Chapter 4
Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Kyojuro were almost to the Rengoku residence. As they walked through the night, Tanjiro was deep in thought.
I wonder how Rengoku's younger brother will react to finding out his older brother is a demon. Will he be scared?
Tanjiro glanced at Rengoku. His scent has changed. His human scent still lingers but his new demon scent is starting to be overwhelming.
He saw that Nezuko was walking alongside Kyojuro. They both seem to be in happy spirits.
At least Nezuko took a liking to Mr. Rengoku. And Rengoku doesn't seem to mind at all. Tanjiro smiled, knowing that Kyojuro has now accepted Nezuko as one of their ranks. They had a conversation about that when they started their journey to Rengoku's residence. But then Tanjiro's smile faded a little as another concerning thought came to mind. Still, that look in Rengoku's eyes. Could it be possible that he could be even more dangerous than Nezuko? Or any of the demons I went against?
"We're here." Kyojuro announced.
Tanjiro saw that they arrived at the Rengoku Estate. They entered and Rengoku sild open the door to his estate. When he opened the door, Kyojuro found his brother standing there, eyes filled with surprise.
"Brother?" his younger brother said.
"Hello, Senjuro. I am home." Kyojuro said with a soft smile.
Senjuro ran over and hugged his older brother. Kyojuro accepted the loving embrace.
"I'm so glad you're home." Senjuro said, voice close to tears.
"Yes." Kyojuro said as he got out of Senjuro's embrace. He held his younger brother's hands in his. "It's good to be home."
Then as Senjuro looked up at his brother, he noticed something different. His eyes widened.
"Brother, your eyes, they're different." He looked down at his brother's hands and saw the orange-red claws. "And your hands... What happened to you?"
Kyojuro went down on his knees to be at eye level with him.
"Senjuro, there is something I need to tell you." Kyojuro looked at Tanjiro. "Young Kamado, would you please wait outside for us."
"Of course." Tanjiro said as he bowed. "I understand. Come on Nezuko." Tanjiro grabbed his sister's hand and led her outside.
Tanjiro and Nezuko sat outside in silence. After a long while, the door slid open and Kyojuro and Senjuro walked out. Tanjiro stood up, worry written on his face.
"Did everything go alright?" Tanjiro asked.
"Yes. Everything went well." Kyojuro said.
Senjuro walked up to Tanjiro. "My brother told me everything. How you were on the mission with him. You have a sister who is a demon?"
"Yes. I'm Tanjiro Kamado and this is my sister, Nezuko. She was turned into a demon and I promised I would turn her back." Tanjiro said.
"You can turn a demon back into a human?" Senjuro asked.
"I'm not sure but I'm going to try!" Tanjiro said with determination.
"That means you can turn my brother back as well?" Senjuro asked, hopeful.
Tanjiro looked at Senjuro with surprise but then he smiled. "Yes. I will make sure both our siblings turn back into a human."
Senjuro smiled at Tanjiro. "Thank you, Tanjiro."
