-Chapter Ninety-One-

"Yeah, but we couldn't pull a ship up from the bottom—I think we'll have to come up with a more refine plan" Robin nodded.

"What do you suppose we do?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as she only smiled.

-Later-

"You all look ridiculous" I softly chuckled even as I nervously eyed the group.

"You think so?" Luffy happily laughed as he, Zoro, and Sanji now stood around in their makeshift scuba gear. "This is an adventure!" he grinned. "I know I've done more dangerous things, but I can't remember what!" he brightly admitted, causing Zoro to lowly growl in irritation.

"Nami! I swear to find you the answer or I will refuse to return!" Sanji promised.

"I'll hold you to that" Nami hummed.

"Usopp, you sure these makeshift scuba gear are...you know...safe?" I questioned, crossing my arms.

"Of course, these barrels are my special design, they've never busted—they'll be safe" the sharpshooter assured just as a gigantic fish jumped out of the water and devoured one of the passing-by birds in one gulp.

"I see..." I muttered, my stress slowly rising.

"Good luck, be careful" was all Nami said as she and the others continued to lower the three men down into the ocean. "We'll be pulling for you" she sweetly smiled as I sighed and leaned over the ship's railing to stare down at the water.

"You sure they'll be safe down there?" I muttered, jolting when she suddenly slapped her hand against my back in what I assumed was meant to be a reassuring pat as she gave me a wide smile.

"Of course! Those three are nothing short of monsters—a little time under the water isn't going to hurt them" she assured me.

"Yeah...I guess you're right..." I weakly smiled.

"This is Chopper here—can you guys call off?" Chopper asked, speaking into the makeshift microphone we had made so we could keep communication with one another. He did this while also doing his best to keep a tight hold on the breaker that the ropes wrapped around the men were attached to.

"This is Luffy, there's a ton of monsters down here" Luffy responded.

"Wrong enough, it's just Sea Snakes" Zoro corrected, not even bothering to say his name.

"This is Sanji and they're staring at me" Sanji answered.

"That means they like you" I joked in an attempt to lighten my mood.

"Keep going" Nami ordered.

"They could die!" Usopp suddenly cried out as he stared at the navigator with wide eyes.

"W-what?" I choked. "I thought you said they'd be safe down there?!" I shouted.

"I already told you, they'll be fine, Usopp, Skylar—don't worry" Nami once again reassured us. "And Chopper, hold that break tightly" she instructed.

"Right" the reindeer nodded.

"I'm so glad they didn't make me go" Usopp sighed in relief, wiping the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand.

After that, it seemed to grow quiet as the only sounds that we now heard came from the few birds that flew by. Though that silence was soon interrupted by the sound of chanting.

"What's all that noise?" the sharpshooter curiously asked as he used his goggles to help him look around for the source of the sound.

"Sounds like a bunch of people repeating the word…salvage?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow as I cupped my ears in an attempt to listen closely.

"Company haul!" a loud, boisterous voice ordered which was then followed by the sound of a whistle being blown as a large and very unique-looking ship came to a halt right in front of us.

"Alright, sir!" the men on the ship exclaimed.

"Are we on top of the place where the ship sank?" the voice from earlier asked.

"Aye, aye! Captain, sir!" the men saluted.

"When they say, "Captain, sir," they're talking about me" a rather large monkey suddenly appeared in view. "Prepare to raise ship! What lies on the bottom now belongs to the King of all Salvagers, captain of the Masira Pirates—Masira!" he grinned.

"Great, a boat of unstable men led by an unstable monkey" Nami sweat dropped.

"We sure do meet a bunch of interesting characters out here on the Grand Line" I giggled.

"Tell me about it..." she muttered, rolling her eyes.

"And what are you guys doing here? In case you didn't know, all these waters belong to me" Masira stated the second he finally spotted our ship.

"They do?" Nami skeptically questioned.

"Didn't know you could own water" I raised an eyebrow, placing my hands on my hips.

"Yeah, that's right, every vessel that sinks in these parts automatically becomes mine—you're not trying to take something that belongs to me, are you?" Masira questioned, gaze now narrowed in suspicion.

"So he's going to bring it to the surface? Easier for us" Robin remarked.

"But not for the three guys already in the water" Usopp whispered as he ducked behind the contraption we were using to lower the guys.

"He's right, who knows what'll happen if they find Luffy and them down there..." I muttered.

"We should just keep our mouths shut and let him do it" Nami quietly cut in.

"Stop mumbling and answer me!" Masira snapped. "Are you people trying to take one of my salvages out from under me?!" he angrily shouted.

"Excuse me, can I ask you a question first?" Nami suddenly asked, taking the monkey aback for a few seconds.

"You got a question for me?" he inquired. "Fine, sure, whatever—ask me anything!" he huffed.

"Are you tough, good-looking men going to salvage that ship?" Nami asked with an innocent smile.

"What?" the monkey owlishly blinked before whistling as a smug look stretched across his face. "Thank you, I see you know what a real man looks like" he grinned while proudly puffing out his chest.

"What are you talking about?" Nami blinked with the tilt of her head.

"You called us all tough and good-looking, that includes me" Masira pointed out.

"Well, of course!" she widely smiled.

"Stop, you're making me blush" he bashfully smiled.

"This is disturbing..." Usopp muttered.

"Yeah, you can say that again" I nodded, rubbing the back of my head.

"So, are you going to salvage that thing or what?" the sharpshooter asked.

"Of course! I'm not King of all Salvagers for nothing!" Marisa boasted. "If there's a sunken ship for me, then I'll salvage it—if it's not sunken, then I'll sink it and salvage it later. Now I know how impressed you are, but we should save it, there's salvaging ahead" he said.

"He certainly thinks rather highly of himself..." I sweat dropped.

"What a loser..." Nami muttered. "Do you mind if we watch you big strong men work?" she asked, quick to do a one-eighty as she was now sweetly smiling up at the monkey and his men.

"Don't tell me you've never seen a professional salvage before!" Marisa laughed. "You just watch us to your heart's content!" he grinned.

"That's that, now we just have to wait and see what happens" Nami told us.

"I doubt any good is going to come out of this" I sighed.

"Why do you say that?" she questioned.

"Why do you think I said that?" I deadpanned before our attention was quickly drawn toward the sound of weak coughing and painful moans.

"Below…in the water…there's a…" one of the crew members on the monkey's ship weakly began.

"Captain, we have a problem!" another frantically called out.

"What is it?" Marisa asked.

"Something happened to the guys who went under the water to set the cradle!" the man explained.

"Was it one of those Sea Kings again?" Marisa asked.

"I don't think so, it looks like someone went to town on them with their fist" the man pointed out, shaking his head.

"What?! You mean someone else besides our guys are down there?!" Marisa frowned.

"This was to be expected" I sighed.

"I'm going to kill them!" Nami growled.

"You may not get the chance..." Usopp nervously muttered.

"Listen, you!" Marisa suddenly shouted, quick to turn his attention back toward us which in turn caused both Nami and Usopp to grow tense with fear. "There's someone else down there, so be careful!" he warned.

"Oh...sure" Nami nodded as she and Usopp nervously smiled back at the monkey, pretending to be thankful for this warning he has given us.

"Not the brightest tool in the shed it seems" I sweat dropped as everyone else made small sounds of agreement.

"I want all hands setting the cradle!" Marisa ordered. "The ship comes up in twenty minutes, we've got salvaging to do!" he huffed, still persistent in getting that ship above water despite the dangers that now lurked underwater.

"Aye, aye, captain!" the men saluted.

"Okay, he's waving at us—smile and wave back I guess, just act normal" Nami quietly instructed when she saw that Marisa had started happily waving toward us. With a gentle smile, I gave a small wave back in return before sighing as my gaze settled back down on the water.

"Doing my best..." Usopp grumbled as he waved also.

"Don't get stage fright, fellows—they're only observers! They want to see something new, so show them how it's done!" Marisa grinned. "If you're still nervous, try picturing them in their underwear" he snickered, causing his men to burst out laughing. "Drop the cradle!" he ordered.

"Aye, aye!" the men saluted.

"Keep your eyes peeled for those intruders!" he told them.

"Aye, aye, sir!" they repeated.
