Author's Note: So I was deciding on writing all of Episode 2 but I figured that would be too much writing and writing takes a lot of energy from me so I'll just cut small parts of each episode and put them in as chapters. Hope you guys continue to enjoy! This fanfic is so far a hit!
Chapter 7
"Entertainment... District?" Tanjiro said in wonder.
"Y-you know, that place with all the beautiful - th-the shapely- Y-you get what I'm trying to say, right? Come on!" Zenitsu said.
Tanjiro and Inosuke looked at Zenitsu oddly.
"Listen up! I am a god! You three are trash!" Uzui told the three. "That's the first bit of info you need to pound into your heads, so drive it in! You turn into dogs if I say so! Turn into monkeys if I tell you!"
"So be ready to bend over backwards, pander to my every whim, and worship me endlessly! And remember above all else... I am a god!"
"Oh, this guy is crazy." Zenitsu said.
"Quick question, Lord Uzui, what exactly are you the god of?" Tanjiro asked politely.
Zenitsu looked at Tanjiro, confused. "Please tell me he's playing dumb."
"Good question, pupil. You have great potential." Uzui said.
"What potential lies in a stupid question like that?" Zenitsu said under his breath.
"I am the god of festivals, the god of flashiness." Uzui answered.
"Yeah, there's no doubt about it." Zenitsu said with a flat expression. "He's the god of stupidity and idiots."
"Well, I am the King of the Mountains!" Inosuke said with pride. "It's a pleasure to meet you, God of Festivals!"
Tanjiro and Zenitsu looked at Inosuke, dumbfounded. Uzui also looked at Inosuke, dumbfounded.
"I've never heard of you. That's odd. Something about you creeps me out." Uzui said.
"You're kidding right?! You two are match made in heaven! Cringeworthy!" Zenitsu said.
Tanjiro wrapped his arms around Inosuke, trying to prevent him from going off on Tengen.
"Right. That's enough fooling around. Let's go." Uzui said. He was about to head off, but he was stopped by Tanjiro.
"Uh, Mr. Uzui." Tanjiro began.
Uzui turned around.
"Would it be alright if Rengoku were to come?" Tanjiro asked.
"Rengoku? Why would you want him to come?" Uzui asked, crossing his arms.
"It's just that, I feel guilty at failing to save him from becoming a demon, just like I failed to be there for my sister when she was attacked. I also feel like I should keep an eye on him, in case something bad were to happen." Tanjiro explained, emotion getting to him.
Uzui looked down at Tanjiro with an unreadable look. This kid. Rengoku must've made a big impact on him.
"Alright. I accept. We can have Rengoku come along. Besides, he may make this mission extra flashy!" Uzui said.
"Thank you, Uzui." Tanjiro said with relief.
"Now. Follow me." Uzui sped off, already a speck in the distance.
"Huh? He disappeared?" Zenitsu said. "Look! He's fast! Look how far he got! He's the size of a seasme seed!"
"So this is the power of the God of Festivals." Inosuke said.
"No way. He's just Mr. Tengen Uzui, a Hashira." Tanjiro said.
"What are you waiting around for? We have to go after him!" Zenitsu said.
All three ran after Uzui. Tanjiro had a smile on his face. He would get to see Rengoku again.
Early Night At The Entertainment District
Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Uzui arrived at the Entertainment District. The three were astonished at how beautiful and lively it was.
"Listen, you three. Try not to stand out. We're only here to case the joint. And whatever you do, don't get out of the carriage." Uzui explained. "Now, I'm going to meet up with Rengoku so I want you three to stay here."
Ignoring what Uzui just said, Zenitsu and Inosuke jumped out of the carriage. Tanjiro tried to stop them. He got out of the carriage to chase after the two.
"What a bunch of hardheaded idiots." Uzui said irately.
"Uzui." said a voice.
Tengen turned to see Kyojuro Rengoku standing in front of him. "Nice to see you again."
"Nice to see you too. Did you walk all the way here?" Tengen asked him.
"I did. All I had to do was follow the directions you sent me." Rengoku responded.
Uzui went in deep in thought for a moment. Right. Rengoku's a demon now. Which means his speed is even quicker than a normal human's.
"Anyway, I need to find these three idiots. The ones that went with you on your mission."
"Ah! Giving you a hard time already?" Rengoku laughs. "Then let's be on our way to find them!"
Back with the three, Inosuke was having a tough time adapting with his new surroundings. Tanjiro managed to find him in the crowd. He saw how disoriented Inosuke looked.
"Settle down, Inosuke." Tanjiro comforted him.
"Get back here, damn it!" Uzui yelled out once he found Inosuke and Tanjiro.
Then Uzui spotted Zenitsu. "I'm talking to you too! Are you listening to me?"
"Young Kamado!"
Tanjiro turned to see Rengoku at his side. "Mr. Rengoku! I'm so glad you're okay!"
"Indeed, young Kamado!"
"Your eyes. And your scent. They've changed back to normal?" Tanjiro said.
"Yes! Though it was difficult to handle, I do believe that my body is changing and adapting to my new demonic power."
"I see. Are you sure you're going to be okay on this mission?"
"To be honest, I am unsure but, I know you will jump in when necessary." Rengoku said with certainty.
Tanjiro smiled and then he brought his attention back to the area around him.
"It's so bright. It looks like it's daytime." Tanjiro said, now focused back to the area around him.
"Allow me to introduce you to the Yoshiwara Entertainment District, awash in vanity and desire. Flashy, isn't it?" Uzui said.
"Hmph! It is indeed flashy!" Rengoku said.
"What kind of place is this?! There's too many people to even count!" Inosuke felt himself grow dizzy. He suddenly charged into the crowd, causing Uzui to run in after him.
Uzui rushed back with Inosuke over his shoulders. He noticed Zenitsu gone.
"Hey! Where'd the annoying kid with the yellow hair go?' Uzui asked Tanjiro.
Zenitsu was walking around. A few young woman called down to him from a balcony. Shy and nervous, Zenitsu covered his face and ran off. He started dreaming about what to do when a girl makes the first move.
"Not so fast!" Uzui said as he dragged Zenitsu back. "You're too young for that kinda stuff."
Tanjiro looked up at Rengoku. "Rengoku, how are you holding up? Is this your first time in the Entertainment District?"
"Yes. Though it is quite magnificent, and it may be different from the missions I went on, nonetheless, it is still a mission. We are here to find the demons and exterminate them." Rengoku said.
"It's not the only thing we're here to do. We're here to find my three wives."
