-Chapter One Hundred and Eighteen-

"Do nothing, huh? That's it!" Usopp grinned as he snapped his fingers. "Now all we have to do is hope we don't get charged for loitering—okay, nap time!" and with that, he fell back and instantly relaxed into the clouds as if ready to doze off. Chopper, Luffy, and even Zoro seemed to follow his lead, laying down as well and letting their eyes close as if they all were ready to fall asleep right then and there.

"You sure this plan is better? Sleeping?" I questioned while resting the palms of my hands against my knees as I peered down at the four.

"Of course! What can we possibly do to break the law if we're asleep?" Usopp yawned. I didn't respond and instead opted to look toward Captain McKinley, watching how his eye started to twitch in irritation as the four started to snore.

"How dare they make such a racket on Angel Beach!" he angrily growled. "Listen up! You are all in violation of Skypiea's noise pollution statics which is a sixth-degree crime!" he snapped.

"You mean we can't even snore?" Usopp grounded out in pure irritation.

"That's stupid! You can't help if you snore or not" I frowned.

"Enough already!" Luffy snapped as he bolted upright. "Let's put a beating on this beret-wearing freak!" he growled, already looking ready to start a fight.

"Yeah, let's" Zoro agreed.

"Stop it! Guys, cool down!" Usopp quickly begged. "Let's sit down and take a breather, okay? Zoro, Luffy, Chopper, and Skylar? There's no reason for us—"

"I'm back!" Nami's loud voice cut the sharpshooter off as she came riding toward us on the Sky Waver, finally making her reappearance.

"Nami, baby! I missed you!" Sanji wildly waved his arms around as he called out to the navigator with a love-struck expression.

"Thank goodness, she's alright" I sighed in relief upon seeing the ginger safe and sound.

"Luffy! Promise you won't start any trouble, okay?" she suddenly called out much to my surprise, I hadn't expected that to be her first concern upon reappearing.

"I don't know if I can keep that promise" Luffy frowned as he clenched his jaw in irritation and continued to glare at McKinley and his men.

"Hey, Nami! We need you to fork up 80,000,000 belis from your stash to pay for all the fines we've got!" Usopp called out to the woman without a second thought.

"Uh...do you think now is the right time to tell her about the fines?" I asked.

"Why wouldn't it be?" Usopp asked, tilting his head.

"Oh good, we pay the fine and we're clear" Nami gave a strained smile before her eyes narrowed.

"Because she has a look of murder on her face" I pointed out.

"Did he say 80,000,000?!" she hatefully glowered as the waver started to pick up speed.

"What?" McKinley blinked in confusion the minute he heard the roar of the Sky Waver nearby.

"You're ripping us off!" Nami snapped in frustration, ramming the waver straight into the man's face and sending him flying. "Oh crap! I was so pissed off, I forgot to hit the brakes" she gasped in realization once she calmed down enough to properly think.

"Ouch!" Zoro and Usopp hissed.

"Bit too rough there" I winced.

"Captain?!" the White Berets worriedly cried as they all quickly huddled around their captain.

"Hey, thanks for letting me use your waver—I love the way it handles" and just like that, Nami's worries disappeared as she turned her attention to Pagaya, smiling as she handed the Sky Waver back over to him.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it, but more importantly, do you realize how much trouble you are in right now?" Pagaya worriedly asked.

"Captain?" one of the White Berets called out as they all started to fret over an unconscious McKinley.

"Guys, let's make ourselves scarce" Nami said.

"Aw, aren't you going to finish the fight you just started?" Luffy whined.

"I wouldn't really call what she did a fight" I sweat dropped. "More like a hit and run."

"Trust me, this Eneru guy is someone we don't want to mess with" Nami said.

"I assume that's another crime on our records" Zoro guessed as he motioned towards McKinley's unconscious body.

"Oh yes, quite—knocking out an official is a crime of the fifth-degree" Pagaya nodded.

"Fifth, huh? Could be worse" Usopp said with a shrug, not sounding all that concerned that we had finally made our way up to a fifth-degree offense in just one day.

"That's not good at all!" Conis stressed. "Once you're found guilty of committing a fifth-degree crime, almighty Eneru will banish you to the land of the Drifting Clouds!" she worriedly cried.

"How's that bad?" Usopp questioned.

"Land of the Drifting Clouds? That sounds like fun!" Luffy grinned.

"It's a death sentence—you die!" Conis quickly clarified for us when she realized that no one was taking what she said seriously.

"We…we die?!" Nami, Usopp, and Chopper cried out.

"You really got him good, Nami" Zoro remarked. "But come on, a death sentence in God's land? That's quite a contradiction" he scoffed with the roll of his eyes.

"Not really surprising that there's a death sentence up here..." I muttered, feeling that such a revelation felt right at home here based on what little information we already knew about this place.

"But it's the truth! This is very serious—they'll put you and your ship on a small cloud and send you adrift on the sea with no hints of rescue or escape!" Conis explained in distress. "You'll eventually die a very slow and painful death! It's terrible!" she whimpered as she looked down and avoided all eye contact with us.

"Interesting, that must be why we saw that ship fall from the sky" Robin said, nodding in realization the longer she listened to the blonde.

"Wait...what are you talking about?" Usopp hesitantly asked.

"Don't you remember that galleon we saw falling? The Saint Briss I think it was called—for all we know, that crew could have been punished over two hundred years ago" Robin explained.

"With how little this place tells you about their laws, I don't doubt that's what happened..." I bitterly grumbled, crossing my arms.

"You criminals!" one of the White Berets angrily shouted.

"Do you scum know what you've done to our captain?!" another sneered.

"Who cares?" Sanji dismissively responded.

"Sanji, let me handle this" Nami said.

"Anything for you!" and just like that, the blond quickly backed down and allowed the ginger to take control of the situation.

"Don't take it so personally, it was a lucky shot" Nami said to the group of men.

"A lucky shot?" one of them glared.

"Completely unintentional" Nami assured them.

"You're lying!" another sneered.

"No, I'm telling you the truth—it was an accident, I swear" she reassured them with a sweet smile as she clapped her hands together and gave them all an innocent look.

"An accident?" they all questioned in disbelief.

"Uh...okay..." Nami muttered as she quickly tried to think of a better excuse to give them. "Guys, look," she began, "try wrapping your head around this—it was an accident because those wavers are hard to control and it was only my first time to ever pilot one, so I made a little mistake while I was turning" she explained. "I'll admit that makes me clumsy, but can you blame a beginner for messing up and nearly killing your boss?" she innocently asked.

"That's weird, seems like you had a pretty good handle on it to me" Luffy frowned, causing the navigator to swerve her head in his direction with a venomous glare as I lightly elbowed the captain's side.

"Shush" I hushed.

"Shut it, Luffy! Nami's trying to trick them into thinking it was an accident!" Usopp harshly whispered. "Don't blow it, okay?" he frowned as the ginger went back to speaking with the group of men, arguing her case as to why she was innocent.

"Alright" Luffy whispered, slowly nodding in understanding.

"Gentlemen, as important as your investigation is, perhaps it would be best to get the captain to a doctor first—just a thought" Pagaya suggested.

"Oh right, the captain!" the men gasped as their angry expressions melted away into ones of panic the minute they remembered their unconscious captain.

"Now, there's no need to panic, let's take him to my house" Pagaya suggested as he motioned for the men to follow him.

"We'll get right on that, heso!" one of the men exclaimed, making a weird hand gesture I had never seen before. "Consider yourselves under arrest—don't go anywhere, got it?" he told us before he and the rest of the men carried their captain off to Pagaya's home.

"The poor captain's bleeding!" one of them worriedly cried as they crawled away.

"Why are they crawling again? Can't they just carry him like normal people?" Sanji sweat dropped.

"Maybe it's easier that way for them" I suggested.

"You guys saved my life, so I know you're not as bad as they claim you are" Conis said. "So take this chance and get out of here" she told us before quickly running off after the men.

"Wait!" Usopp called out in an attempt to halt her leaving.
