During the series there are instances where somebody should have stepped up or McGee in defense of himself but can't since his spine is removed by writers on remaining the fall guy for sick amusement. These are those instances where canon gets addressed.

What if Ari never shot Kate and he became the liasion officer? What if Ziva was never part of the team? One day Ari was worried because he did not hear from his sister Ziva for quite a long time. One thing he learned from Gibbs was to always trust your gut and his gut was telling him that something was wrong.
