"Oh, good morning," she said, noticing him and closing the door behind her. Then she frowned. "Ah, sorry, did you want to go in? I was just about to head out and get something to eat. I forgot to bring anything." She didn't seem surprised that he was at the door, but for some reason, it felt like she was forcing herself to look him in the eye. He tensed up and tried to keep his mind off hers.
"You've been waiting here? Since when?" He was a little surprised to see her there so early, even though his arrival was also quite early. Cobra chalked his up to paranoia, but why was Lucy here then?
She crossed her arms. "Just a little bit. I wanted to relax here for a while before we started. You?" He frowned.
"...I forgot that you had the key."
"Ah."
The silence dragged itself across the two of them like a dying man–painfully and without mercy. Cobra shifted in place and tried not to look away. The unexpected awkwardness triggered a warning in his brain and he instantly started looking for any way he could to escape.
