Amelia's instincts and gut feelings told her who might be the mastermind of this plot.

"Something is telling me Dolohov is the mastermind behind this," said Amelia in a businesslike voice, "Therefore, I shall interrogate him first."

"Dolohov was always one of the cruelest and most ruthless Death Eaters," shuddered Sirius.

"Yes," agreed Remus at once, "Back in the day, he had a Dark Spell entirely of his own making that only he knew about that he used to inflict pain and damage upon people. The spell would shoot purple flames at the victim as Dolohov slashed his wand. It always took weeks, not to mention loads of potions, for his victims to recover."

"Dolohov's specialty spell is mentioned in The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts, " piped up Hermione, "But it doesn't seem to have a name."

"He wouldn't want anyone being a Beastly Copy Cat and replicating his work," suggested Susan.

"He was always known to have a big ego back in the day," said Arthur matter of factly.

"Dad always said that Dolohov thought highly of himself and thought he, not Lucius or Bellatrix, should be Lord Voldemort's top lieutenant," said Ginny slowly.

"If his ego is so big?" wondered Harry, "Why isn't he by himself? Why bring others?"

"He'd have no problem using other people to help him, so long as he got to perform the main act and got all the credit for any triumph," said Luna in an unusually serious voice.

"You are wise and thoughtful, Luna Lovegood," smiled Lily.

Let's get down to business then," said Amelia firmly, forcing a few drops of Veritasirum down Dolohov's throat before pointing her wand directly at Dolohov and unstunning him.

"What is your name?" Amelia asked Dolohov calmly,

"Antonin Dolohov, " said Dolohov simply.

"Why did you come to Zonko's today?" inquired Amelia.

"To find Harry Potter and bring him to the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord has found a way to return via an old piece of Dark Magic: a Resurrection Potion. One of the ingredients for this potion is blood of an enemy. The Dark Lord believes that Harry Potter's blood will make him stronger than anyone else's. See, with the recent deaths, captures, and exiles of the most prominent Death Eaters, an opening exists to become the Dark Lord's right hand man. I hoped to become the Dark Lord's favorite and be honored by him beyond the dreams of wizards. I wanted to capture Harry Potter and deliver him to the Dark Lord," spilled Dolohov.

"Why are the other Death Eaters with you then?" grilled Amelia.

"I figured that my chances of capturing Harry Potter increased if I brought help with me," revealed Dolohov, "I put them under the Imperius Curse so that they would follow me to Zonko's today. Whoever captured Harry Potter, if it wasn't me, would come with me when I apparated to the Dark Lord. I would make it clear to the Dark Lord that I was behind Harry's capture and delivery to him. Whoever had captured him would give me all the credit under the Imperius Curse and I would tell the Dark Lord I needed help carrying him. The Dark Lord would use Harry's blood in his Resurrection Potion and dispose of Harry afterward. I would then be honored by the Dark Lord beyond any and all imagination."

"Do you know why your plan failed?" wondered Amelia.

"It would have been much more likely to have been successful if Harry Potter had been on his own," said Dolohov ruefully, "I hadn't counted on him having five followers with him."

"I don't have followers," spat Harry very angrily, "I have friends."

Amelia had heard what she needed to hear and restunned Dolohov for the time being.

"Very few people go to Hogsmeade by themselves," interjected Luna, "That was pretty stupid to just expect someone to be in Hogsmeade alone."

"Most criminals aren't elite thinkers," said Amelia bluntly, "I have seen that over and over again."

"That's true," agreed Susan, "But I think the true downfall of most criminals and tyrants is their arrogance. They're so arrogant that they always assume their actions will have the results they want without even thinking about it."

"Well, " said Amelia wearily, "I was right about Dolohov being the mastermind of this plot. I suspect the other Death Eaters here are still Death Eaters and that they remain faithful to Lord Voldemort, but they are not responsible for being under the Imperius Curse. I will interrogate them as well. "
