Location: Stargate Command, Briefing Room
Time: Two days after the mission to P3X-118

James sat quietly in the SG-1 briefing room, feeling the residual excitement from his last mission to P3X-118 still buzzing in his veins. Since gaining the Alterian Technology Mastery and Energy Manipulation skills, he had become a powerhouse, and it didn't go unnoticed. The rest of the team had been giving him a mix of awe and caution, especially after the mysterious encounter with the Ascended being.

"Alright, folks," General Hammond began as he entered the room. "Based on the intel from your last mission, we've identified another planet that might hold valuable Ancient technology. P3R-272."

Jack leaned back in his chair, looking at Hammond with his usual easygoing smirk. "What are the odds of running into trouble this time, sir?"

"As usual, Colonel," Hammond said with a sigh, "we'll plan for the worst and hope for the best."

"James, you ready for another adventure?" Samantha asked with a playful grin, noticing the energy James couldn't seem to contain.

James grinned back. "I was born ready! Besides, I can always level up again, right?"

Jack rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, just don't blow anything up this time."

With their orders clear, the team prepped for their new mission to P3R-272. James felt a familiar tingle of anticipation—the thrill of discovery. This planet had been highlighted due to the possibility of advanced Ancient technology, and for James, this meant one thing: more power-ups.

As SG-1 emerged from the Stargate onto P3R-272, they were greeted by a barren, rocky landscape with strange stone monoliths towering above them. The sky was overcast, casting a dim, eerie light over the desolate terrain.

"This place feels… empty," Samantha muttered, surveying the area.

"I agree," Teal'c said, scanning the horizon for any signs of movement. "There is no immediate threat."

James, however, felt something entirely different. "I'm not so sure. I think there's something here, something big."

"Big, like trouble?" Jack asked, eyebrow raised.

"More like… knowledge," James said, his eyes narrowing as he concentrated. There was a hum in the air, a pull that he couldn't ignore. "I think we need to head that way." He pointed toward a particularly large monolith, which stood out even among the towering stones.

"Lead the way, Energizer," Jack quipped, though his tone was only half-serious.

The group moved cautiously toward the monolith, weapons ready. As they got closer, a soft blue light began to emanate from the stone structure. James felt a familiar energy, similar to the technology they had encountered on P3X-118, but older—much older.

When they reached the base of the monolith, a large, circular platform with intricate designs appeared beneath their feet, glowing faintly.

"This looks like some kind of Ancient tech," Samantha said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "But I've never seen anything like it before."

James stepped forward, feeling an almost magnetic pull. "I think this is why we're here."

Without thinking, he placed his hand on the monolith. The instant his fingers touched the stone, a surge of energy shot through him, freezing him in place. His eyes widened as holographic symbols appeared around him, swirling in intricate patterns.

"James!" Samantha shouted, reaching out to him, but an invisible barrier stopped her in her tracks.

"Stay back!" James shouted, struggling to control the flow of energy.

His head felt like it was going to explode as streams of Ancient knowledge began pouring into his mind. It wasn't just information—it was everything. He could see the history of the Ancients, their technology, their rise, their fall. It was too much.

"Ah! It's too much!" James shouted, stumbling backward as the flood of information became overwhelming. His mind was trying to process all of it, but it felt like his brain was being stretched beyond its limits.

Suddenly, the energy cut off, and James collapsed to his knees, gasping for air.

"James, are you alright?" Samantha asked, rushing to his side now that the barrier had disappeared.

"I think… I just downloaded everything," he muttered, clutching his head. "I know everything about the Ancients. Their technology, their history… I think I even understand how they ascended."

"That's… a lot to take in," Jack said, looking both impressed and worried.

Teal'c helped James to his feet, his expression stoic as ever. "Your abilities continue to grow. But you must exercise caution."

James nodded, but his mind was racing. He had access to knowledge that could change everything. The Ancient tech he could now build, the understanding of the Stargate network, and even the secret to ascending—it was all at his fingertips.

"I need time to process all of this," James said, still rubbing his temples. "But trust me, this is going to be a game-changer."

"Let's hope it doesn't fry your brain first," Jack remarked, his tone more serious than usual.

As they began to head back toward the Stargate, James couldn't shake the feeling that this download wasn't just about gaining power. There was something more—something deeper that the Ancients had left behind. He just needed to figure out what it was.
