Amelia decided to interview Yaxley next.

After feeding Yaxley some Veritaserum and then unstunning him, Amelia asked him, "Who are you?"

"Corban Yaxley, " replied Yaxley.

"Yaxley, Dolohov had you under the Imperius Curse to come here and help him capture Harry Potter and deliver Harry Potter to Lord Voldemort in the hopes that using Harry Potter's blood would help Lord Voldemort return to power and a body via a Resurrection Potion. Is this something you would have attempted on your own?" asked Amelia.

"No," said Yaxley, "The Dark Lord is finished, and Dolohov is wasting his time on false hopes believing that the Dark Lord can return. He'd be better off devoting his energies to trying to help rid our world of mudblood filth."

Hermione and Lily felt their insides churn a bit.

"You don't like muggleborns?" Amelia grilled Yaxley.

"Mudbloods are a stain on the magical community and are deserving of nothing but death, torture, and abandonment, " exclaimed Yaxley passionately, "I am a proud pureblood wizard descended through centuries of pureblood lineage. The Yaxleys are in fact one of the Sacred Twenty Eight."

Hermione and Lily had deeply uncomfortable looks on their faces now as muggleborns themselves. Harry, Ginny. Luna, and Susan, ever the loyal friends that they were, scowled at Yaxley, pissed to hear the degrading of people that were close friends of theirs. Arthur, Sirius, and Remus also looked angry, which they were as they were thinking of the other Lily that was no longer in existence thanks to the combination of Voldemort and her own sacrifice.

"Did you attempt to find Lord Voldemort after his initial fall from power?" inquired Amelia.

"There was no point," said Yaxley calmly, "The Dark Lord is done."

Pointing over at Harry, Yaxley continued, "That boy defeated the Dark Lord and that's the bottom line whether I like it or not."

"You accept that Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort then?" asked Amelia.

"I don't have a choice, it's reality, and the Dark Lord can never come back. He is done, finished, plain and simple," said Yaxley.

"What have you been up to since the end of the war then?" wondered Amelia.

"Laying low," said Yaxley matter of factly, "I kept myself out of Azkaban by claiming to have served the Dark Lord under the influence of the Imperius Curse. Though, I had of course, joined of my own free will. You see, I supported the Dark Lord precisely because he was anti muggleborn."

"What role did you fulfill as a Death Eater?" questioned Amelia.

"I helped recruit other Death Eaters to the Dark Lord, I collected information for the Dark Lord that enabled him to dispose of muggle and mudblood filth, and on a few occasions, I applied the Imperius Curse upon other people for the benefit of the Dark Lord," spilled Yaxley.

"What are your future plans?" Amelia asked Yaxley urgently.

"I have been laying low since the end of the war to keep myself out of trouble. When Harry Potter ended the Dark Lord, the Death Eaters were disbanded. As it was publicly known that I had been a Death Eater, I had to lay low to avoid arousing suspicion. If I had attempted anything drastic, I'd have likely landed myself a one way ticket to Azkaban," said Yaxley bluntly. "I cannot hope that another Dark Lord will emerge. I have been living my life as a normal wizard since the war ended. I am, however, waiting to pounce on the right opportunity the nanosecond it presents itself to me."

"What is the right opportunity for you then?" Amelia prodded Yaxley.

"The rise of a new Dark Leader that I can serve," answered Yaxley instantly.

"You don't want to be the Dark Leader yourself then?" Amelia asked Yaxley to confirm.

"Being the leader is always the most dangerous," reasoned Yaxley, "The leader is always the main target of the opposition. It's much lower risk to be a follower. And, well, as a follower, you can always jump ship if things don't work out and you can go back to the life you had before if that leader snuffs it."

"You like the idea of being a follower though?" questioned Amelia.

"I like the feeling that I have influence over the leader and I adore the idea that I can contribute to ridding our world of the taint and stain of mudblood filth, but, I don't want to be the driver, I prefer to be the passenger," explained Yaxley, "Dolohov would actually be a great candidate to be our new Dark Leader if he wasn't wasting his time on false hopes. He either doesn't understand or doesn't accept that the Dark Lord is dead and can never come back."

Feeling she had heard enough, Amelia restunned Yaxley and said, "I think all former Death Eaters are going to have to be retired. The Imperius Curse claims appear to be false in many cases."

"That is absolutely necessary, " agreed Arthur, "I get the impression that the overwhelming majority of them are guilty without circumstance."

"Yaxley sounds like a coward," piped up Harry, "He took all the cushy and comfortable jobs like recruiting and collecting information while leaving others to do the dirty work."

"He was never known as brave or proactive back in the day," explained Arthur, "Though he always had that passion for hating muggleborns."

"it's disgusting," spat Harry disapprovingly, "Muggleborns are capable of being good people and being gifted witches and wizards."

Harry now pointed directly at Hermione and Lily.

"Not to mention your own mother," added Sirius.

"I don't suspect Yaxley is dangerous at this time or by himself, "said Amelia slowly, "But, he will have to be retried. He could become a bigger threat if the next Grindelwald or Voldemort emerges in his lifetime."

"Hermione, Lily," said Harry fiercely, "Don't listen to what that scum said about people like you. You are both among the best witches attending Hogwarts and both of your friendships are priceless to me."

"Hermione and Lily would wipe the floor with most purebloods in a contest of magical skill," declared Ginny.

"Hermione, Lily, we've always got your backs no matter what," promised Susan.

"Hermione, Lily, if anyone hurts either of you or even threatens either of you we'll knock them out cold with our bare hands," promised Luna.

"You are loyal and faithful, Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, Susan Bones, and Luna Lovegood," smiled Lily.

"Yes, they are," agreed Hermione.

"There were a number of Death Eaters who only joined Voldemort because of the pureblood ideology," said Amelia matter of factly, "Yaxley is clearly one of them."
