Chapter 17: Supermania

Copper Canyon Jail, where all the worst of the worst in Copper Canyon are imprisoned. Inside, Toxzon and Fishy were playing chess inside their prison cell. "Would you hurry it up? It's your move." Fishy said, getting impatient. "Okay, okay, Fishy. Relax." Toxzon said. He moved his Castle forward, making his move. But then, Fishy's move took out the Castle with a Knight, making Toxzon groan. "You just happen to be a formidable opponent." He said as a guard walked by, hearing him talk to his plastic fish. "Boy, you sure are a kook, Xander." The guard said. "I told you, the name is Toxzon!" Toxzon exclaimed. "Not in here, it's not. Not since Max Steel and his team took you down." The guard said before leaving.

Toxzon snarled at that name. "Max Steel, the Mana Quints, and their friends. Oh, what I wouldn't give for some payback." He said. "And we'll have it. Just as soon as we get out of here. How much more time we looking at?" Fishy asked. "Hmm. Let's see." Toxzon looked at a complex time calculation that he scratched onto the wall himself, along with exed out drawings of Max Steel, the Mana Quints and their teammates. "297 years, 8 months, 12 days and 42 minutes. And that's with good behavior." He explained. "Not exactly our strong suit." Fishy said. "No! Which is why I have a different exit strategy." Toxzon said. This made Fishy smile with interest. "They say chess is a game about biding your time and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Well, the same is true for life." Toxzon explained as he took out Fishy's Knight with his Queen. "Wait. Does this mean you're…finally ready to make your move?" Fishy asked. "No! It means the fools in this prison thought that by draining my suit of its toxicity, they were draining me of my powers. But…" Toxzon explained. "But…" Fishy started to say. "But what they didn't realize is my pollutant power comes from the very blood that runs through my veins." Toxzon explained. Fishy shuddered with excitement at that. "Slowly, I've been reconstituting my toxic strength. And now…" Toxzon explained. "Now…" Fishy started to say. "Now I've got a full tank." Toxzon said as his toxic blood started fueling his suit. "This has been a long time coming." He said as his full power returned.

"Hey! What's going on in here?" The guard asked as he came back. "Early release program!" Toxzon exclaimed as he fired his gunk attack, sticking the guard to the wall. He sucked Fishy back into his tank and fired more gunk at the wall in his cell. As the gunk slowly started burning away at the bricks, he punched the wall and blew it open, setting off the alarm as he leapt down from his cell. Just then, searchlights were set on him. 2 guards on the watch towers fired at him with laser guns, but he blocked the blasts with ooze shields and fired 2 more gunk blasts at them. "Ah. Fresh air." He said, inhaling his own toxic fumes. "At least, it was before you got here." Fishy said. "Put your hands up, Xander!" The leader exclaimed as his squad surrounded Toxzon. "With pleasure." Toxzon said, raising his hands and firing a toxic cloud at the guards. "I can't see!" The leader exclaimed, coughing from the toxic cloud. Toxzon cackled as he took off into the air. "Freedom is mine! And soon, so shall be…revenge!" He exclaimed.

Later, N-Tek arrived at the prison. "Ugh! This just plain stinks!" Jefferson exclaimed in disgust as he examined Toxzon's goop. "That's Toxzon for you. He always stinks." Yeager said as he and the team leapt down from Toxzon's cell. Max wasn't there because he came down with a cold and was really sick. Steel stayed behind to watch over his sick partner. "I wish that were true. But I just did a 5-mile perimeter search and couldn't pick up his scent." Kat said as she walked up. "That's impossible. How could someone so crazy and smelly as Toxzon be so good at covering their tracks?" Rayne asked. "He was a bit of a neat freak before he became so pollutant, remember?" Zad explained. "So, what's our next move, guys?" Vandana asked. She was currently leading the team while Max was unavailable. "With no leads, no clues and no way to predict what that psychopath is up to, all we can do is keep our eyes and ears open." Jefferson explained. "At least that spares our noses." Alex said, feeling nauseous from the smell of Toxzon's goop.

With that, everyone prepared to leave. "Wait! Hold on!" The guard from Toxzon's cell called as he ran up to the team. As they turned around to face him, he held out a comic book. "A comic book?" Vandana asked as she took it. "Yeah. Well, you guys and Max Steel are the closest thing to real-life superheroes there are. So, I thought you guys signing this would be kinda cool." The guard explained. The team looked at each other. "Anyway, if you wouldn't mind?" The guard asked as he took out a pen. "Sure. It'd be an honor." Vandana said as she and the team each signed their superhero signatures on the comic book's cover. That made the guard very happy. "Wow! Hey, thanks. Sure, it might not be the same without Max Steel, but this is the best day ever." He said. Everyone looked at him with confusion. "You know, aside from that homicidal maniac escaping and all." He said sheepishly as a chunk burned off from Toxzon's escape hole. As the team and N-Tek left in their Hopper, a cloaked figure was watching them from the prison roof. As he watched them fly away, he turned to walk away and disappeared.

Meanwhile, Toxzon was staring out at Copper Canyon. "Ah, Copper Canyon, the shining city on a hill." He said. "Well, canyon actually." Fishy corrected. "Whatever. It's the place Max Steel and his little band of heroes call home. The place they've made it their mission to protect. So…" Toxzon started to explain. "So…" Fishy said. "So, what better way to have our payback then by wiping it from the map?!" Toxzon exclaimed. "Ooh, me like-y. Go on." Fishy said. "I'm gonna take this city by storm! One they'll never forget." Toxzon said as he flew towards the city.

Meanwhile, at the apartment, everyone was sound asleep. But in the boys' shared room, Yeager and Zad couldn't get to sleep, because Steel was watching a late-night cartoon about superheroes, called Hero-Man. Due to Max's sickness, he was sound asleep like he was in a coma. "Steel, could you turn that down? We're trying to sleep." Yeager said. "Yeager, could you keep it down? I'm trying to watch this." Steel said. Yeager and Zad groaned as they tried to go back to sleep while Steel continued watching his show.

[Cartoon]

The evil reptilian supervillain, Cobrassaurus, was firing a poisonous blast at the city, destroying it. The 2 resident superheroes, Hero-Man and Laser-Lass, had just arrived on the scene. "Oh no, Hero-Man! Cobrassaurus is destroying the city! How are we going to stop him?" Laser-Lass asked with worry. "Like so." Hero-Man said. He took off and flew towards Cobrassaurus. But as he head-butted Cobrassaurus, he was knocked down. "You lost, Hero-Man!" Laser-Lass cried with worry. "Sometimes, you must lose the fight to win the battle." Hero-Man said. "Now say goodbye to your precious city!" Cobrassaurus cackled. But as he prepared another poison blast, instead of his usual poisonous venom, he fired a rainbow beam and restored the city. "NO! MY VENOM!" He cried. "You mean anti-venom. At least, ever since I just injected you with this." Hero-Man said, holding up an empty syringe. "My work here is done. Until next time, ascend, ascend and depart!"

[Cartoon End]

"Whoa. Ascend and depart. That's cool." Steel said in awe as he turned off the TV. "I see why you humans are so attracted to these superheroes. They're your modern myths. I must know more." He went over to Max's computer and started looking up comic books to buy online.

The next morning, Yeager and Zad were slowly starting to wake up. "Kids! Kids, can you come out here please?" Molly called. Yeager and Zad got up and walked out to the living room. Vandana, Wandella and Xena followed soon after. "What's up, Aunt Molly?" Wandella asked. "You tell us." Molly said as she and Amelia stood in the middle of hundreds of boxes. "What're all these?" Zad asked as he and his siblings opened the boxes. "Comic books? Action figures? This is all superhero stuff." Xena said. Steel, in his android body, came out. "Boy, am I wiped. I was up all-night reading about superheroes on the internet." He said before seeing the packaged boxes that he ordered. "Oh, sweet. My stuff arrived." He ran towards the boxes and started opening them up. "Your stuff?" Amelia asked sternly. "Yeah. Overnight delivery is so worth the extra expense." Steel said as he looked through all the boxes. He put on a new t-shirt. "Check out my Flying Rodent-Man t-shirt. Does it fit? It's a large." He said. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! You bought all of this stuff?" Vandana asked. "On my credit card. You should know better than that, Steel." Molly said. "But-" Steel tried to say. "No buts, Steel. We want it all returned before Molly and I get home tonight." Amelia said as she and Molly left the apartment. The Ferrus Quintuplets all glared at Steel. "Did I mention that I also got you guys t-shirts too?" Steel asked sheepishly as he got out matching Flying Rodent-Man t-shirts, one for each of the team.

As the quintuplets each took a shirt, Steel received a call. "It's N-Tek." He said. He displayed a hologram of Kat from his android eyes. "Hey, Kat. What's up?" Vandana asked. "It's Toxzon. We found him." Kat said. "That's great. Is he back in jail?" Yeager asked. "No. He's at the Copper Canyon Hazardous Waste Plant." Kat said. "That's only a few miles from our apartment." Xena said. Suddenly, there was an explosion outside the apartment. Steel and the Ferrus Quintuplets looked out the window and saw a large smoke cloud. "That's not good. That's a chemical fire." Steel said. "Toxzon." Zad guessed. "Steel, call Alex, Rayne and C.Y.T.R.O. We gotta get down there." Vandana said.

Later, the team met up in an alley as they watched firetrucks heading towards the hazardous waste plant. "We need to hurry, team. If that fire spreads any further, who knows what damage it'll cause." Wandella said. "Right. Let's go." Vandana said. The team ran into the alley to suit up. "Alright, team. Suit up!" Vandana ordered as she and her siblings transformed into the Mana Quints. Alex and Rayne activated their wristbands and transformed into La Fiera and Tempestra. "Observation. We are ready to stop that fire." C.Y.T.R.O. said. "Not yet. It's my turn." Steel said. "Uh, Steel, you can't do anything without linking up with Max." Xena said. "Not to worry, guys. Max and I have been training with this android body and discovered a new trick." Steel said. "Go Turbo! Super!" He transformed his android body into a superhero-themed Turbo Mode. "Ugh! What is that?!" Rayne exclaimed. "It's my new superhero look. Sweet abs, right?" Steel asked, showing off his new 20 abs. Wandella felt like puking. "As a fashion expert, I'm just gonna say…you look ridiculous!" Yeager exclaimed. "I look awesome! Ascend, ascend and depart!" Steel exclaimed, repeating Hero-Man's quote. But before he could take off, Vandana ensnared his arm with her mana whip. "No, no, you are not departing anywhere looking like that, Steel." She said strictly. "And what's with that stupid cape? Why's it sticking straight out like that?" Alex asked. "It's perfect. It makes it look like I'm flying." Steel said. "Observation. You can already fly. Especially with Max's Turbo Flight Mode." C.Y.T.R.O. said. "But now, it looks like I'm flying all the time. This is the coolest thing ever!" Steel said excitedly. Suddenly, an explosion went off in the hazardous waste plant, getting everyone's attention. "Time for Copper Canyon to witness the mightiness of its new superhero, Supermania!" Steel announced, forming a big metal S on his suit before taking off into the sky. "Oh, this discussion is not over." Vandana groaned in annoyance.

As the firetrucks arrived and the firefighters got out their hoses to put out the fire, Steel flew overhead and spotted 3 plant workers trapped by the fire. "3 workers in trouble. I must save those innocent civilians from certain doom!" He announced in hero-talk. He dived down towards the firetrucks and grabbed 3 of the hoses. "Time to give this scorcher a little spritz." He declared. But as he sprayed the fire with the hoses, the flames just got bigger. "Oh, of course that water isn't always effective against a chemical fire. I need an earth solid, something that'll suffocate the flames." He explained. As the police arrived, he started looking at the pavement, getting an idea as he scanned it. "This fire is making me angry. It wouldn't like me when I'm angry!" He exclaimed as he marched over to the pavement, making the police confused. He reached for the pavement and prepared to rip off a chunk. "Go Turbo! Super Strength!" He exclaimed, morphing into his own Strength Mode, complete with purple shorts. He lifted the chunk of pavement up and leaped high into the air just as the team arrived. "What's he doing?!" Rayne asked. "SUPERMANIA SMASH!" Steel shouted as he smashed the pavement chunk, spreading the dust on the fire to suffocate it. "Stop! You don't know what you're doing!" Vandana exclaimed. But Steel ignored her as he continued ripping up chunks and smashing them until he created enough dust to suffocate the whole fire, freeing the workers.

Everyone cheered for Steel. "All in a day's work, citizens." He said. Just then, Vandana cleared her throat. Steel turned to see the team, glaring at him unamused by his cheesy heroics with their arms folded. "Need I remind you that our work's not yet done? We still gotta find Toxzon." Vandana said. "He was heading to the factory processor." One of the workers said. "To the processor then!" Steel announced before taking off. The team groaned as they face palmed themselves.

Later, the team entered the factory processor. "Careful, team. My Turbo Sense is tingling." Steel said as they looked around. "Your what?" Alex asked in confusion. "My Turbo Sense. It alerts me when danger is afoot." Steel said. "Steel, you don't have a Turbo Sense." Wandella said. "I most certainly do." Steel said. "No, you don't. Just because you read about it in a comic book, doesn't mean that you actually have it." Vandana said. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Max Steel's little friends." Toxzon said as he leapt out of hiding, onto a stack of barrels, and sporting a brand-new orange toxic color. "See. Danger." Steel said. "Will you shush?!" Vandana exclaimed. "Wait. Where's Max Steel? I was expecting him, not you lot." Toxzon said. "He's out sick, Toxzon. And now you face the wrath of Supermania!" Steel announced heroically. "Worst superhero name ever." Rayne muttered. "Nice outfit, Supermania. I see someone's taking to their role as Copper Canyon's newest protector." Toxzon said as he flew around the team. "We see you got a new makeover yourself. Orange does seem to bring out your eyes." Yeager said. "You kids might not like it as much when I DESTROY THE CITY!" Toxzon exclaimed. "Wrong, you treacherous snake! Your villainous ways end here!" Steel exclaimed heroically. "Hey, let us handle this, newbie." Alex said. "Guys, I got this." Steel said. "No, we got this." Vandana said. "Come on, please!" Steel whined. "Do you kids need a minute?" Toxzon asked as he landed. "Fine. Give it a shot." Vandana groaned. "Put up your hands like a good supervillain." Steel demanded heroically. "Whatever you say, Turbo Boy." Toxzon said, raising his hands. But then, he fired a gas cloud at the team and bashed through them, making his escape.

The cloud cleared as Jefferson and Kat arrived on the scene. The team, having been bashed into the barrel stacks, recovered from Toxzon's attack. "Super move, Super Steel." Zad said sarcastically. "Yeah. Toxzon got away. Now what?" Rayne asked. "We must return to the Fortress of Steelitude and regroup!" Steel announced heroically.

Later, as the team returned to N-Tek, they, Forge, Kat and Jefferson looked at a holographic map of the city. "That fire Xander started was bad. But not bad enough to destroy the entire city." Kat said. "So, you think he hit up that waste plant for another reason." Jefferson guessed as he ate a burger. "Looks that way." Forge said. "But the question is what?" Vandana asked. "What indeed, my heroic comrades." Steel said as he entered, still wearing his superhero suit. Forge, Kat and Jefferson laughed at Steel's appearance while the team glared at him. "What?" Steel asked, confused. "Sorry, Steel. It's just…how many abs do you got there? Like 20?" Jefferson asked. "I didn't even know that was anatomically possible." Kat said. "You know, I had fond memories of reading comic books as a kid. You just ruined that for me." Forge said. "You see, Steel? Not everyone is impressed by your ridiculous look." Vandana said. "Whatever. You're all just jealous. After all, not everyone is superhero material like us." Steel said. "You're right. Some of us have our dignity." Jefferson said with his mouth full, making Forge disgusted. "Guys!" Berto called as he and Al ran in. But before any of them could speak, they were stunned by Steel's look. "What?" Steel asked in confusion. "What is it, you 2?" Forge asked.

Later, the team entered the security section of the base, where they were greeted by 2 other scientists, an Asian man and his wife. "Commander Forge, we're glad you're here." The man said. "There's something we discovered." The wife said. "Kids, meet 2 of our top scientists. This is Toshiro and Margaret Hamada." Forge introduced. "It is an honor to meet the commander's children." Toshiro said. "Though it's sad that Max isn't here too." Margaret said. "That's okay. It's an honor to meet you both too." Vandana said, shaking Toshiro and Margaret's hands. "Anyway, what did you 2 want to show us?" Forge asked. "We checked the security footage of Toxzon leaving the plant, and look what we found." Margaret said, bringing up the plant's security footage. As Toxzon broke out of the building, he was carrying one of the barrels from inside. "What's that?" Kat asked. "Some seriously nasty stuff." Berto said. "Yes. He went to that waste plant to rip some of it off." Toshiro said. "So, the fire was only a diversion." Zad guessed. "I'm afraid it gets worse. We analyzed all the various ways these chemicals could be combined and kept coming up with the same thing." Margaret said, showing the data on the chemical. "Well, spit it out!" Forge exclaimed. "A large scale, liquid-based contaminant. We think Toxzon's planning to poison the city's water supply." Al said.

"Jefferson, take a team to the Copper Canyon reservoir. Kat, hit up all the city water utilities. Nothing comes in, nothing comes out. Berto, Al, Toshiro, Margaret, you work on a counteragent for whatever Toxzon's cooking up." Forge ordered. "What about us, Dad?" Wandella asked. "Scour the city. Hopefully, we can find this maniac before he makes his move." Forge said. "Hold up. We're receiving a call from someone." Berto said as the base started getting a call. "Who is it?" Forge asked. "Don't know. There's no name." Al said. "Patch it through." Forge said. Berto answered the call and opened a video call from the hooded figure. "Greetings, N-Tek. No worries. I'm here to help." The hooded figure said. "Who are you? What do you want?" Forge asked. "I wish to meet with Max Steel's team. I'm sending my coordinates. Meet me here and I'll explain everything." The hooded figure explained, sending his coordinates before ending the call. "Coordinates received." Berto said. "To the Turbo Cycle!" Steel exclaimed heroically, making the team groan. "Love the cape, by the way." Berto said. "Don't encourage him, bro." Rayne said.

Later, the team arrived at the hooded figure's coordinates. They met up with him on the rooftop of a tall building in the city. "You made it. I'm glad you could." The hooded figure said. "You said you wanted to help. How can you help?" Alex asked. "Simple. I know Toxzon's every intention to poison the city. I know this because…he's my uncle." He said, pulling off his hood to reveal his face. The team was shocked at his face as he was almost identical to Toxzon before his mutation, but younger. "You're Toxzon's nephew?!" Xena exclaimed. "Yes. My name is Iden Wylie. But believe me when I say that I'm here to help." Iden said. Just then, before anyone could say anything, Steel received a call from Jefferson and Kat. "We're at the reservoir and he's not here." Jefferson said. "All quiet at the city utilities." Kat said. The team got confused. "I don't get it. How can Toxzon poison the city's water if he's not near any water?" Alex asked, confusedly. "I know how my crazy uncle's gonna do that." Iden said. Suddenly, the sky turned orange and it started to rain. "Huh. Looks like rain." Xena said. Just then, one of the raindrops burned through the roof. "Not just rain." Steel said. "Don't worry if you forgot your umbrella! This stuff would eat right through it anyway!" Toxzon exclaimed as he flew by, releasing a chemical cloud into the air. "Acid rain?!" The team exclaimed simultaneously.

The civilians ran for cover to avoid getting burned by the acid rain. "Say goodbye to your precious city!" Toxzon exclaimed. "Team, let's fly!" Vandana ordered. The team took off into the sky, leaving Iden to watch from the roof. "What the heck is this stuff?" Rayne asked, wiping a bit of the rain off her mask. "It's just like Berto, Al, Toshiro and Margaret said. Toxzon's contaminating the water. Only, he's doing so while it's still in vapor form." Steel explained as he scanned one of the clouds while they chased after Toxzon. "My android body and your costumes should be able to stand the toxins. But Copper Canyon won't be so lucky." "You mean the whole city's gonna melt away?" Alex asked with worry. "While melt isn't scientifically accurate, but yes." Steel said. "Well, let's stop it team!" Vandana ordered. The team tackled Toxzon, bringing him down towards the buildings. "Ka-Blam!" Steel exclaimed as they slammed him into a glass window. "Pow! Wham!" He exclaimed, punching Toxzon in the face before tossing him away. "Really, Steel? You're doing superhero sound effects now too?" Xena asked in disbelief. "It's part of the culture." Steel said. Suddenly, Toxzon recovered and punched each of the team, knocking them into the street. "Really? Is getting our butts handed to us part of the culture too? Because news flash: THAT'S WHAT'S HAPPENING!" Wandella exclaimed. "Then it's a good thing we sent backup." Berto said through the com-link. "Observation. My armor is toxic proof and ready for a challenge." C.Y.T.R.O. said as he arrived. "Glad you could make it, big guy." Vandana said.

"Well, if it isn't my old friend, C.Y.T.R.O." Toxzon said as he landed on a building nearby. Suddenly, he was blasted into the street by a gunk blast. "What?! This is…my gunk?!" He asked in shock. Just then, everyone looked up as Iden flew down to them, using Toxzon's surfing trick. "Iden?!" Toxzon exclaimed, mixed with surprise and shock. "Hello, Uncle Xander. Happy to see me?" Iden asked in sarcasm. "My own nephew, working with my mortal enemies?!" Toxzon exclaimed. "You didn't really give me much choice, Uncle. You really flipped your wig this time." Iden said. "Be that as it may, nephew, I'd love to stay and catch up, but…" Toxzon fired several globs at the street before they transformed into Goopanoids. "…I have a city to poison!" He exclaimed before taking off.

"We don't have time for this!" Rayne exclaimed as the Goopanoids marched towards her and the team. "Affirmative. Let us cut to the chase." C.Y.T.R.O. said as he brought out the Turbo Sword. "Now we're talking. Pull!" Steel called. As C.Y.T.R.O. tossed the sword into the air, Steel leapt up and caught it, powering it up with Turbo Energy. "Sweet! It's a superhero team-up!" Steel exclaimed heroically. C.Y.T.R.O. started blasting the Goopanoids. Wandella used her mana punches and knocked down every Goopanoid that came at her. When C.Y.T.R.O. was being piled on by Goopanoids, Vandana and Xena blasted them off with their mana blasts. Rayne threw lightning bolts at the Goopanoids, shocking them to pieces. Steel and Zad slashed through the Goopanoids with their swords. Yeager swung his mana hammer and knocked down several Goopanoids. A red rhino image appeared over Alex and disappeared into his body before he charged and bashed through several Goopanoids. As the last Goopanoid standing roared at the team, Iden stepped up, raised his hands and fired his own toxic cloud. The Goopanoid coughed from the cloud's toxicity and melted. "Whoa! How'd you do that?" Rayne asked in awe. "I'm gonna guess that it's probably…a Z-Gene power?" Yeager guessed. "Yes. I possess the same powers as my uncle. But my toxic powers are a whole lot different than my uncle's. True, they're toxic. But toxic only to pollution." Iden explained. The team was in awe at this information.

But suddenly, the globby remains of the Goopanoids started moving again. "What's happening?" Alex asked with worry. Just then, the globs combined with each other and reformed into a bigger Goopanoid with a tendril mouth, roaring at the team. "Never fear, comrades! I shall dispose of this beast!" Steel announced heroically. "Uh, how can he defeat a giant Goopanoid?" Iden asked. "Watch this." Vandana said. Steel grabbed his android head and popped it off. "What in the?!" Iden exclaimed in shock. "Oh, good lord!" Toxzon exclaimed in both fright and shock. "That was…extreme." Fishy said in shock. "Head's up, slimy!" Steel shouted as he threw his head at the Goopanoid. As the Goopanoid caught the head in its tendrils, the head exploded, thus, causing the entire body to be blown apart into bits of goo. "Just need to know how to use your head." Steel said as his head grew back. "Well, now that the Goop Patrol is taken care of, how are we gonna stop Toxzon's storm?" Yeager asked. "Observation. Berto, Al, Toshiro and Margaret supplied me with the counteragent." C.Y.T.R.O. said, supplied with the counteragent. "Right. If we can release it at the very epicenter of the storm, it should counteract the poison." Steel said. "Alright, team, let's shut Toxzon's storm down." Vandana said. "Ascend, ascend and depart!" Steel exclaimed heroically as the team all took off into the air.

The team closed in on the epicenter. "Almost to the epicenter. Ready the counteragent!" Steel called heroically. "Counteragent ready." C.Y.T.R.O. said, tossing the counteragent to Steel. "You got it, Steel!" Vandana exclaimed. "Releasing in 3, 2, 1!" Steel called, preparing to release the counteragent. But then, Toxzon fired at the team with a big gunk shot, sending them plummeting back towards the city. "Fraid not, heroes! You're not saving the day this time!" He exclaimed, blasting the team with his gunk shots. As he flew back into the clouds, the team managed to recover. "I think he's onto something there. We can't deploy the counteragent with him flying around up there." Iden said. "Then what can we do?" Alex asked. "Guys, I'm going back up there." Steel said. "What? Why?" Xena asked. "I have a plan." Steel said. "You sure it'll work?" Yeager asked. "No." Steel said. The team looked at each other, knowing that they were out of options. "Okay, Steel, go for it." Vandana said. Steel flew up towards Toxzon and grabbed him. But Toxzon head-butted him and broke free, sending him plummeting back into the street with a gunk blast and a punch. "Too easy." He said.

As Steel crashed back into the street, the team helped him recover. "That was your plan? You just totally got your butt kicked." Rayne said. "And look. Toxzon's deploying the rest of his gunk." Wandella said as Toxzon started releasing the rest of his chemical. "Indeed, he is." Steel said proudly. "Burn, baby! Burn!" Toxzon cheered. But suddenly, his chemical cloud turned blue and the storm started clearing up. The team was shocked and confused. "Observation. The clouds are reverting back to normal." C.Y.T.R.O. said. "How did you do it, Steel?" Vandana asked. "Sometimes, you must lose the fight to win the battle. I injected Toxzon with the counteragent." Steel explained, repeating Hero-Man's line. "WHAT?! No! You contaminated my contaminant!" Toxzon cried as he noticed the counteragent attached on his arm. "Just like when Hero-Man did the same to Cobrassaurus." Zad said. "And who says cartoons are bad for you?" Yeager asked. "Now to serve justice to that evildoer!" Steel exclaimed heroically. "You heard him. Turbo Team Assemble!" Vandana exclaimed. The team took off into the air to capture Toxzon. "They got us at checkmate. Let's beat it." Fishy said. "Not this time, heroes!" Toxzon exclaimed. He fired a big cloud of the counteragent, blinding the team. When the cloud cleared, Toxzon was gone. "He's gone." Xena said. "No matter. We'll see him again soon. I know it." Vandana said.

Later, the team returned to N-Tek and reported to Forge. "Copper Canyon sustained some serious damage from that acid rain. But it could've been a lot worse. All and all, job well done, team." Forge said. "Oh, speaking of the team, we brought in a new recruit." Xena said. "Daddy, Kat, Jefferson, Berto, Al, meet the newest member of our team. Iden Wylie, Toxzon's nephew." Vandana introduced as Iden walked in. Jefferson, Kat, Berto and Al were shocked while Forge just stared at Iden. "I didn't know Toxzon had a nephew." Jefferson said. "Neither did I." Kat said. "So, you were the one who called us and sent those coordinates for a meetup with the team." Forge guessed. "Yes, sir. If there's anything I can do to help, I'm at your service." Iden said. Everyone looked at Forge. "In that case…welcome to N-Tek, Iden." He said, offering a handshake. Iden accepted it with a smile. "But we're still sorry that Toxzon got away." Vandana said. "It's like you said, Van. He'll be back. Insane, tragic, gadget-based supervillains always make a return appearance. At least in the comic books." Steel said. Forge, Jefferson, Kat, Berto and Al walked out. "Okay, Steel, enough with all the comic book stuff already!" Wandella exclaimed. "Seriously, amigo, what's your deal?" Alex asked. "Beg your pardon?" Steel asked. "No, we're begging you. Your constant references, your sound effects and your costume. We can't take it anymore. You're obsessed." Zad said. "I am not! It's just…" Steel tried to say. "It's just what? Tell us. Please." Vandana said. "Guys, comic book characters all come from mysterious pasts and faraway worlds. Just like me. I don't know who I am or where I came from, but when I put on this costume, I feel like somebody." Steel explained with sadness. "Oh, Steel. We had no idea." Rayne said, feeling sad for Steel. "But you don't need a costume to be somebody. You are somebody." Zad said. "And at the very least, you're our friend." Vandana said. "You're my friends too. All of you." Steel said. The team all brought Steel into a big group hug. "Thanks, guys. And you know what? I think I'll ditch the costume." Steel said as they broke the hug. "Really?" Xena asked. "Yeah. But can I at least keep the name just in case?" Steel asked. "Well…the name Supermania was a bit off. How about…Titanium?" Yeager suggested. "Titanium? I like it." Steel said, liking his new superhero name. "Heh, you do. But also…lose the abs." Alex said. "Done." Steel said, making the team laugh as they all walked out of the room.

Later, as the team returned to the Ferrus-McGrath's apartment, they watched over Max as he still lay in bed. Steel scanned his health readings after de-linking from his android body. "His condition appears to be getting worse. I don't know if there's anything we can do to cure him." He said. The team grew worried for Max. Even the slugs and Whitney were worried. "Here. Let me give him this." Iden said as he walked in, holding a cup of a strange liquid. "What's that?" Vandana asked. "It's a special medicine I created. It'll help cure Max." Iden said. The team looked at Max, knowing that he really needed help. They let Iden through. He tipped the cup on Max's mouth and poured the medicine down his throat. As he stepped back, Max began to stir and recover. As he slowly opened his eyes, he saw everyone looking at him in relief. "Hey, guys. What happened? What'd I miss?" He asked. The team proceeded to tell him everything that had happened with Toxzon, Steel's comic book obsession and meeting Iden.

Meanwhile, back at N-Tek, Toshiro and Margaret were in their lab working on something. "We're getting close, Margaret. I can feel it." Toshiro said. "Me too, Toshiro. Soon, and hopefully, we'll be back in our home dimension." Margaret said. Nearby, there was a framed picture of them with 4 children and a Japanese woman.

Wow! Wasn't that amazing? Toxzon escapes from prison and the team go out to investigate while Max is sick. Meanwhile, Steel had started becoming interested in comic books and superheroes. He even created his own superhero mode for his android body, calling himself Supermania. Along the way, they meet 2 N-Tek scientists, Toshiro and Margaret Hamada, and Toxzon's nephew, Iden. Together, they managed to foil Toxzon's plan to destroy the city and cure Max's illness. Steel even decided to ditch the Supermania suit and rename himself Titanium. But where exactly did Toshiro and Margaret come from? What other adventures will Team Turbo have with Iden now part of the team? Leave a review if you'd like.
