, or do we just so happen to have the same goal of getting the Relic of this planet and chucking it into a dimensional waste bin with the hopes no one ever finds it?"
"The former actually," Valkenhayn replied before frowning a bit, "That magical presence My lady detected…the one similar to hers? She sensed it here and asked me to investigate it."
"Ah…okay, see about that, we might have a…working theory to share with you," Ben sighed, making the butler raised a brow, "See w-"
"Hey Ben. Everything okay out…" Naoto began as he was the last to walk out…before he took quick notice of Valkenhayn, "?!"
"...N….Naoto?" Noel spoke.
Naoto said nothing as he stared at Valkenhayn, his hands beginning to ball up into fist as he began to tremble. Before anyone could say anything, his hair flashed white as he shot right towards Valkenhayn, his fist already coated in blood red energy as he threw a punch…only for the butler to catch it as a large shockwave came off from the force of the blow.
"...May I help you, young man?" Valkenhayn questioned, keeping a calm expression on his face.
"You…WHY ARE YOU HERE?!" Naoto yelled out before he swung a kick at him, only for the butler to catch his leg before he spun him in the air a few times, Naoto quickly planting his hands on the ground before he could crash into it.
Naoto roared as he moved to punch again only for a green flash to make both him and Valkenhayn blink. Naoto looked at his arm outstretched for a punch only for three claws to be grabbing his wrist before he could even get close to the butler. The two turned to see XLR8. They blinked before Naoto was now moved away and towards the others in a blur before XLR8 reappeared in a spot between them with both of his arms held up to motion them to stop.
"Okay…let's just chill for a moment, guys," he spoke up, "This was the working theory I mentioned to you Mr. V," he explained, "And this…Naoto, might just be your biggest break in the search yet."
"?!" Naoto tensed as he quickly shot up, staring him right in the eyes, "R…Raquel…you mean…?"
"The theory that people from Makoto and Noel's world are counterparts to people from yours has been all but confirmed with this. This man is Mr. Valkenhayn, the butler to a Lady we know as Rachel. I have good reason to believe Rachel is the counterpart to Raquel, and the person Rachel has been sensing is Raquel," he turned to Valkenhayn, "Meaning she's here, and Rachel sent out Mr. V to check what this familiar presence was. Do the math, guys, you want the same thing; answers. This is it." the Kinecelaran lowered his arms slowly, "That also means the guy you're mistaking our good butler with isn't the guy you know from your world."
"...How do we know it's not a ploy?" Naoto asked as he glared at Valkenhayn, who still kept his calm expression the entire time, "He might be like how mine was…as in the man who was hunting Raquel and killed me!"
"Killed y-YOU DIED?!" Tucker, Hobble, and Danny gawked.
"Was the blood energy not a dead give away?" Sam deadpanned to the trio.
"Well…Unfortunately, you're just gonna have to gamble on finding Raquel first," XLR8 spoke up, "What's more important: fighting a guy who wasn't trying…or finding her?" he blurred up and tapped Naoto's chest, "If you care for her the way I care for Makoto, right now, the guy who killed you won't matter even a fraction as much. Right?"
"...hai…" Naoto sighed as he let out a deep exhale, trying his best to calm down.
"Look as much as I've known him, he's seemed like a trustworthy and dependable guy. I don't know everything about him yet, but after years of this back and forth with horrible monsters, I like to think I've developed a sense for when someone bad is around." XLR8 explained, "I literally had prophetic nightmares about Vilgax hunting me down, and Zs'Skayr trying to escape from my Omnitrix. While I'm sure he could kick our collective butts, I don't have reason to think he's a bad person. So yeah, okay working with the guy with the same face as the one who killed you, totally sucks. But, if this is your chance to get Raquel back, it seems like a good time to suck it up."
"I see Young Master Tennyson does indeed have a natural talent for leadership," Valkenhayn spoke up, "Rather than try to argue first with his reasons for his attack, you made him see a bigger goal. I must say, your act of immaturity is most convincing."
"Hey, try not to tell folks. I have a reputation and respectable paperwork load to keep at minimum," XLR8 waved off.
"Hmm…I can see why you would prefer things that way," the butler smirked further at that reasoning, "If it is as you say, then it would seem my counterpart from your realm is, indeed, a horrible bastard." he looked at Naoto, "While true I'm not the most innocent of men, I would never bring harm to my Lady. And if this energy she detected is indeed her counterpart from another reality? Then my oath extends to her as well. So even if we don't ever grow to like one another, young man, I promise you no harm shall form to Lady Raquel on my watch."
"...You promise?" Naoto cautiously asked.
"I promise on my family name Hellsing."
"What did he just say his family name was?" Sam whispered with wide eyes.
"I assume the irony is not lost on you due to Bram Stoker's work, is it?" XLR8 chuckled.
"Believe me, Young Master Tennyson, I am well aware of the irony," Valkenhayn laughed.
"Well…I guess this is the part where I give you the okay to go off on your mission while we're here," XLR8 turned to Naoto, "I'm sure you'll have ample backup. But just in case, I'm a call and one portal away." he turned to the rest of the team, "Unless you need some extra numbers for…moral support?"
"I-I'm good, thank you," Noel replied.
"Yeah, no…I am not getting in between a tense atmosphere like that," Tucker added.
"Same here," Hobble muttered.
"I'm still needed here," Archie added.
"I really wanted to check out the city of wolf people…" Sam admitted.
"Well, given how crazy this sounds, I don't mind offering a hand," Danny spoke up, "At the very least, I can fight off any creepy ghost types you guys can't punch." he offered.
"That…would be most helpful," Valkenhayn nodded, "Intangibility is most bothersome…"
"Thanks man," Naoto spoke up as he looked to Danny, "And thanks, Ben," he turned to the alien shape shifter, "For a lot. You actually got me to stop and focus on what was more important."
"Meh…been there, done that." he waved off, flashing back to normal, "Trust me, I know what it's like to see Red and forget the important details. Just try and focus on finding her," he walked up and held his hand out to Naoto, "We'll see you back here at the ship, hopefully with one more passenger."
"Yeah," Naoto nodded as he grabbed his hand, gripping it tightly, "And good luck getting the Relic before Baron von Creepy and Bizarro Phantom grab it."
"You know, I actually like that one," Danny spoke up, "Mind if I use that next time?" he chuckled.
"Try and keep some peace in the group," Sam spoke up, "At least with you it shouldn't be so awkward for the two."
"Most grateful for the consideration." Valkenhayn nodded with a small chuckle, "My Lady will be most interested in learning another version of her is what she's been sensing. Though it will be a bit of…how would you say, paperwork to deal with?"
"Ohh…you mean a Code: Ben," Noel nodded.
"Hey…" Ben complained, "I will carry you for the rest of this adventure for stuff like that."
"Ah!" Noel yelped, her heavy blush returning just as Ben and the others in his group began to walk off, "Th-th-that's not funny, Ben!" she squeaked as she chased after him.
"Then why am I laughing on the inside and outside?" Ben laughed as he picked up pace to keep her at a slight distance.
"MMM~!"
"Well, I guess we got our own adventure so to speak." Danny sighed to the two he was with, "Now…how do we find her?"
There are ruins located not too far from here," Valkenhayn explained, "My lady had detected that presence over there, and I was on my way to investigate it for her before an unruly group of pups tried to attack me."
"Oh right. Wild Loboans…" Danny muttered, "Well I guess if they come back, a quicker method of spooking them off could be my Ghostly Wail."
"Okay dude how many super powers and special moves do you have?" Naoto asked.
"How many do you have?" Danny retorted, "Because it seems you guys from the future-or in your case alternate reality- have a lot of them…even announce them too."
"Well yeah, all real fighters announce their moves." Naoto argued, "Ben does it when he has a real good one. And so do you, I mean 'Ghostly Wail?' That's pretty cool and spooky for an attack name."
"Hmm…to be young again," Valkenhayn chuckled silently to himself as he watched them go on about this topic, "Named attacks can be rather elegant in their own way."
Soon enough Ben and his team of Noel, Sam, Hobble, and Tucker made it into the actual Loboan village closest to their landing spot. It was easy to notice the…canine influence to most of the architecture.
"Do…they look like…?" Ben began.
"Dog houses?" Noel finished.
"Eeyup," Sam nodded.
"How?" Tucker asked.
"Well, this is just a small village and it seems these little huts…save on space," Hobble noted.
"But it's so…quiet."
"That is because no one is here." Skurd spoke up, revealing he formed Wildmutt's gills and scanned the area, "It seems everyone is out. However, it seems there are plenty of them out and about in the woods. I think they are all out hunting."
"..." Tucker said nothing as he slowly hid behind Sam.
"Tuck…"
"Empty village, complete silence, full moon out…that's already a lot of red flags."
"Tucker, we're on the moon. That is Anur Transyl," Sam corrected him.
"...That just makes it worse…"
"Shh…" Ben hushed as he listened, "They're howling up a storm, probably…"
"Somewhere around 30 to 40 meters away," Noel added.
"How'd you…" Tucker asked.
"Both of them are rather equally skilled." Hobble confirmed, "Despite how Ben acts, he's in the top scores from the Plumber Academic record. He's actually well trained in how to handle weapons thanks to his grandfather, and honestly I wouldn't be shocked if he earned that PHD of his honestly via proving he's that smart…"
"Buh…" Tucker blinked at that.
"No…I'm not telling you what it's about," Ben smirked as he could hear them, "It's how I torment my cousin."
"And Makoto torments Kajun with it," Noel added, "Oh…they're getting closer."
"I think they finished hunting," Ben explained..
"So they're coming back? To here?!" Tucker asked.
"Ohh…I think I'm getting a 'I-shouldn't-be-on-this-planet' disease…" Hobble shuddered.
"Oh that's good," Sam noted.
"...Why?" Hobble asked.
"Because we're on a moon," Sam replied.
"So technically, Hobble, you'll be fine," Ben smiled, "You can trust me; I'm technically a Doctor."
"Besides, Ben is scarier than any local we find," Noel spoke as the ground trembled from something making its way closer, "Oh my…that's a lot of Loboans…"
They flinched as a pack of Loboans of all ages, and genders raced around and over them and through the town. Each one was of drastically different fur colors, heights, sizes, and even seemingly a few who looked less wolf and more domestic dog. Several waved at them before they continued off, many carried varying mammalian beasts that ranged from something that looked like an alien rabbit with an extra set of eyes and horns to something as big as a moose with eight legs and giant boney antlers. Many howled in victory as they began setting up shops and displays in what seemed to be the center of town. Many Loboans began putting on aprons and started sharpening butchering knives.
"It's a…meat market?" Ben blinked as Noel peaked out from behind him, "Man…Drei would go nuts here…"
"Oh come now. My little adorable Drei wouldn't…well…okay, he'd probably haggle and get the best prices," Noel admitted.
"Knowing him…he'd only be interested in any game that's not related or similar to his fellow pet housemates," Ben chuckled, "The giant multi-legged moose maybe?"
"Should we take some and freeze it to bring home for him?" Noel asked.
"Ah…hmm…well…it would be nice, but flying back here for his new favorite dish would be a pain…" Ben admitted.
"You can make portals," Noel pointed out.
"Touche…we'll bring him home some for a taste," he chuckled, "You know once they're done…prepping it." he pointed over his shoulder as a large heavy set Loboan pulled out a giant cleaver that looked more like a gothic weapon out of a horror themed action game and began swinging to chop and prepare the meat.
"...h-hai…" Noel whispered, her eyes wide and her pupils dots as she shook a bit.
"You've never been to a butcher before, have ya?" Ben laughed upon seeing that, "Man, I am so desensitized after all the weird things Grandpa has prepared for dinner. Did you know you need to karate chop a squid's brain to kill it before you can cook it?"
"Seriously?" Tucker asked.
"A lot of ingredients of higher quality tend to have to be prepared in pretty unusual ways," Sam shrugged, "It helps I'm a rich girl, so I know a few of those from the chef at home."
"Come on," Ben sighed as he tapped his suit to put his helmet back on given he recalled Loboans being among those with the most over the top reaction to their human looks.
"Oh right," Noel nodded, doing the same with Sam following after.
"H-Hey wait, I never got a cool space outfit!" Tucker complained.
"Eh, I'm sure you'll be fine." Sam stated.
"That had better not be another ugly joke!" Tucker shook a fist at her.
"Not the time, Tucker." Ben spoke up as he walked up to a shop and pulled out some taydenite shards for currency, "Hello there!"
"Oh, other worldly visitors!" the butcher smiled, his accent sounding like a heavy Spanish one, "Ugh…what's that?" he pointed to Tucker, "It's…hideous."
"Oh come on!" Tucker complained.
"We know, but he's a most trusted ally for skills outside his looks," Sam laughed.
"Well to each their own amigos," he muttered before pulling out a paper back and cutting some eye holes as he stuck it over Tucker's head, "Bueno! Much better! Anyway, how may we help you travelers?"
"Well two fold," Ben spoke up as Noel eyed the selection he placed, "We are looking for some treats for a faithful and handsome beast companion back home. As well as information. We are enemies of a creepy old freak named Zs'Skayr and would like to meet with your kind's leader to discuss the potential of his…unwanted visit in the near future."
"?! …Zs'Skayr has returned?" the butcher asked.
"Don't worry. This one here…" Noel motioned to Ben, who waved, "...has defeated and even destroyed him many times. His followers are…persistent…" she sighed to explain how he did so multiple times.
"Aye…I…I had heard of that about his followers…only the most despicable of them follow that old monster…" he sighed a little, "He has been gone for ages. We had just gotten used to the peace as his fellow Ectonurites became friendly."
"We will stop him no matter what," Ben spoke up in assurance, "But, well…I think your people's leader could best help us prepare for whatever he may be searching for." he explained, "By chance, could you point us in the direction of where he…or she lives?"
"Ah…" he nodded as he wrapped up some pieces of meat in paper before handing it to Ben and exchanging the taydenite shards for it, "Our people used to be not but wild packs 'till long before the destruction of our home planet. A family of powerful, wise and noble Loboans rose to unite all under one flag to keep our kind safe. Sadly, some refused to submit and kept to the wild. Bunch of animals…" he sighed as Ben handed the meat to Noel who opened a pouch on her belt that let out a cool air before she put it in and closed it, "But the clan who lead us, the Cazador family, they keep us united, they set forth the rules to prevent needless bloodshed. The keepers of our history and ways."
"So they are the leaders," Ben nodded, "Thank you very much," he bowed his head.
"You shall find them at the top of the mountain, the village atop that is their home. Be warned, they are a fabled warrior clan who train not only in the art of the hunt but in battle and have defended our kind from danger." he explained, pointing towards a mountain nearby.
"Thank you, sir," Ben thanked.
"Make sure your amigo keeps that bag on his head for your own safety," he warned as they left, "Also there are children around here!" he laughed.
"Why I outta…" Tucker shook his fist at him.
"Oh this is gonna be a great story to tell our future coworkers," Sam smirked.
"I know you're smirking under that cool space helmet…" Tucker complained.
"Alien jerky?" Noel asked, holding up a small paper bag filled with alien animal jerky to Tucker.
"..." Tucker accepted the bag, "This doesn't mean I'm not gonna grumble after this is all done with. Just means I won't now."
"You do you, man," Sam rolled her eyes a bit as the group began to walk off.
"We should be careful. It sounds like these Cazadors are a really tough crowd," Ben spoke up a little seriously, "At worst, they'll attack us. At best, trial by combat."
"How is trial by combat the best option?" Hobble asked.
"Because I get to fight," Ben replied simply, "Our team consists of three sharp shooters, Tucker who is our noncombatant, and me." he explained, "If it's a simple one v one…I got it handled."
"Don't sound too confident," Noel spoke up, "You have a lot of powers, but a skilled weapon expert can be very difficult to fight."
"Well I'm sorry if I'm just used to fighting an evil space overlord who prefers to just settle it with fists and eye lasers," Ben laughed, "I'm pretty sure by this point I have solid skills."
"Hmm…" Noel pouted at that, "Your ego is showing again."
"Sorry you must have a cute fluffy tail for that line to hit me at full power. But nice try~" Ben chuckled.
"Do they always get along this well?" Sam asked Hobble.
"Well I haven't spent much time with both of them like this. Me and Noel meet and talk at the shooting range and artillery. And Ben's often too distracted being well…Ben." Hobble admitted, "But I'm not surprised. Ben does live with her and the others. They've been on more world saving adventures then we can count," he shrugged, "I guess it can't be much different then you and your friendship with Danny and Tucker."
"I guess you're right," Sam nodded.
"Though curious…why ask?"
"Just curious I guess," Sam shrugged, 'Should probably pay attention to how he acts around his other housemates if I can later.'
"Ah~! Gghhh~! Ghhh!- Ohhh…gonna feel that in the m-OH! Thai is bearxcutionaly painful!""
*POP POP POP POP POP!*
"With our powers combined, we are the MonoKubs!" the five kubs declared as they landed.
"Oh…oh…oh I hate that!" Monokuma complained, sweating literal buckets as he was hunched over, "Why do I have that feature…~!?"
"Duh…the miracle of birth and its despair of pain," Junko blurted out as she scrolled through a phone, "After we finished your infinite regen I programmed a retrieval program for your chibis. I figure since you're made from my imagination…you should have that feature."
"But did it have to be Mogwai style?!" Monokuma complained, "My back felt like someone was making popcorn on it...and not in a good way!"
"Well it's not like I wanted to program the data for a…well…you know…womb…" she cringed, "This was easier and quicker. Besides your a nightmare of nonsense as is, did you know somehow we made you a wifi signal booster?"
"...I HAVE WIFI?!"
"I also put Minecraft in you," Junko replied.
"I have what?!"
"Ooh~! I can go nuts and make some n-" Monokid began.
"No~! Don't ruin the sanctity of Minecraft!" Monophanie whined as she slapped him on the head with a stick.
"OW! What was that for?!" Monokid complained.
"It's an amazing game!" Monopahnie argued, "Don't mess with it!"
"I'll mess with what I wanna mess with!"
"What game are we talking about?" Monotaro blinked.
=! !W! Minecraft…=
"Oh~ I thought we had a mission or something, Monodom…"
"Freakin' idiots," Monosuke facepalmed.
"I guess I should have worked on your brain more than testing if you can run apps and games." Junko sighed.
Monokuma groaned, facepalming…before laughing, "Oh~ This feels great! The feeling of Despair from this is delicious!"
"There's the mental data from me at work," Junko smirked, "Been a minute since the ghost boys left to collect stuff…Boss~? What happened to the guys you went to all the trouble to free?"
"Patience, Junjun. Everything's going according to plan," Hazama assured as he leaned against a tree, flicking one of his butterfly daggers up and down in the air, "By now, our little group of 'heroes' is already on Luna Lobo and likely getting close to getting the last Relic."
"Meaning ol' Skayr and Big Dan will be going after them!"
"Nuh uh…they'll be the distraction," Hazama smirked, "Whenever you plan something out…always be ready to integrate plan A into plan B, where if one fails the other succeeds and vice versa~"
"Oh? And what…" Junko began.
"Why do I smell roses suddenly?" Monokuma began before parts of the ground began to electrify.
"And there's the back up option…" Hazama smirked, one of his snake chains coming out as it grabbed him and Junko before flinging them into the air...just as a massive bolt of electricity crashed down, zapping Monokuma and the kubs in the process.
"Mmm…of all beings to be here, it had to be you," Rachel's voice echoed throughout the area as a tornado of roses formed in the ground, knocking the robotic bears away further as the young vampiress appeared.
"Heh heh…well couldn't have stayed under your radar for a while," Hazama smirked, resting on top of a tree branch as he looked down, "And telling by the look on your face…oh ho~ I'm interrupting an important search, aren't I~?"
"..."
"You know for being an Observer...you're doing a lot of interfering ya know," Hazama smirked further at her, "The job of the Observer is to not interfere with a timeline of any kind."
'Observer? Not interfere with a timeline?' Junko pondered, filing it away.
"Well I suppose that is how the job is supposed to be. However, it would seem that this new world now we call home, I'm allowed to take…now what would an oaf like you and your little tramp call it? Ah yes, Vacation days," Rachel replied simply as she didn't even bother to look up at them, instead choosing to inspect her nails, "You'd be amazed at the things this world offers not just you, but me as well. It hardly counts as interference, given you aren't supposed to be part of the story. But if you are so desperate to play the serpent that gets slain by the heroic knight on horseback…or a drunken brutish hero…"
"So you're comparing me to the dragon from the story of St. George?" Hazama laughed, "Is it because he shared a sword with him? Or are you just being clever?" he chuckled.
"It would seem in both situations…he's faced far worse than just a dragon," Rachel replied, "Stubborn and prideful, he may be. But then again what knight hasn't had those qualities. Though the irony isn't lost on me given what you are and what he's battled. It just means I don't need to worry about how you'll fall, but…you most certainly shall fall."
"Well now…no need for spoilers. The ending has yet to be written for this tale afterall," Hazama replied, "Now…why attack me out of thin air like that?"
"You already know the answer, I'm not going to keep this Shakespearean back and forth up for your amusement," Rachel sighed, "So how about we cut to the chase, what are your plans for…this other being I sense?"
"I suppose you don't know everything, do you? You wouldn't believe me…or like the answer. But trust me, the end goal is gonna be a real Monster Mash," Hazama giggled, "But you're just gonna have to wait 'till the big surprise like good ol' Benny Boy~!"
"Upupupupu…" Monokuma snickered, "Boy, he's getting you good."
"Hey, you be silent about our mistress, you bucket of bolts!" Gii growled.
"Indeed," Nago agreed, "A philistine such as yourself obviously has no clue as to any actual plans that go on with those who vastly outmatch your own wit."
"Sh-Shut up! You're items! You're not even people!" Monokuma snapped.
"Oh please…we're Familiars," Nago scoffed.
"We're far better than you~" Gii teased.
"Nago, Gii," Rachel spoke.
"Yes, milady…"
"Now…I shall ask again, Yuuki Terumi…" Rachel paused, her eyes glowing a bit red as the ground around her crackled with a magenta-colored electricity, "What is your end goal in all this?"
"...heh. Well...I need something fun to do while I wait for a certain something~" Hazama…no… Terumi smirked as he lifted his hat up a bit, "And believe me…shit will hit the fan even worse."
"You refer to Vilgax the Destroyer, do you not?"
"Yes. But…hmm hmm hmm…" Terumi chucked a bit as he held a finger up, "Think higher than a tyrant king…"
"..." Rachel said nothing as she wasted no time in tapping her umbrella down, causing a blast of lighting to try and hit the green-haired individual.
"Bingo~! And we have our winner!" Terumi laughed, flying through the air backwards as he flipped onto another tree branch, "I do believe the young lady has earned herself a prize~"
"I should've known…you know where they are, do you?" Rachel demanded in a neutral tone, yet it did not hide the slight anger in her eyes.
'They?' Junko mentally repeated.
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't! Care to palace that bet, you vampire brat?!" Terumi cackled before one of his chains deflected a blast of electricity, sending it crashing into a set of nearby trees, "Things aren't gonna turn out like in our old world. I've hidden under the radar for so long, it was easy to get away with shit with you people! Hell, even Viglax doesn't know what I'm planning, because all he's obsessed about is a green-wearing little shit with a fancy watch!"
"Yes…but eventually, every snake..." Rachel began as she rose her umbrella up, only to grunt when energy coursed through her body, "?! Gh…wh-what…"
"I knew I'd get to use this at some point…shame Phantom's no longer around to see it take effect," Terumi smirked as a magic seal appeared behind Rachel, forcing her up into the air as multiple binding and seals trapped her in place, "Your prize, Ms. Alucard! A special trap seal made specifically just for you."
"Ngh…this magic…" Rachel grunted as she tried to free herself, in turn dropping Nago to the ground as Gii fell on top of him.
"Ooh~" Junko couldn't help the bit of awe escape her lips, her eyes looking at each and every bit of detail in the seal's structure.
"See, vampires like you are a real tricky lot considering you're masters of the dark arts, so I had to think outside the box with Phantom's help," Terumi explained, taking his fedora off as he spun it around on his finger, "The moment you unleash any type of powerful magic attack towards me, it'll activate the trap…trapping you within a highly powerful 'cage' that prevents you from moving, using magic, or trying to contact your mutt of a butler or Tennyson and his group of meddling kids."
"You…you had this ready and waiting for me? All this time?" Rachel questioned with a frowned, "Impossible…this world is not locked within a Continuum Shift."
"Exactly! It's a blank slate…one I can manipulate how I wish~!" Terumi laughed as he paced about, Junko grabbing her phone as she took multiple pictures of the seals, "It's like the ultimate game of cards! Both you so-called 'good guys and bad guys' are separated into different cards in a deck, but me? I'm just the wildcard…the joker, baby!"
"Ngg…m-mila-reow!" Nago yeowled as Monokuma and the Monokubs tackled him, Gii rolling away from the resulting chaos, "AHH! Help!"
"Hold still, furball!"
"Wh-HOW DARE YOU, YOU HORRID B-MEOW!"
"Now Junjun, while your precious bears are having fun with the familiars, let's get to finding a certain someone~" Terumi smirked as he flipped his hat back on, "They'll keep the brat company…least until they're bored."
"You betcha!" Junko replied as she followed him as they walked away from the sight.
"N…nggh…" Gii winced as he fluttered up as best he could, using the chance to try and fly away.
"And this is a reason why everyone in the house has an emergency plush on hand," Ben explained as they were approaching the top of the mountain, the two from Amity Park looking at the content Noel riding upon her elephant-sword's back…with a plush of a green cat-like creature that seemed to have hints of plant life in its motif.
"How do you even afford to have so many plushies?" Tucker asked.
"Oh, that's from my training with Lambda," Ben explained, "I've been working on being able to use Clockwork around the guys from that far future. The good news is that I can handle about ten minutes around someone from that time without vomiting a time portal. The bad news is that it still happens, but it's just random objects."
"Wait, why Lambda?" Sam asked.
"Oh…she tries to make me fail on purpose so I will end up barfing up a time portal that will produce another Playstation 5," Ben explained, "I need to stress test it. She stresses me on purpose. Makoto and the others would be too nice and help me stop it. No, Lambda will throw pepper in my face to make me lose control."
"I'm sorry, but a Playstation 5?" Tucker repeated.
"With VR headset. But that's not important at the moment," Ben waved it off.
"...no, seriously. What's this about a PS…" Tucker began.
"Paon," Funkfreed gently tapped his bag-covered head.
"Hey, what did I…?" Tucker began before Funkfreed wrapped his trunk around his mouth area, "Mmmph?!"
"Listen," Ben advised, his voice softer now.
"We are being watched," Skurd confirmed.
"Mm?!" Tucker grunted as Funkfreed tightened his trunk to make him be silent.
"I think it's been the better part of a minute since the noises began…" Ben spoke up as he walked forward, "Skurd, how many?"
"I detect…two…no, three, in the foliage and the trees." Skurd whispered as he crawled up and coiled around Ben's arm to stop near his ear, "Fast, at least one is…but they have us flanked."
"Likely threat assessment," Ben guessed.
"And you just had to have the 420 cat plush and not the cinnamon dachshund," Skurd pointed out.
"Makoto has the dog ones to try and help with her phobia. I kept the feline ones. And focus," Ben responded, "We spring things or let them approach us first?"
"Given one is so much more skilled and fast, we'd need to pick the two or the one. That leaves the others to deal with the option we didn't pick, now doesn't it?" Skurd nodded slowly, "At the very least if we get them in front of us…we can deal with them. But given this is a society of hunters…I worry they sensed a large beast they never saw before."
"...You're right," Ben spoke, "Everyone keep near Funkfreed." he ordered, "Sam, you and Hobble protect his flanks, Tucker, hide under him. Loboans have wolf-like instincts so they won't go for a low weak spot if they see someone there. Noel will react if they attack from high up," he ordered, not even needing to look to see Noel had put the plush away and had Bolverk at the ready.
"So who are we going for?" Skurd asked.
"The fast one," Ben smiled, "You sensed two faster then the third…that one's the dangerous one."
"Oh ho…so would Garumaru be sufficient?"
"Let's save him for a last resort," Ben replied, "Let's meet them Loboan to Loboan."
"Good choice." in a green flash, everyone flinched as Blitzwolfer howled and leapt into the air and tackled into a cloaked figure as the two slammed into the ground and wrestled around.
Blitzwolfer growled as he swung his claw and knocked the cloaked figure back and sent them sliding along the ground. He snarled as two more figures came out only for one to be blasted by Blitzwolfer's sonic howl. The second flinched before being slammed down by Blitzwolfer.
"Stay…" he growled as he turned around as the cloaked figure rushed and smacked him away, "Okay…let's go then!" he snarled, pouncing and tackling the cloaked Loboan over as they tumbled along the ground.
"Oh…Oh…Brother…I got blasted like if it was Big Brother…" the one Loboan groaned as he laid on his back, "It even moved like him…"
"You said it, hermano," the other grunted before his nose twitched, "Hm?"
"What is it?" the first of the two asked.
"I am smelling a strange smell…yet it is also a good smell?" he replied.
"Hm?" the first sniffed, "Oh, I am smelling it, too."
"Wait, what was it we had to do?" the second asked after a moment, they then turned as Blitzwolfer tossed the cloaked one away, "Ah…he's giving Hermana a hard time…"
"Big Brother will be mad if he finds out we let her do all the fighting again…"
"But it does look like she's having fun and we did try to help, but he's more like another Alpha," the second pointed out.
"Si…That…That's true, hermano."
"Plus…" he trailed off as his nose twitched, "Gah! What is with that good smell?! It's like someone's sizzled the fattiest part of one of our prey with some smoked cheese!"
"Hm? Bacon and cheddar?" Noel pondered as she patted her pockets and pulled out a baggie with dog treats, "Oh, I forgot to give these to Lachan for Drei since we'd be away for so long."
"Look!" the first pointed rather dramatically, "The good smell, Hermano…the small alien is the source of the good smell!"
"She called it…Ba-con…and Ched-dar…" the second said slowly.
"H-Hey!" Blitzwolfer complained, "We're fighting here!" he snarled as he knocked their sister back with a backhand, "I got serious and everything…and…grrr…you're not even gonna be a threat!?"
"Ah! Now he does sound like Big Brother!" they both panicked as they held onto one another.
"Seriously you two?!" their sister snarled.
"But the good smell!" they pointed to Noel.
"It's Drei's doggy treats," Noel explained to Blitzwolfer.
"Why would…oh you have got to be kidding me…" Blitzwolfer groaned as his ears drooped, "You mean the high quality trainer treats for the family dog…work on alien werewolves?!"
"It works on those two idiotas," the cloaked Loboan growled in exasperation.
"Uhm…Sit?" Noel spoke as the two brothers plopped down, making her tilt her head before tossing them each a treat, "Uhm…yeah it works, Ben…"
"Oh come on…" Blitzwolfer slapped his face in exasperation, "For once in my life, I feel ashamed to be the same species as someone…"
"Try being their hermana," the cloaked Loboan sighed, pulling back her hood to reveal a more feminine-looking Loboan with long wild white hair and sharp red eyes with her right ear missing a bit of it while her left sported a silver earring.
"Hermana! Hermana, the small one has brought something muy delicioso!" the first exclaimed.
"It is beyond even that, hermano," the second awed, causing the female Loboan to slap them both upside the heads.
"Raul, I swear that stomach keeps getting you into trouble," she growled at the second, "And Zev, you are supposed to make sure his stomach doesn't get you both into trouble!" she slapped a hand to her face, "Ugh…And there goes my adrenaline rush at fighting someone that seems as strong as our elder brother."
"Hah…see, this is why I almost never get serious unless it's Vilgax…" Blitzwolfer groaned as he gently tapped his snout into Funkfreed, the elephant patting him on the head with his trunk for comfort, "Also, am I just now noticing Loboan sounds like Spanish?"
"No…that's just the best your translators can translate their language's unique sounds…" Skurd replied, "With how diverse alien languages are, Human designated translation devices give certain languages very familiar accents. Why do you think the Transylians have a sort of Eastern European accent?"
"Huh…Never thought of it that way," Blitzwolfer noted.
"Huh….neat," Tucker added.
"We should be happy we settled this with less violence," Noel spoke while jumping down next to Blitzwolfer.
"Hah…you know I always want violence…" Blitzwolfer sighed.
"Mm mhm, and you wonder why Tsubaki scolds you and Makoto alot."
"Hmph…" he crossed his arms and turned away as he flicked his tail at her.
"Come on, don't be pouty." Noel laughed at that as she pulled out one of the treats, "Do you want one as well?"
"I don't eat the same food as Drei," he grumbled.
"May we have it?" the two Loboan brothers asked, only to be kicked by their sister.
"You are one devious woman," she pointed at Noel.
"Hm?" Noel tilted her head in honest confusion.
"Well it seems the smell is intoxicating to the dumb ones…far as they know you have magical treats," Blitzwolfer muttered.
"Why aren't you falling for the smell?" Noel asked.
"Well when I first turned into this guy as a kid, when I called it Benwolf, I did have a rather…unnerving desire for protein…" Blitzwolfer muttered, "Like a bowl of milk filled with raw eggs and an entire roast chicken in under five minutes." he chuckled, "I ate everything in the RV's fridge and freezer."
"You mean the time your transformation glitched and it took hours instead of…you know…being instant?" Noel asked, earning a nod, "I guess your younger self couldn't control your instincts."
"It was extra embarrassing for little me due to being my first crash and burn crush," he chuckled as he flashed back to normal Ben, making the three Loboans all blink and jump back in surprise. "But I don't like making jokes about it, Makoto gets really upset about it. I love her for it, but now I feel like laughing at the memory."
"Well it was still rude, she wanted to keep you as a pet." Noel pouted as she held a treat and guided the two brothers around with the scent before tossing it and making them fight one another for it.
"They are getting beaten by a snack…the shame you bring to our family…" their sister groaned, shaking her head.
"Mine! Mine! Mine!" They grunted as the snack tumbled away before both of them scrambled after it only to smack into Funkfreed's legs, making the devil fruit enhanced weapon turned pachyderm tumble over and sit on both of them, "GEH!" they cried out in pain.
"...And I just had to leave my phone at home," their sister sighed, shaking her head, "Prime Externet content."
"So uhm…is this a win for us?" Noel asked.
"I'd rather not count it," Ben shook his head, "Funkfreed, can you get off them? It feels embarrassing talking to them like that."
"Paon!" he saluted as he got up and moved around to sit behind Noel.
"Good boy."
"Uh, guys? The thing?" Sam reminded them.
"Oh right!" Noel and Ben nodded.
"It was so goofy…we forgot." Skurd added, "I was all set for combat…I had already eaten some DNA for a boost in power."
"Look, awkward start, but we are looking for the folks who live atop the mountain. Their leader has a relic of great importance we want to safeguard before Zs'Skayr shows up to try and claim it." Ben explained.
"Ah!" the brothers gasped, "The Necklace of the Alpha!"
"...follow me," the sister spoke up as she turned, motioning for them to follow her as she began to walk off…before walking back and grabbing her two brothers by the ears, "That means you too, idiotas."
"Ow-ow-ow!" they cried out in pain.
"At least we're not fighting…for now…" Ben sighed.
"It's an improvement," Noel nodded.
"...Spanish speaking werewolves…" Tucker whispered as he and the others began to follow the Loboans, "...Sam, doesn't that remind you of a certain Esperanto-speaking ghost wolf that ghost warden sent after Danny?"
"It…can't…well…" Sam paused, "I mean I just thought he was a ghost being a ghost…but could it be?"
"...can it?" Tucker asked back as they looked at one another.
"You guys coming?" Noel called out as she jumped on Funkfreed's back and rode after the Loboan siblings.
"Right!" they called out following after them.
'Okay, Naoto…remain calm...and remember this isn't you know who…' Naoto thought as he, Danny, and Valkenhayn were walking through a series of old ruins, 'He just..looks a lot older…and greyer…plus he did help before I got separated form Raquel in the multiverse….unless this is him, but he's putting a facade! ...no no. Ben says he's pretty chill, and he promised he'd protect Raquel the same as this Rachel girl…'
'Oh he's freaking out…' Danny blinked as he looked at Naoto.
'Oh dear, the poor boy is having a horrible internal struggle. Thankfully it seems Young Master Tennyson's words are keeping him from spiraling into violence again. Well until we find a new subject to point him at…but that's a bridge for later.' Valkenhayn thought to himself without needing to turn back and look at Naoto.
"...so….what do you think was originally here?" Danny finally spoke up, hoping to break the silent tension going on right now.
"I can't begin to guess myself, Young Master Fenton. You see I am not a hidden intellectual like Young Master Tennyson is." Valkenhayn explained, "And My Lady and I are still learning much of what this world has to offer. In our original home so to speak, someone fiddled with time, so we often had a good deal of information about potential events, past and future. Here, well the future is ever changing and unpredictable. So too is the past," he explained, "But in my experience, ruins are often either a good or a bad sign. They point to lost history or things meant to be hidden and never found."
"So in short…a very annoying mystery?" Danny asked.
"Oh indeed," the butler nodded.
"Ben's got like a dozen options to spoil the mystery." Naoto muttered, "He can turn into Greymatter or Brainstorm and run every potential answer in his head a thousand times 'till he figures out the most likely answer. Or just go Clockwork and rewind time to see what happened."
"Ben must be a blessing and a curse when it comes to things like escape rooms." Danny muttered.
"I believe Young Master Tennyson would sooner bash the walls down then solve the puzzles." Valkenhayn chuckled.
"Eh heh…you're probably not wrong there," Naoto chuckled a bit, rubbing the back of his head before stopping, "..."
"...you sensed it too, didn't you?" Valkenhayn frowned a bit.
"...yeah," Naoto replied, hsi hair flashing white as a group of feral Loboans began to crawl out of the shadows, fangs and claws bared
"Why are there so many feral ones?" Danny asked.
"Well civilized ones have normal lives, these…just live out in nature like animals." Valkenhayn spoke, "They refused to intermingle with the other races in the Anur system it seems."
"Yeah…and I think they're looking for a midnight snack," Danny added as he quickly went ghost.
"You know how to fight, right?" Naoto questioned the butler.
"Hmm hmm…well I was able to fend you off easily before, boy…"
"..then let's see you back those skills up!" Naoto shouted as he quickly spun a roundhouse kick, kicking away a pouncing Loboan as the pack began to charge right at the trio.
"Let's try scaring them all off," Danny spoke as he took a deep breath before letting loose one of his strongest powers: the Ghostly Wail. As he unleashed the haunting Ghostly Wail, the green sonic wave blasted down trees and multiple Loboans who clutched their ears in pain.
"Hm…rather powerful," Valkenhayn noted, tilting his head to the side as he avoided a claw swipe from a Loboan, taking a step back to avoid another swipe. He crossed his arms behind his back as he easily avoided the flurry of slashes from the Loboan, another soon joining as the butler swayed and moved out of the way of each of their slashes.
Naoto grunted spinning around to punch a Loboan before spinning around to toss it into the path of Danny's Ghostly Wail. He grunted raising his arm to block the swing of another before punching it in the chest and moving his arm back before slamming his palm into its chest to knock the Loboan back.
Valkenhayn continued to easily dodge some of the slashes from a few Loboans, moving his body to the side to avoid a lunge. He quickly began to dust himself off a bit before his hand quickly rose up, grabbing the claw of a Loboan that tried to strike him.
"Mmm…I had a feeling you were the same ones from before," Valkenhayn whispered, the Loboan struggling to free itself from his grip, "Hah…you young pups didn't learn from the first time, didn't you?" a roar was his response, "..."
"I think they're in their rebellious phase." Naoto spoke uppercutting a Loboan.
"So…what? It's a bunch of Teen Wolves?" Danny asked, blasting another Loboan.
"Yes. Young rebel wolves often hunt in packs...and often hunt the biggest animal closeby with one becoming the alpha," Valkenhayn informed, flipping the Loboan onto its back before he ducked to avoid a lunge.
"Then why attack us?!" Naoto shouted as he elbowed another, "Neither me nor Danny count as some apex predator or something."
"...hmm hmm," Valkenhayn chuckled a bit as he stood in place, a small group of Loboans lunging straight at him..only to end up crashing into each other as a silver furred wolf with a mane of white going down its neck shot out of the pile up, the butler's ribbon seen tied to the end of its tail.
"...did….did he just turn into a wolf?" Danny blinked.
"That's why…they sense you…and you're the strongest thing shy of Ben around here!" Naoto realized.
Valkenhayn howled in response as he began to bolt around the area, practically becoming a blur as he shot around the remaining Loboans, often shooting past one in a silver-spiral as it was sent flying into the air.
"...wait. If he can turn into a wolf, wouldn't that make him….a werewolf?" Danny asked as he and Naoto looked at one another.
"Well…vampires both magical and alien exist…" Naoto muttered.
"...fair point."
"Maybe we should deal with these jerks," Naoto spoke up as he spun around and punched another Loboan to the ground.
"...good idea," Danny nodded before he did a quick roundhouse another Loboan, knocking it to the ground.
With Ben's team as they followed the three Cazador siblings, who helped them around some set traps to capture either trespassers or prey. With the path becoming a zig-zagging path carved into the steeper mountain side, Funkfreed returned to sword mode as they followed the Loboans up their way. In this case, most of them were clinging to Humungousaur's back as the Vaxasaurian climbed up the path like a ladder.
"Okay, I get it's easier to climb on someone who can just scale the thing…but…why am I the transport?" Humungousaur asked.
"You are currently 60 feet tall…and climbing this like a set of very steep stairs." Noel pointed out, sitting on his shoulder.
Well, yeah, but you'd think they'd have some easier way to get up here."
"There used to be a elevator, but two certain someones broke it."
"He did it," both brothers pointed at one another before they began slapping one another's claw away, "No! You did it, you…" they grunted as they began wrestling.
"Can I step on them?" Humungousaur asked.
"...I'll allow it." their sister replied.
"Que?!"
"Ben, no! We're guests!" Noel complained.
"But they are so…" Humungousaur motioned to them, "Even the sister said it would be okay…"
"Even still, we're supposed to be on an important mission and are guests…we don't need to cause any trouble with their older brother," Noel declared.
"You're just saying that because they're giving you the puppy dog eyes."
"N-No!" Noel squeaked as she blushed…before slumping as the two Loboan brothers were looking at her with wide watery eyes, "Yes…"
"Called it~" Humungousaur laughed.
"Mmm~!"
"Seriously, I can't tell if they're flirting or not…" Sam muttered quietly to Tucker.
"No kidding…plus isn't B-oh no. Wait. Right…" Tucker quickly recalled, "...I am still so jealous of him…"
"You say as you are clinging to his shoulder to avoid walking up this path." Sam replied.
"I can be complex…." Tucker replied.
"Since when?"
"Is there not a better place?!" Hobble called out as he was holding onto the Vaxsaurian's tail as he used the spikes as handles to hold onto.
"Two shoulders. Me and Noel called dibs and Tucker gets stuck between the back dorsal plates," Sam explained.
"Ah geez…are we at least close yet?"
"Looks like it, I see the summit," the Vaxasaurian replied.
"Oh thank god/Celestiaspiens..." Tucker and Hobble sighed in relief.
"Up next, meeting their big brother that is apparently scarier than they were in their attack up until the brothers smelled Drei's treats."
"Ulp!" Hobble and Tucker gulped, going stark white.
"Hmm?" Noel blinked as the sister whispered something to her, "Okay," she took two treats and tossed them over her shoulder, the brother scrambling to jump after them, "Wasn't that mean?"
"Worth it," she laughed as the two tumbled down the steep incline.
"...They'll be okay, right?"
"...Yes."
'If not for her phobia, I'd bet Makoto would get along well with her,' Humungosaur mentally chuckled.
"We've arrived," the sister spoke as the Vaxasaurian finished his climb, ending up standing before the entrance to a small village that, unlike the last one they saw, was more stone and adobe bricks with structures bearing a more respectful, yet ominous, feel to them.
Everyone got off of Humungosaur, letting him change back, before the sister spoke up, "Follow me to mi hermano mayor."
"Got it," Ben nodded as he and the others began to follow her towards the main structure. As they did…they heard something. An almost…haunting whistling as mist permeated the area.
"I'm sorry, but this whole way here, we never got your name," Noel pointed out as she hid behind Ben while they began walking.
"We tend to just follow folks when it becomes important," Skurd spoke, crawling up to Ben's shoulder to be visible, the entire time the slimbiote used his ability to form Vulpimancer gills to scan the area.
"It's Silina," she replied, "Our eldest brother is Segador and the strongest Loboan of all Loboans on Luna Lobo."
Tucker let out a groan under his breath.
"What? What?" Hobble quietly asked.
"Got a translator on you?" Tucker asked.
"Yes," Hobble replied.
"Look up the word 'Segador' and translate it from Spanish to English and then your native language," Tucker replied.
Hobble raised a brow but quickly did so…before letting out a wheeze of fright, "Who names their kid that?"
"Ha! Loboans don't name their kids; the kids name themselves," Silina laughed, "When we find something that clicks with our identity, that is when we name ourselves."
"I don't get it," Noel spoke up.
"His name in Earth Spanish translates to 'reaper." Sam explained, "I bet it means the same here due to irony."
"...oh," Noel whispered in absolute worry before the whistling grew louder.
"So the town has mood music. Is that someone's job like a well-watcher?" Ben asked.
"Oh no…that's not the well-watcher," Silina informed as she approached a pair of doors, opening them wide open to reveal the darkness within, "It's our eldest brother."
The group blinked a bit at that when suddenly…before they even realized it, there was a giant of a Loboan standing in the center of them, a cloak covering a majority of their body while a pair of red eyes glowed form within the hood...all while the haunting whistling came from the figure itself. Sam nearly jumped if not for Ben's hand on her shoulder as the other was…scratching at the air above the left side of Noel's head.
"...What a-" Sam began, noticing the odd mannerism Ben was doing above a confused Noel's head.
"Sorry…force of habit…" Ben apologized.
Silina looked over at Hobble and Tucker. She quirked a brow as she noticed how both didn't move a bit. She waved a hand before them…before both fell over backward, foam spilling out of their mouths.
Hobble Own Count: 8
"Silina, mi hermana, you bring unusual company," the Loboan spoke, "Rich in many of the worlds, "Millgan…G'rrnay…Khufos…" an unsettling growl escaped his lips, the surprisingly cold breath of the Loboan grazing the back of Ben's neck, "...Ormerow…" he walked past them, his cloak fluttering just a hint, "You've been quite the tourists of the Anur System, haven't you?"
"So word gets around of some weirdly armored folks making a mess," Ben spoke up before they looked to Tucker, "That's our new rookie, the Bombastic Bagman."
"I got that one," Skurd spoke up.
"Segador…" Silina began before the Loboan laughed.
"Oh, word has nothing to do with it, amigo," Segador spoke, "It's the scent on your bodies that tell me. The salty airs of Millgana, the shawarma sold in Khufos, even the lone swamp of G'rrnay. That idioto still owes me for that one relic he traveled here to find." he hackles raised, "I even smell the decay of those blights of Ormerow, but it has gotten worse since the last I…experienced…that planet's smells." his nose then sniffed a bit more, "But…there's more as well. A scent of one…no, a few, who should have died yet will not obey life's guidance are on you, often in bloodshed."
"I do have a friend who's half ghost…one or two who are half-vampire. Buh…I can turn into several ghost-like aliens…oh and I've died at least twice." Ben explained.
"..." Segador's ears went up beneath his hood, his red eyes turning to Silina, "You brought him here? Him and that wretched device?"
"W-Wretched?" Noel repeated.
"Care to share with the class, Wolfy?" Skurd asked, "It sounds like you know something about the…Omnitrix."
"How do you guys know about the Omnitrix? From my experience your sector of space is super isolated," Ben asked, "I mean, heck…you guys find most Alien races to be downright ugly…"
"Keyword being most," Segador replied as he tossed a phone-like device to Silina, "You dropped this before the hunt again, mi hermana."
"Ack!" Silina yelped, fumbling with the device before sighing in relief as she managed to catch it, "Hey, watch it, hermano! I'm still paying it off!"
"Okay…right…Externet…" Ben sighed, "I swear if you got info on me from the forums…the same forums that think I'm some sort of He-Man super warrior who can fight without transformations…"
"But Ben…you can fight without transforming…" Noel reminded.
"Not that well," Ben argued, "For crying out loud, Noel, you're stronger than me when I'm like this."
"Eh?"
"You guys know she's got, like, superhuman powers, right?" Ben turned to the others as he pointed to Noel.
"All I know is that, outside of her cooking, she has a sword that becomes an elephant, a mink that was mutated and can now become an alien predator, guns with unlimited ammo that can transform…and, apparently, a very smart corgi," Sam replied.
"Well…I'm not strong like Ben's big bulky aliens…but technically I am stronger than well…most humans." Noel sheepishly explained, "But it's not like me or any of our friends have ever actually…beat Ben." she added as she motioned to him, "There is a reason why he has so many wins under his belt. The one time we got stuck as his aliens…we were stumbling over our own feet and freaking out. Transforming is hard…"
"Which leads us back to a certain word from our good Loboan," Skurd spoke up, gesturing to Segador, "What, exactly, do you mean by calling the Omnitrix 'wretched,' hm?"
"It spits upon the greatest fundamental of life itself," Segador replied, growling, "It laughs at death itself and allowed Zs'Skayr to revive. I smell his scent upon you when I know that he perished."
"Dude, I've killed him like three times when I was ten," Ben sighed, earning some looks from the Loboan siblings, "It was easy, I literally beat him without changing both times…"
"You killed him?!" Noel gasped, "You failed to mention that!"
"Well I mean…first time was when he got out of the original Omnitrix…I burned him with the sun…second time was in space where we opened the hatch of a spaceship to expose him to pure sunlight in space…after that…I'm not sure how he got free again. Heck, he took over Vilgaxia and I had to absorb him into myself again…I'm not proud of that one…I had to let Vilgax beat me…" he crossed his arms and turned away, "I got even…but still…"
"You…killed Zs'Skayr multiple times?" Silina asked in shock.
"I mean, yeah…he's just another of my long list of freaks who wanted to kill me…" Ben replied, "He comes back like a spectral undead cockroach. I needed my new friend's help to literally rip him out of my soul."
"It's…sadly not as metal as it sounds." Sam spoke up.
"...Wait, how did you even know about that…or that my Omnitrix has a failsafe…God damn forums!" Ben snapped as he threw his hands up into the air, "It isn't enough some jerks think they know how my life should be, now someone is leaking my secrets…what's next? My old junk from my parents' garage sales?"
"That…was actually from the Externet live action show," Silina noted, "Our other brothers like it."
"Really?" Noel tilted her head, "But aren't humans…you know, ugly to your kind?"
"Their cabezas have always been scrambled," Silina huffed, "I think Padre dropped them off the mountain as pups."
"He called it training…leaving us in the forest and telling us to find a way home…" Segador sighed, "What is this…we are not even talking about the same thing anymore. This was about that horrible insult of a watch. The concept of walking in the steps of another is noble…but to intervene in the course of life and death. To be a cheat…how does one learn to value life like that?"
"W-Wait…you think Ben is bad because…he doesn't die fighting his enemies?" Noel asked.
"Meh…I've heard worse…I've taken worse," Ben shrugged.
"Such a frivolous and flippant attitude, do you not hear anything I am saying? This failsafe, knowing you will never truly die…it is like a gato abusing its supposed multiple lives."
"Well…I'm just more sure I'll win," Ben replied, "I have to win. If I don't, more people will get hurt. So I can't die fighting some evil overlord or monster. Because I can't afford to."
Segador growled as he shot back around, his eyes glowing fiercely as he glared down at Ben while pulling out a pair of sickle blades. However, Ben didn't move an inch…he just glared at him back, the look of a man who's not afraid of death...the look of a man who would fight hell itself for his comrades. A few moments passed before the large Loboan began to chuckle a bit.
"Your ballsy, senor…I'll commend you for that," Segador stated before, with a flick of his wrist, the sickle blades vanished.
Silina let out an inaudible sigh of relief, 'Oh thank the Moon Goddess…He didn't challenge him like he ranted at after hearing all those rumors about the Omnitrix preventing death to the user…'
"Listen, Segador, Zs'Skayr is working with a ghost called Dan Phantom, a maniacal teenage girl with analytical skills on par with a Cerebrocrustacean that has a kink for Despair, and a hipster who enjoys butterfly knives way too much to be healthy to get all the Relics of the Vladite King," Ben spoke, "We're here to retrieve the last one before they can get it."
Silina went stark white and froze up as a statue as Segador's stance shifted to the worse, '...And forget what I last thought…'
"You want our relic?" he asked as he began walking towards Ben again, "Why should I believe it would be safe with you?"
"Because…I'm being polite, aren't I?" Ben asked, "I mean if we fought…" he chuckled, "Nah…I'd win." He took a step forward to match Segador glare for glare. Ben remained unmoving as a sickle was now aimed at his neck.
"...?" Segador blinked, looking down to see Ben drew his blaster and aimed it at him point blank.
"I knew what type of guy you'd be," Ben spoke up, "You're not letting go of that relic, because it's not just dangerous; it's important to you. It's a sign of leadership, passed down from father to son, isn't it?" he asked as Segador's eyes narrowed at him, "You also wouldn't give it up to anyone out of concern they would be too weak to protect it. I already know…I wasn't getting out of here without fighting you. No words could convince you to let it go."
"You are either a fool…or the very concept of fear no longer holds any meaning to you," Segador growled.
"No…I just stop letting fear get in my way," Ben replied, "I can get afraid. I have someone I love so much, the idea of anything bad ever happening to them makes me panic. The same with my family, my friends, and anyone under my protection. But I'm Ben 10, I need to be the Hero for them. So…let's stop the intimidation bit and get to the part where we fight…and I get that Relic."
Segador narrowed his eyes, "You can take our form, si?"
"I can," Ben replied.
"You want it, then you fight as a Loboan for it like I did with mi padre when I was to inherit it," Segador replied, "Silina, tell him what he is in for as I prepare for it."
"Hoo boy…" Silina grimaced as Segador left, "You are in for quite a spectacle…and possible burst eardrums if those things don't protect from sonic attacks in the distance."
"That's fine. I'm not leaving without that Relic."
"Alright, normally, you'd be dealing with normal Loboan traditions of combat, but mi hermano caught me watching this one thing between some Vaxasaurians and Apoplexians and next thing I know, we have an arena," Silina explained.
"You guys get Caves vs Claws out here?" Ben asked in interest, "Ah man… Me and Makoto must have missed so many episodes since we got here!"
"You watch alien wrestling?" Tucker asked.
"Wrestling…boxing…gladiatorial combat…Mad Max Demolition derby…" Ben listed with his fingers, "Extreme Fishing…"
"Extreme Fishing?"
"Imagine the fish fights back…sometimes with venom…and fire breath…" Ben explained.
"It's thrilling at times," Silina smirked before scowling, "Now if only my other brothers would stop using our account for their weird shows."
"Oi! Cuna de lobos is a thrilling telenovela, thank you very much!" Zev shouted from the entryway.
"It's not even about wolves let alone Loboans!" Silina barked back, "And the less said about the one with those puppet things the better!"
"Oi, you leave our comedy outta this, hermana!" Raul yelped.
"..." Ben reached into his pockets for a moment before pulling out a tennis ball, "Hey guys…see this?" he held it up.
"...What is it?" Zev asked, his eyes going wide and his pupils dilating.
"I do not know…but I want it…" Raul replied as he followed the ball around as Ben moved his arm.
"...Go get it!" he swung his arm as the two brothers scrambled away to chase it…only for Ben to laugh and reveal he never threw the ball before he handed it to Silina, "Here…try this next time."
"Oh, you are devious~" Silina smirked, "This is going to be fun~! Right, let's head for the arena. Hope you're ready."
"Was that one of Drei's balls?" Noel asked.
"One of the hundred I have for him," Ben explained, "Don't worry. It was one I bought just before we left so it's actually untouched and un-corgi slobbered."
"Oh good, he won't miss it then. You know how meticulous he is about his ball collection," Noel sighed, "He remembers where he hid all of them, where he buried them, and how many times he's chewed each one."
"And somehow I ended up stuck to one of said balls and buried with it," Skurd deadpanned.
"It was hard, but I did stick to not giving him dessert that day," Noel grimaced, "Oh, he was so sad and I almost caved when his eyes started watering and…" she whimpered, "Oh, Mama's so sorry, Drei~!"
"Noel…the puppy isn't here."
"I know~" Noel sobbed, hugging him with waterfall tears going down her cheeks, "I can't give him apology cuddles~!"
"There, there…" Ben sighed, patting her head, "You know he still loves you. Just stockpile the cuddles for when you get home, alright?"
"Whoever this 'Drei' is…they have a very dedicated madre," Silina whispered, blinking a few times.
"A corgi puppy," Sam replied.
"A what?"
"Really tiny puppy with a stubby tail," Tucker replied.
"They take care of it together," Hobble added.
"They raise a child together?" Silina asked.
"...Oh!" Sam realized after a moment, "'Pups' are what you call kids, too!"
"What?" Ben and Noel blinked at that.
"We explained how you guys raise a corgi puppy together; she assumed we meant you two have a kid together 'cause the Loboans call their kids 'pups,'" Tucker explained.
"...E-e-e-EH?!" Noel exclaimed, her face going bright red with steam coming off the top of her head, 'M-m-m-m-me and Ben-san?! I-Iie! Iie! He's Makoto-chan's! Makoto-chan's!'
"Hahahaha…ah…man, you should have seen that coming!" Ben laughed at them, "Guys, rookie move~!"
"I'm still lost," Silina muttered.
"We'll explain as you take us to this arena," Ben assured, "Noel has pictures on her phone."
"...okay?"
"...mmm. Still nothing," a British-sounding female voice spoke as the cloaked figure from the previous planet was busy examining some ancient writing, holding a large book in hand as her long twin-ponytails hung out of the hood of her cloak, "No…there has to be something I'm missing…" the motioned to a page depicting a large vampire-like figure looming over a group of Anur system aliens, "How…there has to be a way to permanently defeat the Vladite King…surely…"
"HELP~!'
"?" the figure blinked before they turned to the side, seeing Gii weakly flying into the area while heavily panting.
"Is…is there….is there any…..oh~" Gii groaned as he fell out of the air and plopped into a pile of leaves, "Ahh…I gotta ease on the food.."
"...A Familiar? Out here?" the figure quietly whispered to herself, looking around for a few moments before putting there book away, 'I know I shouldn't…and yet it feels…familiar to me…' she thought as she cautiously approached the small fat bat, "Excuse m-"
"AHH! They caught up!" Gii panicked, making the figure jump a bit as he tried to hide underneath the leaf pile, "Take Nago! H-oh wait, right, he got caught…Don't eat me~!"
"I-I'm not trying to eat you," she spoke up.
"How do I know you're not one of those bear robots, huh?!"
"...b-bear robots? What?" she blinked in confusion, taken a bit back by the accusation, "I…Ahem. I assure you I am no…ahem. Bear robot…then again summoning a bear familiar is particularly hard to do...it's why I often never bothered with them. They annoy me unlike a certain brunette I know."
"...huh?" Gii blinked as he slightly poked out of the leaf pile..and tensed when he saw the figure's face, "...LADY RACHEL!"
"Beg pa-" teh figure began before yelping when the bat suddenly hugged her, letting her hood fall off to reveal her face as her bunny-ear ribbon poked up into the air while her twin pig-tails revealed to be in fact a large singular ponytail..
"WAHHHH~! YOU GOT FREE~! I KNEW THAT SEAL WAS NOTHING TO YOU~!" Gii wailed before sniffling as he paused in his nuzzling, "...Huh?" he patted her with his wings, still hugging her, "...Did you age yourself up, Lady Rachel?"
"?" the girl blinked a bit at that before she lightly grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, "That is not my name…also…"
*SMACK!*
"AHH!" Gii freaked as he began bouncing around the ruins before he crashed right into the leaf pile once more," Owie…"
"It is incredibly disrespectful in bringing up a ladies' age you know," she muttered with a light eye twitch, slowly lowering her hand as she picked the fat bat up once more.
"Scary lady…"
"My name is not 'scary lady,' you overweight chiropteran….It is Raquel Alucard, and I happen to be on a very important mission right now," she informed in a firm tone, yet it sounded almost exactly like how Rachel would speak…especially towards Ragna, "Now tell me what has caught you in such a spook, or else I'll have to change you into a toad."
"A t-t-toad?! No, please! Not again!" Gii begged.
'Again?' Raquel mentally repeated, 'It must be part of this 'Rachel's' usual routine with her familiar…'
"...wait. Did you say your last name is 'Alucard?" Gii blinked.
"Do you have leaves still in your ear, or are you that incompetent in listening properly?" Raquel retorted, "Yes. My last name is Alucard."
"...That's wrong."
"Excuse you?" her eyes narrowed a bit at that.
"Lady Rachel doesn't have any siblings and the only other Alucard she knows is her father, Clavis c-HURK!" Gii gagged when Raquel grabbed his neck fully.
"Do not mention That Man's name to me," she scowled dangerously, her eyes glowing a bit.
"You know him?" Gii blinked, "Weirder and weirder…" he blinked as he remembered he was being choked and began gagging with a rather delayed reaction given he was just talking a second ago.
'This bat is starting to irk me…' Raquel thought, she then let out a small sigh and loosened her grip. It was better to let the annoying little thing talk so she could learn what's going on, "Talk. Why are you so panicked?"
"Ah…I-It's because my lady is in danger!" Gii exclaimed, "A really bad man and his psycho sidekick kidnapped her and put her in a large seal she can't escape from! ...Oh, and they captured Nago too, but eh…"
"Okay…that indeed sounds bad. But if I'm to understand it, your lady has the same last name as me…and the same…you know…" she lingered.
"The same 'That Man'?" Gii asked.
"Yes."
"..." Gii blinked a few times as it slowly tried to register in his head...before the metaphorical gears began to turn, "...AHH! ARE YOU RELATED TO HER!?"
"W-Well…I'm trying to figure that out. Okay?" she sighed, "How is that even possible? You'd think I'd know if I…had a sibling."
"Mmm…well unless you're also from another dimension like that one guy who hangs out with Tennyson," Gii muttered, "Something about him being from another world which mirrors ours in weird, but different ways…"
"..." Raquel said nothing before she gripped the bat from both sides, "Was this individual named…Naoto Kurogane by any chance?"
"I think so. I only got a glimpse of him before now and again…spiky black hair, chest out a lot, wears black…"
"...Naoto's here…" Raquel whispered to herself, 'I thought I told him to find the Azure…though given all that's happened, it is most likely this 'Tennyson' to thank for that white flash that engulfed me before…and I ended up in this system…meaning he must be with him…'
"He's usually with Tennyson, fighting monsters, intergalactic evil, gods, demons, and saving the multiverse from total collapse. So my Lady has less work to do now, which she's secretly thankful for," Gii continued, "You probably don't know him, but he's famous in this dimension so if he says his hero name as if expecting you to react, that's why."
"...Duly noted," Raquel muttered with a sweatdrop, 'Great…an egomaniac…splendid…and I'm already wasting time as is…though…' "Where is she?"
"Eh?"
"This Lady Rachel of yours…where is she?"
"You'll help?" Gii asked excitedly before he made one of his wings turn into an arrow and pointed in the direction he came from, "She's over that way. The creepy man is holding her captive there."
"And you said she and this other Familiar of hers are being held by 'robot bears,' yes?"
"Yes."
"Good…then let's be off so I can get back to my research," She stated as she began to walk off with him in her arms.
"Eh?! But...how are you…?"
"I can fight…These robotic ursine shouldn't' be too much of a challenge for me."
'...Wow. She's a lot more headstrong than Lady Rachel…' Gii thought with a blank face that just focused on what was ahead of them.
Back with Ben and his group, they walked up a mountain path heading towards the summit, revealing a rather large arena with the image of a crescent moon embolized into the wood, littered with multiple slash marks with various large poles circling around the arena. Standing atop one of the poles, Segador stood upon it, arms crossed over his chest.
"Welcome to our arena," Segador greeted, spreading his arms out to it all, "You want the Necklace of the Alpha? Then you must overcome me, the current Alpha of Luna Lobo!"
"He gets hammy when he's about to fight, doesn't he?" Tucker asked.
"Oh you have no idea…" the female Loboan sighed, "Least he didn't surround the arena with magenta flames again…"
Ben smirked as he entered the arena and turned on his Omnitrix, "You're likely the hardest fight I'll be getting, so I'll give you a challenge." he selected his choice and pushed down on the core the moment it went up, letting him be replaced with Garumaru in a flash of green light, "Skurd?"
"Of course," Skurd replied as he produced a katana made from what looked to be NRG's armor.
"Oh hoh~? I was expecting you to be a Loboan, amigo, but this? This is new and interesting," Segador noted.
"Hmph…Well I'm known for making things interesting, teria," Garumaru stated as he got into a battle stance.
Segador grinned before he vanished in a flicker. Garumaru spun around and sparks flew from blade striking blade as red eyes met green. Garumaru's eyes widened as a red-tinted sonic blast erupted from Segador's unsplit muzzle, sending him crashing into a pole. He rolled under the lunging stab of Segador before the Loboan jumped up high into the air to avoid Garumaru's leg sweep and blasted him into the ground with another sonic blast.
"Huh? How's he doing that without splitting open his muzzle?" Noel asked in surprise.
"Mi hermano mayor trained himself to perform the technique without doing that," Silina explained, "He found it 'too telling' to others when he was planning to use it."
"Gh…that…took me off guard, tia," Garuamru grunted as he forced himself up, using his weapon to help himself stand as he looked at Segador, "Gonna have to remember that later for Blitzwolfer."
"Already winded from just the first thirty seconds, amigo?" Segador questioned in amusement, "Come now~! I expected more from your reputation!"
"Oh is that so? Well….check this!" Garumaru shouted as he did a quick spin kick in the air, unleashing an electrified cutting wave of air at him, "Rankyaku!"
Segador just narrowed his eyes a bit, twirling his scythes a bit before he did a quick cross cut just as the attack came close, slicing it in half as it began to disperse. His eyes widened in excitement as he leaned backwards, Garumaru's sword barely missing smacking him with the flat side of it. A Geppou allowed Garumaru to barely evade the sonic howl retaliation, the Loboan using it to move back several yards with a small hop during it.
"He flies?!" Silina gawked.
"It's more he's kicking so hard in one spot in the air, the friction from it is making it akin to solid ground for a brief moment," Noel replied, a phantom sting going through her legs, "I've been trying to learn it along with two other techniques from the six this and the kick before come from because they'd go quite well with my preferred fighting style, but my legs always feel like jelly after I'm done training for the day."
"The universe is weirdly vast," Silina muttered.
"M-More than you know," Noel chuckled.
"Okay, you're more than living up to the rumors now!" Segador exclaimed.
"The rumors are never accurate to me. I'm not as overly designed as the Externet show, but I'm way more impressive than my haters say," Garumaru chuckled.
"Hmm hmm…This is going to be fun," Segador chuckled a bit before he charged at him, weapons at the ready as he bared his fangs.
"Why am I always the one fighting some alien battle maniac?" Garumaru sighed, blocking swing after swing with his sword. He grunted, lifting his sword up to block both of his sickles, "Did I get cursed or something as a kid for attracting them, teria?"
"I'm starting to question that myself!" Skurd exclaimed.
With that, the two clashed back and forth as they dashed back and forth. Garumaru grunted as he was mostly on the defensive due to having only one weapon. He grunted again, blocking a powerful overhead swing before leaping up to avoid a leg sweep. Segador smirked as he flipped one of his sickles around and swung low to catch Garumaru when he landed, only to lose his original sense of balance when he heard a thunk as he looked to see Garumaru's sword forced into the ground and twisting his right arm in the process. He blinked, seeing Garumaru balancing his body up on his sword with his arms before swinging a kick to Segador's head and knocking him away. The Loboan let out a cackle as he got up, wiping a bit of blood from his lip. He spun his remaining sickle before rushing at Garumaru. Sparks flew from their blades striking one another several times before Segador pulled a feint to make Garumaru swing his blade, allowing the Loboan to move to the side and blast Garumaru directly in his face with a sonic howl, sending him crashing into and collapsing one of the posts. Garumaru grimaced as ringing echoed in his head while his eyes blearily blinked.
"I swear…I am learning a lot on how to improve how I use Blitzwolfer from this, teria…" Garumaru groaned.
"Yes, but does it have to be so painful? Single-celled organism I may be, but my body is a liquid," Skurd complained before looking up, "Huh…You know, there is something of amazement when you're upon a moon and looking upon the planet it orbits."
"Where's this coming from?" Garumaru chuckled, wincing as he got back up.
"A sonic-based concussion, most likely," Skurd replied, "But still, it's like looking at a moon of its own in a way."
"A moon?" Garumaru repeated, following Skurd's line of sight to look up at Anur Transyl, "...Huh…It kinda does…look like…a…"
"Ben?" Tucker pondered, seeing Garumaru had completely trailed off and was simply looking up at Anur Transyl.
"He didn't pass out standing, did he?" Sam asked.
"No, when he passes out, he changes back," Noel replied.
As Garumaru kept looking upon Anur Transyl, his virid eyes began to shrink, the green turning into feral slits floating in darkness as the planet, in his eyes, seemed to take on the appearance of a full moon. Electricity began to crackle off his body in small bursts as his fur began to start fluffing from the static. He stumbled a bit as his body began to take on a white, ghostly coloration and glow.
"Now what's this?" Segador pondered, picking up his dropped scythe.
Garumaru's head slumped along with most of his upper body, the electricity turning a bluish white, as he began growling. His tail twitched erratically before the fur on it erupted in length and thickness, wisping out into a longer, wilder tail. Everyone but Segador took a step back as Garumaru slammed a hand on the ground and broke it from the impact, his growl unyielding.
"...What's happening to him…?" Tucker slowly asked as Hobel immediately fainted.
"I…I do…oh!" Noel gasped as she quickly pulled her badge out, "Makoto!"
=Everything okay, Noellie?=
"No. Ben started changing again as Garumaru," Noel explained, "Do...Do Minks have some sort of changing ability in One Piece?"
"GH?!" Tucker tensed as he quickly covered his ears, "NO SPOILERS!"
=Changing? Oh, the Sulong form! Man, I almost forgot about that!= Makoto recalled =Yeah, they have this really wicked but terrifying ability! If they look at a full moon, they go under this massive transformation! Said to be the "true form" of the minks, a race whose members are born with natural fighting ability, the Sulong transformation exponentially enhances the existing skills of a mink=
"T-True form?" Noel repeated, looking out as Garumaru's snout stretched out as his lips curled back, revealing his fangs had grown larger and sharper.
=Oh yeah! Carrot took on the Sulong form and she was a BAMF! She curbstomped a whole naval fleet under Big Mom!= Makoto recalled =But, uh…Why do ya ask?=
"Could…a planet be used as a substitute for the full moon?" Noel asked as a mane burst out and around Garumaru's neck.
=What? Like in Dragonball GT when Goku went Oozaru?=
"Uhm…yes…something like that."
=Well I mean…if Oda-Sensei made it off the same logic…then I guess so. I'm not really the smart one to theorize that stuff. We'd need one of Ben-kun's smart aliens or Kajun and…Noel…what happened to my boyfriend?=
"AWOOO!" Garumaru bellowed, a massive mane of white hair erupting from his head, before he vanished with a spark of lightning before multiple flashes went off all around before he appeared behind Segador, making the Loboan flinch at suddenly feeling his presence.
"Uhm…" Noel squeaked, "Uhm…W-w-w-w-w-well…I'll have to get back to you with details later, because things are about to get really scary and dangerous!"
=Noel, wait a se…= Makoto began before Noel hung up.
"Oh…oh no…This is so bad…This is really bad…" Noel muttered out, "So…Garumaru has a super mode…that he just activated…And according to Makoto…it is…scary powerful."
"I did not hear a word of that and I'm already feeling my red flags being raised!" Tucker shouted.
"Did he become half us?" Silina asked, seeing the white fur on him.
Segador released a sonic howl only to hit nothing. Ozone burning reached his snout before he grunted as he felt claws leaving their marks on him as electricity lit him up. Garumaru appeared against the mountaintop side, claws digging deep into the stone as he glared down upon the Loboan leader.
"Well, I was not expecting this to happen!" Skurd noted, "I knew this DNA sample had a kick to it!"
"Whoa…Even with how feral he's acting…It's got some sort of majestic vibe to it," Sam admitted.
"Woof."
"?!" Sam and Noel looked at an embarrassed Silina covering her snout with her hands.
"You two heard nothing," she quickly spoke, giving them a glare.
"R-Right…" Noel chuckled sheepishly as Sam just made a motion of zipping her lips, "S-Still…you are right. Maybe this ability will be helpful. Though planning around a full Moon seems like a bit of a pain." she admitted as Garumaru pushed off the mountain, cratering the spot he had been on, and shot through the air as a bolt of electricity before clashing with Segador, his longer claws acting as miniature blades against the Loboan's scythes, 'Though…this doesn't really feel like how Ben would like to do things. It doesn't seem like…he's having fun while in this state. It's like what Makoto and Tsubaki described when he was fighting Vilgax.' her eyes widened, 'Is he…not in control of himself in this state?'
"?!" Valkenhayn tensed a bit, his ears perking up before he quickly changed back into his normal state, "Hmm…That feels concerning…"
"What is?" Danny asked as he and Naoto stood near a pile of unconscious Loboans.
"An apex predator has bared his fangs, it seems," Valkenhayn noted, looking towards the mountains in the distance before all three saw a burst of blue-tinted white lightning erupt from one of the mountaintops.
"Whoa!" Naoto jumped.
"That had a lot of heat in that to take on that color combination," Danny noted.
"Indeed," Valkenhayn noted, "If I would take a guess, I believe it would be young Master Tennyson causing this, given how uncontrolled this presence is."
"What's that mean?" Danny asked.
"Well…some of Ben's forms can overtake his personality," Naoto muttered, recalling what he had heard from Grandpa Max, Kevin, and Gwen and what he read in reports, "Either he found a new one or…he found something new with one."
"..." Valkenhayn said nothing as he closed his eyes, sniffing the air for a moment..before a frown grew on hsi face, "...he's here….I'll have to try and make this quick."
"Wh-" Naoto began before Valkenhayn rushed off in his wolf form, "What th-dude!"
"I apologize, but something important has come up!" Valkenhayne apologized.
"But you can't ju…you promised you'd help!"
"Yes, but if I do not hurry, the situation may end up being worse!"
"...Worse?" the two repeated as they looked at eachother.
"...?!" Naoto tensed in realization, "Raquel…."
"...Dude, don't. Y-" Danny began as he quickly grabbed Naoto just before he could run.
"Something's up with her! Why else would he run off like that?!"m
"He's heading towards the mountain that lightning came out of," Danny pointed out, "He must be sensing something that we can't. Probably from the fact he's a werewolf…which is kinda ironic since his last name is the name of a werewolf hunter." Naoto gave him a look, "...Sam insisted on this one book for a group assignment involving him, alright? Look, the point is that he's going there because whatever is going on with Ben is that big of a priority to keep everyone safe."
"I…well…yeah…he can kinda turn into a walking chernobyl…" Naoto muttered slowly.
"Right. So let's just keep going. I'm sure he'll join back up with us after he helps Ben out with whatever he's done," Danny assured.
"...hah. Fine..let's just move on," Naoto sighed in response, about to take a step forward before stopping, "..."
"..." Danny exhaled, a light-blue wisp coming out of his mouth, "Of course."
"Round whatever this is," Naoto grumbled as he cracked his knuckles, "Any reason why he didn't attack sooner?"
"Probably the Plasmius part of what makes him up. Vlad's always been an opportunist."
"It's called being patient and clever. But then again, you could barely get past a video game level, and likely won't get past the 9th grade," Dan laughed as he formed into visibility via a spiraling green cloud.
"You sure get around fast these days…" Danny groaned.
"Duh…I'm a ghost. I don't need to breathe air, nitwit." Dan rolled his eyes, "Maybe if you bothered to learn what does and doesn't work…you'd have learned how to make clones even sooner." he sighed.
"Hey…" Danny scowled.
"Dude, I swear I am getting fed up with this bad future you."
"Tell me about it," Dany rolled his eyes as the two readied to fight.
"I'm…terribly sorry, Lady Rachel…" Nago apologized, currently tied up and hanging off a nearby tree with multiple 'kick me' and 'hit me' signs on him, "I've failed as your Familiar."
"Yes…but…that's nothing new." Rachel replied.
"Ooh~ Burn!" Monokid laughed.
"I suppose you mechanical ursine are finding amusement still with this situation," Rachel noted.
"Upupupupupu~! You betcha!" Monokuma laughed as his kids all nodded, "Don't know where the hipster and the boss lady went, but we're watchin' ya fer 'em and for our amusement at the despair your tubby cat's displayin'!"
"...fine with me. I'm still irked about the vase he and Gii broke."
"ACK! S-so cold…" Monophanie gasped as she paled.
"Also if you think the likes of you six scare me…you are sadly mistaken," Rachel continued.
"Ha! And what's your washboard ass gonna do, huh?! You're stuck in that seal!" Monokid laughed.
"And yet you smell as if you got off the set of a rather…indecent film. The kind where all involved are tested…even the supply people."
"ACK!" Monokid gawked as his body turned to stone.
"Wow….brutal," Monotaro whispered.
"Least I can get some quiet now.." Monosuke sighed.
"Oh, I am not finished with the rest of you," Rachel informed, gaining the attention of the other five robotic bears, "While, yes, I am unable to use my magic as of right now….there is something I can use to bide my time."
...Query: and that is…?= Monodom questioned.
"Emotionally tear each of you down to the point you feel lesser than the ground you walk on."
"Oh, I feel sorry for them…" Nago whispered.
"Psst! Hey~!"
"...Gii?" Nago blinked as he managed to look over to the side, seeing the fat bat peeking out of a nearby bush, "?! There you are…wh-"
"Shh! Here to help~"
"Oh yes. After you flew for your life abandoning me and Lady Rachel…!"
"I was getting help."
"While screaming like a si…" Nago began before Raquel slightly poked up, "?! ...wh…wha….why does she…?"
"I think she's Lady Rachel's sister," Gii explained as Raquel looked over at Rachel in surprise.
'That girl…she does look like me…and sounds like me,' Raquel thought as she listened to Rachel verbally tear into Monokuma and the Kubs.
"...Gii, don't be ridiculous. Lady Rachel does not have siblings."
"Are you sure?" Gii questioned before whispering, "I think they had the same dad…"
"...W-Well, obviously it could've been an alternate version of the late Lord Clavis, b-" Nago began before going pale white when he saw Raquel glare at him, her eyes glowing a menacing red, "...M-My apologies, madam…"
"Mmm…" Raquel frowned before looking back at the situation, "Hmm…six of them…their shadows are currently connected together…" she trailed down the ground before them, eying the shadows provided by the trees as she looked between theri current hiding spot and the bears, "...perfect. This won't take long."
"Take long for wh-" Nago and Gii began before Raquel suddenly melted into the shadows, making the two tense up as something began to move through the shadows.
"Shadow diving? That's…a really advanced spell," Nago noted quietly.
"...I still say she's Lady Rachel's sister…" Gii muttered.
"She just doesn't stop~" Monphanie whined, crying waterfall tears as she laid in a fetal position while Monodom…just stood there with a blue-screened look in his optics.
"Come on, Pops! You got this!" Monokid cheered.
"Oh yes…and he's doing such an outstanding job," Rachel replied in a slight sarcastic tone.
"You think that intimidates me?! Please…my creator had to deal with a gal in gothic lolita clothing with violent mood swings!" Monokuma declared, "And last I heard, at least she was stacked underneath!"
"Oh yes. Target a certain part of a woman's body. That will affect me so," Rachel retorted, "Now please close your mouth...I can smell the rancid fish in your teeth from up here."
"It's not Rancid! I only eat fresh!" Monokuma snapped.
"Yes…fresh from the river during mating season...honestly salmon can be bland."
"AHH!" Monokuma dramatically gasped, "You take that back about salmon, you vampire bitch!"
"No. Fresh salmon tastes bland. I would prefer something more…applicable for my palette," Rachel retorted, her eyes noticing something moving closer to Monokuma from the shadows, "Also, stop staring at me with that red eye…better yet, I demand you get rid of both. The asymmetry that makes you up is ghastly."
"A-Asymmetry?!" Monokuma exclaimed, "I am not! I am the right balance between a bright hope~" he called in a girly voice while spinning in place...before maniacally laughing with his head held high, "And a pitch black despair no one can escape!"
"And yet one half of you makes the other seem underweight and unseemingly disproportionate to the other."
"...You are a very cruel vampire bitch."
"And must you use such crude language? Honestly, that's the worst thing of this all for it shows incompetence if you must require the usage of such a vulgar tongue in order to perform anything."
"Make her stop~~!" Monophanie whined as Monodom fell to the side, steam escaping his ears.
"Jeez~, who knew vampires were really nasty…" Monotaro muttered.
"She's a vampire…What did you expect?" Monosuke deadpanned.
"Owning a hotel for monsters with the staff as zombies."
"..."
"What? You asked."
"Grr…enough!" Monokuma snapped as he spread his arms apart, his red eye glowing as he looked up and shot an accusing finger at Rachel, "You think you're hot shit with all your….very toxic talk, but you can't break me! I'm too full of despair and can't wait to see this entire galaxy suffer so much of it once the Vladites are back!"
"And yet they will fail," Rachel retorted, noticing something rising up from behind the bears, "You fail to realize no matter the situation…your master and that man will fail thanks to Ben Tennyson and his allies."
"Oh yeah? And how do you know that hmm~?"
"I cannot say…just one more word if I may?" Rachel questioned.
"Wazzat?"
"Boo," Raquel whispered from behind him.
"?!" Monokuma tensed as he quickly turned...before his head was kicked straight off his body and crashed right into a nearby tree, "ACK!"
"POPS!" the Monokubs gawked.
"Ugh, finally…That thing's voice was annoying me…" Raquel muttered as she lowered her leg, dusting herself off a bit as Rachel looked at her with...an actual surprised look on her face, "Alright, you stupid robotic ursine…" she paused as she looked over at the Monokubs, a serious look in her eye as she lifted her leg lightly, "Which of you is next…?"
"...uh…" Monokid began.
"You first then, you uncouth looking ruffian."
"Wh-?!" Monokid began before he wheezed out, Raquel's foot implanted in his stomach before she kicked him so high into the air he was a dot in the sky.
"...don't stand there and gawk!" Monokuma shouted to the other Monokubs, "Get her! ...and get over here, body! I-no! My left, not yours!"
"Uh...oh right! Shuriken rainstorm go!" Monotaro shouted as he threw multiple shurikens at Raquel, who narrowed her eyes as a powerful gust of wind blew in from behind her, causing the shuriken to stop in their tracks as they clattered onto the ground, "...uh oh."
"Even the same Drive…" Nago whispered as he and Gii watched Raquel kick Monotaro into a nearby bush…or rather through a few bushes as the woods drowned out his screaming, "...also she's a lot more…forward than Lady Rachel…"
"Right?" Gii agreed, "...makes me wonder if Lord Clavis did have another…"
"Finish that and we'll find ourselves as worms for the next few millennia," Nago immediately spoke up.
"ACK!"
"What is happening?! Someone give me a play by play! I can't see jack!" Monokuma shouted as he subtly moved his head around to see a Loboan, "Oh…Oh no, don't you…NO!" he cried as it bit his ear and dragged him off into the foliage.
"Oh no! Father got dognapped!" Monophanie panicked, "Monodom~!"
Initiating self defense protocol= Monodom spoke as a loading bar appeared in his optics =5%...15%...30%...35%...32%! 15%!=
"Oh don't go cowering out now, you stupid tinca-" Monosuke began before Raquel did a heel drop on his head, practically burying the spectacled bear into the ground headfirst, "MMM! MMMMMMM!"
...50%! 100%! MurdermodeEXE initiate!= Monodom exclaimed before his arms became chainsaws =Exterminate! Exterminate!=
Raquel said nothing before she jumped over his attempted lunge, the robotic green bear turning to try and slash at her...only to miss as she melted right into his shadow.
"Sh-She vanished?!" Monophanie gawked as Monodom rapidly looked around the area.
'...She…She looks like an older me…She has the same Drive as I do...her magic is also as good as mine…' Rachel thought, the surprised look still on her face, '...Then that magic I sensed in this star system…was her…'
Where did she go?! Where did the target go~? Does not compute! Does not c-= Monodom began before his eyes went blue screen again…and fell right to his side.
"Uh oh…" Monophanie gulped as she began to back up, only to tense as she backed up into a leg, making her slowly look up…and see Raquel's glowing red eyes looking down at her, "...p-please don't break my butt…"
"...very well then."
"...t-truly?"
"Yes…you're as free as the wind."
"Oh thank yyyOOOOOUUUUUU!" Monophanie cried out as a gust of wind sent her flying into the distance.
"...hm. I believe I made a pun just now…" Raquel whispered to herself, brushing a bit of her hair out of her face, "...hm. Not sure how to feel about it…may try and ask Naoto later once the Vladite situation is taken care of…"
"...Can we be her familiars instead?" Gii whispered as his and Nago's eyes were wide as saucers with their mouths agape.
"What?" Rachel spoke, regaining her composure as she shot Gii a death glare.
"Ahh! Sorry, princess~!"
"That's what I thought."
"Well he's an idiot, so…" Nago muttered.
"H-Hey!"
"...Do they ever stop?" Raquel asked, blinking a few times.
"You have no idea…" Rachel sighed, "Usually I hit them to get them to shut up..or just use Gii as a ball to vent my anger…but now more importantly…" she paused as she looked down at Raquel, "Who are you…and why do you look like me but older?"
"...Raquel. Raquel Alucard of House Alucard," she replied as she looked back up at her, "Who, may I ask, are you?"
"Rachel…of house Alucard and daughter of Clavis Alucard," Rachel replied, noting Raquel's hand balling up for a moment, "...I was not aware there was another Alucard out there."
"Well neither was I, and yet here we are…staring at one another like a funhouse mirror," Raquel retorted.
"We're vampires…we cannot see our own reflections."
"Funny...I was able to be in a picture with Naoto."
"And that is…?"
"My servant and…ahem…my…boyfriend."
"...Beg pardon?"
"...What's with the tone?" Raquel questioned, noticing the tone in Rachel's voice when she asked.
"Hypothetically speaking…if you are supposed to be a different version of myself, then you are saying you are dating your equivalent to a foul mouth, brashed, uncouth, white-haired ruffian I know."
"...You know unless you want me to help undo that seal…" Raquel paused, crossing her arms as she glared up at Rachel, "You better not be implying about insulting him…no matter if it's another version of him or not."
"I…may admit that it was unbecoming of my status for that assumption…" Rachel responded.
"Apology accepted," Raquel stated before she began to float up, a miniature tornado underneath her feet as she moved up to the seal keeping Rachel in place, "Now…let us see about this seal…mmm. This may take some time…"
"It is as if our Lady Rachel now has a sister," Nago noted.
"Told you," Gii smiled.
"AHH!" Tucker panicked as he jumped behind some cover, the still unconscious Hobble hanging over his shoulders, "Ben's totally lost it!"
"This is worse! This is worse than Buzzerker!" Skurd screamed as the still berserk Garumaru clashed with Segador's sickles, causing another shockwave as small cracks began to form on the blades.
"Ben has a very violent angry side deep down," Noel spoke, "He holds it all in 'till he can't anymore. Then he unleashes it on the worst monster he can get his hands…or claws…or tentacles on. Makoto and Tsubaki said the time they saw him fight Vilgax…was actually…worse than this."
"Worse?!" Sam repeated.
"Well see Ben…actively hates Vilgax…and with most of his aliens he holds back a lot of their power. Like…some can actually go…well…Supernova hot…" Noel sheepishly explained, "Or cause seismic tremors that threatened to rip apart an almost city sized spaceship…"
"...yo how are we actually even alive right now?" Tucker whispered with wide eyes.
"I'm….actually asking myself the same question," Sam added in equal shock.
"Oh~ What's g-" Hobble began as he regained consciousness…only for a piece of rubble to bean him in the face from another clash between Garumaru and Segador.
Hobble Own count: 9
"Hobble? You alright, buddy?" Tucker asked.
"Grandad, you ran over another satellite again…"
"Okay phew he's fine…"
"This is not good," the female Loboan whispered, seeing how much damage the battle was doing to the mountain top as parts of it began to crumble away, "If this keeps up, there won't be anything left of this place."
"Oh dear…we c-ahh!" Noel yelped as another clash went off, Funkfreed quickly shifting to full elephant while standing before her and stabbed his trunk into the ground in its sword state, letting him take the electrical strikes that came off the clash and ground them, "Oh! G-Good boy, Funkfreed!"
"Paon!"
"...Why did that tone of his sound like he's had to do this before?" Sam asked before Funkfreed adopted a flat look, recalling his former master's terrified screams and smelling like roast elephant for a few hours…because the idiot threw him into the air instead of stabbing him into the ground.
"Is there any way to change him back?" Silina asked.
"Yes, but…" Noel began before flinching from another shockwave going off, "Someone would have to get close enough to hit the Omnitrix...or stall him long enough until it times out."
"Something tells me option two is out of the question…" Sam muttered before flinching when the sound of metal shattering went off, Segador skidding back as his sickles were broken into multiple pieces while bits of electricity crackled off his form.
Segador looked at his broken weapons and then towards Garumaru, "..." he chuckled, "A true apex, eh? The ancestral blood in the DNA of this form is truly a mighty one. A King, even!"
"By the Celestialsapiens, hermano! This is not the time to be excited!" Silina barked.
"Mi hermana…I'm no speaking from excitement," Segador replied, "I speak from solemnity…of acceptance." he spread his arms out, "Come, oh noble King! Ye wolf of battle! I may fall tonight, but you will remember the name Segador as the first who marks your mighty form!"
"Idiotas! All my brothers are Idiotas, be it from intelligence or machismo!" Silina exclaimed into the air.
"...Danny….where are you and Naoto?" Sam slowly asked as she turned on her communicator.
=Kinda busy wi-gh!-with Dark me right now!= Danny exclaimed.
"Shoot," Sam grimaced.
Garumaru let out a roar before he became nothing more than a blur akin to a bolt of lightning. He was nearly upon the grinning Segador…when something slammed into the top of the 'bolt,' sending Garumaru crashing down face first into the ground, shattering it. Garumaru bounced back up, his eyes blank and several fangs popping out of his jaws, before collapsing down on the ground. A flash went off and Ben laid on the ground, twitching in an unconscious state with a few sparks coming off him. Segador blinked as he had to look up at who intercepted the finishing blow.
Towering before Ben was Valkenhayn, only now taking the form of a werewolf as a long mane of gray fur went down his back, his muscles slightly pronounced within his suit as his claws tore through his gloves, revealing his arms were of a darker shade of fur. His shoes had also been torn to pieces to allow his bulkier wolf feet to be exposed, the same darker fur on the digitigrade legs. At the end of his tail was the pink ribbon that was normally in his hair.
"...i….is that….m-mr. V?" Tucker slowly asked.
"Huh…He reminds me of mi abuelo when he was still around," Silina noted, "Even the same vibe to him."
"It would appear that I have arrived with ample time to prevent a consequence that young Master Tennyson would rather avoid," Valkenhayne noted, his voice deeper with an underlying feral hint to it, before turning to Segador and formally bowed, "My apologies for the interference, noble Pack leader."
"...It…" Segador paused to clear his throat, "It's fine. A shame I could not be the first to truly leave a mark upon that form of his, but it's alright. He's proven himself more than strong enough to guard what my family has for several generations."
"Wh-?! You were awing all over him before!" Silina snapped.
"Not now, little one," he growled in an annoyed sibling way.
"Oh dear…" Noel gasped as Funkfreed carried her over to Ben as she pulled out some smelling salts that she used under Ben's nose, "I know these give a headache, but we really need you awake while we're not in the ship."
"...GAH!" Ben gasped as he shot up, "What happened….and why do I feel like I just went multiple rounds with Rath…?"
"You…kinda went nuts when you looked at the 'moon'," Noel explained.
"...wha?"
"You went berserk as Garumaru!" Skurd snapped
"He can do…oh…shoot…right…he can do that…" Ben groaned, "Makoto told me in passing about that ability."
"And you didn't think about it sooner because…?!" Skurd questioned.
"I forgot about it because we got interrupted by Thunderpig attacking a guy because he was eating a grilled ham and cheese," Ben replied.
"You are some kind of stupid, you know that?" Skurd muttered with narrowed eyes.
"Hey…" Ben frowned before he took notice of Valkenhayn, making him jump back in surprise as he shot up, "Gh! M-Mr. V?!"
"I apologize for knocking you out, Young Master Tennyson, but I had to stop you before the situation could get worse," the werewolf butler stated as he began to shrink back down, changing back into his human state as his clothing was already fixed up.
"It could get worse?!" Tucker asked.
"Yes…Young Master Tennyson wasn't in control of his body, the bloodlust of the form was overshadowing his senses. It was nothing more than raw instincts. Had he been cognizant and awoken his natural combat instincts, chances are he would have begun getting creative with his powers." Valkenhyn explained, "And given the amount of power he was outputting…"
"...Oh geez…" Ben whispered upon realization, looking on at the damage Garumaru had done to the entire mountain top, "I really did lose it…"
"Wait. You don't remember?" Sam blinked.
"No. I just…blanked out after I looked up at Anur Transyl."
"The form's name quite fits," Valkenhayne noted, "Sulong…Moon Lion…The mysticism of the full moon and the regality of the lion joined as one. Should you decide you wish to learn a way to achieve mastery over this power, just request for me on the next full moon."
"Thanks, sir," Ben thanked.
"Of course. Now if you will excuse me..I am needed elsewhere," Valkenhayne informed before he rushed off in a blur, taking his wolf state once more as he shot down the mountainside.
"...He is single handedly the most badass butler I've ever seen…" Sam whispered.
"He's a butler? Whoever his boss is…they must be really strong," Silina noted.
"Ben Tennyson."
"!?" Ben looked to see Segador stand before him, his red eyes looking into Ben's green eyes.
"I…acknowledge you," Segador stated, "Both controlled and uncontrolled, you showed the ferocity and tenacity on par with any Loboan. Whenever you come to Luna Lobo, you stand as a King." he reached into his cloak and pulled out a necklace made of fangs that glowed as bright as the full moon, "This is what you seek." he handed it over to Ben, "May the ancestors whom guarded this run with your pack in spirit and aide in guarding this until it is time to pass it on or it is no longer a danger to any." he smirked, "And I do hope you tell us when you achieve mastery of your 'Sulong' form. I may not have been the first to mark you as the one called 'Mr. V' did in your feral state, but I will when you are sound of mind in it."
'Did I unintentionally befriend a…what did Makoto call the trop? Oh right…a blood knight?' Ben thought as he nodded.
"I guess we succeeded." Noel muttered, "I guess Makoto will be happy to know we can leave soon."
"Now we just need to hide these relics in a place Zs'Skayr can't get them." Ben spoke, "We need to rethink that plan somehow given he's been planning around us doing this for him."
"Maybe use Clockwork to send them into the far-off future?" Tucker suggested.
"I don't have that good of control over Clockwork for that," Ben replied, "I can control time around me in the context of the present, speed it up, slow it down, rewind it. But anything too far into the past or future, I start to lose my grasp. It might be since my human understanding of time doesn't match a normal Chronosapiens perception of time. My Time barf portals however are…random. I once hacked up a sword from Japan dated back to 700 AD."
"Which you promptly put in your room…along with the suit of armor you summoned…" Noel muttered, not wanting to use any of the words synonymous to barf.
"Well, whatever you pick, hope it works. If not? Silina, we're heading for Anur Transyl!" Segador barked.
"Hah?!" the female Loboan gawked.
"Grab our hermanos as well! I don't trust them to stay back home while we're away after last time and they somehow sold our entire mountain to Howlos on the mountain three ranges away while we were getting spices from Anur Transyl's marketplace!"
"Yeah that's understandable, but why?!"
"Because it's the biggest planet in the system and the most likely place the Vladites will target first if they do come back and I'd like to have a few bones to pick from them for the disrespect to Death in their attempts to return!" Segador replied.
"If you find a guy with bone wings, a red scarf as big as a cape, and violet flames coming outta his eyes named Vendread, tell him Ben and Noel sent you," Ben advised.
"Gotcha amigo."
"Hopefully Danny and Naoto are doing better on their part," Sam sighed.
"HAH!" Naoto shouted as his and Dark Dan's fist clashed with one another, resulting in a small shockwave before the evil ghost grabbed him and threw him into Danny.
"Come on! Where's that vim and vigor from earlier back at the black lagoon?!" Dark Dan laughed before creating a barrier to block an ecto blast from Danny.
"I guess you've got the whole full ghost thing going for you huh? It's probably easy when you don't need to eat or sleep." Danny frowned.
"Yeah there's a lot of benefits to getting rid of that useless human half, for one, I'm not a whiny little shit anymore!" Dan laughed.
"Sure like to hear yourself talk though!" Naoto shouted as he tried a kick from behind, only for Dan to turn and block it.
"And you sure are in a rush," Dan smirked back, holding his leg in place before pulling him closer, "Almost as if you were searching for something..important." he backed his head away from a punch from Naoto, "Woah ho careful now!"
"What do you want?" Naoto demanded.
"What do I want?" Dan asked, "Well I just want to have some fun. But seems like I need to deal with a bunch of would-be superheroes who keep getting in my way. So what I'm doing here is…finding what Zs'Skayr needs to bring back space vampires. But question is…" he leaned right into his face once more, "What are you looking for…something…or someone?" he quickly grabbed Naoto's thrown punch, "Oh ho….right on the money…"
"That's none of your business," Naoto scowled.
"Now see…that's the problem. You got me curious now, so…it's totally my business," Dan smirked, "In fact…why not have a seat?!" he shouted as he swung and slammed Naoto hard onto the ground, making him gasp out in pain before he quickly planted his hand on the ground for a spinning kick, only for the ghost to block it once more.
'Crap…is he trying to find out about Raquel?' Danny thought before his future evil self looked over in his direction, "?!"
"...oh~ You know something as well, don't you mini-me?!" Dan grinned widely, "Oh, this person must be something special if you're keeping it hush hush!"
"You're not learning anything from us, asshole!" Naoto grunted.
"You say that, but in the end? It doesn't matter if you tell me. Because we're oh so close to victory!" Dan laughed, "So…I'm gonna take whatever or rather whoever this person is, give them to Zs'Skayr to complete some stupid ancient prophecy he wants done, then enjoy as this sector of space turns into a bloodbath galore! And do you know why I am gonna do all that?" he asked floating back and away from the two before growling as two black rings formed and opened to reveal two clones standing next to him, "Because I have been keeping plenty of tricks in reserve!" all three Dan's leaned back before opening their mouths to take a deep breath and unleashing three overlapping Ghostly Wails.
"?!"
*BOOOM!*
"?!" Raquel nearly lost focused for a moment, looking to the side to see a mostly ghostly explosion going off in the distance, "What on Earth…? Wh-" two figures soon crashed down into the ground beneath her and Rachel, the dust settling as it revealed an untransformed Danny and Naoto trying to get up, "?!"
"Ah….can't…" Danny began as he tried to get up, only to wince as he held his bleeding head, "Can't even stand right…"
"Gh…" Naoto grunted before falling over as he clutched his ears, a sharp painful ringing coming from them. Try as he might it seemed the attack damaged his inner ear and now his sense of balance was ruined till it healed. Not to mention the raw concussive force was painful beyond words. As he tried to get up, he felt a hand softly grasp his, making him turn to his side…as his eyes widened upon seeing Raquel, "...R…Raquel?"
"It is…Also…"
*SMACK!*
"GH! ...Itai~!"
"That's for foregoing your mission to find The Blue," Raquel deadpanned.
"Ahh…geez! My ears are ringing really badly right now and you slap me?! I..!" he paused when he noticed Rachel staring down at him, "...wha….?"
"Long story…and I don't have much time," Raquel sighed as she got up, "I need to finish undoing this seal…then I need to go back into hiding."
'What's she saying? …Come on. Where's that damn healing that comes with blood powers…?' Naoto thought, still trying to force himself to move.
"Oh…well…this is just plain bad timing…" Danny grunted, noticing the scene, "I don't know if I heal fast…or being half ghost just means I don't take damage like a normal guy…but I don't think Naoto can hear you."
"Danny, tell her I can't hear!" Naoto shouted suddenly.
"I already figured given his composure," Raquel deadpanned.
"It was quite obvious, young Daniel," Rachel agreed.
"Sorry. Force of habit. Most times my friends always ask me what the heck just happened after I'm at the center of a giant explosion." Danny admitted simply, "Uh…probably not the time…but are you two related?" he arched a brow in confusion, noting the similarities.
"I say yes!" Gii shouted from nearby.
"Oh, will you be quiet?!" Nago hissed before dragging him back into their current hiding spot.
"...hah. Listen...I do not have much time, but please relay this to Naoto and your allies," Raquel sighed as she resumed touching parts of the seal keeping Rachel trapped, "I have to go into hiding…I've been studying ancient runes about the Vladites and have been looking for a possible way to make sure they never return."
"I mean…we pretty much got the relics Zs'Skayr didn't get-hopefully Ben got the one here in time-so we should be…"
"You do not understand. They do not need all of them…in order for the king to return, even if not fully, he needs someone of equal power or magic to form a link to..bonding his soul to theirs to make sure they stay within this mortal realm until his missing pieces are restored."
"...It's you," Rachel spoke as she looked at her, "You are the key to this plan."
"Yes…I had to use my magic to keep myself hidden, often staying to the shadows while studying about the Vladites," Raquel informed, "So far…I have been unsuccessful in finding them out, but…I know when the revival is prophesied to happen…" she pulled out the book she had with her as she opened it to a page, "'Upon the glow of the bloodred moon…when the king's pieces have all been gathered..and one chosen to be his queen to help guide his soul to the afterlife shall the Vladite King return and summon forth his legions of soldiers to reclaim what is his.'"
"...hoo boy…" Danny whispered before blinking, "Wait…but wh-"
"Because that date is today," Raquel stated in a serious tone.
"?!" Danny tensed.
"Oh ho~ Is that so…?"
"?!" Raquel tensed as she turned, only to grunt when she was suddenly wrapped up in snake-like chains, "Ahh!"
"Hooo~! Look what I caught, Jun-Jun," Hazama grinned as he and Junko walked out of the woods, the form of Dan appearing above them as they walked into the area, "If I'm not mistaken…it's a taller yet still uppity vampire bitch!"
"Ooh~ Big one too, Master~!" Junko swooned.
"Gh…" Naoto grunted as he forced himself to stand.
"You're still alive? Well...th-" Dan began before he noticed how defensive he was the moment the…moment the girl was captured, "...Oh, so this is who you were trying to find, eh blood boy?!"
"T…To…touch her…" Naoto panted as hsi hair flashed white, "And I'll rip that stupid forked tongue out of your mouth…"
'...Oh this just keeps getting better and better…' Hazama thought with a wicked grin, staring right at Naoto, 'I knew there was something familiar about him…heh. Multiverse theory…it is a bitch, yet…' Another energy gate began to form behind Naoto, 'I can't pass this chance up.'
"Hey S'kayr! You out there?!" Dan called out into the air, "The hipster just snagged something you may want to see!"
"Oh…I've been watching this scene play out for a while." Zs'Skayr laughed as he became visible, his hand clutching Monokuma's head, "It's…just been oh so fun for me to watch this tragedy play out." he dropped the head of Monokuma down next to those of his freakish offspring.
"Hi Dad…" they all greeted, each of them completely covered in foot prints and dents.
"I'd disown each and every last one of you if it wasn't for the fact I'm a single parent!" Monokuma groaned.
"So you guys didn't even need the stupid relic?" Danny asked.
"Well…I needed at least one." he opened his robes to reveal the skull, "It'll be a pain without the other pieces. But I have more than enough here."
"Gh…" Raquel grunted as she tried to force the chains off.
"...That was your goal with me, wasn't it?" Rachel frowned at Hazama, "To not just trap me...but to use me as bait."
"Well, when setting up a plan…oftentimes, it takes another to help complete it," Hazama responded as Zs'Skayr floated up to Raquel to examine her.
"Hm…my…my," he whispered as he grasped her face, making her close an eye shut as she glared at him a bit with the other, "The amount of magic coming off this one…a prime offering for his majesty…" she whipped her head back before spitting right in his face, "..."
"Happy? You made me do such a…ech…uncouth thing," she shuddered a bit, yet her glare never left her face.
"Oh~ And she's a fighter, too~" Junko grinned widely before cackling in her 'foul mouthed' persona, "The Vladite King's gonna be feeling good tonight and bring forth mass Despair!"
"Well, it should work," Zs'Skayr laughed, "Let's be off. The sooner we get to work, the faster we can enjoy victory."
"LIKE HELL YOU ARE!" Naoto shouted, his hearing finally back as he shot towards Zs'Skayr with a blood red energy fist.
*SLASH!*
"?!" Naoto tensed as he was stopped in the air just inches away from Zs'Skayr, coughing up some blood as one of Hazama's snake chains had chomped down hard on his stomach.
"Ah…so close…and yet so far~" Zs'Skayr taunted as he summoned his scythe, "A shame your objection has been revoked…but the 'wedding' for his majesty's revival will soon be upon us. Unfortunately for you however…you're not invited!" he slashed his scythe across Naoto's shoulder, causing a large gash to appear down his shoulder to his exposed side as blood spilled.
"GAH!"
"NAOTO!"
Z0: Well…that was a surprise. *looks down at my hands* Hey…I'm not a monster anymore. Guys the…gh! *city is burned into hell on earth* Did I do that?

SZ: Zzz…like, review and subscribe for more…
Z0: That and…*turns around as an ancient mayan temple bursts from the ground* Ah right…I forgot to seal away an end of the world, evil god…
GT: …Read and Review, folks. Hopefully, Z0 has the evil god sealed back up with a black eye by the time the next chapter is being worked on.
Z0: *loading shotgun* I'm on it.
