Chapter 21: Elements of Surprise Pt 2

(Intro)

The new Elementor roared at Max's team, Forge, Ieuan, Jefferson and Kat before blasting them with a wind blast from his mouth and blowing them through the door to the Ultralink Chamber. As the Elementor entered the chamber, he tried to free the captive Ultralinks, but as he punched the energy barrier, he got pushed back by it. Frozen Killer skated up and fired several icicles at the barrier, but didn't even crack it. Just then, several agents entered the Ultralink Chamber and started blasting at them both. One of them threw a grenade at the Elementor, but was seemingly unfazed when it exploded. Just then, a second group of agents started blasting from the other side, bringing in a tank. But then, Elementor started spinning and morphed into a tornado, blowing almost everyone away as he and Frozen Killer escaped into the hallway. As they ran through the hallways, more agents attempted to stop them by blasting them. But Elementor swatted a few of them like flies while Frozen Killer sliced their blasters and knocked others down with his ice sword and kicks. As they continued their assault on the base, Frozen Killer nearly froze the whole base with an ice storm. Elementor smashed through the wall and escaped the base. Frozen Killer followed on an ice slide as Elementor flew away on a tornado.

Meanwhile, the team recovered from the duo's brutal attack. "Everyone okay?" Jefferson asked. "Yeah. I think so." Berto said. "I'm alright." Kat coughed. "Ugh…same here." Ieuan groaned. The team groaned as they stood up. "Could someone tell me what that thing was?" Alex asked. "I'm just gonna guess and say not one of the good guys." Steel said. "Something seemed familiar about that thing." Max said. "What do you think, Commander Forge?" Steel asked. But he couldn't find Commander Forge. "Commander Forge?" "Uncle Ferrus?" Max called. Everyone looked around, but didn't see Forge anywhere. "Where's our dad?!" Xena asked in a panic.

With Elementor and Frozen Killer, as they headed deeper into the canyon, Elementor revealed to be carrying an unconscious Forge in his bottom right hand.

Later, the Elementor and Frozen Killer arrived at Dread's secret lair and met up with him. "My, my. What a difference a day makes." Dread said, impressed with Elementor's new look. "There was…an accident." The Elementor said with all 4 voices. "I'll say. A 4 Ultralink pileup it would seem." Dread said as he inspected Elementor's new look. "So, the jailbreak was a success?" He asked. "Not entirely. We were unable to release the Ultralinks. But it did reap some rewards." Elementor explained as he threw Forge into a cell. "We thought he'd come in handy." "Forge Ferrus, my old friend, N-Tek's commandeering chief. Oh, yes! Yes, indeed! He'll come in quite handy. There's quite a bit of information in here. Very useful information." Dread explained. He opened a hatch in his siphoning device and released 3 little mechanical insects. "And I have ways of getting that information." He said as he set one of the insects by Forge's unconscious face.

Meanwhile, back at N-Tek, the team, Kat, Jefferson, Ieuan and Al had just figured out who that new Elementor was. "Wait. You're saying that thing was all 4 Elementors merged into one?" Rayne asked in surprise. "It's all here on the security feed." Jefferson said, sipping a juice box as Kat pulled up the security footage. "It was some sort of chain reaction when our Tachyon energy field encountered a stasis inhibitor that Cerulis and Frozen Killer snuck in." Kat explained. "No doubt supplied to them by Dread." Zad guessed. "And when the inhibitor activated within the energy field, the chain reaction must've caused the Elementors' Ultralinks to merge together into a single Elementor. An Ultimate Elementor." Max deduced. "Uh, we'll take your word for it, Max." Rayne said, not really understanding what everyone just said. "We need to act. But with Forge gone, first we need to figure out who's in charge." Jefferson said. "And how do we do that?" Alex asked. "Despite that I'm also a commander, but I mostly follow Forge's orders since he's always in charge of this place." Ieuan said. "Commander Forge has never been MIA, but I'm sure N-Tek has some sort of command structure." Berto said as he started going through N-Tek's data for anything on the chain of command. "Here we go." "Just say the word and I'll be ready, Berto." Jefferson said. "Right. If duty calls, I'm up to the task." Kat said. "So, who's in charge, bro?" Al asked. "According to this, the next agent in the official chain of command is the Chief Science Officer." Berto revealed. "You've got to be kidding!" Jefferson exclaimed. "No way!" Kat exclaimed. "Which would be me." Berto said in shock. "I guess Forge must've created this back when your dad had Berto's job, Max." Al said. "But even so, I cannot take that responsibility. So, Max, I hereby divert command to you." Berto said, giving Max command. "Right. Listen up, team, if we're gonna find Uncle Ferrus, first thing we need to do is find Ultimate Elementor and Frozen Killer." Max said. "But how? They didn't leave any tracks or clues to where they were going." Jefferson said. "Oh, yes, they did." Max said. "The weather!" Berto realized. "Exactly. Ultimate Elementor is made up of natural elements like wind and water." Max explained. "So, a common weather satellite should be able to track them." Steel added as he opened a map from a weather satellite. "It would show just a slight anomaly…there!" He pinpointed the anomaly made by Ultimate Elementor. "It's heading towards a mountain range northeast of here." Jefferson said. "Then so are we. Everyone, gear up and try to keep up!" Max ordered. He and his team flew out of N-Tek, heading towards the mountain range.

Meanwhile, back at Dread's hideout, after Forge finally recovered, he struggled in his binds as Dread's bugs were scanning him. "You're a tough old goat, Forge. Thanks for the info." Dread said, calling back one of his bugs. "Miles Dread!" Forge snarled. Dread walked over to his console and placed the bug on it, downloading the info it extracted from Forge. "Here are the first set of coordinates. We'll have the others soon enough." He said, giving the information to Ultimate Elementor. "We will see to it." Ultimate Elementor said before he walked away. Frozen Killer was about to follow, but Dread stopped him. "Not yet, Frozen Killer. The second set will be all yours." He said. Frozen Killer nodded, showing no emotions, and stood down. But unknown to them, Forge smashed one of the bugs between his head and the wall, caught it in his hands and proceeded to pick the lock on his binders.

Meanwhile, outside the hideout, Max and his team were almost to the mountain range. "That's the mountain range, right there." Max said. "Hold on, Max. It appears that Ultimate Elementor is moving away from them now." Steel said, detecting that Ultimate Elementor was moving away from the mountain range. "What do we do, Max?" Alex asked. "We turn around here. We have to find out what Ultimate Elementor is up to." Max said. The team turned around and followed Ultimate Elementor's trail.

Meanwhile, as Ultimate Elementor continued on his way, he started to think. "If the inhibitor caused us to fuse together, we must have all 4 elemental powers fused within our body." He said. He stopped in the middle of the canyon and concentrated his energy. And with enough patience and time, he morphed from Air Form to Fire From, then to Water Form, and finally Earth Form. "Yes! We still possess all 4 of our elemental powers! With all 4 of us combined as one, together, we are unstoppable!" He exclaimed as he continued practicing with his newfound abilities. Just then, Max and his team showed up. "There he is. Ultimate Elementor." Max said. "What's going on with him?" Zad asked. "It looks like he's…shifting forms." Xena said. "Of course. When the chain reaction caused all 4 Elementors to fuse together…" Steel started to say. "It also granted him a new Ultralink ability to morph between his 4 forms like we can." Max finished. The team was shocked as they watched Ultimate Elementor practice his new elemental moves. "I don't know, Max. You sure we can take this guy? I mean, it was hard enough dealing with the Elementors when they were separate." Rayne said, feeling unsure. "Rayne, we wouldn't be superheroes if we didn't challenge ourselves to deal with seemingly impossible odds." Max said. "Yeah, Max is right." Vandana said. "As per usual." Steel said. "We should give it a try." Alex said.

"Yes. Mastery of all 4 of our elemental powers will make us the most powerful being in the universe. And we think we know just how to prove it." Ultimate Elementor said before noticing the team in the air. "We've been spotted!" Alex cried. "Glad to see you're paying attention, Alex!" Wandella exclaimed with worry as Ultimate Elementor morphed back to Air Form and flew up to attack the team.

Ultimate Elementor tried to slash the team with his claws, but they dodged the attack. "What have you done with Forge Ferrus?!" Max demanded. "Nothing…compared to what we're about to do to you and your team, Max Steel. Now that we've merged together, our elemental powers hold no limits! You can call us…Vosmuatine!" Ultimate Elementor, now naming himself Vosmuatine, exclaimed as he struck the team with multiple fireballs, knocking them down to the ground. They groaned as they started to recover. "Well, that was rough." Zad said. Suddenly, the team became surrounded in a tornado. "And it's about to get even rougher!" He exclaimed. Just then, the team was shot up by an earth pillar and caught in the tornado. The team was then dropped into a river stream and thrown out by a jet of water. "You see, Max Steel, 4 elements are better than one." Vosmuatine said. But then, Max and his team recovered and flew towards Vosmuatine. "I gotta agree. Because now we get to pummel all of you with just one PUNCH!" Max exclaimed as he and the team knocked Vosmuatine down to the ground with a single team punch.

But as they landed back on the ground, Vosmuatine recovered from their attack. "Clever. But not clever enough. First, we captured Forge Ferrus, and now, the mighty Max Steel and his little team." Vosmuatine said. "Not today." Max said. As switched his Flight Mode back to Base Mode, Turbo Energy started forming around his left hand and created a bow. "Time for a new trick." Steel said. Max drew back the bow string and formed an arrow made of Turbo Energy, aiming directly at Vosmuatine. "What is that?!" Vosmuatine exclaimed in shock. "This is…Turbo Arrow!" Max exclaimed as he fired his Turbo Arrow. The Turbo Arrow struck Vosmuatine hard in the chest and sent him flying off into the distance. Max panted heavily as his Turbo Bow disappeared. "You okay, Max?" Vandana asked with concern for her cousin. "Yeah. Turbo Arrow takes a lot of Turbo Energy." Max said. "But we've managed for a while." Steel said. "Guys!" A voice called. The team turned to see Berto, C.Y.T.R.O. and Stephan fly in and land next to them. "Are you alright, everyone?" C.Y.T.R.O. asked. "We're fine, C.Y.T.R.O. Though we should've waited for backup." Max said. "I'm guessing you found Elementor." Berto guessed. "Yeah. That was the easy part." Rayne said. "Taking him on would've been a harder challenge if Max hadn't pulled off his new Turbo Move." Iden said. "But what of Commander Forge?" C.Y.T.R.O. asked "He wasn't with him." Max said. "Which means Vosmuatine must've taken him somewhere within the mountain range." Wandella said. Just then, a Jump Jet arrived and landed as Steel got a call from Kat. "Then we better figure out what our next move is and quick." She said.

Meanwhile, Vosmuatine recovered from Max's Turbo Arrow after he landed in a far section of the canyon. "Max Steel, that is the last time you ever catch us by surprise with your fancy Turbo Moves. But for now, we have work to do." He said, pulling up the coordinates Dread gave him.

Meanwhile, back at Dread's hideout, as Dread's bugs continued to scan Forge's mind, Forge secretly used the dead bug to pick his binders. "Well, well, well. Look who's up." Dread said as he, Naught and Frozen Killer walked up to Forge's cell. "Ready to resume our little conversation?" "I'd rather rip out your windpipe." Forge said darkly. Naught chuckled at that. "Oh, come now. That's no way to speak to an old colleague." Dread said. "Tell me something, Dread. When exactly did you become such a raving psychopath?" Forge asked as he proceeded to pick his binders. Naught snickered again. "What?" Dread growled, making Naught clear his throat before turning back to Forge. "You know, Forge, I have a great many reasons to hate you. But you know what I come to realize? I don't need any one reason. I hate you simply for what you are. A delusional self-righteous goodie-goodie!" Dread exclaimed. "So, that's why I never get a holiday card." Forge joked, making Naught snicker again. Frozen Killer silenced Naught by freezing his hand over his mouth. "Thank you, Frozen Killer." Dread said. "How could you treat this poor boy like he's some kind of weapon?" Forge asked in disgust at how Dread used Frozen Killer. That question actually made Frozen Killer raise his eyebrow with a hint of curiosity. "Because that's just what he is, a weapon with the power to freeze anything and anyone who gets in his way." Dread said. "He's an innocent child! ORCUS murdered his family, took him away and conducted unforgivable experiments on him, giving him his powers!" Forge exclaimed. Frozen Killer widened his eyes in shock, experiencing flashbacks of his past.

[Flashback]

Lorenzo watched with teary eyes as ORCUS agents slaughtered his entire family while being dragged away. He could even hear the cries of his sister.

[Flashback End]

Frozen Killer felt a tear escape his left eye before it froze and crumbled away. "Family is nothing to people like us. Family does nothing, but hold us back from our true potential. Much like how you and Jim McGrath allowed your wives to hold you back." Dread said. "I wouldn't count on that." Forge said as he finally broke free from his binders. "WHAT?!" Dread exclaimed in shock. Forge grabbed his energy knife and tossed it at the console, damaging it and deactivating the cell. Dread shouted in anger as he charged towards his enemy. But Forge managed to leap over Dread and kicked him into the cell before he grabbed his knife and reactivated the locks, trapping Dread inside. Naught tried to attack Forge, but he flipped him over his shoulder. But as Forge was about to run for the exit, Frozen Killer stood in his way, forming his ice sword in his right hand. "Guess I have no choice." Forge said, readying his knife. They charged towards each other and started clashing each other's blades. As they clashed, Frozen Killer struggled against Forge. "You know you don't have to be a weapon for someone like Dread. You had a life before and you can have it again." Forge said. Suddenly, Frozen Killer started to hesitate as he ceased his attacks. Forge saw his chance and ran towards the exit as a couple Dreadnaughts started shooting at him. "STOP HIM!" Dread ordered. Frozen Killer snapped out of his hesitation, turned around and fired multiple icicles from his hands. But Forge ducked down, making the icicles hit the Dreadnaughts. As they shut down, Forge picked up their blasters and used them to blow open his exit. "Awesome!" He exclaimed excitedly as he escaped.

Dread used his Negative Turbo Energy to blow open the cell and escape. "WELL?! What are you waiting for?! After him!" He ordered. Naught ran towards the exit. "I'm surrounded by nincompoops!" Dread groaned. Frozen Killer was about to follow Naught, but Dread stopped him by grabbing his shoulder. "Not you, Frozen Killer. You hesitated when he escaped. And I intend to find out why." Dread said.

Meanwhile, as the Jump Jet soared through the air, the team was going through what they know. "We need to canvas those mountains. Vosmuatine was there, so maybe Forge still is." Jefferson said. "But what about Vosmuatine? We can't just let him run amuck. We have to stop him." Kat said. "What do you think, Max?" Vandana asked. "I think we should split up. I'll take my team to track down Vosmuatine, you guys canvas the mountains to find Uncle Ferrus." Max said. "That's what you're thinking?" Jefferson asked in disbelief. "Forge never had to think." Kat said. "Well, he's not here right now!" Max snapped, startling the 2 top agents. "Look, I know you 2 are used to my uncle running the show around here. But right now, this is my call to make. So, I suggest that you 2 do what I say until we figure out what our next move is." The team was amazed by Max's form of authority. Just then, the Jump Jet picked up a security alert. "Well, we know what Vosmuatine's is. Check out the security feed." Jefferson said, pulling up a video of Vosmuatine attacking the Copper Canyon Dam. "That's Copper Canyon Dam." Berto said. "And he's tearing it apart." Jefferson added. "He's gonna flood the whole city!" Kat realized. But Max felt unsure, thinking that there had to be more to Vosmuatine's plan than to just destroy the dam and flood the city.

At the dam, civilians and traffic started clearing the area in a panic as Vosmuatine tore up the dam.

The team watched as Vosmuatine was wrecking the dam. "Kat, Jefferson, set a course for Copper Canyon Dam!" Max ordered. Kat and Jefferson set the course for the dam, but suddenly, a different ship appeared on the radar. "Incoming craft!" Jefferson exclaimed. The ship appeared into view. "It's one of Dread's." Kat said, recognizing the ship's model. "Take it down." Berto said. Jefferson focused his aim on the ship. "Almost got a lock. Almost… Got it!" He exclaimed, getting a lock on the ship. But before he could open fire, a familiar voice came over the com-links. "Jefferson! If you fire at me, it's going down on your permanent record!" The voice exclaimed. "Is that…?" Max started to ask. A video call opened on the windshield, revealing Forge in the ship's cockpit. "Forge?!" Everyone said in surprise and relief. "So, did you miss me?" Forge asked. "Daddy!" Xena cheered. "You're alright!" Kat cheered. "Good to see you, Commander." Jefferson said. "Yeah. It sure is." Max said. "Uh, guys, as much as I hate to cut the happy reunion short, but we've got company." Steel said, picking up more ships on the radar. "They must've followed me from Dread's compound. Taking into attack formation." Forge ordered. "Yes, sir!" Jefferson agreed.

"Uncle Ferrus, Ultimate Elementor, now known as Vosmuatine, he's at Copper Canyon Dam and he's ripping it to shreds." Max said. "You and your team head him off. Berto, go with them to back them up. And hurry!" Forge ordered. Berto saluted to his commander. "You heard him, team." Max said. The back of the Jump Jet opened, allowing the team to exit on their motorcycles. C.Y.T.R.O. and Stephan followed close behind while flying. As the team headed off towards the dam, Dread's ships took attack formation. "Time to take it to these N-Tek dolts!" Naught exclaimed as he piloted the lead ship. Forge, Jefferson and Kat led the attack on Dread's ships, shooting them down and destroying them.

Meanwhile, Vosmuatine climbed higher on the dam as Max and his team arrived. But then, a group of people, who apparently didn't hear any of the commotion earlier, were setting up a concert stage at the top of the hill next to the dam. But then, as Vosmuatine started attacking the dam again, the people noticed him and started screaming and running. "Max, we got civilians at the top of the dam." Rayne said, noticing the stage at the top. "What're all those people doing up there?" Alex asked. "You guys remember that outdoor Cole Plante show Berto and I told you about?" Max asked. "Yeah. What about it?" Yeager asked. "This is where it was gonna be held." Berto said. "WHAT?! ON A DAM?! WHERE A GIANT ELEMENTAL MONSTER IS TEARING IT UP?!" Vandana exclaimed in shock. "Hey, you can't beat la vista." Berto said. "He's got a point." Max said as they started to speed up.

As Vosmuatine continued smashing the dam, he broke a chunk off, revealing a device made from what appeared to be N-Tek technology. Max and his team rode off a big ramp, leapt over to the dam and rode their motorcycles up the dam. "Whoa! I didn't know our bikes could do this!" Alex exclaimed in amazement. "How about a lift, Vossy?" Max said as they rode up to Vosmuatine and bashed into him, knocking him off the dam. As the team reached the top, they landed on top of the dam. "So…did we get him?" Yeager asked as they dismounted their motorcycles. Suddenly, Vosmuatine flew right up. "Look who's back!" He exclaimed as he threw a giant boulder. "Guess not!" Yeager cried as the team leapt out of the way. Vosmuatine morphed into Fire Form and roared at the team, but then C.Y.T.R.O. started blasting him. "And this time, we shall prevail." C.Y.T.R.O. said as he continued blasting. Vosmuatine morphed to Earth Form, tore off a piece of the road with his geokinesis and threw it at C.Y.T.R.O. But C.Y.T.R.O. bashed through it and continued his assault. The team charged towards Vosmuatine as he switched back to Fire Form. "C.Y.T.R.O., throw me my Turbo Sword!" Max called. "Affirmative. One Turbo Sword, extra sharp, coming up." C.Y.T.R.O. said, tossing Max's Turbo Sword. Steel linked up with it before Max caught it. "Let's do this, team!" Max called. Vosmuatine blew a fireball from his mouth, but Vandana blocked it with her mana shield. Max leapt over the shield and slashed Vosmuatine's Ultralink cores with the Turbo Sword, causing him great pain. "Our turn!" Yeager exclaimed as he and Zad attacked with their mana weapons, knocking Vosmuatine off the dam. But he latched his claws into the dam, stopping himself from falling. The team leapt down to continue their attack, but Vosmuatine continued to fight back.

Meanwhile, Forge, Jefferson and Kat continued their air battle with Dread's forces. "There's too many of them!" Jefferson exclaimed. Suddenly, another ship appeared and attacked Forge. "Too many plus 1!" Forge exclaimed. "There's no escaping me, Forge!" Dread exclaimed, revealing himself to be the ship's pilot.

Meanwhile, back at the dam, the team continued their fight with Vosmuatine, dodging his element attacks as they charged towards him. "La Fiera, knock him off the dam!" Max called. "Ramming speed!" Alex exclaimed as a red rhino image appeared and disappeared into his body. He leapt up and bashed into Vosmuatine, knocking him off the dam. As Vosmuatine crashed on the bottom, the team leapt down after him. They landed near Vosmuatine as he started to recover. "Guys, I think we might actually be winning." Rayne said. "Fools! The tide of battle can change as quick…as the weather!" Vosmuatine exclaimed as dark clouds suddenly shrouded the sky. The team looked on in shock at what Vosmuatine was doing as Steel de-linked from the Turbo Sword and linked back up with Max. "Don't you see? We have all the forces of nature at our command!" Vosmuatine declared as lighting began to light up the dark skies. "Uh…did anyone know Vosmuatine could do this?" Rayne asked with worry. Everyone shook their heads. "Me neither." Rayne said.

Meanwhile, back at the air battle, the Jump Jet was hit by something. "We're hit!" Jefferson exclaimed. "By who?" Kat asked. "By me." Forge said through the com-links. "What?!" Jefferson and Kat said in shock. "I was aiming for Dread. But all his aircraft must be synced to the same auto-targeting interface. My missiles went after you." Forge explained. "Well, switch it, would you?!" Jefferson exclaimed in annoyance. "Not a bad idea." Forge said as he reset the ship's targeting system.

Meanwhile, back at the dam, Vosmuatine attacked the team with lightning bolts, knocking them all down with a single blast. As they started to recover, Vosmuatine hit them again. "And I thought lightning never strikes in the same place twice." Iden groaned. As Vosmuatine charged right for them, the team quickly leapt down to the dam's dock. "Berto, remember what you said about our weakness being speed?" Max asked. But before Berto could answer, the team got struck again by Vosmuatine's lightning attack. "Yeah. I guess you had a point, babe." Vandana groaned. "A point I wish I could've taken back before this happened." Berto groaned. "Indeed. But which is why Max and I have been trying to correct the problem." Steel said. "Go Turbo Flight!" Max called, morphing to Flight Mode and taking off into the sky with the team following. "You did?" Xena asked. "Well, we didn't exactly give it a field test yet." Max said. But then, they got struck again and knocked out of the sky. "But I guess anything's better than this." Max said. Vosmuatine started climbing back up the dam. "So, what's the plan, cous?" Zad asked as Vosmuatine reached them at the top. "The plan is for me and Steel to pick up the pace with our brand-new mode." Max said. "We call it Speed Mode." Steel said. "I hope you 2 know what you're doing." Berto said. Vosmuatine prepared to attack. "I hope so too." Max said. "Me too." Steel said. "Go Turbo Speed!" They shouted simultaneously as they morphed into their new mode. The suit resembled that of a full-body suited speedster. "Huh. I like the outfit." Yeager said. Just then, as Vosmuatine attacked with another lightning bolt, Max ran at super speed between his legs, dodging the lightning. "And I love the moves!" Rayne cheered. Vosmuatine fired another, but Max used his new speed to dodge again. Vosmuatine continued to fire his lightning attacks, but Max continued to dodge with his speed, moving around the dam. But the lightning bolts started causing the dam to crack apart with water bursting through. "Look at Max go! He's faster than the speed of lightning!" Berto said with excitement. "Yeah, but the dam isn't! It's about to bust!" Yeager exclaimed, seeing that the dam was bursting.

Suddenly, Max's eyes went pure white again as he gave a loud yell. "Max?!" Steel asked in shock. "Now you just hold still!" Vosmuatine exclaimed as he leapt down the dam to attack. But Max gave an angry shout as he fired a combination blast of fire, earth, air and water at Vosmuatine's chest, sending him flying off into the distance, again. The team was in shock and awe. "Whoa. Elemental Max strikes again." Wandella said. "Again?" Iden asked in confusion. "Yeah. He did this once before you joined the team." Zad said. "He used it against the Water Elementor, Typhis. He used geokinesis to throw limestone and clay at his body, freezing him in cement." Alex explained.

Meanwhile, back in the air battle, several Dreadnaughts fired missiles at the Jump Jet. "We got a dozen missiles on our tail. They're closing in fast." Kat said with worry. "We're finished, Commander." Jefferson said. "No, you're not." Forge said through the com-links as he and Dread flew by. With the push of a button, the missiles suddenly redirected their auto-targeting on Dread. "What?" Dread said in confusion as the missiles chased him. "What did you do?" Jefferson asked in surprise and shock. "I switched the auto-targeting interface from you…to Dread." Forge said. "NO!" Dread exclaimed as the missiles were right on his tail. "Which means since we're not in the crosshairs anymore…" Jefferson started to say. "Let's take out the trash." Kat said. They fired their rockets and shot down Naught's ship. Naught parachuted to safety, raising a threatening fist at them as they took out the remaining ships.

Meanwhile, back at the dam, Max just stared at the cracks in the dam. "I hope you've got some sort of plan to plug those cracks before the dam bursts." Steel said. Max just motioned his hands and created a jet of water, surrounded in a cold wind. As the water struck the cracks, the wind froze the water into ice, sealing the cracks. "He's using cold air to freeze the water." Xena said. As Max froze the last crack, N-Tek had finally arrived at the dam. "Nice work, Max. Vosmuatine may have gotten away, but we stopped his plans to flood Copper Canyon." Berto said. But Max turned and spotted the device Vosmuatine exposed in the ensuing attack. He managed to take a picture of it with his visor before he fell unconscious. "MAX!" Steel cried. "Oh, not again." Vandana said as she and the team hopped down to the bottom. "How is he?" Zad asked with worry. "He's unconscious again, but he's okay." Steel said. "Has this happened before?" Iden asked. "Yeah, back in Typhis' cave. We think it's a minor side effect or something." Xena said.

"Well done, everyone." Forge said, surprising the team. "Daddy!" Vandana cried as she and her siblings hugged their father with relief. Jefferson and Kat ran up and cheered with congratulations to the team. "Wait, what happened to Max?" Forge asked when he saw his nephew unconscious. "He did that element thing again to freeze the cracks in the dam and fell unconscious again." Yeager said. "Well, that's a relief." Jefferson said. Just then, music from the concert started to beat up. Cole Plante was kicking it up now that the chaos was all over. "What's that old saying? The show must go on? Works for me." He said. Just then, the team, Jefferson and Kat witnessed a disturbing sight. Forge started 'dancing' to the music. "Oh, gross." Wandella muttered. "YEAH!" Forge cheered. But then he noticed the disturbed look on everyone's faces before clearing his throat. "Catchy. Well, you know, if you like that kind of thing." He said before walking away. "So glad Max was unconscious for that." Vandana said. Everyone started laughing at that. Except for Steel. He looked back at the device, noticing N-Tek's mark on it.

Later, as everyone returned to N-Tek, Max groaned as he recovered and woke up in the medical bay, seeing everyone watching over him. "Well, hello there, Maxie." Yeager said. "Good to see that you're awake, son." Forge said. "What happened?" Max asked. "You did that element thing again after you acquired your new Speed Mode, man." Berto said. "You used it to blast Vosmuatine away from the dam before freezing the cracks on it." Steel said. "Wow. Guess I missed a lot again." Max said. "But I guess all's well that ends well, right?" Jefferson asked as he ate a sandwich. "Only trouble is…this isn't the end." Forge said. Everyone turned to look at him in confusion. "Dread's still out there. And so is Vosmuatine. We got lucky this time, but there will be a next time and we need to be ready. I want a full intel debriefing first thing tomorrow morning." Forge explained before leaving. "Commander Forge is back. But I'm gonna be honest. I actually enjoyed having Max as Commander." Kat said. "Yeah, Max. You really slayed it as Commander." Jefferson agreed. "Thanks, guys. Hopefully, I can do it again someday." Max said. Kat and Jefferson nodded as they left the medical bay.

"Max, I saved that photo you took before you fell unconscious." Steel said, showing the photo. "Yeah, I remember seeing that before I fell unconscious." Max said. "What is that thing?" Rayne asked. "It's some kind of transmitter. And I think that's what Vosmuatine was really after. He attacked the dam, not to flood Copper Canyon, but to retrieve this device." Max explained. "Berto, did you know about this?" Vandana asked. "No, I've never seen that thing before." Berto said. "Well then, I guess we're gonna keep sneaking around for more pieces to our Makino puzzle, right?" Alex asked. "Not necessarily. I think we finally have all the pieces we need. And we'll start with that Ultralink I swiped." Max said. The team nodded in agreement. "Max, whatever you've got planned, I want in." Berto said. "Are you sure, Berto? It's gonna be dangerous sneaking around our father's back." Zad said. "I know. But whatever he's trying to hide about this Makino guy, I wanna be there to help when I can." Berto said. "Good. Because we've got a lot of work to do." Max said.

Meanwhile, back at the dam, as night had fallen, the 4 ninjas who saved the team from Ferno and Granius stood on the edge of the canyon, having witnessed the team's fight with Vosmuatine and what Max did. The blue ninja activated an earpiece com-link and contacted someone. "Yes, Master. He has definitely gotten stronger. It will soon be time." She said before disappearing with her friends.

Oh, man! Wasn't that crazy?! The new Ultimate Elementor, now named Vosmuatine, and Frozen Killer, broke out of N-Tek and kidnapped Forge, bringing him to Dread. Assuming command, Max leads his team and chases Vosmuatine out to the Copper Canyon Dam. As Vosmuatine tore up the dam, they unveiled a transmitter bearing the N-Tek symbol. After Max defeated Vosmuatine and sealed the cracks in the dam using his elemental powers, he passed out and woke up in the medical bay. But now, with the discovery of the transmitter, and Berto officially joining the team, Max and the team get ready to take the next step in finding out more about Makino and N-Tek's true mission.
