-Chapter Eighty-Four-

"Okay, I get it now—it's a mystery mist" Luffy concluded. "No matter which way you go, you just end up where you started!" he proudly grinned, puffing out his chest as he seemed almost pleased with himself for coming to such a conclusion.

"Yeah, that's it, a mystery mist..." Zoro and Usopp grumbled in irritation.

"I mean he's not exactly wrong, he just explained it in a way someone like him can best understand it" I chuckled, causing the captain's grin to widen as he happily laughed upon hearing my agreement.

"I have to disagree with you, I'm not quite certain that he understands it completely" Henzo disagreed.

"Well, we get the part about not being able to get out of here" Zoro said as I scooted to the side and allowed some room for Luffy to pull himself up onto the railing beside me.

"We don't really have to get out of here anyway, it's fun" Luffy smiled as he sat down, only for his head to be struck by both Zoro and Usopp.

"I believe they disagree with you, captain" I laughed, lightly bumping him with my shoulder.

"Seems so" he hummed, unfazed by the assault inflicted upon his skull as he rubbed the back of his head.

"We should join up with Rapanui and the others" Robin suggested, handing Luffy back his hat.

"With all those kids?" Zoro questioned.

"Don't you think the best way to get out of Ape's Concert is to ask the people who have been in here for so long and made it their territory?" Robin asked.

"Look at you, being all smart and sensible" I grinned.

"Well, that makes sense, but how are we supposed to find out where they all are?" Usopp asked.

"Shouldn't be that hard to find a bunch of kids, I mean we don't have much to work with other than broken-down ships" I said.

"Yeah, but that'd be too time-consuming" Usopp argued.

"We could ask that boy" Robin suggested, suddenly pointing toward one of the broken-down ships. "He's right over there."

"How did she find out where I was?" the young boy whined as he nervously peeked out at us for a moment before quickly hiding once again.

"Looks like he's scared..." I softly huffed a laugh, gaze softening upon spying just how nervous the child was upon realizing he'd been caught.

"It's no use hiding" Robin called out as she pushed the young boy out of his hiding spot and into full view. "Now, would you be a dear and take us to wherever your leader is hiding?" she politely smiled.

-Later-

"Pukau!" Rapanui shouted the moment he caught sight of our ship sailing toward the wrecked Marine warship he and the others were seemingly using as a base.

"Oh, wow! That's a cool warship!" Luffy shouted, awing at the sight of the massive ship as he dangled upside down from one of the railings.

"It's a wrecked warship, isn't that right?" Robin asked as I silently stared at the rundown ship, a shiver racking up my spine as I quickly shook my head of any unpleasant thoughts that attempted to creep their way forward.

"Yes" Pakau nodded. "Right now it's what we've been using as our main hideout" he explained.

"I can see why you'd pick it—it's far more massive compared to the others" I remarked, noting how the warship seemed to just tower above the rest of the half-sunken and abandoned ships. Not only that, but it also appeared to still be in good condition compared to the rest as well with very few signs of damage to be seen.

"Cowards!" Rapanui sneered, drawing his sword as he jumped down onto the deck of our ship. "Just let Pukau go!" he growled, pointing his swords right at us.

"What is he talking about?" Luffy asked, brows furrowing in confusion.

"I believe he thinks we're holding his friend hostage" I said, watching as the captain nodded in understanding.

"Shut up!" Rapanui snapped, slashing at the rubber man who was quick to dodge the attack. "Let him go, now!" he glared, continuing to attack the captain who in return dodged each of his attacks.

"Just calm down a sec, will you!" Luffy frowned, now becoming annoyed with the blond as he quickly took shelter behind me.

"Having fun?" I asked, chuckling when he put his hands on my shoulders and shook his head, childishly sticking his tongue out at the blond.

"Shut up! You took Pukau hostage and forced him to tell you where our base was, didn't you?!" Rapanui accused, rushing straight for us. "I'll make you pay!" he slashed, only to have his sword knocked away by Zoro.

"That's not very nice, now is it?" Zoro glared while putting his own sword away.

"Quite unfair to go straight into attacking us without any evidence to back up your claim" I lightly chastised, smiling as the blond only growled in annoyance.

"Rapanui, I'm not really a hostage, they just asked me to lead them here" Pukau calmly explained. "So I brought them, that's all it was, really" he said in an attempt to try and calm his friend.

"No! They threatened you to make you say that!" Rapanui snapped, refusing to believe what it was his friend was saying.

"No, it's not true! They are not those kinds of people—I'm being serious!" Pukau frowned as he stepped in front of the blond who was still advancing toward us with a murderous look in his eyes. "Look, he's not mad, even when I do this!" he suddenly grabbed at Luffy's face and started to stretch it in every way possible.

"It's a lie! This is a strategy to let our guard down, that's all!" Rapanui denied with the quick shake of his head.

"You misunderstand" Robin butted in. "We only wanted to find you to ask if there was a way to get out of Ape's Concert, nothing more."

"Once you find out, then that's when you're going to steal all the treasure from the shipwrecks" Rapanui sneered. "I know what you're doing here" he hatefully glared.

"No, Rapanui, that's not it—I know these people and they wouldn't do that" Henzo finally cut in.

"How can I believe anything that a grownup says? Of course, the treasure is what they're after!" Rapanui snapped.

"This isn't going anywhere" Zoro groaned.

"Just be patient" I said. "It should have been clear that this wasn't going to be a simple walk in the park."

"Hey!" Usopp suddenly shouted, grabbing our attention as he walked out of the cabin holding up plates of food. "Look, Usopp's Very Special Lunch is now ready for eating" he grinned as drool now started to leak from our captain's mouth.

"Woo-hoo! Lunchtime!" Luffy cheered, quick to rush right over and start eating.

"Would you guys like some too?" Usopp asked, looking over to the rest of us.

"Oh, yeah!" Pukau smiled, quick to join our captain.

"I can't promise if it's going to taste good" Zoro said.

"I'm sure it can't be that bad, the most that'll happen is we might get food poisoning" I playfully teased, causing Usopp to frown.

"Don't listen to them, they're stupid..." he grumbled.

"Wow, this is delicious! Did you make all this by yourself?" Pukau asked.

"Yep, there's nothing I can't do!" Usopp boasted. "Hey, Luffy, slow down! Those aren't all for you!" he snapped when he saw just how much of the food the captain was eating.

"They aren't as good as Sanji's, but they're still yummy" Luffy admitted through a mouthful.

"I mean, no one can really compare to Sanji's cooking" I said as Usopp, Luffy, and Zoro hummed in agreement.

"There are some children over there who look like they may want some food too" Robin pointed out as she, Zoro, and I joined the others.

"You guys can come down too!" Usopp called up to the three children that peered down at us from the deck of the warship.

"There's plenty to eat" I smiled up at the three.

"These are amazing!" Pukau praised.

"Oh, really?" Akibi curiously asked, his interest now piqued.

"Oh, yeah?" Rongo questioned, watching as Akibi hopped down onto our ship to join us before he and Isoka quickly followed soon after.

"Don't take it—they're tricking you!" Rapanui huffed. "Hey, what happened to the pride of the Pumpkin Pirates, huh?" he frowned.

"Rapanui, pride's not going to fill their stomachs" Henzo told him as everyone gathered around one another and started to eat.

"What? You guys really came from the East Blue, seriously?" Isoka asked in slight awe.

"Yeah, sure did" Zoro nodded.

"Then that means you must have gone past Reverse Mountain on the way" Akibi pointed out.

"You guys must be real brave" Rongo added.

"Oh yeah, you better believe it" Usopp grinned. "We've had more adventures than you can possibly count—we fought giants and a goldfish that swallows whole islands" he explained as I raised an eyebrow.

"I don't remember any kind of adventures like that" I frowned.

"That's because you were passed out asleep during the rest of our time at Little Garden" Luffy pointed out through a mouthful, giving a sheepish grin and swallowing what was in his mouth when he saw the pointed look I gave him

"Aw man, seems I missed out on a lot of crazy cool things after passing out" I huffed, shoulders drooping in slight disappointment. I couldn't be too upset with my body though for needing its rest after my impromptu fight with Mr. Five back on Little Garden. We never really got any Devil Fruit users back on the island, so my experience in dealing with them fight-wise up to that point was practically none. I doubt anyone outside of certain individuals on this crew could really handle such a multitude of up-close explosions followed by being thrown at a high velocity straight into a boulder without it taking such a massive toll on their body...

No. I didn't blame my body too much for the rest it needed after that fight.

"That's alright, you would have loved Dorry and Brogy though—they were neat" Luffy grinned as he gave my back a comforting pat.

"It sure sounds like it" I smiled.

"We also saved a country from a secret crime organization" Usopp continued.

"Wow! Really?" Akibi asked in complete awe.
