The grand stadium of the Pokémon League was abuzz with excitement as trainers from across the region gathered for the opening ceremony. The air was electric with the anticipation of battles to come, and the stage at the center of the arena was illuminated by dazzling lights. Hundreds of spectators cheered as Alder, the former Champion of Unova, stepped forward. His signature cloak flowed behind him, and his smile radiated warmth and confidence.Boe stood among the top contenders, side by side with Lydia and Iris. Lydia shifted on her feet, her eyes scanning the crowd, while Iris grinned wide, her bright purple hair bouncing as she shifted eagerly. Boe, meanwhile, was searching the faces of the gathered trainers for one in particular—his brother, Rev. But no matter how hard he looked, Rev was nowhere to be seen.Alder raised a hand, calling for attention, and the crowd hushed. "Welcome to the Pokémon League!" His voice boomed through the stadium, and Boe felt a tingle of excitement run down his spine. "You have all come here after countless hours of training, growth, and triumph. But this is where your true journey begins. Over the coming days, you will face your toughest challenges yet. You'll battle each other, and some of you will rise to incredible heights, while others may stumble. But remember—every battle is a step toward becoming stronger."Boe listened intently, his eyes still drifting toward the far ends of the trainer gathering. Where was Rev? He had been sure his brother would be here today, competing just like him. But there was no sign of him."Take these moments to gather your strength," Alder continued. "Forge bonds with your fellow trainers, because you'll need them when the battles get fierce. Now, go and prepare. The League will begin tomorrow. Good luck to all of you."As the trainers began to file back toward the waiting area, Boe stayed close to Lydia and Iris, his thoughts still on his brother. They made their way down a long hallway, the noise of the crowd dimming behind them, until they reached the waiting room, where trainers could regroup before the tournament. That's when Boe finally spotted him. Rev was leaning against a far wall, arms crossed, his eyes scanning the room. Boe made a beeline toward him, and Rev's face split into a grin when he saw his younger brother approach."You finally made it," Rev said, pushing off the wall to clap a hand on Boe's shoulder. "I was wondering if you were going to get lost in the crowd."Boe smiled. "I was looking for you out there during Alder's speech. Where were you?"Rev chuckled. "I was in the back, taking it all in. I've been here before, remember?" He paused, his expression growing a bit more serious. "Last time, I made it to the top 32 before I got knocked out. Not this time, though. This time, I'm aiming to win it all."Boe nodded, feeling the same fire ignite in him. "I'm going to give it my all, too. No holding back."Rev smiled at that, a glint of pride in his eyes. "Good. When we face each other, it'll be a real battle. Let's make a promise right now—no matter what happens, we fight each other with everything we've got.""Deal," Boe said, holding out his hand.Rev took it, shaking firmly. "Deal."As they stood there, a sense of determination settled over both brothers. The promise had been made, and no matter what the tournament threw at them, they knew that when the time came, their battle would be one to remember._Boe's first battle in the one-on-one knockout round was against a trainer named Darian, a quiet but intense challenger with sharp, focused eyes. The arena hummed with energy as Boe tossed out his first Poké Ball, revealing Cupid, his quirky but loyal Woobat. On the opposite side, Darian released a bold-looking Scolipede, its segmented body towering over the small Woobat. Cupid flitted nervously, but Boe called out a word of encouragement, steadying his Pokémon's resolve. The battle was fierce from the start. Scolipede charged in with blinding speed, using Poison Jab to try and overwhelm Cupid. Boe commanded a quick Air Slash, but Scolipede dodged, its massive form darting with surprising agility. It retaliated with a Steamroller, nearly crushing Cupid. Boe gritted his teeth, but he noticed Cupid's wings glowing faintly. Boe called for Calm Mind, and Cupid's quirky nature paid off as it steadied itself. With boosted strength, Cupid unleashed a powerful Psychic, striking Scolipede hard and knocking it off balance. One more blast of Psychic secured Boe's first victory, and Cupid fluttered back to Boe, tired but victorious. The second battle was against a trainer named Malaya, a young woman with a mischievous grin. She released a Scrafty, the Dark- and Fighting-type Pokémon glaring at Boe with narrowed eyes. Boe decided to counter Scrafty's tough exterior with his confident, bashful Arick, the Krokorok. Arick and Scrafty faced off in a brutal exchange of blows, both Pokémon relying on physical power.Scrafty started with a High Jump Kick, launching itself at Arick with speed and force. Arick barely dodged the move, and Boe capitalized on the miss, ordering a Dig attack. Arick burrowed underground, and Scrafty skidded to a halt, scanning for its opponent. When Arick emerged from the ground with a surprise strike, Scrafty took a direct hit but recovered quickly. It retaliated with Crunch, clamping down on Arick hard. Boe's heart raced, but Arick pulled through, shaking off the attack. With a quick Stone Edge, Arick created sharp rock spires that erupted beneath Scrafty, sending it tumbling across the battlefield. The knockout was close, but Arick's precision earned Boe another win.In the third round, Boe faced Hugo, a stoic trainer who sent out a Mawile. Knowing Steel-types were tough, Boe chose Olive, his Servine, for speed and versatility. The battle began intensely, with Mawile's Iron Head forcing Olive to dodge. Olive's Leaf Blade barely scratched Mawile's tough defense, but Boe quickly shifted strategy, calling for Leech Seed to drain its energy over time.As Mawile retaliated with Play Rough, Boe had Olive strike back with Dragon Tail, pushing Mawile away and keeping it on the defensive. The match turned into a back-and-forth struggle, but the constant energy drain from Leech Seed wore Mawile down. With one final Leaf Blade, Olive broke through and secured the victory for Boe.Boe's final battle of the knockout round was against Yusef, a tall and confident trainer who released Hydreigon, a menacing Dragon-type Pokémon. Knowing this would be his toughest challenge yet, Boe called on Selen, his loyal Stoutland. Selen growled, ready for battle. The fight was fierce from the start. Hydreigon unleashed a Dragon Pulse, sending shockwaves through the battlefield, but Selen held her ground. Boe commanded Baby-Doll Eyes, softening Hydreigon's attacks. Hydreigon responded with a brutal Dark Pulse, but Selen dodged and countered with Play Rough. Her powerful strike hit Hydreigon hard, causing it to reel back.Yusef wasn't done, though, as Hydreigon fired off a Fire Blast. Selen narrowly dodged, singed but still determined. Boe saw the opening and ordered Rock Smash, and Selen charged in, breaking through Hydreigon's defenses. With one last Play Rough, Selen took down Hydreigon, sealing the victory for Boe.Selen returned to Boe's side, proud and panting, as Boe breathed a sigh of relief, knowing he'd triumphed in his hardest battle yet.
