Chapter 16: Hanging Out amongst Friends
Day 23 (Wednesday - April 8th)
School sucked.
Even worse than this morning and he was just happy it was over. Between literally dragging You away from the others who decided to be extra talkative, tending to the tightrope that was Ruby upon reaching the library finding said redhead with Hanamaru, and classes being… well classes, Relon was utterly exhausted. Hence why he was still in his seat after the bell signaling the end of school had rung nearly half an hour ago.
"Relon?" Slowly lifting up to the voice of none other than his childhood friend, he accepts his time has come as he drags himself out of his seat. "Tired too?" She asks with a smile as they depart through the uncrowded hall.
"More mentally than physically." He sighs massaging his temple.
"Ehehe, sorry about that."
"Not your fault… entirely." He musters a smirk to get a gentle bump of her side against his. "How about you?"
"I'm fine. A little tired but nowhere near your level. How are your wrists? I noticed you messing with them this morning."
"Meh, a little sore again. Considering I caught a human body falling and all. It should be fine by later tonight or tomorrow morning." He says allowing the girl to examine them momentarily.
"We can stop by the nurse's office and get some more alcohol or ointment."
"Nah, I'll be fine. Just need some rest is all."
"Rel-oniichan, You-senpai!" Cut off, both take notice of themselves being in front of the library. Turning, they take sight of Hanamaru coming their way.
"Hanamaru-chan, hey, what's up?"
Watching the two go back and forth, the memory of You practically whining about Hanamaru addressing her by her last name unlike Relon during their group reading comes to mind. The headache with being so cautious around Ruby, the numerous notes his teachers decided to dump on him, etcetera.
"I have my duties in the library to finish up but I'll be done afterwards."
Wait, huh?
"Perfect! We'll wait for you then." You smiles.
"Okay! See you in a little bit, zura!" She bids returning into the library.
"Sorry, what did I just miss? My mind went places." He blinks dumbly, earning a giggle from her.
"Nothing really. Just us planning a little outing with Hanamaru-chan later." She says as they enter the library heading for the back where he pauses as he looks to You taking a seat on a small couch. "But first, someone needs some rest." She pats her lap for his eyes to widen shifting from them to her slightly flushed face. "Most of the students are gone so no one will likely see so we're safe from any commotion over it. Besides, you mentioned wanting rest so-" Cut off by the near blur that is Relon, she can only blink to him tossing his bag next to her before practically dropping his head onto her thighs.
"God, Buddah, thank you for lap pillows." He sighs with a smile.
Taken aback, a chuckle exudes from her lips as she begins to caress his scruffy hair.
"Someone was looking forward to this."
"Tired Relon equals blunt Relon." He quips to peer a single eye at her red face lightening. "Besides, you needed the rest too so we can both consider this a win-win for what it's worth."
Widening at his words, her eyes simmer as a nervous swelling conjures itself within her chest. Her curiosity poking out from that feeling.
"What… is this worth to you?" She murmurs, her voice barely audible.
For a moment, he doesn't respond. After what feels like agonizingly long seconds, he turns his body to face her. Red eyes locking onto blue.
"From you, it's priceless." He matches her voice before closing them once more easing himself into the comfort of her touch.
Allowing his words to sink in, a smile adorns You's features. Leaning more comfortably into the cushion, one hand returns to Relon's hair as the other holds his own. Her own eyes begin to shut as she's lulled to sleep.
One Hour Later
Feeling the low buzz of You's phone resound from her skirt pocket, Relon's eyes stir open. The sight of his hand held by her own causes the urge to kiss it arise though he quickly suppresses it.
We're not dating. Cool it, Relon.
Tracing her arm, he momentarily stops at the sight of her sailor top revealing the slightest amount of stomach. Blinking, his mind ingrains the image as his eyes travel up her arm to her sleeping face.
Carefully lifting up while releasing his hand from her grasp, he notes of her still resting as the phone gently chimes. Retrieving it and silencing it, he places it back in her pocket.
She must have been more tired than she let on if she didn't wake up from the phone or myself.
Carefully sitting up, he gives one last glance at the girl before walking down an aisle. Within seconds, his eyes take notice of Hanamaru placing books away on a shelf. Hearing his footsteps, she turns to greet him with that innocent smile.
"Rel-oniichan, how was your nap zura?"
"I… surprisingly needed that more than I originally thought. You's still out though." He chuckles as does the library helper.
"I'm not surprised. You both had a busy day, you especially zura. You and You-senpai seemed so peaceful. Wow, that sentence felt weird."
"I second that." He mutters, earning another chuckle from the girl as she turns to him fully.
Though to anyone else, it would seem as though we were a couple.
"I'm just about done so it shouldn't be much longer."
"Roger that. Take your time, Sis." He bids with a wave returning to the corner.
Stopping, he once again takes in You. Smiling, he takes a seat with a noticeable thud, her body subtly responding before her eyes flutter open for a mere moment.
"Mmm…" She hums, outstretching her arms to lean her head on Relon.
"Seems like you were in need of more rest than myself." He notes leaning his head on hers.
"Mm, I guess so." She mumbles sporting a tired smile, her eyes going to his hand resting atop his leg..
"Hanamaru's wrapping up now." His words regaining her attention.
With a content sigh, exuded from her nostrils, he allows a breath of his own to escape. Reaching for her hand, to her mild surprise, he takes it intertwining their fingers.
"Sorry."
Understanding his words immediately, she gives the smallest of shakes accompanied by a gentle squeeze.
"Don't be. Moments like these are enough." She murmurs massaging his knuckles.
"For now?"
"... For now." She giggles, earning a roll of his eyes.
Before long, both depart converging with Hanamaru at the entrance.
"Alright, we got a full day ahead of us so let's get started!" You pumps a fist into the air.
"You are way too excited all of a sudden."
"Hey! What's wrong with being excited?"
"Oh, nothing~."
"Okay, Auntie."
"Darn right." He smirks for a fit of giggling to sound from the 1st year.
"You two are acting like a married couple."
Blinking, both exchange a look of bewilderment to laugh bashfully.
"I guess you're right on that one, Hanamaru-chan. Alright, Zensoku Zenshin… Yousoro!" She takes off.
"Hey, You, wait up!"
"Ah, wait up zura!"
Numazu City
"Zensoku Zenshin Yousoro is You's catchphrase she uses whenever she goes somewhere. You get used to it once she starts dragging you everywhere." Relon chuckles as the three can now be seen walking along the sidewalk inside of the city.
"I do not drag anyone anywhere." Said girl responds with droopy eyes.
"Pet stores, clothing outlets, hot spots related to scenery…" He counts off, each mention making You's head drop slightly. "Shall I go on?" He grins, the blue-eyed girl twitching an eye to avert her gaze.
"No please." She mutters, earning chuckles from the two. "That reminds me, Hanamaru-chan."
"Zura?"
"Anywhere you want to go to first?"
Numazu City. The origin of the first idols. A place where the literal joy of Japan itself was snuffed out by the infamous Idol Law. Of the four sectors within Numazu City, each served a specific role. To get the main one out the way; Sector D used to be where all of the idol-related activities occurred. Shops, concerts, parades. Anything and everything idol-related, that's where it occurred.
Since the ruination of said sector, many shops have either ridden themselves of or closed down entirely their idol merchandise. Such establishments went towards the remaining three sectors or Central Mall.
Sector A holds much of the common necessities. Fast food joints, shops, pharmacies; simple over-the-counter goods. Sector B holds much of Numazu's infrastructure. Corporations, other large businesses, courts, City Hall, emergency transportation, museums, restaurants and so on. It is also where Numazu's Hospital is located. Sector C held that middle ground between A and B. It held some important landmarks and other not-so-important ones. The main cause became due to the size and distribution of such things being simply too much to compact into one sector. Parks, the local zoo, the power plant, water supply, the city's library, the airport are but a few to name. Despite all of this, Central Mall remained practically untouched as it served as the main route of transportation for people, trains, and other vehicles alike as well as the main source of attraction alongside the once idol stadium.
Due to the Idol Law, many were upset (and still are) with the relocation of goods. Of the few infrastructures that were not affected by the law, banks and schools remained spaced out due to convenience of homeowners living in and around the city and accessibility issues.
Bookstore
Which returns us to the three now in Sector A. More specifically the book store.
"It feels like forever since I've been here. Note to self, come here more often." Relon comments, the three can be seen examining the numerous isles.
Giving a momentary glance away from a manga that piqued his interest, his eyes go first to You kneeling over a few feet away. Moving her way, she seems to take notice as she rises to meet him.
"Find something you like?"
"Maybe. Found a book on swimming so I'm curious what it has to offer."
"Hm. Now that I think about it, we've yet to practice our respective sports since getting back." He voices his thoughts absentmindedly. "We should get on that…"
"R-Relon…"
"Huh?" Lifting to the flush-faced girl, his head instinctively tilts in confusion. In doing so, he notices and mentally envies the book being pulled closer to her chest.
"So you want to see me in a swimsuit?" She mumbles just about a whisper.
Blinking a few times as his head mind processes the implied meaning, his eyes eventually widen as a blush soon joins his face as well.
"O-O-Oh, that's not…" He stumbles, his mind laying out the apology though his mouth fails at translating. Giving in with a sigh, he can only sigh. "Sorry. Not my intent." He says with a curt bow of his head.
Noting the girl step closer, he gets a light bonk on his head.
"It's fine. It's partially my fault for thinking like that." She eases the atmosphere with a careful smile before looking around, spotting Hanamaru through the bookshelf's space a good distance away and no onlookers in the vicinity.
"You?" Tilting his head at the girl looking around, her focus soon comes back on him to lean forward on her tiptoes.
Heart suddenly races, he mentally steels himself as her mouth hovers centimeters from his ear.
"Still, I meant what I said. I don't mind you looking." Gobsmacked, he can only muster sounds found on an onomatopoeia guide as she giggles brushing past him. "Just… don't stare for too long." With that last note, she brushes past him, vanishing around the corner.
Mental clogs eventually fixing themselves, he ceases his useless sounds to cover the red across his face. Peeking through a small space aisles away, You finally take a long breath. The tension from within settling back down as she looks at the book.
[Tips for having a Youthful Romance with a side of Comedy]
He did things to her and she did things to him. Their bond was growing more and more by the day. This was something they both knew. That didn't mean that until the day comes where their affections for the other is once again a major topic, she could at least have some fun with these feelings of hers.
"Hehe. Relon…"
"Jeez, I swear that You…"
From beyond with a clear line of sight, Hanamaru can only giggle having seen the whole thing. A happy smile on her face. After all, real life romance was but one of the few things that could rival fictional romance.
Outside
Reuniting outside, Relon immediately noted the small bags both girls had. Despite being curious on what You had gotten, the girl could only giggle refusing to tell him. Hanamaru had gotten the next installation in the HP series while Relon had gone ahead and ordered the first three. The owner told him he'd get an email when his packages would arrive so he'd just have to wait until then. With their business taken care of, the group departed once more.
"Where to now?" You hums for the sound of rumbling to emit amongst the three.
Looking between both Relon and Hanamaru, she forces back a snicker.
"Hey, don't laugh! I didn't eat much today!" He denies. "And it wasn't just my stomach!" He points at the equally flustered first year.
"Z-Zura?! Rel-oniichan, I-I…!"
"Don't worry about it Hanamaru, You's just messing with us." He deadpans at the grinning girl.
"Sorry, I saw an opportunity and couldn't help myself. My bad, Hanamaru-chan."
"I don't get an apology?" He arches a braise incredulously.
"Oh, you know I'm only getting a rise." She leans into his side for the boy's eye to twitch. "Mom's rubbing off on you in more ways than one. Not a good thing at all I remind you."
"Hehe, come on. Let's grab a bite to eat!"
"Where at though?"
"Hmm. Well, we're in Sector A so there's a lot of choices around us." She muses surveying their options.
As she does so, her eyes catch sight of a drooling Hanamaru. Following her gaze, she takes notice of a crepe shop across the street.
"How about there?" Following her gaze, his eyes take notice of the restaurant up a flight of stairs in question.
"Delectable Crepes? Sure." He shrugs to notice Hanamaru nodding with vigor. "Never had crepes so this'll be a new experience." Gawking at the boy, he meets her with the same deadpan demeanor. "Did you forget this is me? I've never been one to do new things after we moved."
"Huh… Honestly, it slipped my mind. Good thing we're together because you have some catching up to do." She grins, grabbing him with Hanamaru leading the group. "I'm gonna take a wild guess you've only experienced the wonders of crepes through anime and those romance novels of yours."
"Yup." He answers not at all bothered for a giggle to sound from his best friend. "Time for you to experience it first hand, Relon! Zensoku zenshin yousoro!"
Now, Relon would confidently say he didn't have a sweet tooth. Sweets weren't his thing aside from sweet tea. Candy, cake, anything of the sort he'd often skip or pass off to someone else. Hell, he wasn't even one for cookies unless someone baked a batch specifically for him. Mainly his mom. Though every now and then he'd indulge in the savory taste of sugar. And today would be one of those days.
Entering the establishment, the first thing he noted was the common small space similar to the rest of the eateries in Sector A. As the name of the shop suggests, its main themes are crepes with other fancy desserts.
"Welcome to Delectable Crepes." The hostess greets turning from whatever she was doing to the three. In doing so, her eyes immediately do a quick once over upon catching Relon for her smile to widen slightly. "Is this your first time dining in with us?" She asks, her focus solely on him having already forgotten the other two.
"Yes, it is." Relon nods. "It'll just be us three."
"Right this way, please." The hostess beckons, grabbing three menus from her podium.
Feeling a bad sensation out of nowhere, Relon shivers ready to comment for her eyes to stop at You. Said girl sporting a familiar ominous expression and aura.
Not again. He mentally sighs for something to catch his attention out the corner of his eye. In doing so, he can only twitch in disbelief upon seeing Hanamaru match You's energy. Oh joy, two yanderes now.
"Here you all go." The hostess gestures for Hanamaru and You to take one side of the table with Relon on the other. "I'll give you all some time to look over the menu. If any of you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me." As she turns to leave, Relon notices her eyes linger on him, a smile still worn, before she vanishes around the corner.
Waiting a few moments ensuring she's nowhere in hearing or seeing distance, he leans back into the booth.
Is every female I become acquainted with gonna turn into a yandere? What if this happens again with Takami and Sakurauchi-san? At the thought, another shiver runs down his back. I have a bad feeling that my youthful days with girls will be the furthest thing from normal…
"That was interesting." He muses to peer at the girls locked in the direction of where the hostess went. "Oi, Yanderes." He deadpans, giving a light chop to snap both from her thoughts.
"Huh/Zura?" Both blink innocently for a sigh to depart from his lips once more.
Jealousy is truly a terrifying beast.
"It was pretty obvious the hostess was flirting but it would do her well to not forget that others are also around." Piquing at his words, both blink.
"You're not interested in her, zura?"
"Why would I be? Going off of looks alone, she's attractive but there's no meaning behind it." Crossing his arms, he gets more comfortable in his seat before continuing. "Don't get me wrong, I'm all for love at first sight but… that alone isn't enough. It's what comes afterwards that makes a world of difference."
"Huh…" Hanamaru allows an audible hum to escape noting of the slight blush on You's face. "Does that mean you've experienced love at first sight, zura?"
About to answer without a second thought, he catches himself. In doing so, he can feel heat rush to his cheeks as he closes his agape mouth.
"No comment." He averts his gaze to rest his chin atop his palm ignoring his visible blush. "Right now, I don't need to be focused on dating."
"Why's that?" She pursues, curiosity evident in her voice as well as her demeanor alongside You's.
Blinking, he ponders his next answer.
Several reasons actually. Mom's teasing will unlock a new level, something which I don't want to ever experience until much later mind you. Sports tryouts are coming up so I plan to put all of my focus into that. Though those sound more like excuses than anything. I can't say I'll be focused on breaking the law. Hmm… I suppose a proper cause would be because when I do get with that special person, I want to make sure I have my priorities straight so I can focus on them. I want those feelings I'll hold to reach them fully. If I say that, it'll be just like the other morning with her, Takami, and Sakurauchi-san…
Giving another once over to find their waitress nowhere in sight, he leans back in his seat eyeing the two.
"Because I have you two." He meekly answered for their eyes to widen ever so slightly in surprise. "I don't want to sound like I'm making an excuse. Honest. It's just… being with my best friend who I haven't seen in forever as well as someone I've quickly come to cherish as a sisterly figure; I don't need to add anything to that to the list. I'm content with enjoying moments like these to the fullest for now. Why would I want to take away such wondrous opportunities?"
Whether they were in awe at his touched words or simply in disbelief at the very words he exhibited, he couldn't discern nor would he be able to.
"WHAT DO WE WANT?!"
"IDOLS!"
"WHAT DO WE WANT?!"
"IDOLS!"
"BRING BACK IDOLS! GET RID OF THE BAN! BRING BACK IDOLS! GET RID OF THE BAN!"
"WHO DO WE STAND WITH?!"
"WE STAND WITH IDOLS!"
"WHO DO WE WANT TAKEN DOWN?!"
"TAKE DOWN THE GOVERNMENT!"
Having gone outside alongside the two as well as the other patrons, they could only watch in silence as one of the many protesters marched through the streets. The Zero Idols Law had made many things come to light. Political parties, social groups, japanese territories across all of Japan, and even the very same civil unrest the trio had just bore witness to; protests. All because of idols.
"Another daily march without answers, zura…"
Giving her a momentary glance, he could see the distress in her eyes. Not knowing what to say, he simply lets his actions speak. Feeling a tug at her arm, her eyes shift to see him offering an arm. Noticing You having already taken his other side in support, a wry smile graces her features as she does the same hugging his side.
Ever since saving her and allowing herself to become more brave, simply being around Relon gave her strength. Even now when her spirits had lessened, there he was offering that same kindness he has since they first met. His simple yet caring touch was more than enough for her to feel better. He was her support and she was his. That's what siblings were for after all.
"Come on." Looking up to his with those curious eyes he's come to adore, a smile graces his features. "I have a place in mind."
Sector B - Tropical Café
"What is this place, zura?"
Before them lies a standalone establishment with a mixture of Japanese and Hawaiian amenities.
"Tropical Café. Come on." He beckons alongside a smiling You.
Like the name suggests, it's a relatively quaint area excluding its enormous size. Several workers can be seen behind the counters taking orders while others directly behind them preparing colorful fruit blends.
"A place that has a little bit of everything." He smiles for a man seeming to be in his forties with blonde hair, green eyes, and signs of recently shaved facial hair as indicated by the stubbles on his face. He's wearing a red button up shirt under a leather sleeved vest and jeans standing at 6'2.
"Aye! My favorite nephew returns once again!" He boasts aloud, leaving the counter to greet them. "And I see you've brought the ever lovely You-chan with you! Oh, and you've brought a new face!"
"Hehe, sup Uncle Ryan." Relon grins dapping said man up. "This is a friend from school. Hanamaru Kunikida."
"H-Hello there, zura." She musters out to cover her mouth.
"Awe, and she has a cute tic. First You-chan and now Hanamaru-chan. You're finding all the adorable ones, ain't cha Relon." He smiles, elbowing the male.
"P-Please shut up, Uncle." He dismisses though the blush on his face doesn't help.
"Ahahaha! The joy of youth! Enjoy it kids. These are some of the most precious days you'll ever get! Now then, Hanamaru-chan, if you're ever in need of anything, anything at all, just give ole Ryan a call and whatever you desire will be in front of ya lickity split. Ya hear?" Unable to muster words, she can only blink and nod. "Ata-girl! Anywho, I best get back to helping the crew. Can't leave a ship alone without its captain."
"Aye, aye." Both Relon and You salute as he bids farewell.
"That was… interesting, zura."
"Haha, you get used to it. This way!" You grins departing through the establishment into the back where they greet some of the workers before stopping before a door.
"What's this?"
"Our room." Relon grins for both he and You to open it.
In doing so, the first thing that the first year lays eyes upon is a dark staircase illuminated by dimly lit lights along the wall. Leading the way, Relon and You look to Hanamaru as her eyes buck wide.
What can only be described as the coziest room she has ever seen. Standing in a narrow room with triangular wood frames, she eyes the small table fit four. However, it's what lies beyond it that leaves her speechless. A futon with three pillows lays atop a colorful rug with a 40-inch television sitting adjacent to the bedding. On the other side of the futon against the wall lies a heater. A beanless bag chair matching the color pattern with a stand next to it. Atop said stand, a coaster alongside several magazines and books. Hanging from the wood frame lies several chimes, each with a country's flag. Though likely the most captivating trait yet was the small conveyor belt in the corner of the room with a box next to it with menus attached to the side.
"Uncle Ryan and Mom grew up together the same way You and I have. He loved cooking the same amount as Mom loved to help people. After highschool, mom went to medical school and he traveled the world honing his skills. Years passed and both settled back right here. Due to their friendship, we get to eat for free though they always bicker about the payment." He chuckles. "Family don't have to pay and whatnot but mom always insisted."
"Then why is this here, zura?" At her question, the happy demeanor on You shifts to worry as she looks to Relon whose visage is hidden by his bangs.
"Ah. That'd be because of my parent's divorce." He winces, feigning his uncomfort with a wry smile.
"I'm sorry! I didn't-"
"Don't worry about it, Hanamaru. It happens. Besides, you didn't know." He pats her head. "After Mom and Dad divorced, it took all Mom had to hold Uncle Ryan back given the situation. Following that, he created this place for us in case anything ever happened." Walking over to the conveyor belt, he fishes in the box before pulling out a notepad. "Mom's always going on about not taking advantage but Uncle Ryan would always nag me about taking every opportunity that comes my way so here we are."
Easing herself from the stumbled topic, You offers a smile beckoning the girl over. Taking a seat on the futon next to Relon, he hands both a menu.
"So what is the conveyor belt for, zura?"
"We write down our orders and they send the food right up." You says nonchalantly for the girl to widen once more. "Yeah. Complete comfort and simplicity at its finest."
"Amen to that." Relon stretches out on the futon to arch one leg for the other to rest atop it, notepad in hand. "So, whatcha gals getting?"
"Pfft, copying Uncle Ryan. Dock 50 points." You giggles.
"50? That's too mean."
"25 points, zura."
"Huh?!" He shoots up to Hanamaru and You giggling. "Even you, Sis? Jeez, 2-on-1. How unfair." Despite that, he couldn't hide the smile he wore.
He held some worry over revealing his parent's status to her but despite that, it seemed she didn't let it bother her. A part of him worried she'd let such an accident linger but it seems his worries were for naught.
"Ooooh! I wanna try this!"
"Zuraaaaaaaa!"
Watching them both review the menu, he can only chuckle and pass Hanamaru the notepad as she begins to jot down their order.
Huh?
Watching her flip the page, only a few seconds pass before another page is flipped. Wait, was she drooling? Soon handed the notepad, he could only blink in repetition at the sheer amount of food. You had ordered a simple sandwich and he was just gonna have a smoothie and sandwich but holy shit. Either Hanamaru was letting her eyes get the better of him or…
"Zuraaaaaaa!" Watching her take a huge ass bite off her burger, he could now state with confidence that she was a glutton for food.
Watching You not at all bothered instead taking a much less voracious bite, he looks down at his lone sandwich and then to Hanamaru having already moved on to her fried rice. Honestly, he couldn't tell if his pride was wounded over his little sister eating more than him or not. Then again, seeing her happy face made his own worries vanish without a second thought.
After their "bountiful" meal, the three had remembered they were students which meant homework. None had any issue with their given assignments however. Relon was more so impressed alongside You at how knowledgeable Hanamaru was. In no time at all, she had finished all of her assignments before cuddling next to the male and beginning on her next book. O
Having taken a moment to inspect the girl, he found it rather intriguing how focused she was despite resting her head on his shoulder which happened to be his writing side. She seemed not at all bothered whenever he needed to move his hand. Her eyes would slowly shift from up to down before resetting. Her breath, as indicated by her modest chest, would rise, hold for a moment as if entranced in whatever scene, before lowering back down. Every now and then, she'd delve her head literally more into the page before she would raise and adjust a few locks. At times, he would even do it earning a thankful smile.
Giving a quick glance at You, said girl having quickly averted her gaze back towards her work, he could only mentally chuckle at how obvious she was. When a random girl flirted or took her side, she'd go yandere mode but with Hanamaru, he could only guess her status as her friend and his "sister" gave her immunity. He'd likely have to give her some sort of special treatment to ease her jealous self.
After an hour or two, both had finally finished.
"Ugh, finally done." He breaths out.
"Whoever made homework is cruel." You adds slipping to the ground from her seat. "Why did I listen to your suggestion of tackling everything at once?"
"Because it's better to get it all out of the way. Besides, we still need to be good role models to our precious kohai."
"Grr, touché." She twitches an eye at his knowing grin.
"Teehee, you're both too funny."
"You carries the act." He adds for said girl to widen.
"What was that?!"
"Haha, ah payback is as sweet as ever- Oof!" Feeling a cushion smack him, the force is enough to send him onto his back.
Discarding the cushion, he's now the one to twitch in irritation at the smirking girl.
"You just can't let me gloat in my earned victory, can you?" He grins picking up one of the pillows.
"Hehe, I'm not the type of captain to take such a defeat lying down." She grins back, readying another cushion.
"Zura? Wait, you two aren't gonna-"
"Hya!" Both cut in chucking their weapons to drop at the center.
"I've been meaning to get you back for our last pillow fight when we were kids!"
"Hehe, have you trained enough to take on the master and her new apprentice?"
"Pfft! What apprentice? All I see is a captain all alone against a brother and his sister!"
"What?! As if!"
"Alright. Why don't we let Hanamaru decide?"
"Sounds good to me! Don't be disappointed when we girls team up!"
Looking to the girl beyond lost at the quick pace of events, both extend their weapons towards her.
"What's…?"
"With friends, all kinds of things can happen." Relon smiles.
"Some are tame. Others are chaotic. Then there's us. The perfect blend of both." You salutes with a wink.
"Moments like these are the best experiences we'll ever have!" Both rise to their feet poised for battle. "Now, pick!"
"Enjoy it kids. These are some of the most precious days you'll ever get!"
Mind returning to Ryan's earlier words, the duo's own unify with his. Understanding completely now, her confused demeanor slowly shifts into a smile of her own.
"I understand. However, I'll be neither a crewmate nor a little sister, zura." In a quick motion, she snatches both the cushion and pillow to toss it back striking their faces with precision. "I'll take you both on! As the one who maintains order!" Reaching for a nearby pillow, she takes a ready stance at the two.
"... Heh, it seems we've underestimated her,Relon."
"Then again, she's underestimated us, You."
Nodding, both regroup to poise their weapons at the first year.
"Can you handle… the both of us?!"
"Zura!"
Relon had failed to recall the sheer chaos a pillow fight held. One minute, it was he and You versus Hanamaru, the next, a defeated You had double crossed him which led to his eventual demise.
Panting, all three can be seen sprawled out on the messy futon. Both girls uncaringly huddled up against him. Something he would not at all complain about.
"You're… strong, Hanamaru-chan, haha…"
"Traitor…" Relon snorts out.
"Haha, oops."
"Teehee, thank you zura. I learned from the best." At her words, she nuzzles closer to the male.
Yep, definitely had no complaints.
"I taught you well, young one."
"Hehe, thank you master!"
Rolling her eyes at the sibling antics, a thought from earlier arises.
"Hey, Hanamaru-chan."
"Zura?"
"You like idols, don't you?"
Taken aback by her words, he had noticed how distressed said girl had become earlier but he wasn't planning to bring the topic up until later. Given it's You who's done it, he'd just let them engage until he felt he needed to voice his opinion.
Watching the girl become completely taken aback, she slowly sits up to hug her legs, seemingly in thought. The only answer comes in the form of a small nod.
"Idols were…" She begins. "What I looked forward to the most, zura." Eyeing one another, You sits up as both look on. "When I was little, I didn't have any friends so my parents wouldn't let me wander the city. Because of our duties at the shrine, I never got to experience a concert first hand. All I could do was read about them. And… I was happy. The sheer happiness visitors exhibited at the shrine because of idols was mesmerizing, zura. Reading about the history of idols and what those of the past generation accomplished left me captivated beyond words. Yet… seeing not just Numazu, but all of Japan, even parts of the world, ache in sadness over the law… it hurts, zura. Not only was our sight taken away from performances, but the ill knowledge was casted aside for a reason we still do not know."
"Don't worry!"
Snapped from her self loathing, her head snaps up to You. The female protagonist in question sporting a smile brimming with confidence.
"Idols will return! You'll be able to see a concert in person before you know it, Hanamaru-chan!"
"... How?" She murmurs out, whipping at a teary eye. "How can you be so sure?" Smirking, she rises to her feet with hands at her waist.
"A certain someone once told me when I was down in the dumps that we simply have to be patient." At her comment, Hanamaru looks at Relon. "A time where we all can enjoy idols again. When it does, we just have to grab it and never let go!"
"Do you… really think so, zura?"
"We know so." She winks. "Right?"
"Mhmm." Is all he hums.
"You-senpai… Rel-oniichan…" She murmurs, her bottled emotions finally bursting to hug her fellow female. "Thank you!"
"Haha, there's the cheery Hanamaru we know and love!"
"I love you both, zura!"
Neighborhood
"Ahh, that was a nice day out." You lets out as the two can be seen now traversing the neighborhood having dropped off a happy Hanamaru.
"You did good earlier."
"Oh? You make it sound like I'm the apprentice." She remarks with droopy eyes.
"You know what I mean, silly." He responds with an eye roll. "Seriously."
"Compared to you, I didn't do as much for her." She sighs, resting her arms behind her back. "Speaking out on her behalf, taking her to practically an all-you-can-eat buffet, not to mention you literally saved her life in a sense. Both metaphorically and literally."
"Don't cut yourself short. Let's just agree we both helped. Deal?"
"Hmmm. Fine." She relents for him to catch a smirk grace her features as she moves to his right side before clinging to his arm. "But only if I can have my right side until we get home. You don't have an issue with that, do you?" She grins a cheeky smile pulling his arm closer to her chest.
"You already know I don't." He musters out through his blush.
"Oh? Considering you had two beautiful girls clinging to you earlier, I figured one wouldn't be enough~."
"I shall neither admit nor deny such a claim. I am a guy after all. Still…"
"Still what?"
"Even though we're not together as a couple, moments like these…" He pauses to adjust his right arm to hold her hand. "Sure makes it feel like we are. And I wouldn't ask for anything else." He smiles giving a soft squeeze of her hand.
Watching her face explode into a red mess, the teaser quickly goes quiet adopting a happy face. Feeling her slowly stop, he does so looking at her with a raised brow.
"You?"
"That's not fair, Relon." She mutters lifting to reveal blue eyes reflecting the moonlight. "Saying something like that… may make me fall for you more…"
Feeling his heart resonate from her calm though heartfelt words, he meets her longing gaze. Despite being in the middle of the neighborhood district with walls on both sides, no lampposts were nearby giving only the moon itself their company. Even then, he could see it clearly. No. He could feel her emotions and he was sure the same was being felt by her. Their jovial mood was shifting to something else.
Slowly leaning forward so their noses touch, neither flinch as their foreheads gently press against the other. Easing their dropped bags to the ground, he allows his now free hand to move towards her waist holding it tenderly. As he does, she relinquishes her hold on his arm to rest her palms atop his chest.
"I could say the same, You. If you keep looking at me like that, I won't be able to hold myself back much less keep my word."
He's had the privilege of holding her before but this was the first time he'd gotten the opportunity to hold her like this while she was in her uniform. The loose sailor top making his thumb run across her skin only increased the temptation by the second.
"Just a little more." She urges as her hands gently tighten against his shirt. "While it's just us…." She whispers pressing into him. In doing so, she feels the slight bulge from his pants.
"You…" He forces out in a hitched breath though she doesn't back away instead pressing more against him.
"Please…"
Giving in to the temptation of lust, his trembling hands having trod the line between the hem of her sailor top and her skirt venture upwards. Taking her soft stomach, he mentally ingrains every inch of it. From the bottom to her cute belly button.
"Ah…" She gasps out to reach her hands up clasping his face.
In doing so, he stops to take in a breath he had unconsciously held in. Feeling his hands stop their ascent, she slowly peers her sultry eyes at his.
Body rushing over from the sheer intimacy, he pushes on. His hands were halfway to their objective. He wouldn't blue ball himself now.
"You…" He whispers, a soft tenderness enveloping his voice for her longing mouth to lift into a smile of equal affection.
Nuzzling the other's nose, his hands feel the soft sensation of cotton. Her lips were right before him. He wanted desperately to take them and claim her as his own. He wanted to experience a true life with her as his girlfriend by his side. He wanted her. He didn't want any other man to have her. Whether selfish or something else, he wanted her to continue to rely on him. He wanted to be the one to come to her rescue whenever she was in need. He cared for You. So much mere words couldn't describe it and yet… he had taken away the chance for them to become what she may have wanted from the start since reuniting.
Ever since then, they've had moments but never anything like this. The signs to such affection were there on both ends but now… it was clearly in the open. The pent up feelings from their moments together whether it be of wholesomeness or his male hormones were now out in the open and his own manhood desperate for air was currently being gripped between her voluptuous thighs. Every few seconds shuffling which only made the situation more dire for himself.
This experience was a first for him as it was for her. Retaining his sense was the most difficult thing for Relon. He couldn't tell if the same was the case for You. He was keenly aware of where his hands were but the world around them felt like a blur.
The world around them didn't matter. Right now, she was his world and he was hers.
Tracing the bottom of her bra from the front to the back to feel his clasp, it takes all of his remaining sense to not make an attempt to unclasp it. Returning to the front, he dares not wait another second.
Carefully, his fingers do a once over until he feels the straps leading to her shoulders. Feeling her hot breath make contact with his skin, he can only lean more into her with her back against the street's wall.
"Don't tease me, Rel…" She whispers as her thighs knead his covered member.
Something about calling his name with one syllable sent a feeling of euphoria through his being. No one had ever said his name like that but hearing the girl he harbored feelings for in the given moment; it was hot and alluring to the fifth degree.
Obeying, his hands gently cup her breasts. Basking in the shape fitting perfectly as if they were meant for his hands, he feels her own hands pull back to stifle the sounds coming from her. In response, his index and middle finger instinctively begin to trace the area of fat not covered.
"S-Sorry..." He musters out to force back a grunt as her thighs' work continues relentlessly.
At this rate, he'd reach his limit and by the look on her face so would You.
Common sense barely hanging on, he forces himself to take a gulp before speaking.
"If this continues…" He begins for his voice to die out. Given the subtle nod, she understood.
Shifting his hand at different angles to get a feel, his mind wanted him so desperately to pull her top off so he could see his world directly instead of behind such frustrating fabric. Finding a middle line with his hormones, his eyes goes to You. The girl, having quickly noticed something was up as he moved his head to the side of her face.
"I can't kiss you directly but I hope this will suffice." Despite his own shock at getting the whole sentence out, the muffled gasp that follows from his lips planting themself on her neck .
Instantly, her hands used for covering the alluring sounds she exhibited were discarded to instead pull his head closer.
"Be careful… H-Hicky…" Nodding, he leaves a trail of soft kisses as he shifts to the other side.
Lips and hands working in tandem at the relentless assault, her muffled moans of pleasure bring out a new feeling he hadn't known before. Despite feeling like he was on the offensive, so too was You. Her years as a swimmer had developed her thighs nicely and given she was still moving them since they began, he could only guess that her muscles could go for longer. Feeling her hands ravage the back of his head felt good as well. It allowed him to keep what little sense he had left.
Finally pulling his lips away, their eyes meet once more. Neither caring about the flushed visaged on either, You's the one to lean forward feinting past to capture an ear. Hissing in pleasure at the newfound technique, he has to momentarily stop as his mind basks in the sensation. Careful not to harm his ears, more like a child than anything, she nibbles around the outer rim before tracing the inside with her tongue to eventually settle on his lobule. Eyes having practically rolled back in sheer ecstasy, he leans his head for her to capture as much of himself as she can. At the same time, his hands once again return to the addicting touch of his crush's breasts.
Temptation resurfacing, he traces over the cups bordering her skin.
Acting upon such, his thumbs shift to the middle of her covered breasts where the slightest hint of a mound can be felt. Hearing her own voice hitch for a moment, she quickly continues her own assault shifting to the other ear.
"Rel…!" She wines in a husky voice, her warm breath entering his ear only making him more aroused.
Giving one last of everything, they stop. Using the other for support, their tired breaths sound out as both finally take notice of their beating hearts. Relinquishing his touch from her chest, he eases his hands down and out to embrace her.
Feeling her nuzzle into the crook of his neck, they stay like that for what seems like minutes. Content in the other's touch.
"Sorry." She voices to his mild surprise.
It only took a moment to understand why she'd say something like that.
"Don't be." Feeling the lingering lust overtake in a caring way, his hands snake under her top to hold her bare lower back. "Moments like these are enough." He recites to which she immediately realizes his words.
Peering up to look longing at him once more, he nuzzles her nose as their foreheads touch once again.
"For now?" She breathes out a chortle.
"For now."
