Ah, another beautiful morning in Tokyo where you hear the motorbikes outside and the birds. let`s check in with our main guy Ishigami. Things can`t be too bad living with a roommate, it should be going smoothly right?

"Ishigami! You left the trash out again?! I thought I told you to take it out yesterday" said Miko as they were scrambling to get ready to not be late for their classes. "I thought it was your turn," said Ishigami as he quickly finished his breakfast. "Maybe you should look at the schedule next time, you nimrod," Miko said back. "Who are you calling a nimrod?!" Ishigami said back as the two bickered as it seemed to be their daily routine.

On second thought maybe not...

"Ishigami, give me a ride to college," said Miko as she put her shoes on. "What am I? Your private chauffeur?" Ishigami asked as he grabbed his bag. "Well, do you wanna be late to class or not?" Miko asked. "Fine, considering I don`t have another choice," said Ishigami as he reluctantly went to get his bike keys. "Let`s move it, I don`t want to be late," said Miko. "God, she`s so naggy," Ishigami thought as he revved his bike up before they rode off.

"You know you could be a bit more careful when driving right?" said Miko as they entered the campus. "Hey, do you have to criticize everything? You said that you were in a rush anyways" said Ishigami. "Well you`re not the most careful driver," said Miko. "You know if you want to complain about that, you can just take the train yourself," said Ishigami. "Maybe I will," said Miko as she walked away to her class. "I swear some things never change," Ishigami thought as he walked into the classroom.

"Oh hey Ishigami," said Suzu as Ishigami took his seat. "Oh good morning," said Ishigami as he put his bag down. "Everything okay?" Suzu asked as she noticed Ishigami had a slightly annoyed expression. "Yeah, I just had a rowdy morning," said Ishigami. "What happened? Overslept?" Hiroshi asked as he sat next to Ishigami. "Something like that, for once I actually want to pay attention to the lecture" Ishigami replied as the professor walked into the hall as class was starting.

Afterward

"So how`s the roommate situation going?" Hiroshi asked Ishigami as they walked out of the lecture hall. "About as good as putting a cat and a dog in the same room," said Ishigami. "I see, you`ve been roommates for half a month now, things should get better over time," said Suzu. "Trust me if you saw how we were in middle school you`d understand me," said Ishigami. "Oh, Akane says she`s with the others at the cafeteria, let`s grab some lunch," said Suzu as she checked her phone.

"So how are your professors so far?" Makoto asked as the group was having lunch together. "It`s been okay so far, although the English professor makes me want to take a nap," said Akane. "What about you Ishigami?" Hiroshi asked. "It`s been okay, I`ve kinda gotten used to the college environment even if there are more normies around" Ishigami replied to which everyone laughed.

"Are Miko and Kobachi joining us?" Akane asked. "Oh, they said they had something to take care of in the library so they won`t be joining us," Suzu replied. "Figures," Ishigami thought as his phone chimed. "Oh, a text wonder who`s it from," said Ishigami as he checked his phone.

Ishigami, pick up some supplies from the market or there`s no dinner for you, here`s the list.- Miko

"Of course, she`s only nice when she needs me to do something, and boy that`s a long list," said Ishigami as it seemed that the only time Miko wasn`t being cold was asking him to buy things from the market.

Later in the evening

"Wonder what`s for dinner, it`s Miko`s turn to be in charge of dinner tonight, I got her some good ingredients from the market," Ishigami thought while checking something on his phone. "Miko, what`s for dinner, it`s your turn today," said Ishigami as he knocked on the door to which there was no answer. "Guess she`s busy with her studies," Ishigami thought as he was about to walk away to which he heard a thumping noise in Miko`s room. "What was that? Better see what`s happening" said Ishigami as he opened the door to Miko`s room.

"What?" said Miko as Ishigami opened the door to her room. "Oh, sorry I didn`t know you were changing," said Ishigami as he turned red as Miko was changing. "Get out, you creep," said Miko as she tossed the nearest object at Ishigami. "This my friends is why you don`t room with your enemies," said Ishigami as he ran for cover.

Ah, entering the room while the girl is changing, the oldest cliche huh?

"How long are you going to be upset for?" I said I was sorry" said Ishigami as Miko was still giving Ishigami the cold shoulder as they were having dinner. "Well sorry isn`t going to cut it, you`ve tainted my innocence, take responsibility for it," said Miko as she took a bite of her food. "Well you could have locked the door if you were really doing something, I thought something was happening," said Ishigami to which Miko got up.

"I`m going to my room, don`t bother me and I mean it this time," said Miko as she went to her room and closed the door. "Whatever, at least I can play video games in peace and quiet tonight," Ishigami thought as he washed his dishes as it seemed that the conflict between the two seemed to be a never-ending one.

1 a.m.

"At least I start with an afternoon class so I`ll have the place to myself for a bit," Ishigami thought as he was still playing Apex Legends late into the night. "Who`s calling me now?" Ishigami thought as he checked his phone. "Oh crap, it`s Mom" Ishigami thought as he quickly turned the volume down on the tv and answered the call. "Hello? Mom? What are you doing calling so late?" Ishigami asked. "Just making sure you weren`t playing video games all night since you`re living alone," said Mrs. Ishigami. "Don`t worry I`m not" said Ishigami as he tried to cover his tracks.

"How are things going between you and Miko?" Mrs. Ishigami asked. "To be honest, like a new middle-aged couple living together" Ishigami replied to which Mrs. Ishigami chuckled. "This reminds me so much of when me and your father moved in together," said Mrs. Ishigami. "I guess it makes sense since you two have such opposite personalities, don`t know how you two made it through," said Ishigami. "Give it time, things will smooth out eventually," said Mrs. Ishigami. "I`ll try, but it seems that my patience is running out" Ishigami replied.

"Well, you survived with her for three years, a little change shouldn`t be too difficult," said Mrs. Ishigami. "Well sharing an apartment together with your enemy isn`t exactly a small change" Ishigami replied. "Well maybe you need to change, you have been pretty sloppy back when you were living with us, even if Chika is out of the picture, you still need to grow as a person," said Mrs. Ishigami. "All right, I`ll take you up on that then, gotta go to bed," said Ishigami. "Take care my son, make sure you focus on your studies," said Mrs. Ishigami. "Okay, see you soon," said Ishigami as he ended the call. "Guess I better get to bed," Ishigami thought as he yawned before turning the tv off and heading to his room.

The Next Day

"Ishigami! What did I tell you about leaving your gaming system out on the floor, I almost tripped on it this morning!" said Miko as she was lecturing Ishigami again. "Yeah, my bad, I slept late last night," said Ishigami as he was eating breakfast. "That`s because you were playing that stupid video game, why are you so casual when leaving your stuff around?" said Miko to which Ishigami sighed. "Alright, now`s not the time, don`t you have a morning class soon anyways?" Ishigami asked. "You`re lucky I`m in a rush, I`ll lecture you another time," said Miko as she quickly grabbed her bag and left. "Finally, some peace and quiet, soap operas got nothing on us," Ishigami thought as he cleaned up the table.

Later

"What happened to you, you look like you`ve seen a ghost," said Kobachi while chatting with Miko in the hallway. "I`m not thrilled with being roommates with Ishigami," said Miko as she and Kobachi sat at a cafeteria table having lunch. "What makes you say that? Not that I`m surprised" Kobachi asked. "Yesterday, he walked into me when I was changing, not to mention that I almost tripped this morning because he left his stupid gaming system out. Can you believe him? He has no tact at all" said Miko.

"Well maybe lock the door next time, if he knocked then that`s not his fault, the video games, you of all people should know that he isn`t going to stop playing video games," said Kobachi as she took a sip of her drink. "Why are all guys like this?" said Miko to which Kobachi sighed.

"Well, you could be a bit nicer to Ishigami, he is giving you a ride to college almost every day without asking for anything back in return, I wouldn`t be too thrilled if someone kept asking me to give them a ride and treated them like crap, you won`t get a guy with that attitude," said Kobachi. "How did things change from Ishigami to me finding a guy?" Miko asked seeming confused.

"Well this conflict does sum up your experience with other males, that explains why you don`t have a boyfriend," said Kobachi to which Miko turned red. "Koba-chan!" said Miko. "I`m just telling you the truth, if you keep this up, Ishigami might get more annoyed with you and you two might drift apart," said Kobachi. "Maybe you`re right, I wouldn`t be too happy if things were reversed," said Miko.

"I think you should at least apologize first," said Kobachi. "How should I do that? Should I just buy him something he likes?" Miko asked. "Beats me, I`m not the one in your shoes, just be nicer and more understanding with him," said Kobachi. "Why do guys have to be so complicated," Miko thought as she plopped her head on the table unsure how to resolve the issue. "And this is why I stayed single," Kobachi thought as she took a sip of her drink upon listening to Miko`s plight.

Meanwhile

"Man being roommates with Miko is going as well as putting gasoline into a fire, I know it`s only been a week, but still," Ishigami thought as he walked out of the lecture hall following his class. "Hey Ishigami," said Rei as she walked up to him. "Oh hey Rei, you just finished up your class?" Ishigami asked. "Yeah, you seem to have something on your mind," said Rei as she knew that Ishigami had that look. "Maybe Rei can give me some advice," Ishigami thought. "Yeah, there`s actually something, do you have some time?" said Ishigami. "Sure, I can spare some time, let`s go outside and talk," said Rei as they walked out of the campus.

"So you`re having issues with Miko? The surprise of the century" said Rei as she and Ishigami leaned back from under a tree. "Yeah I think it`s the fact that we`ve gone from bitter classmates to living together, now it seems that we`re arguing even more than we were back in high school," said Ishigami. "Well you know Miko`s personality pretty well since you two work together in the Student Council, putting two people at odds with each other is a recipe for disaster," said Rei. "Yeah, I knew she had some disagreements with me, but this is on a whole other level, this is apocalypse levels of bad," said Ishigami.

"You should give it time, I`m sure she feels the same way as you do," said Rei. "Well our parents were insistent on us sharing an apartment together, I tried to object, but my mother wasn`t having any of it and neither was hers," said Ishigami. "Figures even if you two have had some moments together, just try not to do anything that might annoy her," said Rei. "Easier said than done, but I feel like I`m running out of options," said Ishigami.

"Oh Ishigami, Rei," said Makoto as he walked up to the two of them. "Oh hey," said Ishigami. "So what are you two talking about?" Makoto asked as he joined them. "Oh Ishigami was telling me about his issues with living with Miko," said Rei. "I can kinda relate to that, I have an older sister that would nag at me about everything," said Makoto. "Wow, doesn't sound fun," said Ishigami. "Yeah, once I graduated high school, I just moved out to get some space," said Makoto.

"I probably would have done the same thing if my older brother was annoying," said Ishigami. "I guess the most important thing is to figure out what has been causing these problems. if you don`t change things, then everything stays the same" Makoto suggested. "Guess change isn`t really my thing," said Ishigami. "You better get used to it since college is all about adjusting to changes," said Makoto. "Great, just perfect" said Ishigami as he leaned back on the tree.

"Cheer up, I have some time before my next class, wanna play some Apex Legends?" Makoto asked as he took out his Switch. "Yeah, I`m down," said Ishigami as he pulled out his Switch and started a match. "Well, boys will be boys," Rei thought as she watched the two men play their video games.

30 minutes later

"Hey, our class is starting soon, we should get going," said Makoto as he looked at his watch. "You`re right, we should get going, see you around Ishigami," said Rei as she and Makoto got up and walked away. "Since when did Makoto and Rei get closer? Don`t tell me they`re dating. Guess that`s the beauty of college" Ishigami thought as he watched them walk off together.

"Well better get back to business, I don`t wanna be late for class," said Ishigami as he got up and walked to his next class. "A text from Miko," said Ishigami as he heard his phone chime as he checked his phone.

It`s your turn for dinner tonight, if you`re too lazy to cook anything, make sure you get something edible, I can`t be the one to cook dinner all the time. - Miko

"Well looks like I`m on dinner duty today," Ishigami thought as he put his phone away as he walked to his other lecture.

Later at work

"So what happened this time?" Yui asked as she and Ishigami were sitting in the break room. "Oh I`m just having some issues with my roommate," said Ishigami. "Oh yeah, you told me that you moved out not too long ago, how`s that going?" Yui asked. "Not so great, we bicker over little things," said Ishigami. "Well no one said being roommates with someone close to you is that easy, you`ll see each other`s real side as you stay roommates both good and bad," said Yui. "Guess that`s why it`s not too great to work with people close to you, but how should I deal with this problem?" said Ishigami.

"Get her some food, it usually works when dealing with the ladies, they`ll forget what problem they had with you since they`ll be too busy munching on food," said Yui. "Really? You think so?" Ishigami asked. "Yeah, whenever I get upset with my boyfriend he usually buys me some food to help cheer me up," said Yui. "I haven`t gotten any better ideas" Ishigami replied. "Alright, enough chit-chat back to work," said Yui as she got up from her seat. "Of course," said Ishigami as he went back to work.

"Another day another dollar," said Ishigami as he walked out of the Apple store. "If I remember correctly, Miko likes being praised," Ishigami thought as he walked through the mall. "Since it`s my turn for dinner tonight and I`m too lazy to cook today, I`ll just grab something for her as well," Ishigami thought as he went to go buy some dinner. "I`m in the mood for some fried chicken," Ishigami thought as he walked into a KFC.

"Good evening, what can I get for you?" said the cashier. "Hello, can you just give me a chicken bucket with mashed potatoes and fries on the side with a medium cola," said Ishigami. "Sure no problem," said the cashier. "At least I got paid this week, doesn`t hurt to splurge a little," Ishigami thought as he put his wallet away.

"Thanks for waiting, here`s your food," said the cashier as he brought a big bag of food out to Ishigami. "Let`s hope this calms things down a bit for my sanity," Ishigami thought as he picked up the food and headed back home.

7:30 PM

"I`m home," said Ishigami as he entered his apartment. "Oh, you`re home quite late," said Miko as she looked up from her laptop. "Did you eat yet?" Ishigami asked as he put his bag on the table chair. "A little bit, what`s for dinner?" said Miko as she got up. "I brought you something," said Ishigami as he placed a bag on the table." What`d you buy?" Miko asked as she walked into the kitchen. "I got us some KFC," said Ishigami as he placed the food bag on the table. "Oh, you did? That looks good" said Miko as she went to go get some plates.

"This is good, but are you planning to cook dinner at some point?" Miko asked as she bit into a piece of chicken. "I might once I get settled in" Ishigami replied as he took a sip of his cola. "I would hope so, eating out is fine sometimes, but it`ll put a dent in your savings," said Miko as she helped herself to another piece of chicken.

"I`m working so it`ll be fine every once in a while, why don`t you relax for a bit, don`t overdo it," said Ishigami. "I`m perfectly fine, grades are good and I`m getting used to college life" Miko replied. "I know that, just take it easy," said Ishigami. "This might be the first time Ishigami has cared for my well-being in a while, now I gotta apologize," Miko thought as if maybe Ishigami did care about her.

"Hey, listen I`m sorry for being so unappreciative of you, I haven`t been the kindest to you," said Miko which surprised Ishigami. "It`s fine, though it`s rare to hear you apologize to me," said Ishigami as he was cleaning the table. "How about you keep giving me a ride to college, I`ll give you a bit of gas money and we`ll call it even," said Miko. "Sure, works for me, shake on it," said Ishigami as he extended his hand out. "Fair enough, just remember to throw the trash out later," said Miko as she shook Ishigami`s hand. "Well I`m just glad that things have finally settled down," Ishigami thought as he leaned back on his chair as peace was restored once again for now.
