Oh, unholy Zeref. Meredy?! What was she doing in there?
Sure enough, even though it was a little hard to make out, once he got a hold of the strongest memory he could immediately tell it was Meredy interacting with Lyon. She didn't have a beauty filter on like Juvia, but that was mostly because Lyon didn't really know what she looked like. They'd first met when she was still wearing her guild cloak, trying (unsuccessfully) to ward off attention.
He'd seen her anyway and stopped to ask for some directions in town since he was visiting someone but didn't come around here often. She obviously didn't know much more herself but had offered to point him in a general direction. One thing lead to another, and, oh for crying out loud, they had essentially walked right through town together! Why did he not know about this already!
He'd only seen her two other times after that, the second time when he'd spotted her a few months later and bragged about memorizing more of the landscape before insisting they do another walk around the town. In the memories, she didn't appear uncomfortable, although it was hard to decipher true emotions from all the weird filters Lyon attached to everything. Their second "date" ended about the same as the first.
The third (and last!) time he'd seen her was…literally three days ago. When they walked in again. He grimaced. That must be what ignited his thoughts on all this, the fact that his most recent sighting happened merely a few days ago.
To Lyon, although they'd shared sparse interactions, his impression of her remained that of a mysterious cutie who was easy to talk to. Somehow, this constituted as being worthy of attempting to date, even though he knew even less about her than Juvia! It made Cobra's brain melt a little to see the man who'd figured out Sawyer's gimmick be utterly incapacitated by the horror known as love.
One thing was for certain though, he wasn't letting him get near Meredy. Not out of any sense of protectiveness (because whatever trouble that brat got into, she could get out of herself) but because he already got his fair share of all of that through Jellal, and he was not getting that times two. Especially not with this guy.
