Four. Years. That's how long it uad taken to remember thst this cringe-infested monstrosity exists.

Don't get me wrong– much fondness is held wuthun me over my pet angst project from when I was, like, 11-12 bit still.

The grammer (or lack thereof) in tjis makes me Sincerely Apologize. Seriously.

Either way, althitht it's akways bren implied, now I am explicitly stating that this work is on INDEFINITE HIATUS .

I'm only posting this chapter now bc I noticed whike re-reading that the coding was corrupted, so here ya go!

Perhaps one day I'll rewrite and finish this whole thing, but for now I suggest not holding your breath.

P.S. This chapter is UNREVISED amd UNEDITED. I reinstate my previous apology.

To fully understand the extent of the tragedy of what is known as the demented Afton family, you have to start at the beginning.

With the first son. Terrence. A.K.A Micheal's beloved big brother, whom he'd never met, as well as his namesake. Yes, Micheal was renamed after his deceased brother, Terrence Micheal Afton.

Micheal hated it. It made him feel like he was expected to live up to the perfect son that Terrence didn't get to turn out to be.

It was simply too much pressure, and he detested his name because of it. No, he preferred to be addressed by Micheal, his middle name, thank you very much. (Though, he'd be lying if he said that he didn't start telling people to call him that after first grade when his friend called him Micheal and he saw the revolution on his father's face.)

As a child, Micheal was head-strong and strong-willed. He wasn't 'bad', per se- though he wasn't exactly 'good'. He was always one to go for what he wanted couldn't care less of the opinions that the others around him held of him.

They didn't like him? So what? He didn't need them too. Though he was charismatic enough to hold the liking of the majority around him.

Micheal's parents were loving, though mother did her best to cope with the lost of her son, and father was always working.

Things were tolerable for the first four years of Micheal's life, until, that is, when Christopher came around.

Christopher, named after nobody whom he was expected to emulate the wishes of, and who was doted on relentlessly by both parents, unlike Micheal, who only had his mother and oftentimes father- who wasn't home nearly as much as he was then.

Back then, Micheal and his young mind assumed that the reason was because his father didn't love him as much, though he now 'understood' that after the birth of his technically third child, he needed to be home more often.

Micheal, though, grew more and more distant over time. Especially after the birth of his little sister, the joy of the family- basically the anti-Micheal in every way possible.

Yes, he was still loved. Yes, his father love him dearly. And, yes, he loved his family- of course he did.

Though, Micheal often felt... Detached. Different from the rest of them. Like he was an outsider in his own family.

Micheal found consolance and support in his father's best friend, Uncle Henry, whom he relied on more and more over the years- almost as a second father.

Which, unbeknownst to our little young Micheal, fostered guilt in William over the years. Wouldn't you have felt displeased?

If your own son was so distant from your family, yet he sought affection in your best friend?

Though, William knew not to force anything upon Micheal. If Micheal wanted to spend more time with Henry- he could have all the time he wanted. That was what he wanted- right?

Ironically, unbeknownst to William- that wasn't what Micheal wanted at all.

More than anything, Micheal wanted a connection with his father. A connection that William felt was traded away, and Micheal felt was neglected.

Some may argue that this simple miscommunication between father and son sparked the first flame in the devistating fire that consumed the family, though that wasn't all that was going on.

No, there was also the conflict between the siblings.

Micheal and Christopher were never the best of friends, always arguing and finding ways to torment the other, Micheal always winning that war. And Elizabeth, who's parents were always involved with the boys and who's parents gave her all that she wanted in order to make up for not paying as much attention to her.

Then leading to the boys opinion of her being spoiled. What a cycle it was, yes? All feeding off of each other, all harming the other without realizing it. Again feeding the claim that the miscommunication was what tore the apart.

Though that was also just a beginning factor.

The true reason why the Afton family went down in flames was their spite. Every human has it within them- a monster just waiting to be let loose.

All it takes is a little nudge for the whole domino affect to take place. Just a little push that sends someone to break.

And when push comes to shove...

Everything in the domino's path, will be knocked down.

Though the question is- what will become of it?
