-Chapter Fifty-Six-

"But can't he and Zoro just destroy the wall or something?" Usopp asked.

"We can't risk that—it could make the cannonball explode even earlier for all we know" Vivi frowned.

"She's right, we can't just expect these people to patiently wait for the designated time while under attack" I agreed, crossing my arms as I anxiously began to bite my thumb in thought.

"Right, we have no choice but to take the stairs" Vivi nodded, already getting ready to take off.

"No, wait, Vivi" Nami suddenly piped up, stopping the princess in her tracks. "I think I have a better plan" she grinned.

"Eh? The clock's opening up!" I quickly pointed out, gaze flickering towards the movement of the clock's face.

"What?" the others asked, quickly looking upwards as the clock's face fully swung open followed by the sound of laughter.

"So, Mr. Seven" the boisterous voice of a young woman suddenly bellowed. "According to what the boss told us, this is going to be our final mission for Baroque Works!" she cheerily laughed—from what I could see with the squint of my eyes, she looked as if she was dressed like a frog.

"That's right, Miss Father's Day!" Mr. Seven laughed in agreement. "According to plan, we have just thirty seconds left to go!"

"Who are they?" Nami frowned.

"And what's with the ridiculous get-up?" I asked.

"Mr. Seven and Miss Father's Day" Vivi scowled.

"Hey, listen, Mr. Seven" Miss Father's Day said. "I think this is a very important mission that the boss has assigned to us" she concluded.

"I think you're absolutely correct about that, Miss Father's Day" Mr. Seven agreed.

"And do you know what else? I bet we'll get a promotion for pulling this off successfully!" she cheerily chirped.

"I do hope that that is a planned reward" he nodded in agreement. "After all, this is quite a difficult mission when you think about it, Miss Father's Day—we're shooting a cannonball into the ground using such a big cannon, so the reward should be just as big!"

"We need to get this plan underway right now" Nami frowned, quick to start ushering us around with the wave of her hands.

"It's almost time to go now, Mr. Seven" Miss Father's Day chirped.

"We're ready to fire, yeah—fifteen seconds until we shoot" Mr. Seven nodded.

"Cannon aimed at the center of the palace square—fire!" they both loudly cheered.

"Hey, Nami, what the hell is it that you're trying to do anyway?" Usopp grunted, shakily holding me up on his back as I held Chopper—who was in his deer form—on mine while Vivi sat on top of him. We looked ridiculous if I was being honest...like a bunch of circus performers getting ready to do an act while haphazardly stacked atop one another. "We really don't have time to play around, if we mess this up, we're going to die—hey!" he snapped when he saw the ginger wasn't listening to him.

"Thanks, Usopp, but I already know that" Nami lightly growled in irritation, already growing annoyed with the sharpshooter's rambling. "So just shut up and stand there quietly, I'm calculating" she huffed.

"You're shaking" I commented, resting my chin on Usopp's shoulder as I kept my arms wrapped tightly around his neck. Already could I feel my back start to ache due to the pressure of Chopper's hoofs digging into it.

"You're all heavy..." he grunted as I only hummed in agreement. "Besides, maybe I would shut up if I had any idea what was going on! Would you just explain what the hell it is you're planning already?!" he angrily snapped towards Nami.

"Calm down, you'll know soon enough" was the only response he got from the navigator as she held up her Clima-Tact and began to take aim. "Are you ready?" she asked, a certain glint in her eyes.

"Hey, listen, Mr. Seven" Miss Father's Day said. "This is a very special occasion, I think we should countdown" she suggested.

"Oh, that is a very good plan, Miss Father's Day" Mr. Seven agreed. "Good plan, a very good plan! Sounds interesting."

"Forecast—a typhoon" Nami said, holding her Clima-Tact up high as she prepared to fling it.

"Here we go, countdown!" the two weirdos up in the clock tower happily chirped.

"Cyclone Tempo!" Nami flung the first two connected sections of her Clima-Tact towards us, her lips soon curling up into a sly grin as that glint in her eyes became more noticeable.

"What?" Usopp blinked. "But wait, Cyclone Tempo is just a silly boomerang game to play at parties" he frowned as the two pieces came rolling toward us.

"Hm, I have a vague idea of what she's doing and I don't think this is going to end well for you, Usopp" I hummed once I saw just how low the rolling sections were, the only response I received was a low whine.

"Just head for the clock tower" Nami told us right as the sections made sharp contact between Usopp's legs. I winced at the pained howl he gave as we were shot up into the air.

"What the—they're flying?" Sanji questioned.

"Chopper! Jump up to where Sanji is, alright!" Nami instructed.

"Huh?" the reindeer questioned.

"That's it? This is her big plan?" Vivi frowned. "To make it all the way up there piggyback like this?"

"I mean, I'll give her credit, it's a unique way of getting up there" I grinned.

"Sanji, you know what to do, right? We have to hurry!" Nami called up to the blond.

"I think I get the idea, but it's risky..." Sanji muttered, hopping up onto the window sill. "Well, I guess I just have to do it" he grinned.

"It's too late to turn back at this point, Tony—let's do this" Vivi huffed, steeling her nerves once she realized that there was no backing down now that we were this far up.

"Okay, Vivi, now just hang on tightly" Chopper nodded, jumping off my back and harshly sending both Usopp and me back down toward the ground as he lept up to where the blond waited.

"I see, that's what they're doing" Zoro said as Usopp slammed back onto the ground with me on top of him. Rolling off of the sharpshooter, I sighed before bursting out into a fit of laughter.

"That was fun and life-threatening" I chuckled.

"That isn't something to laugh about..." Usopp groaned.

"Aw, come on, it wasn't that bad" I grinned, sitting up as I gently patted his back which only caused his groan to get louder.

"Chopper, get on my right leg!" Sanji ordered, jumping from the window sill as he held out his leg.

"Right" Chopper nodded.

"Eleven seconds" Mr. Seven and Miss Father's Day chirped from above.

"Here they come, Zoro!" Sanji shouted, helping to give Chopper and Vivi an extra boost that sent them even higher up.

"Good job, so far..." Nami muttered, practically holding her breath in anticipation as she anxiously watched the two work their way up toward the top of the clock tower.

"This plan of yours might just work" I said, lowly whistling as I shielded my eyes from the sun and watched.

"So I just throw them to the top of the tower?" Zoro questioned as he got ready to fulfill his part of the plan just as the two in the clock tower finally started to count down.

"Zoro!" Chopper called up to the swordsman.

"Yeah, I'm ready—come on up!" he called back, jumping off the roof and quickly positioning himself right underneath Chopper.

"Not the swords" the reindeer whimpered when he saw the swordsman's blades.

"It's the flat of the blade, calm down—get your footing" Zoro instructed.

"Okay" he nodded.

"Careful, there's a couple of weirdos up there" the swordsman warned.

"Yes, I know them" Vivi nodded before gasping when she saw that Mr. Seven and Miss Father's Day had now spotted them.

"Oh ho! Hello, Miss Wednesday" Mr. Seven grinned.

"I'd recognize that little traitor to our company anywhere" Miss Father's Day huffed.

"They noticed!" Nami gasped, grabbing her hair in distress.

"They did!" Usopp cried out as he shot straight up.

"And the plan was going so well—fuck!" I cursed.

"We're still in the air, this is really bad" Zoro grounded out. "If they shoot at us, we're finished" he quickly realized.

"Adjusting Ribbit Gun for attack—this is an unexpected catch!" Miss Father's Day laughed as she now aimed her gun down at the three.

"Adjusting Yellow Gun for attack" Mr. Seven chirped. "How nice, how nice—this is good, they are perfect prey" he grinned, also now aiming his own gun down at the three.
