-Chapter Eighty-Two-

"Woo-hoo! Alright, Rainbow Mist, here we come!" Luffy cheered the minute we entered the mist.

"Wow, Zoro's still asleep" I whistled, looking back at the swordsman who continued to snooze away. Completely unaware and missing out on the array of colors that now surrounded us before eventually dying away to reveal murky water and countless broken-down ships.

"What is this place?" Robin asked.

"You ever heard of Ape's Concert?" Henzo questioned.

"Ape's Concert? That's impossible!" the raven-haired woman gasped.

"What is that?" Usopp nervously asked.

"Well, Robin, want to tell us?" I asked as we directed our attention toward the older woman.

"It's a legendary graveyard of ships that once you enter, you can never get out of it" she explained.

"It's what?" Luffy, Usopp, and I questioned, owlishly blinking before the captain burst out into a suddenly fit of laughter.

"Awesome!" Luffy grinned, causing me to.

"Well at least someone's optimistic about this, isn't that right, Sora?" I laughed before blushing as I quickly covered my face with my hands out of embarrassment.

"Again?" Usopp softly chuckled, smiling as Luffy laughed with a wide grin now plastered on his face as he happily beamed back at me the minute I peeked through my fingers.

"I'm—"

"No need to apologize, I don't mind" the captain cut me off.

"You sure?" I frowned, softly huffing a smile when I saw the bright and reassuring smile he gave me.

-Later-

I boredly watched as Luffy climbed aboard one of the broken-down and abandoned ships, almost losing his balance in the process as the railing he used broke and he face-planted onto the deck.

"Wha—! Hey, look!" he shouted the second he lifted his head. "There are sunken ships everywhere! As far as you can see!" he gaped.

"You still scared?" I teasingly asked, looking toward Usopp the minute I heard him lowly whimper.

"Why don't we just stop? A ghost captain could appear around here any minute now!" he whined.

"Really?" Luffy perked up. "Hey, ghost captain!" he excitedly shouted.

"Stop that!" Usopp cried.

"What did you expect him to do? Back down from the chance to meet a ghost captain?" I giggled, the sharpshooter's head now drooping as he lowly grumbled to himself. Curiously turning my attention toward Robin, I brightly smiled when she looked up from the book she was reading "Hey, I wanted to thank you again for getting me free" I beamed.

"It was no problem" she responded, quick to brush off my thanks with a small smile of her own as she returned to her reading.

"Still, I probably would have never gotten free if it wasn't for you" I sighed, looking back out toward Luffy who was still exploring the wrecked ships that surrounded us. Indeed, she had been the one to help free me from Zoro's grip with a little bit of help from Luffy and Usopp who held my arms while she used her Devil Fruit abilities to pry the swordsman's arms from around my waist. In a matter of seconds, I was free, and never once during that whole process did Zoro wake up.

"Beyond the Rainbow Mist lies the Land of Eternity, the final paradise remaining in the world" Robin read aloud. "The area is filled with treasures of gold and silver and its inhabitants live forever without aging or going hungry—that's what's written in this book" she continued, looking towards Henzo as if to confirm her findings.

"I told you already, that's nothing more than a legend—a child's fairytale" Henzo scoffed with the wave of his hand.

"Earlier you said this place was a ship graveyard, but how could you know such a thing?" Robin curiously inquired.

"I was kind of wondering that as well" I hummed. "This place looks like it's been abandoned for years" I remarked, looking around at the ruined remains of half-sunken and abandoned ships.

"Well, it was just a glimpse, but...fifty years ago, I saw what was located here" Henzo confessed as my gaze was instantly drawn back to the area I had last seen Usopp and Luffy...only to find they were nowhere to be seen. I worried for a second about their sudden disappearance before remembering that they were together which instantly made most of my concern evaporate.

"If you knew, why come?" Robin asked.

"Haven't I already explained that? I researched this place in order to rescue my friends who were swallowed up by the mist fifty years ago, I even let myself become Wetton's dog and live with the scorn of the townspeople in order to reach my goal" Henzo heavily sighed.

"Sounds like you've had a rough life" I remarked, turning my head as I leaned back against the ship's railing.

"Hey!" Luffy shouted, dragging our attention as he and Usopp reappeared atop one of the rundown ships, carrying a rather large chest. "Pretty cool, huh?" he grinned as they held up the chest for us to see before falling back onto the deck of the Going Merry the second the railing they had been standing on broke and caused them to tumble over.

"Pretty and valuable" I whistled the second the chest popped open upon hitting the deck and spilled out a mountain of jewelry. "I think I know a certain navigator who'd be ecstatic if she was here" I said, scooping down and picking up a jewel to examine.

"What is this?" Henzo asked.

"It's amazing!" Luffy grinned as he stood up. "And there's a whole lot more left inside the ship, I'm going to go and explore some more!"

"Well, perhaps this isn't a paradise, but the part about treasures seems to be true though" Robin noted. "So maybe the book isn't entirely wrong, huh?" she smiled as she too examined the jewelry while Henzo only crossed his arms and huffed in response.

"I mean, most of these ships appear to be pirate ships, so I'm not surprised those two were able to find a chest full of treasure" I said, tossing the jewel in my hand back into the pile of treasure. "We could probably find more if we took time and explored the rest of the ships" I remarked, ears soon perking up to the sudden sound of ringing. "What's that?" I blinked.

"You dare to disturb the eternal rest of the dead!" a new voice boomed from somewhere.

"D-did you hear that?" Usopp trembled as he now frantically looked around.

"Maybe it's that captain ghost you were talking about earlier" I suggested, laughing as he now swatted at me.

"Don't say stuff like that!" he cried.

"Why not? You're the one that brought him up first" I grinned as I defended myself from his swatting hands.

"Skylar!" his voice wobbled.

"Leave the treasure and depart this place at once!" the voice demanded.

"Okay" Usopp whimpered, frantically nodding.

"If you do not, the curse of the dead will fall upon you all! Obey my words or face the consequences!" the voice now threatened.

"I'm scared" Usopp whined as Luffy hopped up onto the railing of the ship.

"Well, that's not anything new" I said, leaning back against the ship's railing.

"Who's there?" Luffy called out as a couple of bedsheets fell from some of the ships.

"Oh yeah, I'm really spooked now..." I sarcastically mumbled, the corners of my lips just barely twitching in amusement at the childish display.

"Ghost!" Usopp fearfully cried.

"Maybe we do deserve to be cursed by the dead..." I deadpanned.

"Now, hand over the treasure!" one of the "ghosts" suddenly demanded. "Nice and easy, if you don't…" it started as an arrow suddenly whizzed by and embedded itself just mere inches above Zoro's head.

"Zoro!" Luffy and I gasped.

"Why you!" Luffy growled.

"How can you still be asleep?" I sweat dropped, both relieved that he was at least alright and baffled by how easily he could sleep through just about anything. Luffy reeled back one of his arms before shooting it forward as he grabbed hold of a nearby ship and rocketed himself toward one of the "ghosts."

"Rotten ghost captain!" he sneered, hitting the sail and "ghost," which in return threw them both overboard.

"There's nothing inside the sheets!" Usopp freaked out. "They're really ghosts!" he wailed.

"Okay, Usopp, have you ever heard of the old bedsheet and string trick?" I asked him. "Because if not, I'm about to blow your mind with this one."

"Besides, the arrow came from that direction" Robin pointed toward another ship that was a good distance away from the ones with the "ghosts." Looking toward the ship, we quickly spotted the figure moving away from one of the broken windows.

"What?" Usopp frowned. "Luffy, over here! Hey, Luffy—can you hear me?" he shouted, suddenly pulling a megaphone out of nowhere and using it to amplify his voice as he tried to grab our captain's attention. "There's someone over there, look! Luffy pay attention! Luffy, come on now!" he practically pleaded.

"There's a bow" Robin said as the person on the ship was now pointing a bow and arrow toward our captain.

"That isn't good" I commented.

"Look out, Luffy!" Usopp shouted just as the arrow was shot at the captain who appeared to be distracted by the string that was holding up one of the bedsheets. Before the arrow could hit its target, Robin used her Devil Fruit abilities to catch it. Harshly yanking on the strings attached to the bedsheets, Luffy watched as a small child was suddenly pulled down from the crow's nest of the ship. Quick to react, the kid grabbed a nearby piece of rope and swung from it.

"Luffy" I called over to the rubber man who now stared at the arrow that had nearly hit him in curiosity.

"Special Attack Fire Star!" Usopp fired at the rope the kid was swinging from, breaking it and causing him to fall straight into the water.

"Was that necessary?" I asked as we leaned over the railing to peer down at the child. "He could have gotten hurt" I lightly scolded.

"Well, he would have gotten away if I hadn't done it, so yeah" Usopp reasoned before tilting his head in confusion. "What's this?" he mumbled.

"Jerks!" a blond-haired boy growled as he jumped down from another nearby ship.

"No, wait! Rongo!" a young girl frantically cried as she followed the blonde's example and jumped down after him.

"Where's Akibi?!" Rongo scowled.

"Rongo, you need to calm down!" the girl begged.

"Hey, look, it's just a couple of kids" Usopp pointed out, approaching the two before groaning in pain when he was suddenly struck between the legs.

"Oh! Ouch..." I winced at the sight as the sharpshooter kneeled right over.

"Akibi!" Rongo gasped, rushing over to the railing to stare down at the boy in the water.

"Go, run!" Akibi motioned just as the young girl snatched up Rongo's sword.

"Gum Gum...I'm home" Luffy smiled, shooting himself back over to us and accidentally knocking the little girl over in the process.

"Careful, Luffy" I lightly chastised.

"Oh, sorry" the captain grinned down at the child he had just knocked over. "Yo, thanks for the save earlier" he thanked as he now looked over toward Robin.

"Sure, you're welcome" she nodded.

"Rongo" the girl whimpered, bringing our attention back to the children.

"That's enough!" the voice from before boomed, causing Rongo to smile as an older blond now appeared on the scene. "We're the Pumpkin Pirates and Ape's Concert is our territory and you're all trespassing! Now, drop the treasure and let go of my friends!" he demanded. "Unless you want to die today" he threatened, now holding up a black sphere.

"A bomb?" Luffy questioned.

"Rapanui!" the girl brightened.
