Joker opened his eyes - and a soft smile crossed his face at the sight that met him.
The moonlight was shining through the young man's apartment window. It crept into the room to revealed that curled up and laying fast asleep on his bed - was Morgana.
Joker sat upright and put his glasses on. He gazed down softly at the cat who was peacefully slumbering next to him. He couldn't describe how good it felt to have his fuzzy sidekick there with him.
The troubling time which the Phantom Thieves had been through was over. Things had not been the same for the teenage keepers while Morgana had been temporarily absent from the group. Having been made to feel useless during an argument with Ryuji, the feline had ran away, leaving his human peers beside themselves with worry over him. Joker, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto and Futaba all wanted him back. Even Ryuji, despite being the cause of the cat's departure, wanted Morgana to return to them. Joker certainly felt upset about not having his furry friend around. It was too quiet not having him in his room, telling him to go to sleep!
It was only when diving through their latest palace to explore that the Phantom Thieves managed to find Morgana. He had teamed up with Haru, hoping to prove himself by stealing the heart of her father - who the palace belonged to - without any help from his old allies. Through these circumstances, he saw the Beauty Thief being intimidated by her sinister fiance, Sugimura. Trying to protect her from her wicked betrothed had led to the cat getting hurt - which succeeded to infuriate his old teammates. None of them - not even Ryuji - could stand to see the Morgana getting harmed.
Managing to fight off Sugimura, the Phantom Thieves rescued Haru and brought her along with Morgana to LeBlanc. It was there at the café that they managed to encourage the girl to join their team - as well as convince the cat that they wanted him back. Getting him to realise just how much these teenagers valued him, Morgana made his peace with Ryuji and returned to the group. At last the Phantom Thieves were complete with their newest recruits starting - and one of their first members coming home.
Joker's smile softened as he looked at Morgana. Things felt so right again to have his feline comrade back with him in the apartment. He ran a hand affectionately along the cat's back.
At that moment, Morgana opened his blue eyes. They widened at once as he lifted his furry head, staring in disbelief at the boy in the moonlight.
"What are you doing?" he exclaimed. "Still awake at this time of night?"
Joker shrugged, grinning wordlessly at the cat.
"Geez, aren't you tired? A leader like you needs his rest!" Morgana smirked. "Go to sleep!"
Joker gave a hearty chuckle at Morgana's words. He took his glasses off and lay back on the bed, closing his eyes as he rested his head against the pillow.
Things were most definitely back to normal here at LeBlanc.
Morgana had returned to the Phantom Thieves, was living once again with Joker in his apartment - and was telling the boy to go to sleep!
It was as if he never left!
Never would Joker have it any other way!
