-Chapter One Hundred and Four-

"If I follow the coast, will that take me all the way back to Mock Town?" Luffy asked.

"Yes, I believe it will" Robin nodded.

"Hey, where are you going?!" Cricket called out as soon as Luffy started to walk away. "Don't be an idiot! You can't possibly take on this Bellamy guy all by yourself!" he frowned just as he started to stand, only to stop when Zoro suddenly held out one of his swords.

"If you want to stop him, use this..." the swordsman muttered.

"I doubt that'd be enough to stop him" I said, crossing my arms.

"Kid! Don't do it!" Cricket shouted after the captain.

"I'll be back by morning, guys" Luffy said, cracking his knuckles as Nami heaved a dejected sigh. Her shoulders now slumping in defeat when she realized there was no reasoning with the captain as his mind was clearly made up. Shaking her head, she frowned before going straight into explaining to him a few things that she felt were important for him to know before he left. Luffy only nodded in return, barely even looking like he was listening to a word she said before finally, he took off the second her mouth stopped moving.

-Later-

"Fix the ship, monkey crew! Fix the ship! Bang the nails, monkey crew! Bang the nails!" Masira and Shoujou's men chanted as they diligently worked on the ship. "Saw the wood, monkey crew! Saw the wood!" it was like a ritual the way that they chanted as they worked.

"Wow, these guys must be pretty tough" Usopp said in awe as he watched the men work. "They were just beaten unconscious and now they're fixing the ship—either they're the world's fastest healers or Chopper's the world's best doctor" he said as he peeked over towards the reindeer that was currently on Cricket's back and watching as said man cut a piece of wood.

"Why not both? Although, Chopper is a pretty great doctor" I smiled.

"Why didn't you go with Luffy?" Nami scowled, currently hovering around Zoro who was busy fixing the mast.

"What? What's with you?" Zoro frowned. "Fight, don't fight. Go, don't go. Do this, no do that—make up your mind already" he irritably huffed.

"Huh? You're scared?" Nami questioned. "Those guys did beat you pretty good around the first time" she sneered.

"That's what you think? You don't get it..." Zoro grumbled. "They didn't beat us—refusing a fight doesn't mean we were afraid. When there's no reason to fight the only way to win is to stand down" he calmly explained.

"Oh, I see, stand down—real brave" Nami nodded, sounding unamused as she rolled her eyes.

"You don't know anything about fighting! Just shut up!" Zoro snapped, angrily banging a fist against the mast.

"Don't tell me to shut up like it matters! You never listen anyway!" Nami snapped right back as she too angrily hit the mast. It didn't take long for the two to start arguing while abusing the ship at the same time. Usopp tried to intervene in an attempt to stop them from further damaging the Going Merry, but the two simply ignored him.

"Nami" I calmly said, gently taking her wrist and stopping her from hitting the mast any further as I stepped between her and Zoro.

"What?" she glared as I grabbed her other hand and now held them both in my own, gently rubbing the back of them with my thumbs.

"You need to calm down—you're clearly stressed out" I softly spoke, watching as that frown of hers deepened. "I know what Zoro's saying doesn't make sense, but to him and many others who fight regularly, it does. There's no point in arguing about this, not when time is running short and we need to get the ship finished before Luffy returns" I gently smiled, causing her to grumble under her breath in response before turning away with a huff. "And you" I quickly whirled around with a displeased look on my face.

"Me?" Zoro questioned, drawing back from the finger I jabbed in his direction.

"Can you at least try not to upset her—we're about to attempt something really crazy and I think it's best just to let her let some steam off" I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Now, get back to work, Also, please stop hitting the mast—I think you and Nami almost gave Usopp a heart attack there" I scolded before my smile returned when I saw the swordsman blush a little as he lowly grumbled before returning to his work.

-Later-

"Where the heck is that rubbery, bug-eyed idiot? This is just like him!" Nami scowled as she impatiently tapped her foot while keeping a lookout for Luffy, occasionally looking toward the ever-rising sun. "Didn't we all agree to be here over forty-five minutes ago? We're going to miss the current!" she huffed. "I'm sure the genius didn't even stop to consider how the gold would weigh him down—why does he always insist on making everything ten times harder?!" she angrily ranted.

"The only schedule Luffy's concerned about is his own" Usopp pointed out.

"Yeah, he's got a point there" Sanji agreed.

"Well, it's Luffy, so it makes sense" I nodded.

"You don't think someone in town beat him up?" Chopper worriedly asked.

"What? You mean that Bellamy guy?" Usopp raised an eyebrow.

"Well, if Bellamy didn't beat him up, you better believe I will" Nami seethed while threateningly holding up a fist.

"Oh? Is that right, tough girl?" Zoro scoffed from beside me.

"Don't start..." I mumbled, elbowing him in the gut and causing him to grunt.

"Hey!" Luffy shouted, hurriedly running toward us with a bag of Cricket's stolen gold thrown over his shoulder

"Look there! He's back—I knew he'd make it!" Masira grinned.

"I did it, you guys!" Luffy happily cheered, suddenly holding up a rather large beetle.

"Luffy, hurry up! We're almost behind schedule!" Sanji shouted.

"Look, it's a Hercules! It took me forever to find it!" Luffy excitedly sparkled as he showcased the bug he had in his hand.

"Good job!" I smiled, chuckling when I saw the way he brightened at the praise.

"You're kidding me..." Nami groaned.

"Are you crazy?!" Usopp snapped as the captain skidded to a halt the second he caught sight of the ship.

"Whoa! That's awesome!" he gaped in awe.

"Introducing the Going Merry: Flying Edition!" Usopp proudly grinned as he showcased the ship.

"It can fly?!" the captain eagerly asked.

"I know, they built it just for us!" Usopp happily nodded as he pointed toward Masira and his crew. I couldn't help but laugh as Luffy and the crew started to act like monkeys to showcase their happiness and appreciation.

"Morons..." Sanji grumbled.

"Something about it kind of makes me uneasy" Nami confessed as she warily looked at the ship.

"Well for once, I agree with you" Zoro nodded. "Chickens don't even know how to fly, they should have made it a pigeon" he said.

"Really? That's your problem with it?" I sweat dropped.

"What's that got to do with anything, you dope?!" Nami snapped.

"It's time to set sail—come on! If you're with me, let me hear it!" Usopp shouted as Masira and his crew cheered.

"What are you waiting for? Get on board, less you plan on missing your chance to the sky like a fool" Cricket grinned.

"Thanks for the ship!" Luffy smiled.

"Thank them, they built it" Cricket motioned toward the two primates and their men.

"Yeah! Thanks for the ship, you guys—you can have my Hercules!" Luffy offered as he held up the beetle in his hand.

"Really? You mean it—are you sure?" Shoujou asked.

"That's so kind of you!" he and his men cried.

"Alright, enough of this foolishness! We don't have much time!" Masira huffed, now starting to get serious.

"Follow us! We'll lead the way!" Shoujou offered.

"Come on, Luffy—let's go!" Usopp shouted to the captain.

"Coming!" he responded as he finally made his way toward the ship.

"Saruyama!" Cricket called as he straightened his posture and looked to the primates and their men.

"Aye!" they all exclaimed, letting him know he had their full attention.

"I'm counting on you men—I don't care what happens, you give our friends here everything you've got!" Cricket smiled as he listened to the men cheer in response.

"Time to set sail!" Luffy cheered as he pulled himself up onto the ship.

"You heard him, shove off!" Nami ordered.

"Alright!" Usopp nodded.

"Yes, Nami!" Sanji lovingly cooed as he and the sharpshooter set off to work on pulling up the anchor, allowing the waves to start carrying the ship away from the shore.

"Well, kid, looks like this is where we part ways" Cricket remarked.

"Yep" Luffy nodded with a smile.

"There's only one thing you've got to remember above everything else" the old man suddenly said.
