-Chapter Seventy-Nine-
"Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!" Chopper chanted, standing atop the ship's railing and impatiently bouncing on his legs as I climbed aboard the ship.
"We know, now take it easy" Sanji said, picking the reindeer up and setting him back down on the deck so that he wouldn't accidentally fall overboard.
"Yeah, relax, Chopper" Usopp agreed.
"There's no need to get worked up, everything will be just fine" I assured him, gently patting the top of his head with a sweet smile.
"I can't help it, the old-timer is in no condition to be doing anything so crazy" Chopper worriedly said.
"I know, but we have to trust him" I said, looking out towards the sea before sweat dropping when I noticed that Zoro had moved in the wrong direction and was farther away from where our captain was.
"Hey, dummy! You're going the wrong way—didn't I tell you not to get lost?" I called out to him, watching as he finally stopped and looked around.
"Dammit!" he cursed, splashing some of the water around him in frustration.
"Shoot them!" Minchey ordered.
"Don't shoot!" Zenny snapped, throwing his abacus right at the Marine soldier that was getting ready to shoot which in return knocked the man's gun right out of his hand. Leaning against the ship's railing, I watched in amusement as the goats continued to attack the men. "You've done it now, my boys are out of control—go get them men!" the old man laughed as his goats ran rampant, bringing a smile to my face.
"Hm?" I perked up when a felt the ship suddenly jostle a little as if we had just struck something. "What was that?" I asked.
"What was what?" Nami questioned with a raised brow.
"I thought I felt something" I said, peering over the railing only to find nothing there but the calming waves.
"You did? Must have been your imagination" Nami shrugged, already waving me off as she went back to doing whatever it was she was doing before.
"Maybe..." I mumbled.
"Look, they're just waiting for us in formation!" Usopp suddenly cried out, pointing toward the lined-up Marine ships that had been hidden by the fog earlier.
"It's weird how they show no signs of advancing—we got to come up with a battle plan while we still can" Nami said, already wanting to take advantage of the Marines' lack of action.
"Okay, so what should we do?" Sanji asked. "Be the ones to attack them first?"
"Are you out of your mind?!" Nami snapped.
"That's suicide, this small ship couldn't go head-on with that many Marine ships" I said.
"It doesn't matter, the first thing we got to do is help the old man!" Chopper frantically cried out as the ship now sailed closer toward Zenny's and the Marines' ships that were still locked in battle with one another.
"By the way, did we hit something a minute ago?" Usopp suddenly asked.
"You felt that too?" I questioned.
"You too, Usopp? Are you and Skylar sure you didn't just imagine it? I didn't feel anything" Nami said.
"Never mind that, hurry!" Chopper exclaimed, frantically pointing towards the two ships as if that would make us move faster.
"Well, where's all that energy you had a minute ago?" Minchey mocked, kicking Zenny off his ship and back onto the old man's. "Where exactly is your treasure hidden, Zenny the Pirate? Come on, old man, spit it out—now!" he sneered, grabbing the front of Zenny's shirt and yanking him toward him. "Or don't you not care about living anymore?" he ominously asked.
"I care about living, more than you can ever know, I treasure my life—but, when it comes to money, I'll tell you I'm broke" Zenny admitted. "I've got nothing to spit out, not even spit" he said before grunting when he was suddenly and roughly tossed aside.
"Very well" Minchey sneered, pulling his sword out and kicking the sheath away when he saw that Zenny was reaching for it. "As dinky as this little island is, it shouldn't take my crew long to dig it up from one end to the other. I guess I don't need you anymore" he maliciously grinned, before being taken aback when Zenny suddenly stood and rammed into while grabbing hold of the wrist of the hand that was holding the sword. "Why you—you're finished!" he growled, kicking the old man away from him and raising his sword high...
He was stopped in his tracks by the old man's abacus suddenly being thrown at him.
"I'm afraid I broke your abacus, I'm sorry" Robin apologized, appearing in the doorway of the ship's cabin.
"What do you think you're doing? If you defy the Marines and get—" Minchey was interrupted by a bunch of goats jumping him right as our ship finally docked right beside Zenny's.
"Old man!" Chopper worriedly cried.
"What took you so long? I almost died here!" Zenny scowled as the reindeer hopped down onto his ship and rushed right over to him.
"I mean, you're still alive, aren't you?" I smiled.
"I was so worried about you!" the reindeer whimpered as Nami and I followed while Usopp shot smoke bombs at some of the Marines that were still standing and looking for a fight.
"And that takes care of you!" he proudly huffed when he finally finished off the last of the Marines on the ship.
"Robin, is this where you've been?" Nami questioned as she and I walked over to the raven-haired woman.
"It was kind of worrisome how we hadn't seen you all day" I confessed.
"Old man, you can rest now that the mighty Captain Usopp is here!" Usopp boasted.
"How did you get that bump on your head?" Nami asked.
"What exactly have you been doing while we were all separated from each other?" I questioned.
"Ah! There's no pulse!" Chopper suddenly cried out in a panic as he held the sleeve to Zenny's coat.
"That's my sleeve, Chopper, the rest of me is over here—see?" Zenny smiled, waving his hand.
"I know that!" Chopper embarrassingly huffed as he sat the old man down and begin to search through the medical bag he had brought with him. "Now, you just take it easy and lie down, right there!" he ordered, already starting to cry as he searched through his bag. "Don't die, old-timer!" he hiccuped.
"Do you think I'd die?" Zenny asked, chortling as he closely watched Chopper doctor him.
"So, how are you feeling, old man?" Sanji asked.
"Hopefully better than before" I hummed.
"I'm feeling fine, of course, now that I finally became a pirate...I don't want to die!" Zenny laughed.
-Later-
"The only reason we came to this island was because our Sergeant ordered us" one of the Marines explained as he spoke with Usopp.
"Are you sure the ropes are tight enough?" I asked Nami, peering down at the grumbling redheaded she was tying up.
"Of course, do you doubt my ability to tie someone up?" she asked, tightening the ropes even more which caused Minchey to painfully groan.
"Hm" I hummed, taking a moment to think as I peered down at the man who stared back up at me with a rather hateful look. "Yeah, maybe you should tighten it a little more just in case" I grinned, chuckling as he gave another painful groan once the ropes were tightened again.
"Yeah...well," Usopp hummed, "I guess if your commanding officer says so, you got to do it, huh" he said before leaning in closer to the Marine. "I'll tell you, our captain can be a little unreasonable too, you know" he whispered.
"You don't say" the Marine said as the sharpshooter nodded.
"Hey, don't get too chummy there" Sanji scolded as my gaze wandered over towards Luffy who was currently laid out on the ground, soaking wet and heavily breathing as he gulped down as much air as he could.
"Old goat man, you okay?" he panted.
"I'm fine, are you okay?" Zenny questioned.
"Don't worry about Luffy, he'll be fine" Nami assured him, smiling as she tightened the rope even more to the point that the tied-up redhead was starting to cry.
"Okay, Nami, I think that's enough tightening the rope now" I said. "At this point, you're going to destroy his internal organs."
"I think it can be tightened up a bit more—he's a big boy, he can handle it" she sweetly smiled.
"I'm starting to think you really do want to rupture his organs" I sweat dropped.
"Your seizure has passed, so you should be feeling better now" Chopper told Zenny.
"Glad to hear it, Doctor Chopper" Zenny smiled.
"That's good, old man, how's tricks with you?" Luffy happily grinned.
"Just fine, thank you!" Zenny laughed with the captain soon joining in.
"Ah!" Nami suddenly gasped as if now remembering something important as she quickly walked away from Minchey and over to Zenny where she then bent down to be at the same eye level with him. "So listen, old-timer—you can tell us now, can't you? About your treasure?" she asked.
"Hey, don't you go giving any shucks to my patient!" Chopper snapped as the old man turned away from Nami. "Hang in there, old man!" he worriedly pleaded.
"For the love of..." Zenny grumbled as he sat straight up. "Alright, I guess you kids have helped me out, so maybe it'd be okay to tell you" he finally relented.
"That's more like it, if the Marines know about it then it must be some treasure!" Nami grinned as she clasped her hands together in joyful glee.
