LOCATION: Beacon Academy - Courtyard
Izuku settled into the grassy patch of the courtyard with the lively chatter of Team RWBY and Team JNPR. The sun cast a warm glow over the group, creating a perfect atmosphere for their lunch break. Ruby, bubbling with enthusiasm, had orchestrated this impromptu gathering, eager to strengthen their bonds. As they unpacked their lunches, Weiss rolled her eyes playfully at Ruby's excitement, while Yang chuckled, tossing a sandwich to Blake, who caught it effortlessly. Meanwhile, Nora animatedly recounted their last class with Professor Port, gesturing wildly, causing laughter to erupt among her teammates.
Izuku couldn't help but smile as he listened to their banter, grateful for this moment of camaraderie amidst their busy schedules. The courtyard buzzed with energy, a sanctuary where friendships flourished, and the stresses of classes faded away, if only for a little while. All the while he disclosed to Ruby's teammates and Team JNPR the intricacies of his world and the chronicles of his life before arriving at Remnant.
Izuku delved deeper into the intricacies of Japan's Superhuman Society, painting a vivid picture of his origins and the profound bond he shared with his mother. He shared anecdotes from his childhood, illustrating moments of joy and struggle, particularly highlighting his rivalry and friendship with Bakugo. His time at U.A. High was filled with challenges and camaraderie, shaped significantly by the mentorship of All Might, a figure he revered.
As he recounted his journey, he reflected on the scars—both physical and emotional—that had marked his path. He spoke of a formidable villain, an ancient being whose malevolence had loomed over his world for centuries. With unwavering determination, he and his friends had banded together, strategizing and risking everything to confront this darkness, ultimately triumphing and restoring hope to their society.
His audience remained captivated throughout his storytelling. Particularly Weiss, who diligently noted every significant detail. Her focus mirrored the weight of Izuku's experiences, as she understood the importance of preserving these narratives for future generations, recognizing the resilience and bravery that defined their lives as heroes.
An uncomfortable silence permeated the air by the time Izuku was finished narrating his story.
"So, what do you all think?" Izuku asked, looking between Team RWBY and Team JNPR.
Ruby's friends and Team JNPR exchanged glances before shifting their gaze back at Izuku.
"Wow, Izuku. That is…that's a lot to take in," Yang commented, scratching the back of her head.
"I can't believe it," Jaune admitted softly. "The multiverse is real? Heh, never thought I would live to learn about that."
"It is quite shocking to hear," Ren agreed, nodding his head.
"Right?!" Nora shouted excitedly.
Blake took a sip of her drink before looking back at Izuku.
"Your story is both inspiring and amazing, Izuku," Blake said. "After seeing the things you could do, it makes sense how unorthodox you are."
Pyrrha nodded in agreement.
"I like the final section of your story; how you and all your friends dedicated everything to protecting others and bringing peace," Pyrrha said, smiling at him. "United together to fight the great evil that has plagued darkness in your society. It is truly inspiring."
Weiss raised her hand.
"As amazing as it is, I still have some questions," Weiss stated, turning her curious gaze toward Izuku. "You said your world doesn't utilize dust, correct?"
"Yeah," Izuku replied.
"Then what sort of power source does your world use?" Weiss prodded.
"Well, in my world we globally get the largest amount of our energy from oil, followed by coal, gas, and hydroelectric power," Izuku answered. Weiss began scribbling down more notes in her notebook.
"Very nice." Blake was impressed.
"Um, I have a question." Jaune raised his hand. "What was that one power you used against that thing back in the Emerald Forest? You know, the one you used to pull it up in the air?"
Izuku blinked. "Oh, you mean this?"
Multiple energy tendrils of Blackwhip suddenly sprouted from Izuku's back. Everyone stared in awe at said tendrils, mouths agape. The tendrils swayed around Izuku in a graceful spiral pattern, mesmerizing everyone around him into silent admiration.
"This is the fifth user's Quirk: Blackwhip," Izuku explained. "It is a top-grade Quirk; It's useful for capturing enemies, and increasing one's mobility by grabbing onto objects. It grants the user the ability to produce energy tendrils from any part of their body and command them at will. This Quirk is also powered by emotions, primarily anger, meaning the greater the anger, the stronger the Quirk becomes."
Everyone absorbed the information quietly. They continued to stare at the tendrils, enraptured by their movements. Ruby was the most captivated as she held out her hand, her fingers curled around the tendril closest to her. She watched as it twisted slowly around in her hand, as though alive, fascinated by its fluidity.
"So cool," Ruby breathed, entranced by this unusual quirk.
"What about the other one?" Yang asked, looking at Izuku curiously. "I saw your leg glowing red in the video during the exam."
"That one is the third user's Quirk: Fa-Jin," Izuku revealed. "It allows me to build up kinetic energy by performing repetitive movements, emitting red-colored glowing energy, and storing it for later use. When I choose to release the energy, I gain an explosive burst of speed and power. I can also use the energy with any part of my body. However, I can only choose some of the stored energy at a time, allowing me to achieve multiple bursts of speed and power. Fa-Jin can also be applied to other Quirks, increasing the power behind them as well as diversifying my moveset."
"Oooou, how fast are we talking?" Nora inquired, leaning forward.
"Well, with the correct angle I can utilize enough burst of speed to move faster than a speeding bullet," Izuku said.
"What?!" Ruby, Weiss, Jaune, Yang, Blake, Pyrrha, and Nora exclaimed in unison, eyes widening.
Ren stared wide-eyed at Izuku.
"That's an impressive feat," Ren remarked.
"I knew you were fast, but I didn't think you could move that fast!" Ruby exclaimed.
Izuku chuckled whilst rubbing the back of his head. Nana Shimura couldn't help but chuckle at the children's reactions, shaking her head in amusement. Even Daigoro found Team RWBY and Team JNPR's reactions amusing, chuckling as well.
"That crosses out two of your Quirks. Which leaves four of your other abilities," Weiss commented, jotting down some additional notes. Izuku tilted his head.
"Uh, Weiss? You know you don't have to do that," Izuku protested. "This isn't a lesson."
Weiss looked back at him.
"I know, but all this information you're relaying to me will provide me something to think about," Weiss countered. "Besides, I'll need some time, and going over all these will help. So far what you've told us seems like a very interesting concept, one worth exploring further. So what about the four other Quriks?"
Everyone looked at Izuku expectantly. The latter took a deep breath to collect his thoughts.
"The next on the list is the second user's Quirk: Gearshift," Izuku began explaining. "It allows me to change the speed at which things accelerate through space. It is even capable of changing speeds while ignoring the laws of inertia. Initially, the Meta Ability was only capable of working on small objects. However, after melding with One For All, Gearshift has greatly evolved in power to the point where it is difficult to control and thus has been designated as a last resort. The Quirk itself can dramatically accelerate the speed of things as big as the entire human body with great effect until it leaves a sonic boom and creates massive impact strength if it hits the target. However, the strain of using the Quirk is also so great that I could only use it for five minutes before the effects incapacitated me."
"Are there any setbacks in using this power?" Pyrrha asked.
"One of the setbacks of using Gearshift in its current empowered form for too long without rest is that my body will not receive enough oxygen to properly function," Izuku replied, causing everyone's eyes to widen once again in surprise. "If used more than once after the initial five minutes, the blowback will be twice as greater than the previous as it may cause intense pain to the body, rendering the user nearly paralyzed."
Ruby's countenance became concerned at the mention of the severity of having severe injuries.
"Is that what happened to you when you used it?" Ruby asked, her tone laced with concern.
Izuku nodded his head.
"Yeah," Izuku replied. "It was my last resort to keep up with Shigaraki. With a semblance of hope that it'll end the battle quickly."
Izuku shifted his gaze back at the others.
"Danger Sense is the fourth user's Quirk," Izuku continued. "This Quirk allows me to detect any potential threats in the surrounding area, thus allowing me to properly react to them quickly. It is also able to sense one's intent and their negative emotions. Against enemies, Danger Sense is triggered by their intentions of threat and malice."
"Huh." Jaune thought about it for a moment. "That sounds pretty handy. It kinda reminds me of Arachno-Man's power."
"Arachno-Man?" Izuku echoed, arching a brow at the blonde boy.
"Yeah, he's a superhero starring in his comic book series: Arachno-Man," Jaune elaborated. "He has the same type of power you have, one that allows him to sense danger."
Ruby beamed with excitement upon hearing this information.
"Oh, I read that comic book too!" Ruby exclaimed excitedly.
"Really?" Jaune seemed surprised.
"Yeah, I've collected all thirty-five issues; I even got the thirty-sixth before it was released to the public!" Ruby gushed happily. "He's so cool!"
"Yeah, I know," Jaune agreed, grinning proudly.
Weiss cleared her throat. Ruby and Jaune both turned to look at her, finding the latter narrowing her eyes at the pair. The heiress jerked her head towards Izuku, silently reminding Jaune and Ruby to pay attention to the young narrator.
"Oh, sorry," Ruby apologized sheepishly. Izuku grinned lightly.
"It's okay," Izuku assured, smiling at the pair.
"Please, continue," Jaune requested, gesturing his hand to Izuku. Izuku obliged with a nod.
"As useful as Danger Sense is, it does have a few flaws," Izuku explained. "It takes a large toll on my body depending on the threat it senses, although this may be a result of the Quirk being strengthened by One For All. But this drawback doesn't adversely affect me anymore. Sufficiently fast attacks can also prevent me from being able to properly dodge them."
"Then there's Smokescreen: the sixth user's quirk. It basically allows me to generate a thick cloud of purple smoke from my body. The smoke can be spread to cover a very wide area; this serves as a way to obscure the vision of my opponents and catch them by surprise. If too much smoke is released, I'll have difficulty navigating through the thick haze, and it can backfire if my opponent manages to get the drop on me. This Quirk also has no offensive potential, and it can't be raised to the Ultimate Move level. Smokescreen cannot spread very far in humid environments such as rain. The smoke can also be dispelled through powerful shockwaves."
"This is getting boring," Yang remarked, yawning over her hand.
"Well, I find all this very interesting," Pyrrha countered. Ruby nodded in agreement.
"Me too. It's kinda like those fantasy games where you meet a shopkeeper NPC in a store who'll explain all the skills to you if you poke them," Ruby recalled, smiling. "How can you have fun in the game if you don't know how things work?"
"That does make sense," Blake conceded, nodding.
"So that one more Quirk," Weiss stated, shifting her gaze back at Izuku. "What's the last one?"
Izuku took a sip of his juice before subconsciously deactivating Blackwhip. The energized tendrils fade away out of existence, and Izuku places his juice back down at his side. He shifts his gaze back at his friends.
"Last on the list is the seventh predecessor's Qurik: Float. It simply allows me to levitate and suspend myself in mid-air," Izuku answered. "With the added enhancement of the stockpiled energy from One For All, Float becomes drastically more powerful, allowing me to fly at high speeds. It's actually how I was able to fly me, Ruby, and Weiss over towards the Forest Temple back in the entrance exam."
Nora whistles in surprise.
"Whoa…" Jaune murmured in awe.
"That's a lot of power for one person," Pyrrha commented.
"By the way you describe them, there are at least seven predecessors in total," Weiss surmised, earning a nod from Izuku.
"Right," Izuku confirmed.
"Were they alive when they passed their Quirks down to you?" Weiss inquired.
Izuku frowned slightly at that question.
"No, none of them were," he replied flatly. "They were killed in battle by All for one."
Everyone's countenance visibly paled as they absorbed what was just said. Silence settled among the beacon students for a bit before Izuku continued.
"But I inherited their powers through One for All, and unlocked them later down the line," Izuku stated.
Jaune glanced down at the ground with bewilderment.
"There's still one thing that confuses me," Jaune remarked, lifting his head to gaze back at Izuku. "You said you lost One for All through your battle with Shigaraki and All for One, right?"
"Yes," Izuku confirmed.
"Then how did you get it back?" Jaune questioned further. The rest of Team JNPR and Team RWBY turned their gaze towards Izuku, curious at how he came to recover his power.
Recollections of the battle with Shigaraki emerged as Izuku's memory resurfaced from his consciousness. He remembered charging forward with his fist, and Shigaraki raising his until both of their fists connected. But not with their knuckles but to All for one's last barrier. Essentially destroying said barrier with brute force, and finally destroying All for one's vessel completely.
"He must've given the power back to me the moment our fists collided. Without me even knowing," Izuku concluded, gazing at his hand in recollection. "For what reason? I'll never know. But either way, I'm grateful that he did. Because this power is more than just something I wield; it's a part of me, and when I gave up my power at that moment, I really thought I was gonna lose it forever."
Silence settled amongst them once again, only to be broken after some time.
"So, what are you going to do now?" Nora asked, tilting her head curiously. Izuku redirected his gaze back at the group.
"Well, Ozpin gave me the green light to continue my hero duties in Vale," Izuku answered. "And while I would gladly do so, I'd also love to see more of this world and travel around Remnant, help and save people with a smile."
Ruby smiled brightly at the idea. She placed her hand on Izuku's hand, causing him to shift his gaze toward her.
"Even though you're far away from home, our home in Remnant is your home now, Izuku," Ruby stated softly, squeezing Izuku's free hand reassuringly. "And you have friends who'll always have your back."
Izuku smiled back at her.
"Thank you, Ruby," he thanked.
Everyone smiled at the scene between the two. Yang clapped her hands together when an idea popped into her mind.
"Hey, you know what? I've been thinking; we should have your aura unlocked," Yang declared with excitement glimmering in her eyes. Izuku blinked in surprise.
"Wait, really?" Izuku asked, surprised.
"Yup! It'll be really handy for you when you're in battle," Yang explained, grinning widely at the boy.
"But would it really work? I mean, he's not from our world," Jaune mentioned.
"I second that," Weiss agreed. "In the books, aura flows in every living being on Remnant. But Izuku is not from here. So the chances of manifesting his aura is highly unlikely."
"True, but this isn't exactly common knowledge. I doubt the same will apply to him unless we try," Blake pointed out.
"Yeah, Weiss. We won't know if he can or can't manifest his aura unless we try," Nora argued.
Ren nodded in agreement.
"It is worth a shot," Ren added.
Ruby turned her gaze back to Izuku.
"Well, what do you say, Izuku?" Ruby asked. The rest of Team RWBY and JNPR all looked at the young boy expectantly.
After a moment of contemplation, Izuku smiled and nodded his head in affirmation.
"Okay. I'll give it a try," Izuku declared. Yang grinned.
"Alright!" Yang exclaimed.
Pyrrha stood up on her feet.
"In that case, I'll assist in unlocking your aura," Pyrrha proposed, walking towards Izuku. The latter stood up on his feet as well. "Now, close your eyes, and concentrate."
Izuku nodded. "Okay."
Izuku slowly closed his eyes. His entire body relaxed, and his breathing became slower. Pyrrha also closed her eyes, concentrating hard. Removing herself far from the world and focusing only on him and what she was about to do. She reached out to touch Izuku's cheek with one hand and began manipulating her aura with the other. A red energy field manifested over Izuku's body, causing everyone to stare in awe.
The sight was both breathtaking and mesmerizing.
Pyrrha's eyes shot wide and gasped as if awakening from a dream. Her sudden reaction caused the red energy field to dissipate, and everyone was left staring at her with confusion written across all their faces. Said confusion turned into concern when Pyrrha stumbled backward, clutching her heart with one hand. Jaune got up just in time to catch Pyrrha before she fell and held her upright as she breathed heavily. Izuku opened his eyes in alarm when he saw the Pyrrha's state.
"Pyrrha?! What's wrong?" Jaune asked worriedly.
"Agh…" Pyrrha groaned weakly.
"Pyrrha, are you alright?" Izuku asked, stepping forward cautiously.
Izuku extended his arm towards Pyrrha in a gesture of comfort. But he stopped midway upon seeing his hand suddenly shrouded in an emerald flame. He glanced down at his left leg, and saw flames materializing over his feet, crawling up to his anterior shin. Ruby noticed the flames around parts of Izuku's limbs and quickly stepped forward whilst outstretching her hand.
"Izuku!" Ruby cried alarmedly.
Izuku immediately outstretched his hand.
"Stay back, Ruby!" Izuku ordered urgently.
The emerald flames instantly engulfed Izuku's person without warning. Although it didn't burn his skin or hero suit, it did cause Izuku to grimace in agony and pain. He retreated backward, held his head with both hands and groaned in pain. Team RWBY and Team JNPR watched in pure worry as Izuku's body slowly illuminated in a bright emerald hue.
"HAAAAAAAAAA!"
Izuku leaped in the air and hovered midair. He pulled his arms to his side, bawled both of his fists tightly, and lifted his head. Letting out a powerful, echoing cry to the heavens. An explosion of emerald light erupted from his body and expanded outward, outside of Beacon Academy, as well as the city of Vale.
But it didn't stop there.
The citizens of Vale stopped in their tracks when they saw light rushing towards them. Lisa Lavender, her crew, a couple of police officers, and the citizens watched in awe before covering themselves when the colossal wall of light shined over them. It even went out into the wilderness as all the animals and the Creatures of Grimm from the surrounding land took notice of the emerald light. It would soon expand and consume them. All the animals and wildlife were unharmed as the light passed by them. But all of the Grimm that were once present had vanished completely: Beowolves, Ursa, Creeps, Nevermores, Goliaths, Death Stalkers, Boarbatusks, Griffins, Taijitus, all of them.
They all disappeared. Even any Grimm pool that was nearby, once the light passed over it, the black liquid was gone.
Leaving only an empty hole.
Taiyang Xiaolong stood outside of his home. Mug of coffee in hand, he gazed upon the clear blue sky with a smile gracing his lips. However, his happy mood was short-lived as he looked with wide eyes upon a bright light that was shining out well past the forest and making its way towards his home.
He dropped his coffee and instinctively covered himself as well.
The brilliant emerald light radiated outward from the eastern horizon of Sanus, creating a mesmerizing circular pattern that illuminated the landscape below. As it spread, the light cast shimmering reflections across the ocean, creating a breathtaking spectacle that captivated all who witnessed it. The glow reached its zenith as it approached the shores of the continents of Anima and Solitas, gently brushing against their coastlines. Meanwhile, the western edge of Sanus felt the light's presence as it neared Vacuo, while the peculiar dragon-shaped landmass remained largely untouched, its rugged terrain absorbing the brilliance without significant alteration. The entire scene was a stunning juxtaposition of natural beauty and otherworldly phenomena.
Leaving a lasting impression on the inhabitants of Sanus.
Underneath Beacon Academy laid the slumbering fall maiden. When the emerald light expanded and shined over her inside the machine, the fatal wounds from her face slowly healed and closed up. Her dark skin returned to its smooth, youthful perfection. It was as though she was never inflicted with those ugly scars at all. After a few minutes, her chest rose and fell rhythmically once more.
Amber shot her eyes wide and sharply inhaled air in her lungs.
The emerald light speeds fast towards the Branwen tribe's campsite. As the light surged rapidly towards the campsite, a sense of foreboding filled the air. Raven Branwen, alongside Vernal and multiple bandits, stood frozen in a mix of awe and trepidation. They instinctively shielded their eyes as the colossal wall of light enveloped them, casting an otherworldly glow that seemed to pulse with energy. The brilliant luminescence stretched far beyond their immediate surroundings, reaching into distant villages, where it engulfed everything in its path. Yet, despite the overwhelming spectacle, there was an unsettling calmness; the light consumed without causing harm, leaving the onlookers both mesmerized and anxious about what this phenomenon could mean for their future.
Raven brought her arm back to her side and gazed up at the sky in wonderment.
Qrow Branwen brought his arm back to his side. He stood at the center of a small village, where every man, woman, and child uncovered themselves when the light had faded away. The air was filled with whispers from every individual in the area, chatting about the weird anomaly that came upon them.
"What in the world was that?" An elderly villager asked Qrow, glancing at him.
Qrow looked over his shoulder to where the light had gone off. His countenance plastered with bewilderment and wonder before replying to the old man.
"I have no idea."
Cinder Fall awoke from her sleep with a loud cough. She rolled off her bed, coughing and hacking up blood whilst on her back. Her body spasms as she hacks up more blood from her mouth. With one last cough, she spits out a beetle Grimm that flew into the air before disintegrating into black particles. Her eyes rolled behind her head and fell unconscious, unaware that the maiden powers she stole gracefully left her body from her belly.
The essence of the fall maiden shoots out from an open window and soars forward.
Salem's heart raced as she stood on her balcony. Disbelief washed over her like a cold wave. The sky above felt alien, devoid of the familiar presence of the Grimm that once thrived on the eastern side of Sanus. A sense of dread gripped her as she reached out, desperate to feel the connection to her loyal pets, but there was nothing—an eerie silence where their essence once pulsed. The realization struck her like lightning; the presence of the Grimm had been utterly extinguished as if they had never existed. Even the bond she shared with Cinder, the Beetle that carried the essence of Maiden powers, had vanished into the void, leaving her isolated and vulnerable in a world that suddenly felt much emptier.
It was gone too.
"Impossible…" Salem breathed, her tone laced with disbelief.
The scene felt eerily reminiscent of the past when celestial forces had eradicated humanity from existence. Yet, this time, it was the Grimm wreaking havoc. The sheer thought that a significant portion of their kind—nearly half of a containment unit—along with their origins, had been obliterated sent waves of anxiety coursing through her. It wasn't merely loss that she felt; it was a deep, seething rage that bubbled beneath the surface, igniting her determination to confront whatever had caused this devastation. She clenched the railing of her balcony so tightly that it shattered.
Salem doesn't know what or who caused this.
But they are a threat to her plans now.
Team RWBY and Team JNPR couldn't turn their gaze away from the transformed state of Midoriya Izuku they called their friend. They had never seen anything like this before. Even Ozpin and Glynda, who were nearby upon noticing Izuku's state, couldn't comprehend what they were seeing. Izuku gracefully landed back on the earth's floor, shrouded by manifesting energy that flashed in different colors:
White.
Orange.
Magenta.
Green.
Red.
Blue.
Purple.
Yellow.
And Emerald.
Izuku stared at his hands as he flexed his fingers. Slowly lifting his head, staring back at his friends in shock.
"Pyrrha, this isn't normal, is it?" Jaune asked, his shocked gaze still focused on Midoriya.
Pyrrha shook her head while replying slowly.
"No. That's not normal."
A/N: Well, there you have it young readers. Hope you all enjoyed today's thirteenth chapter! Midoriya Izuku has finally had his aura manifested. But as you all have read, it wasn't in the way everyone expected it would go. This is due to the fact that Izuku has eight souls within his shell of a body; because of this, it has caused Midoriya's own aura to transform into both a mutation and new evolution that I'm officially calling Super Aura. An aura more powerful than average. I wanted to add a little tease of the next arc in this chapter, but due to my health I've decided to save that in the next chapter. With all of that said, I'll be taking my leave.
See you all in the next chapter, young readers!
