-Chapter Eighty-Nine-

"You didn't steal it, did you?" the Marine asked.

"N-no, of course not!" the redhead sputtered, frantically shaking his head. "This was a treasure that was resting inside Ape's Concert!" he defended.

"Yes, yes—he's right! We just pulled it out of a shipwreck, that's all" Lake nodded, quick to come to the older man's defense.

"I see, so what you're saying then is that the ring here doesn't belong to anyone" the Marine said.

"Major, we've discovered a large pile of treasure that we believe was carried out of there" a female Marine reported.

"Right, well then, the Marines will be confiscating all of it" the Major decided.

"I won't let you! You better not so much as lay a finger on my treasure—it's mine! All of it's mine!" an even older-looking redhead snapped as he threateningly held up an axe.

"Any treasure that is found without an official owner is the property of the World Government, and if it's obtained illegally, that would be considered an act of piracy" the Major retorted.

"Ah, the dreaded laws of the government when it comes to unclaimed treasure, every greedy person's worst nightmare" I sighed, causing Zoro to snort.

"Fine with me, I'm really a pirate anyway" the old man grinned. "Anything I want, I just take by force!" he sneered, swinging that axe of his at the Marine Major.

"Look out!" Luffy and Usopp shouted before staring in awe as they watched how the Marine Major simply stopped the axe with just his finger.

"Let's consider that your confession, shall we?" he grinned. "Is that okay with you, pirate Captain Wetton?"

"Wait, what?" Wetton owlishly blinked as he was suddenly thrown back with just the flick of the Major's fingers.

"No, no, it can't be..." Henzo breathlessly breathed in shock as he looked closely at the Marine. "Rapanui?" he questioned.

"No way!" Luffy and Usopp gaped.

"B-but weren't they left back in the mist?" I asked in disbelief.

"I promised we'd come back to Ruluka, didn't I?" the female Marine softly smiled.

"Isoka?" Henzo asked, watching as the woman nodded in confirmation.

"Okay, take Wetton's gang into custody!" Rapanui ordered.

"Right!" Isoka and the other two Marines nodded.

"You're alive and you're a lot older—how did that happen?" Usopp asked.

"When the explosion happened, we were thrown into the outside world just like all of you were, except there was a slight difference" Rapanui explained. "We ended up in the world of fifty years ago" he revealed.

"I see, the Rainbow Mist must have warped the access of time as well as space" Robin concluded.

"Then why didn't you come here sooner?" Henzo questioned.

"We knew that we needed to figure out a way to defeat and punish Wetton" Rapanui answered. "I thought we needed help though, so we all decided to list with the Marines to use their power. But earning a high enough rank to have the authority to come here at will took more time than I expected" he explained.

"It makes sense now..." Henzo muttered to himself.

"I may be wearing the uniform of a Marine, but in my heart, I'm still a Pumpkin Pirate to the death" Rapanui assured us. "Henzo, I'm still your friend too, forever under the same flag" he smiled.

"Rapanui" Henzo choked as his eyes started to water.

"Well isn't that sweet" I softly smiled.

"Also," Rapanui suddenly started, "I may have forgotten to mention this, Straw Hats, but you're all under arrest."

"What?!" we shouted in shock.

"You're heartless!" Usopp snapped. "You still owe me for feeding you that time, you jerk—remember?!" he hissed, already hiding behind Zoro for protection.

"I mean, they're still Marines after all" I sighed, rubbing the back of my head.

"That's right, and as a Marine, I'm charged with upholding justice—I can't just let a pirate with a bounty on his head getaway" Rapanui nodded. "However, it can't be—right now we must take Wetton and his crew to Marine Headquarters! But if we do that then the Straw Hat Pirates will be able to get away!" he realized. "There's just too much for us to handle right now, what are we going to do?" he asked, his calm exterior quickly changing to one of a man who was now being put under too much pressure in an overexaggerated way.

"I know, request assistance from Marine Base at once! But no, that would give the pirates plenty of time to escape!" he frowned. "Argh! Dammit!" he dramatically cried in distress, causing the corners of my lips to twitch upwards. "Ah, I guess there's nothing I can do now" he decided before taking off running.

"Very convincing, isn't he?" everyone sweat dropped as I softly chuckled.

-Later-

"You know? That place was pretty awesome, wasn't it?" Luffy grinned, waving bye to Henzo and them as we finally set sail away from the small island of Ruluka.

"Ugh! I think I've had enough of that ship graveyard" Nami groaned as I sat down on top of the railing and watched Zoro lift some dumbbells.

"You're only saying that because you lost all your treasure" I teased, giving a wide smile when the ginger shot me a nasty glare.

"Shut up..." she grumbled, crossing her arms and silently huffing as she turned her attention elsewhere.

"Well, it's not like I want to live there, but it would be nice to visit" Luffy remarked.

"Yeah" I hummed in agreement.

"I can't believe you two actually enjoyed that" Chopper frowned before owlishly blinking when something suddenly bounced off the top of his head.

"Is that rain?" Zoro asked as more stuff started to fall from the sky and rain down onto the ship. Reaching my hands upwards, I quickly clasped them together when I felt whatever it was that was raining down on us touch my palm.

"Huh? A chunk of wood?" I questioned, brows furrowed in confusion as I rolled the piece around between my fingers—holding it up to my line of sight as if to really make sure I was seeing things correctly.

"Wood?" everyone echoed.

"She's right" Sanji agreed, catching a piece himself to look at it before looking upwards as a large shadow suddenly blanketed over the ship. "That's interesting, it looks like a…oh…" he trailed off as we finally spotted the fully intact ship that was now falling towards us.

That's when the screaming started.

"Grab ahold of something! Whatever you do, don't let go!" Zoro shouted as he roughly pulled me off the railing and onto the ground where he then caged me between it and him.

"Why are there ships falling out of the sky?!" Nami cried, clinging onto the mast of the ship for dear life.

"I don't know, maybe the captain got lost?" I suggested, wincing as a chunk of wood hit the back of my head.

"Now's not the time for joking around, Skylar!" the ginger snapped as Luffy loudly laughed and Robin gave a small chuckle at my joke. Smugly smiling upon seeing that at least two people appreciated my humor, I looked back at the navigator and stuck out my tongue at her which she gladly returned the gesture.

"I know, this is just a bad dream!" Usopp whimpered.

"Great, I love dreams!" Chopper quickly agreed, already in denial before groaning as the sharpshooter harshly fell on top of his head.

"Heads up! I don't think the party's over yet—it won't stop falling!" Sanji shouted as I found myself now clinging to Zoro's shirt as he leaned over me to create more of a shield between the debris and me.

"The rudder! Turn the rudder!" Nami quickly instructed as Zoro stood up.

"That'll never work in these waves!" he argued as I tilted my head back to look up at him.

"So what? We're just supposed to stay here like sitting ducks until this whole thing is over?" I asked.

"Yes, that's our only option right now" he nodded.

"But what about the ship?" I frowned.

"Too late to argue that now" Sanji said. "Luffy! You got to protect the ship—she's taking a beating!" he called over to the captain.

"Right!" he nodded. "Usopp!"

"I cast aside my worries and reach deep within to find my happy places" Usopp hummed, now sat crisscross with his hands clasped together and eyes closed as if trying to find a sense of peace amongst all this chaos. "And when I open my eyes, the serene landscape is all that will lie out before me..." he only screamed the minute his eyes opened and he caught sight of the skeleton that was falling straight toward him. "Ah! A skeleton dead guy!"

"Cool!" I awed as I watched him throw the sack of bones away from him and in a random direction.

"Don't throw that nasty thing at me, you idiot!" Nami snapped.

"Yeah, throw it over here to me!" I grinned.

"They're falling everywhere!" Sanji pointed out as even more skeletons started to rain from the sky.

"I'm surrounded by the dead!" Usopp cried.

"It's just the dead, wait until they start moving then you can really start freaking out!" I laughed.

"That's not funny!" Usopp and Nami snapped.

-Later-

"Alright, why did a ship just fall out of the sky?" Luffy asked once everything had calmed down as he tilted his head back.

"Captain error?" Sanji suggested.

"It's like I said, maybe the captain got lost" I said.

"The sky is clear, who knows?" Zoro shrugged as I threw my head back to stare up at the clear blue sky.

"I knew coming to the Grand Line was a mistake, it freaks me out..." Usopp muttered. "First, we travel over a ship graveyard and now they're falling out of the sky, complete with skeletons" he shivered as he and Chopper now clung to one another.

"Huh?" Nami blinked as she stared down at the Log Pose in confusion.

"What's wrong, Nami? Problem?" Sanji asked.

"Oh no! The Log Pose is broken—it's pointing into the sky!" she gasped.
