Musutafu, Japan
After flying over the streets for roughly two minutes, Stinkfly continued to carry Kevin through the sky until they took refuge from an arcade. The arcade was less active than usual, possibly due to it being the weekend. Kevin shielded his eyes when a sudden burst of red light momentarily blinded him and illuminated the arcade's facade. Fortunately, there weren't many passersby at the arcade's entrance to be dazzled by the intense glow of the omnitrix. Kevin's eyes widened briefly as he saw Izuku replace the large insect that had been in his spot just a moment before.
"Whoa... do you have a transformation quirk?" Kevin questioned.
"Well... sort of. This watch on my wrist can let me transform into creatures and let me use their quirks." Izuku awkwardly explained.
"Interesting. That's pretty cool." Kevin stated, "I wish I had that quirk..." Kevin thought.
"Um... do you have a quirk?" Izuku stumbled. "Maybe he doesn't?" Izuku anxiously thought.
"Yeah, I do. I like keeping it a surprise for people," Kevin replied.
"How come? Having a quirk is something to be proud of," Izuku explained.
"I guess, but seeing people act cocky until I use my absorbing quirk and then seeing them panic is one of the best things ever," Kevin added.
As the two conversed, another guest who noticed them and approached cut their dialogue short. He wore a jacket, and his blonde hair had a black streak.
"Oh, hey, what are your guys' names? I'm Denki," Denki Kaminari confidently said.
Unbeknownst to Kaminari and Izuku, Kevin could sense quirks and suspected that Kaminari was on his way. Kevin's gaze fixed on Kaminari, drawn to the sleekness of Kaminari's jacket.
"Nice, jacket. So, what's your quirk?" Kevin stood a little closer to Kaminari.
"Kind of direct there, but it's electricity," Kaminari explained.
"Cool, that's one of my favorite powers," Kevin exclaimed.
"It is a pretty cool quirk. You got good taste, dude." Kaminari complimented.
"I also love explosions. They're so cool." Kevin formed a grin after a small chuckle.
Kevin, occasionally delving into comic books, always regarded electricity as one of the coolest abilities because of its versatility and the vibrant, stunning visuals it often displays.
"A childhood friend of mine has a quirk that gives him explosive abilities," Izuku added.
"Whoa, that's awesome. I hope I can meet him one day." Kevin had a slightly mischievous grin.
"So... how about we quit standing around out here and play some video games?" Kaminari suggested.
Kevin and Izuku both offered a smile in return, yet Kevin was discernibly broader than Izuku's, suggesting he might have had an ulterior motive. Kevin, Izuku, and Kaminari entered the arcade with enthusiasm.
"I got the best high score and nobody else can best me, by the way," Kaminari announced the door swung open, and a cacophony of sounds from the various arcade machines filled the space, echoing off the walls. Suddenly, as Izuku and Kaminari walked side by side, Kevin's gaze fell upon a door that appeared to be restricted. Kevin swiveled his head right and left, he realized that he wasn't near Izuku or Kaminari, which gave him a boost in his scheme. Various arcade machines captured the attention of all the guests and patrons in the arcade. They must be full of coins as well, right? Kevin knew that and just needed a distraction and put his stealth skills to work.
Kevin was sneakily dodging through various patrons and successfully managed to not arouse suspicion or bump into anyone. Kevin saw his opening act with the door being alone. Kevin was practically invisible compared to the other people around the place. The owner was busy checking on his employees in their break area. Kevin never had a higher chance than now. Kevin pressed his hand on the door and felt his arms become coated in the same metallic material as the door. Kevin easily pushed it open with his enhanced strength and made his way inside the room.
There were various levers, buttons, and other objects on the walls. Kevin's eyes scanned his surroundings and instantly spotted the panel that controlled every possible part of power in the area. Kevin maliciously smiled as he got closer to the panel with every step. Kevin harshly placed his hand on the panel's surface. The red light flashed, and seconds later, it stopped completely, almost as if the power grid had been drained of all electricity. Kevin chuckled a little as he stared at his hand, which sparked a few particles of electricity.
Kevin laughed as he bolted out of the room and successfully made his way to the main hall of the arcade where everyone was gasping. Some were confused, and some were instantly fuming. The precious hours that people spent on the various games racking up high scores were all completely gone. With the lights completely off, the only source of light was the sun shining through the window from outside.
"Time to make some extra cash." Kevin quietly quipped. He instantly knew that he had to act quickly before anyone caught him slipping up on stealing the thousands of quarters into the machines. Kevin clutched the machine's back and used his electricity-charged hand to make the machine burst out a large number of quarters. Before anyone could catch him in the act, he scampered away from the machine while his pockets were full of quarters.
He would stay for more, but any second now, he would get caught by the employees here or the owner himself.
"Oh gosh, where's Kevin?! What happened to the lights?!" Izuku audibly panicked. Kaminari himself looked a little confused, but wasn't as anxious as Izuku. Hardly anyone could reach the same level as Izuku when he's anxious.
"Well, this was an unexpected bust. I guess we can't play games together." Kaminari nonchalantly answered.
"What happened to Kevin? I hope he's okay," Izuku worried.
"What are you talking about? I'm right here," Kevin answered.
"B-but you weren't here before the lights shut off!" Izuku whined.
"I was in the bathroom. I told you guys," Kevin retorted.
"O-oh, I guess I forgot," Izuku replied, his voice trembling a little.
Kaminari shrugged and hitched an idea or two for a hangout spot. He preferred the first one, but he'd fall back on the second if it didn't work.
"So, how about we get out of here and do something fun? I'm getting bored," Kaminari complained as he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his blackened jacket.
"What do you have in mind? Anything would be more fun than here." Kevin replied.
"So, if it's cool with you, Kevin, how about we check out your place? If you don't want to, we can check out mine. It'll take us to a subway tunnel to get there, though," he explained.
"Is it the subway tunnel with two trains that commonly go across? One is full of items and the other is full of people?" Kevin asked.
"Uh... yeah?" Kaminari answered.
"Why do you care about that? It's just a little strange." Izuku replied.
"My dad drives the train full of items and I just thought it was cool to share." Kevin lied.
"Well... okay then, can we just do something fun? I'm getting bored and hungry as well." Kaminari spoke up. Before anyone could respond, he quickly proposed another idea, unaware that Kevin might turn this to his advantage. Kevin was shielding his intentions very well so far. Could he keep it up for longer? He had to if he wanted to gain their trust or even a taste of their quirks.
"So, my favorite burger place is nearby. We can chat on the subway over to it," Kaminari explained.
"That sounds like fun! I'm feeling hungry as well! Come on, Kevin!" Izuku called out, unaware of the cunning intentions Kevin harbored. With a smile masking his motives, Kevin accompanied Kaminari to the subway station, leading them to his preferred burger joint.
"Yeah, I'm coming!" Kevin hollered while racing after the two of them.
Subway Tunnel
The trio stepped into the dimly lit subway, noticing that some lights were not as bright as usual. Nevertheless, they continued on, observing a few passengers already there, awaiting the train.
"Sumo Slammers Classic? That's lame compared to Sumo Slammers: Hero Generation." Kevin stated. Kaminari raised an eyebrow while giving a small chuckle.
"Hey, you can never beat the classics." Kaminari countered.
The subway was significantly less crowded than usual, with fewer than twelve people present. Among them, only two possessed quirks, while the others appeared to be quirkless. However, it was uncommon for them to use their quirks they generally kept to themselves. As these individuals kept to their affairs, Kevin, Kaminari, and Izuku took their time, stepping one by one, meandering as they waited. Kevin observed that at least five minutes remained before the train's arrival; nonetheless, he chose not to wait any longer and proceeded to enact his hidden agenda.
"Oh, this is going to be so cool," Kevin said. He placed his hands on the lever that could divert the tracks. Kevin glanced at his hand and realized he had run out of electricity just as he was about to switch the lever. Yet, a smirk spread as he conceived a new idea.
"Kevin, what are you doing?! You can't just go on a track like that," Kaminari yelled. Kaminari's hair ends fluttered past as he hurried toward Kevin, intent on preventing his new 'friend' from being struck by the approaching train. Despite feeling bewildered and having just met Kevin, Kaminari had no desire to witness him getting hit by the train.
Kaminari's hand connected to Kevin, but rather than following, Kevin pulled him closer, causing a piece of the fabric to tear from the sleeve of his jacket. "Dude, that's custom-made!" Kaminari protested.
Kaminari and Izuku shouted in unison with deep concern, "What are you doing?!" Izuku's eyes widened as he witnessed the situation, and panic surged. Kevin tightened his grip against Kaminari's arm and drained the electricity from his quirk, visibly defeating him. Kaminari's eyes gradually closed as Kevin absorbed his electricity. Kevin's hands were starting to grow a little more yellow by the second and, with ease, he threw Kaminari's tired body to the tracks that the train would arrive on.
"Kaminari! Kevin, why did you do that?!" Izuku shouted with concern. Kevin lifted his gaze from Kaminari and locked eyes with Izuku, responding with a chuckle.
"So, I can do what I need to! Any minute now, a train loaded with cash and jewels will come down and when it crashes into the other train coming, it'll cause the biggest explosion ever down here!"
"What?! Don't you realize that hundreds of innocent people will die?!"
"You know what they say, Midoriya! No pain, no gain!" Kevin responded with a burst of devious laughter.
"I'm not going to let you kill so many people!" Izuku shouted.
"Bring it on, Midoriya. I'll fry your butt," Kevin taunted as he positioned himself over Kaminari's unconscious body.
Faced with a shout, Izuku instinctively raised his arm to select the transformation quirk he needed to use, his other arm holding still so he could slam the device. As the angles of the hourglass symbol sank, the top part lowered as a flashing green light began to fill the entire subway station. This quirk was all too familiar to Izuku.
"You're welcome to try! I won't let you injure so many!" Izuku screamed.
Kevin let out a deep chuckle, extending his hands with fingers splayed, and began to emit sparks of electricity that danced briefly around Izuku's body.
"I got to get Kaminari out of there first, then I can deal with Kevin. Okay, let's provide some cover." Diamondhead told himself.
"What do you call this monster of yours? Something related to rocks?" Kevin taunted.
"I call it Diamondhead and you're done," Diamondhead reacted quickly. Kevin was poised to unleash another bolt of yellow electricity when he saw Diamondhead extend his arm and transform it into a spiky appendage ready to fire tiny darts, catching Kevin off-guard. As Diamondhead prepared to launch them, Kevin retreated slightly, allowing Diamondhead to seize the moment and erect a crystal barrier, granting both himself and Kaminari complete protection.
Kevin immediately felt bewildered and disregarded the crystal structure. As he was about to unleash another electric projectile, he realized that Diamondhead was creating distance between them. Over his shoulder, Diamondhead carried Kaminari's body. Diamondhead positioned Kaminari's body beneath a shield composed entirely of crystals, aiming to prevent any further harm to the still-unconscious Kaminari.
Kevin's expression twisted in frustration upon seeing Diamondhead assume a battle stance. He realized he needed a new strategy. As the minutes ticked by, Kevin sensed Kaminari's electricity quirk fading; the less he used it, the weaker it became. He had to capitalize on it before it completely dissipated and required recharging through another quirk. Kevin immediately assumed a fighting stance, hurling as much electricity as he could in a brief span. He knew that any second now, the train would arrive and crash into the other one; he just needed to buy some time. Diamondhead's eyes fluttered quickly, the air buzzing with electricity, heralding the imminent failure of the lights.
The swarms of electric arcs before him made visibility a challenge. Unbeknownst to him, the darkness that followed was the result of Kevin using the maximum power of Kaminari's quirk, triggering a power outage. Diamondhead possessed only a faintly lit night vision; it was perceptible but not dependable.
"Wait, this is my chance to change the tracks!" As Diamondhead dashed toward the lever, he mused that it normally wouldn't budge. However, his augmented strength allowed him to hear the screech of iron as the track shifted. The blaring horn of an oncoming train on the correct track soon followed. Regrettably, the commotion had driven away all the passengers eager for a ride. It was better to be safe than sorry, of course.
"No! You messed up my big score!" Kevin bellowed in the darkness. Diamondhead retained the unamused expression on his face. He was waiting for Kevin to appear so he could wrap up the current situation.
"Too bad, so sad. I'm not letting you do anything like that again." Diamondhead remained still, circling in place, vigilant for an opportunity to defeat Kevin.
Kevin swiftly jumped from behind and landed on Diamondhead's back. Fortunately, his arm was long enough to reach the chest area where the omnitrix symbol was located. As Kevin's fingers traced the symbol, his arm began to rise, and his veins took on a disturbing green color. His skin began to harden, mimicking the crystalline material of Diamondhead's body. His eyes turned a fiery orange as he felt an intense pressure building along his spine. Kevin fell off Diamondhead's back and rolled to the concrete floor in pain. He was about to stand up, but his entire arms felt like they had extra muscle power.
"What... what happened to you?!" Diamondhead shouted.
"Don't you get it?! I've absorbed that quirk you're using and now have your power." Kevin slurred as his face had a scar across it. It was half human and half whatever Diamondhead was. It was mostly the same only difference was that the other parts of his face, chest, and arm had the same diamond texture as Diamondhead had.
"This is the most painful quirk I've absorbed..." Kevin commented to himself. He stood up and closely faced Diamondhead.
"It doesn't have to be this way. You can stop and I can help you." Diamondhead retorted.
"I don't care. I have this tremendous power now, and I can get anything I want and kill anyone I want. I can kill whoever makes fun of me next!" Kevin shouted in a distorted, heavy voice.
"I promise I won't let anyone do that. I'll be your friend like before." Diamondhead responded.
"You don't get it, do you? I was never your friend. I was using you and thanks to you, I got an upgrade." Kevin responded as he charged and delivered a wicked uppercut to Diamondhead's jaw.
As Diamondhead regained his vision, he saw himself stumbling. He noticed Kevin charging towards him once more. Kevin's grip tightened further, and he delivered a direct hit to Diamondhead's abdomen.
"Agh, that hurt!" Kevin whined.
"But it was so worth it to get a taste of your quirk." Diamondhead rubbed the back of his head and grunted in pain. Diamondhead processed his surroundings, which, unfortunately, remained unchanged. At least his vision was back. Unfortunately, as the train was approaching, Kevin was rushing at him at full speed. Kevin lost his big score, but he sure as hell wasn't going to enjoy using his newfound strength to pummel Diamondhead and then move over to Kaminari.
"Okay, maybe he has a time limit like I do..." Diamondhead thought as he avoided a punch from Kevin, "At least Kaminari is fine." Diamondhead contained.
With Kaminari safeguarded after defeat, Kevin pressed on into the fray. Diamondhead absorbed the forceful punches Kevin delivered, using his arms to shield against the relentless assault. Crystal shards cascaded effortlessly to the ground as Kevin continued his march, maintaining full power even after three minutes of relentless punching—a feat that would normally leave him at roughly three-fifths of his strength.
Kevin covered all his openings from Diamondhead. He kept pushing him back with various punches until Diamondhead fell into the wall and felt several punches against his face and stomach area. Diamondhead visibly had a few cracks on his face, which would turn into bruises or cuts when he reverted to normal.
"Oh, my aching head..." Exhausted, Kaminari released another sigh, this one born of sheer fatigue. He turned to see Kevin relentlessly unleashing a flurry of punches at Diamondhead's arms, head, and torso. Despite Diamondhead's efforts to fend off the blows, Kevin's strength was overwhelming. Clutching his shoulder, Kaminari extended his other hand, fingers outstretched and pointing directly at Kevin, ready to unleash a potent jolt of electricity for a heavy stun.
"Come on, just one well-placed shot," Kaminari took a deep breath, his gaze fixed on Kevin's back, particularly on the human side, which was known for its resilience. After a moment of careful aiming, he unleashed his most potent charged projectile. As it struck, Diamondhead seized the chance to breathe, observing Kevin collapse onto the subway floor with a scream, his eyes tightly closed. Kevin was still breathing, albeit with slight twitches; however, retaining some of Diamondhead's durable texture meant he wouldn't be incapacitated for long.
Kaminari still was underneath the diamond shield constructed by Diamondhead. He needed to save some of his strength since he had just woken from the painful attack of Kevin gripping his arm. Diamondhead held his stomach as he rushed over to Kaminari. Every time Kaminari shifted his left hand, it caused him pain, akin to the searing stab of a knife, almost rendering the limb numb.
Diamondhead knew he should have grabbed Kevin, but Kaminari's condition was alarming—with blood on his arm and face, and his left hand barely moving. Immediate medical attention was necessary, especially with the loud commotion in the subway tunnel signaling the approach of at least one pro hero. Whether Kevin would remain there was an enigma, particularly since he possessed fragments of Diamondhead's texture. All the passengers who departed during the brawl contacted a few police officers to inspect the area.
Regrettably, Kamui Woods was the only pro hero who arrived on time. The rest were either occupied at their agencies, engaged in other significant tasks or were unable to attend. Being the closest, Kamui Woods reached the scene in approximately ten minutes. Upon arrival, his skepticism intensified as he observed nothing unusual except crystal shards scattered on the floor, broken lights, and several holes in the walls. Kamui Woods halted abruptly, his gaze fixating on Kevin, who was gathering his strength. He hastened to Kevin's side with the urgency of a paramedic.
"Kid? Kid, are you okay?" Kamui Woods asked.
"I'm fine... but you aren't." Kevin regained his strength, quickly grabbed Kamui's arm, and squeezed it tightly as he prepared to extract a sample of his quirk as painfully as possible. "Thanks for the power!" Kevin smirked.
"Why... why would you do this to me?" Kamui posed his question just before collapsing on the floor. Clenching his fist against the ground, he cast one final glance up at Kevin, who loomed over the fallen hero.
"Don't take it personally. You helped me." Kevin responded as he started to walk away, "You're not going to hurt any more people!" Kamui said before finally passing out cold on the subway.
"That's what he thinks. I think it's time to pay those skaters another visit." Kevin chuckled as he emerged from the subway, his entire being, clothes included, mimicking the wooden texture of Kamui's skin.
Half an Hour Later
"Kamui?!" the feminine voice echoed as she hastened towards the sight of the unconscious pro-hero. She immediately spotted a significant bruise on one of his arms. Kamui was breathing heavily and deeply, but thankfully, he was still alive. The woman crouched down and rolled him onto his back. She pressed her hand against his body, trying to get him to wake up.
"M-Mount L-Lady, is that you?" Kamui managed only a faint cough from his whispered words. His eyes opened exceedingly slowly, and he felt a soreness in his arm. It wasn't until after a few blinks that he noticed the bruise, causing him to wince as he cradled his aching arm.
"What happened to you, Kamui?" Mount Lady questioned, while she stared into his eyes.
"Some kid had a quirk down here and did something to me. I don't know where he is now." Kamui coughed a little as he returned the gaze that Mount Lady provided.
"A few reports mentioned something happening down this subway. You were sent here while every other hero, including me, was dealing with another villain."
"Yeah? I just want to get out of here and see if anyone else spotted this troublesome kid."
Mount Lady helped Kamui up and let him lean on her shoulder. She gave a worried expression as Kamui was struggling to stand. He still needed a bit more strength to regain his balance properly.
"I don't remember seeing anyone harmed down here or around here, so that's good at least," Kamui said with a yawn and a small wince. Regrettably, Kamui began to experience the onset of a severe and painful headache.
Meanwhile, with Kevin
The skatepark mostly retained its appearance. The only difference was that the ramp had crystal shards on it. The skateboards littered the ground, leading into a closed-off vandalized snack bar. It was a perfect place to hide since it was closed off and the fact that it had minimal light besides the seeps of sunlight that popped in from the sun and at night the moonlight or streetlamps above. The area was closed off since it was a popular point for teenagers and alike to vandalize it. The police tried to stop the vandalization a few times, but as teenagers with quirks continued to vandalize or wreck it, it became hopeless.
"Ahh! Kevin, please don't!" As Kevin advanced step by step, Kenji retreated further, a fearful expression littering his face.
"Give me one reason why. I shouldn't bury you right now," Kevin replied while his skin was gone and replaced with wood and diamonds from head to toe, each on two sides of his body. Kevin didn't realize he could use two quirks at once and he was going to abuse it as long as he could.
"I'll give you anything. I'm sorry my gang and I called you freak, and you can keep the money!" Kenji begged, as his gang members were standing near him. Whatever quirk they had was easily outclassed by Kevin's sheer strength. Kenji's strength quirk wasn't even a damage dealer to Kevin's form.
"Too bad you had your chance. You and everyone else in this world think I'm a freak! Nobody is innocent. They're all just like you and haven't had the chance to make fun of me yet," Kevin grunted.
"We're sorry! Please don't hurt us!" Kenji raised his voice once more, his tone grave, yet Kevin remained intent on killing them all.
"I'm going to enjoy this," Kevin said as he was about to extend his arm and reach for Kenji first. He heard a loud thump behind him as if something had crashed behind him.
"Kevin, stop!" The gruff voice ordered.
"Ah, Midoriya. I was wondering when you'd show up." Kevin grumbled.
"Those four arms of yours won't help you." Kevin ceased his focus on Kenji and his gang as he attempted to charge towards Izuku.
"The name's Four Arms and I'm putting a stop to you, Kevin. You aren't going to hurt anyone else today." Four Arms replied.
"Whatever! Nobody is ever going to make fun of me again!" Kevin let out a roar as he lunged at Four Arms, his arms extended and balled into tight fists. Four Arms deftly sidestepped the assault, observing as Kevin barreled into the grimy wall of the snack bar.
Kevin whirled around, stretching his wooden arm as though it were elastic, and his fist met Four Arms's face. Four Arms staggered slightly, yet Kevin stood ready to launch another attack without hesitation.
"Agh, I forgot he had Kamui Wood's quirk. I guess I should have expected that with his skin being wooden." Four Arms thought as he blocked Kevin's attack and pushed him away with ease.
"Come on guys, let's get out of here!" Kenji said as he sprinted away along with his gang, they each made their way out of the abandoned snack bar with the backdoor, which wasn't a backdoor but more of a hole made in the wall after Kenji punched it out of anger with his strength quirk once.
"Yeah, the Bridge should be safer than this!" Kenji gave a nod to his colleague as they escaped.
"No! I was going to kill them!" Kevin yelled.
"You aren't hurting anyone like I said, Kevin." Four Arms crossed his arms.
"Then, I guess I'll take each of your quirks and kill you instead!" Kevin yelled out in anger with his diamond-coated arm extended as his hand was morphing into a sharp spear.
"Kevin, just stop!" Four Arms yelled. Unfortunately, he wasn't getting through to Kevin whatsoever.
It's only been three minutes and Kevin was still tussling, he was still giving it his all, and Four Arms was combating him with ease. Kevin felt himself losing Diamondhead's and Kumai's abilities. They were slipping from his finger by the second. With every punch he threw, he was losing their quirks. After one more second of punching, Kevin was completely normal again. His clothes even lost the crystalline shine that covered them.
Four Arms grabbed him by his shirt and held him with ease. This would be it for Kevin, but unfortunately, he noticed the omnitrix was doing its signature red blinking motion.
"Seriously? Right now?" Four Arms complained. Kevin fell to the ground as Four Arms disappeared and Izuku took the place of the alien instead. The omnitrix had a red light on the surface of it and Izuku's face went wide when he noticed Kevin immediately got up and charged toward him.
"Good timing! I could use a refill of power!" Kevin replied.
"Kevin, no!" Izuku's cry went painfully unheard as Kevin aggressively lunged at him with all his strength, his hand tightly gripping the omnitrix. It was almost impossible even to get Kevin off the omnitrix's surface. Izuku couldn't let himself get defeated again, he just needed Kevin to cease his hunger for omnitrix power.
"Yes!" Kevin hollered as he looked at his arms and smiled at the green energy circling them. The green particles started to dwindle as Kevin felt both of his arms mutate into different quirks that Izuku had. What made it worse was the fact that he didn't have a single quirk. His body was having a hard time adjusting to the largest and most powerful amount of energy he'd ever absorbed before. He felt himself getting taller, his skeleton was extending. He felt a sharp sting on his back that morphed into a pair of wings.
"I CAN'T STOP CHANGING!" Kevin painfully hollered.
"This hurts a lot, but I've got enough power to kill you, Midoriya," Kevin said as he growled.
Kevin's head had a frightening texture; he retained his hair and ears, yet the distinction lay in an extra pair of eyes reminiscent of Four Arms. One of his eyes was a pure green, while his jaw bore a striking resemblance to that of a beast. "I can't change back, Midoriya! This is your fault!" Kevin boomed. Izuku sighed and swiveled his head.
"No! I wanted to help you! You've done this yourself!" Izuku retorted with a yell. He glared at his Omnitrix, which was inappropriately still glowing red. Panic set in; how would he confront Kevin, who possessed ten times the strength of his normal human form?
"Should I call for help?" Izuku thought, "He's coming closer, oh god." Izuku had thought while stepping back to provide more distance. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, as Kevin was cracking his fists as he got closer to Izuku.
"I can't transform for another five minutes, but I can't let him out and hurt people!" Izuku freaked out, he dodged the crystalline fist of Kevin. Kevin growled again.
"Give me that watch of yours and I'll absorb every single quirk you have on that thing."
"But you already have enough power of ten quirks! Why do you want more?" Izuku yelled out, and to his dismay, he realized Kevin had formed a crystalline wall behind him. Trapped, Izuku found himself confined with Kevin.
"I want more power! The more quirks I absorb, the stronger I get, and then nobody, including you, will ever make fun of me again." Kevin stated.
Izuku was too slow to escape Kevin's grasp; using XLR8's speed, Kevin seized Midoriya's arm and hoisted him up like a rag doll. All Izuku could do was watch as Kevin pressed his fiery arm against the watch's surface. Despite his efforts to remove it, an unexpected turn of events occurred, almost miraculous for Izuku. Kevin hadn't anticipated the shockwave from the Omnitrix; it was as if a massive force had propelled him a considerable distance away.
Kevin hadn't anticipated the painful jolt of the shockwave that propelled him away from Izuku, sending him crashing into a nearby building amidst the street's usual clutter—trash cans, mailboxes, streetlights, and the like. Kevin groaned as he struggled to move for a few minutes. The shocking feeling was still lingering inside his head for a little.
"What the heck!? I didn't even touch the watch!" Izuku was in a state of panic, feeling both relief and utter surprise. His relief quickly morphed back into panic upon realizing that Kevin was out on the street, potentially endangering others. Izuku blamed himself for letting Kevin be in such a situation, yet he knew he couldn't dwell on it;
"I've got to get there! At least I know where he went from the huge trail of steam he left and the hole in the wall." Izuku told himself, "I didn't think he'd get shocked so hard that steam would leave me a path, but thanks!" Izuku finished as he sprinted from the abandoned snack bar.
"What the hell?" Kevin said as he grumbled.
"Is that a quirk or a monster?!" someone shouted, while another civilian exclaimed, "Is that a villain?!"
Kevin grumbled and swiftly raised his arm. To his astonishment, a burst of flames erupted from his open palm. Realizing what he had done, a wicked smile spread across his face.
"Now the real fun can begin. I can't wait to test these new abilities." Kevin audibly growled. "A 'monster'? Well, nobody is going to call me anything like that again," Kevin added as he stomped over towards the civilian who called him a monster. Kevin growled while raising his crystalline fist into a spear.
"You aren't hitting anyone, villain!" The gruff voice called out.
"You're going to pay for that... with your quirk," Kevin added as he roared.
It was a horrible sight for the terrified civilians. There was a complete monster about to cause destruction. However, that destruction was put on hold, but the terrifying feeling remained within the civilians.
Kevin felt a little spit launch out of his mouth as Death Arms collided with his fist against Kevin's stomach, despite having a high defense it still hurt. Kevin grumbled as he easily grabbed Death Arms using his lower furry orange arms and then used his crystal fist to push Death Arms into various cars as glass shattered around him.
Kevin activated his newly discovered Stinkfly wings to achieve flight, but he struggled to maintain balance properly, as this was his first time flying. Kevin's wings flapped with haste as he swiveled his head to witness Midoriya approaching closer.
"Heatblast!" Heatblast triumphally shouted.
"Midoriya? I was wondering when you'd show your face again. You turned me into this monster!" Kevin said.
"This monster is demolishing the entire street!" the man shouted, "Run before anyone gets injured!" Backdraft exclaimed, attempting to evacuate civilians while attempting to cease the flames that spouted from the row of cars that Death Arms collided through.
"Agh, I don't want to do with any more fire!" Backdraft wished; he gazed at the flames that were causing a fight to be put out.
"Kevin, stop before anyone else has to get hurt, please!" Heatblast pleaded. While he hadn't attacked yet, he got ready for any attack that Kevin was bound to retaliate with.
"Shut up! You're weak. Do you think I'm a monster like everyone else? You and this cruel world will suffer like me!" Kevin called out, louder than anything else.
"Kevin, please! Lashing out isn't g-" His voice faltered, punctuated by a series of coughs. Heatblast slid across the street and into a diminutive store brimming with assorted bags of chips and miscellaneous snacks.
"You aren't going to stand in my way any longer. You don't have the guts to do what I can." Kevin towered over Heatblast with a sadistic smile. He had his foot over Heatblast's back, his skin was durable enough to withstand intense heat. Kevin transformed his crystalline arm into a spear, its gleam cascading along his limb. Heatblast tried to struggle, but each effort fell short of freeing him.
"Don't worry, Heatblast! I am here!" All Might announced himself with the iconic triumph and hope he brought to his voice, "We're putting an end to your reckless rampage, villain!" Death Arms stood by his side with a grin.
"You can turn yourself in or continue to fight, villain. Your choice." Death Arms announced.
Kevin grinned, looking at the two heroes who stood near him. Kevin already mapped out his attack. Again, the only quirks he knew on the top of his head were Diamondhead, Four Arms, XLR8, Stinkfly, and Heatblast. He'd have more, but he needed more practice with a couple of others if he didn't lose more of his sanity at the end.
"All Might? Now the real fun begins." Kevin joked, hoping he could defeat All Might; if not, super speed was always his escape option. However, Kevin was no coward and despised fleeing from enemies, unless defeat was certain.
"Glad to see that you're looking forward to your defeat!" As All Might prepared to launch an attack, Death Arms stood ready behind him, poised to back up All Might's initial move. In response, Kevin let out a growl and began by hurling a few fireballs from his arm, which shimmered with intense heat. An array of fire obscured the view for both Kevin and Death Arms. Unbeknownst to Death Arms, All Might burst through the flames, sending Kevin reeling back. Swiftly, he rescued Heatblast and set him down near the front entrance. As Kevin began to steady himself, Death Arms moved in closer.
"Not so tough now, huh?" Death Arms delivered a strike to Kevin's chest, blocking the swipes from Kevin's lower arms and sliding in a punch to Kevin's stomach. It was then that Death Arms realized he couldn't move his feet.
"Ew, what is this stuff?" Death Arms grumbled with disgust.
"Big talk when you can't move," Kevin spoke with a grin, his sharp teeth gleaming under the store's bright lights. A small highlight caught his lone green eye, while his other two eyes glowed with a faint orange hue.
"Don't worry, Death Arms! I've got this!" All Might's interruption erased Kevin's joy, replacing it with a scowl. As All Might appeared, Kevin felt a tight fist slam into him, followed by three more punches striking both sides of his body.
"Ugh! Now here's one for you!" Kevin growled, his arm ablaze, forming a fiery fist that struck All Might's robust chest, barely phasing him. It was no more than a minor irritation. Disappointment washed over Kevin as he sensed All Might gaining the advantage. Another punch sent him crashing into the store's wall, a trickle of blood escaping his mouth, while a few drops bled from his lower arms, obscured by the thick orange fur.
"I hate doing this, but he's winning! Soon all those idiots will laugh at me and call me a monster. I need a distraction." Kevin coughed up a small bit of green slime, he didn't know if it was blood related to his quirk or new ability, but considering it was a little lighter than the slime he already used on Death Arms, it was probably some kind of blood.
Kevin held his breath for a moment, using both his diamond and fiery arms to block All Might's punch. He quickly leaned back as his mouth opened, releasing a stream of toxic goo reminiscent of an insect's defense mechanism. It was repulsive yet beneficial as a diversion for Kevin, though he now decided to refrain from using the ability unless necessary, as it caused a strange sensation that lingered briefly in his throat.
"Ugh, that stung a little." All Might commented as he rubbed his face, before gripping the slime that resided on his face. After a brief second of struggling, he tore the slime in half like a piece of paper. His fingers still felt a little tingling and sticky, but that wore off after a few seconds. All Might be more disappointed than the fact that Kevin disappeared completely. Then again, he had a speedster quirk. All Might know he virtually could be miles away or even further already.
"Hey, what about that fire monster? Wait, where did he go?" Death Arms inquired, then shifted his attention to All Might. He walked over to All Might, frowning slightly upon realizing that both Kevin and Heatblast had escaped.
"Well, I'm glad the monster freed me from that gross sticky goo, but I wish to know his name." Death Arms commented. He noticed All Might shortly got close to him while taking a breath, retaining his signature smile.
"I believe he named himself, 'Heatblast', but I have to check if there are any injured civilians!"
"Heatblast? I never heard of them, but I don't think they got a hero license either..." Death Arms grumbled as he scanned the area for how much debris and damage there was. Some damage occurred, but at least the store didn't get destroyed as much as the street.
Dusk - Somewhere in the woods
Several broken branches lay on the ground, further crushed by the footsteps of the formidable Kevin Levin. Taking a moment to rest, Kevin sat atop a large tree stump, one he had felled himself with his crystalline hand. He paused to catch his breath, needing air after exerting all his strength to run. Now, he was truly a monster, more brutish and alien-like than ever before. People had always labeled him a monster, a jerk, and other aggressive terms for absorbing their quirks and using them to his advantage. This secret activity continued for years until his parents discovered it, and after being grounded, he ended up destroying their house in their absence.
Usually, depending on if the quirk belonged to a mutation, his skin or body half resembled it in some way. It was scarier when he already had a quirk because his skin either overlapped itself or split on either side of his body. As Kevin sat down, he grunted in frustration as he kept failing to transform back into his usual form, or even a more humanoid form that wasn't a mix-match of different mutation quirks that belonged to the omnitrix.
"I hate people, I hate Midoriya..." Kevin grumbled. His mental state wasn't doing so well, either.
"Do you get hated for your looks and quirk too?" The voice questioned.
"Yeah, some jerk turned me into what I look like today."
"Really? Well, that guy must be a jerk." The man commented. He gazed at Kevin, who responded with a nod.
"Believe it or not, but I know how you feel. People can be horrible to us heteromorphs." Kevin returned the gaze and nodded once more.
"So, do you have a name? What do I call you?" Kevin questioned.
"The name is Spinner. What's yours?" Spinner hastily requested.
"Kevin, how did you find me, anyway?" Kevin inquired.
"You left a trail of branches and other knocked-down trees. It wasn't hard to find you when you left a trail of branches and noise," Spinner answered.
"You got anything to say, or will you waste more of my time?" Kevin questioned.
"Yeah, I've got a team I'm a part of and we're also oppressed by society, like yourself. Do you want to join? You can join us in standing up for oppression and the villain underworld." Spinner finished.
"A chance to have payback on those who make fun of me? And a rematch against those stupid heroes? You bet I'm joining." Kevin responded.
"Excellent. Follow me, I've got a secret shortcut to our hideout." Spinner added the heavy footsteps as Kevin followed behind him.
Author's Note:Hello everyone! Thanks for coming back to read. This is one of the most fun to write, even though it kind of is long. I didn't think it'd be that long, but eh. The skatepark setting is based on an actual setting I searched for and seen in Japan once in a video. The snack bar was there too since it also existed in said video I watched. (I wish I could remember the title now). Kevin's mental state is falling if you haven't caught on. The more quirks he absorbs and keeps, the more he kind of declines insanity.
I got some problems wrong with the last chapter, so I fixed those as well. Also, I'm still having a lot of fun writing this as well. I just probably will update it infrequently, due to real-life events and personal problems. I'm pretty active on Ao3 as well.
As always, leave your thoughts and concerns in a PM or review. (Hopefully, this chapter was coherent and didn't make many mistakes with it).
