The 1st new life after making her deal!

Kagome blinked her eyes as she looked out over a large hall. It was filled with four distinctive rows of picnic trestle tables. Above each row was a tabard in familiar colors and designs. And all the eyes of those sitting at the tables were turned to look at her.

"Oh, you are a strange one. You have traits of all houses. But yet, there is no trace of true magic in you. What to do!?"

The voice was sing-song, and Kagome instantly knew where she was. Giving a rather loud mental groan that had the voice laughing.

"Miss, your mental shields are great. Thus I am unable to sort you properly. Even though you possess a slew of traits for all the houses."

Kagome felt her lips pull into a smile. This was now her second life. She had made her choice, been sent to the end and beginning of time (and all worlds/universes). So now she was in one of her favorite book series, literally. Though Kagome was sure, it wasn't during or after either of Voldemort's wars. Inspiring Kagome to be impish.

"You are the sorting hat. You are a magical item. So in all reality, you shouldn't be able to have this conversation with me. A sentient magical item is taboo," Kagome mentally chirped at the sorting hat. "Merlin's law and all. So, let's make a deal. I say nothing, and you put me in the house of my choice."

All those gathered in the Great Hall of Hogwarts stared in shock in the continued silence. Never before had the sorting hat taken so long. And its creator was beginning to think it had begun to wonder if it was malfunctioning.

"Deal!" The sorting hat replied harshly. "This girl is to be a Slytherin!"

4 yrs later

Kagome hummed to herself as she manipulated the flow of her Horiki. It had been difficult for the first year for her as she had no magic and couldn't cast any of the spells. However, she excelled in all the other classes. Making it hard to kick her from the school.

After a vicious prank involving a magical creature, Kagome had accessed the Shikon no Tama, releasing the constraints been unaware of. The resulting explosion was a mix of Kagome's Horiki, and magic had quite the fuss. Her "magic" was Holy in nature, so it had led to the "main four," as Kagome secretly called the founding wizards of Hogwarts investigating her origins. Being scared had unlocked the memories created for this particular world. All of it Information Kagome could have used upon waking up here.

"Miss Higurashi!"

Blinking slowly, Kagome looked at the teacher for the Dark Arts Class, Salazar Slytherin himself. She had come to both adore and loath this man. He persisted in annoying her due to her magical explosion and his curious nature to study anything that fascinated him.

"Cast the Patronus Spell," Salazar demanded. His silver-gray eyes were glinting sharply at her.

Lifting her wand, Kagome took the correct stance and waved it as they'd been shown. Her lips barely moved as she spoke, "Expecto Patronum."

The tip of her wand glowed a mix of silver and lilac then went dark. Kagome furrowed her brow in confusion. There had been no mistake in casting. So why didn't her Patronus appear?

"Miss Higurashi, what did you summon!?" Salazar hissed at her.

Again Kagome blinked as she stared in confusion at her professor. When he lifted his hand and pointed behind her, Kagome turned her head to look over her shoulder. The air in her lungs seemed to freeze as she saw her Patronus sitting behind her.

"What is that?" one of her classmates asked.

A giggle escaped her lips as Kagome spun and lifted her hand to touch her "Giant" Patronus, causing it to vanish.

"A Kitsune with nine tails," Kagome said as her vision blurred with a sudden onslaught of tears. "They are mythical, magical creatures in my father's country."

"And they are known as tricksters, land deities, and divine messengers," the deep voice of Salazar Slytherin cut through the silence that followed Kagome's brief explanation. "Miss Higurashi, stay; everyone else's class is dismissed."

Kagome frowned as she stared through narrowed eyes at her professor, head of the house, and amazing all-around asshole wizard. She knew this day would come. Especially after the magic explosion, followed by the summoning of a familiar at the end of her first year. It was standard that first years (at the end of the year) had to summon their own familiar (since they had yet to become a commodity to be sold to budding new witches and wizards). And, of course, Kagome had done the spell and summoned a large White Inu with amber eyes. It wasn't Sesshomaru, but that's what she named...her! Since Kagome could recall when the Lord of the West acted like a bitch on several occasions.

"Miss Higurashi, you've continued to cause ripples wherever you go. Your mind is so heavily shielded in a way that no young witch or wizard should be able to do," Salazar snapped at her. "And using half of your bloodline doesn't cut it with me. I looked into you and know both your parents are muggle born. So you're a rare magical amongst them. You, Miss Higurashi, need to tell me the truth, or I'll have to seal your magic and expel you for the safety of the school."

Kagome arched both her eyebrows at his declaration. As she read Salazar's aura, Kagome knew he spoke the truth. Her mind shifted gears, glad he asked this instead of the other three. Especially Godric, that man irritated her. Taking a deep breath, Kagome met Salazar's silver-gray eyes and smiled.

"Okay," Kagome said, feeling her lips twist into a smirk. "On one condition. Because what I will tell you will change many things you perceive."

The way his aura jumped wildly, Kagome knew she intrigued him further.

"What's your condition, Miss Higurashi?" Salazar asked.

Feeling her face practically split in two as her smirk morphed further, Kagome gave her reply, "Sleep with me."

6th Year

Kagome was doing her best not to roll her eyes as Godrix accused Salazar of doing unethical magical experiments to formulate new magic spells. This was something she had expected. Her Knowledge of this world and the founders had been there.

Then again, Salazar's mind had been shaken for days after she had dropped her mental barriers and shared all the Knowledge she had accumulated in her first life. Kagome had been very pleased with him as a lover. He was attentive, creative, and very dominant. Even now, thinking of it, Kagome is pressing her thighs together.

"See Rowena, Helga, he isn't denying he's been doing experiments with students," Godric yelled.

A mental snort echoed in the back of Kagome's head. She giggled back through the bond link that had formed during sex and shared her memories. She belonged to Salazar and Salazar alone.

"Salazar, please tell us you weren't doing this by force," Helga asked.

"No," Salazar replied in a terse tone of voice. "In fact, each student was asked if they'd like to participate. Then I gave them a magical contract to read and sign for privacy reasons. The students are unharmed, safe, and mentally sound. Here is a copy for you all to look over. Also, any royalties made from the magic studied is split between paying them for their services."

Kagome pressed her lips into a thin line. She wanted to laugh hysterically at the shock on the other three's faces. Especially Godric, who looked like he had eaten a particularly sour lemon. But all Kagome could feel was pride in Salazar for how he used her Knowledge of her first life and the future. He loved the acronyms C.Y.A. (Cover Your Ass) and K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stupid). Applying rather effectively, especially to benefit himself.

"Now, if you are done harassing me and wasting my time," Salazar growled. "The Wizengamot has summoned Kagome and me about one of our new magic theorems."

The dumb-founded expressions of Godric, Rowena, and Helga were too much. Kagome burst out laughing as the familiar pull from apparating enveloped her body.

Final Days/Last Moments

Kagome gave a world-weary sigh as she let her head rest against her husband's arm. The scene before them was heart-wrenching. Their family, friends, and various associates were gathered. Tears were being said, soft cries and mutters floated in the air.

It had been close to five hundred years since she had first appeared in this world. She had upended a lot of what made this word in the future a dark and chaotic mess. At the same time, providing a new way to look at things. Salazar had made his own views of muggle-borns clear. H had married him after she graduated her seventh year. The annuals were very clear about his 'muggleborn' wife.

So, he was no longer an option for a few wars that were slated to happen. Then there was their family. Kagome felt blessed, having had twelve kids, thirty-nine grandkids, and ninety-seven great-grandkids with another on the way. Each was raised with love, care, understanding, and a firm hand. Though, like her own mother, Kagome instilled the confidence to achieve whatever goals they set for themselves.

"You ready to step through the veil, my love?"

Lifting her head, Kagome smiled at the sparkle in his silver-gray eyes of her spouse. Due to the bond, neither of them looked older than their mid-thirties. A thing many were jealous about and agitated the Wizengot. With a small nod of her head, Kagome looked at everyone gathered. The feelings in her heart swelled at seeing their aurae. A few holding the same glow as her own Horiki.

"Yes, Zar, let us go," Kagome whispered. "And if I get tossed in this world again, I'll look for you if I know you're alive."

The small thin smile said he was pleased. His arm wrapped around her waist, and before she could react, Kagome felt her body being picked up. She growled half-heartedly as those gathered laughed at the familiar display of affection. Then she was carried through the gate. Her soul surged surrounding them. On instinct, Kagome closed her eyes, her body feeling heavy. When she opened them, Kagome saw the small space the gods had given her. Unable to stop herself, Kagome sank to her knees on the floor and cried.

After a time, Kagome stood, eyes swollen, and took a deep breath. Her chest still felt heavy, and her heart hurt. But Kagome had never been one to dwell. Yet, she didn't want to forget the life she had just lived. Letting her eyes dart around the small room, Kagome had been told she could do whatever her heart wanted in the space.

It was done by sheer willpower. So, Kagome did just that. She figured simple was best for living. Now her mind conjured up a door that would lead to a self-expanding room. Kagome kept the furnishing simple as well. Lining the two side walls with shelves and small pillows. At the back was a small stand, almost altar-like, holding a pensive filled with purified water and her wand.

The sensation of pressure all around lasted only a few minutes. Once it lifted, Kagome smiled as the door opened at the wave of her hand. Slowly, Kagome got up and walked into the new room and to the pensieve. Kagome lifted her wand with great care and placed the tip to her temple. Feeling the magic surge forth, Kagome carefully pulled her wand away, enjoying the silver glow of her memories. The water's surface clouded over, showing scenes of her past life.

Kagome exerted her will and Horiki, causing the water to clear. At the bottom of the pensieve, Kagome saw a small pearl. Its lilac and silver color reminded her of the Shikon no Tama that had become one with her. The way her thoughts shifted had Kagome feeling conflicted as she thrust her hand into the water and grasped the pearl.

Once she had it, Kagome lifted it out and placed it on one of the pillows on the shelves. It was a small placard with the message stating it was her first isekai life, what world she had lived in, and how long. It was a simple memorial, perfect in her eyes.
