I own only a few characters, but most of them are owned by Uncle Rick. I own no characters in this chapter.

Will POV:

I run down the marble stairs of the castle, almost tripping.

"William," my mother called, "What have I told you about running indoors?" My mother is a beautiful person, who looks like me. She has my blonde hair and blue eyes. Today she has her hair in a neat bun with a carefully placed white rose. She has a yellow and white gown, with small flecks of gold to make it shine. Her small gold stud earrings and simple necklace helped even out the amount of piazza.

"Sorry mom," I say quickly, continuing to run, "father called me down to his office, something about my birthday apparently."

"Okay, but walk!"

I slow my pace but keep a fast walk. I wonder what father wants to talk to me about. My 18th birthday is around the corner, maybe it's a gift. Maybe a new horse, or a new crown. I walk through the labyrinth of hallways, knowing exactly where my father's office is. I admire the endless paintings and sculptures, wondering who made all of them.

I finally arrive at my father's office, I put my hand on the cold, silver handle and twist. The oak door creaks as I push it open.

"You called for me father?" I ask

Apollo turns to face me. He's sitting in his big office chair and seems to be writing letters. He has his hair in a small ponytail, and is wearing white slacks and a yellow button-up shirt.

"Ah, yes my son, sit." Apollo says. I obey him and sit in the chair closest to the door, shifting in it to try and make myself more comfortable.

"What did you call me down for?" I ask, genuinely curious.

"As you know, your about to turn 18,"

I nod my head, what will my gift be? "Yes, father"

"You know that you are the prince of the Solar Kingdom, and that means you have certain duties to fulfill." He says, studying the globe on his desk.

My heart dropped. This definitely wasn't a gift. "I do, father."

"And you know being 18 means your adult."

I wonder what he will ask of me. "Yeah?"

"'Yeah' is not very proper now, is it? Try again." My father sits back in his chair.

"Yes, father." I say, getting slightly annoyed. Just get to the point!

My father takes a deep breath, and continues. "You are the heir to the throne. I'm afraid you will need a wife to rule with you when I pass. You will need to marry someone before I die. We do not know for certain when I will pass, though. So I ask that you find a spouse before your 18th birthday. You have 3 months."

What? 3 months? I begin to feel unwell at the news. "Father, you never let me leave the castle! How am I supposed to find a wife! And only 3 months?" I fume.

My father remains calm. "That's why I have already arranged for you to marry Bianca from the Shadow Kingdom"

I jump up, enraged. "WHAT!" I roar, why would he do this?! "I DON'T WANT TO GET MARRIED TO SOME RANDOM GIRL!"

My father stands up from his chair and takes a deep breath, trying to calm himself. "You will do what I say. You will marry Bianca. You will be happy with her. And you will rule with her." He says, trying to control his anger. My father sits back down in his chair, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I didn't want to do this, but I need you to get married soon. I needed something to help stop the war." Apollo sighs and folds his hands in his lap.

I know what he's talking about. The war between the Solar, Flower, and Shadow Kingdom have gone on too long. Too many people have died. The war has gone on for 4 years, all because Princess Persephone was kidnapped from the Flower Kingdom by King Hades, the ruler of the Shadow Kingdom. King Apollo agreed to help Demeter get Persephone back. The other 4 kingdoms didn't want to get involved—the Aqua, Sky, and Passion kingdom—in the war. They were all either busy with their own wars, or didn't feel that they should get in the drama.

There are also many rebel groups. Almost every kingdom has one. Like the Hunters of Artemis are against the Solar Kingdom, the Wisdom Seekers are against the Aqua Kingdom, and the Abandoned are against the Sky and Passion Kingdom. Each group has their reasons. Some are trying to come to an agreement with the kingdom their against. Like the leader of the Wisdom Seekers—Athena—has a daughter who is engaged to the prince of the Aqua Kingdom. Other rebel groups and kingdoms are too busy fighting each other that they aren't coming to any agreements.

I nod and turn to walk out when my father speaks.

"Son, I'm sorry." Apollo says sadly, "Please forgive me."

I pretend I don't hear him and walk out the door.

Author's Note:

Hi guys! I decided to write a Solangelo story! There will be other ships such as Theyna and Percabeth. Please tell me if there are any mistakes. It's going to end up being a pretty long story, so buckle up!
