Chapter 19: C.C Goes to School
Everything quiet down and became a bit more peaceful after Mao's demise.
Lelouch and Rin removed the intense security around Ashford Academy and the two of them went back in enjoying school with their friends in the Student Council.
Unfortunately these peaceful moments didn't last long when a certain immortal witch began attending Ashford Academy as an official student.
Lelouch and Rin introduced C.C to Milly, Shirley, Rivalz, Nina, Kaguya, Kallen and Rai.
C.C wore the female Ashford uniform with her lime green hair tied at her back in two low pigtails with white ribbons and white tights with black shoes.
"My name is Caterina Appiani. But I like to go by the name of C.C."C.C declared with a bow."It's a pleasure to meet all of you."
"C.C came from the homeland and recently moved into Area 11, but her test results are high."Rin exclaimed brightly."So she won't need a tutor or anything."
Lelouch looked at Milly.
"In that regard, please put her in the Student Council."Lelouch requested."If it is fine with you, Madam President."
"I won't refuse anyone who comes."Milly complemented and looked at C.C."Welcome to the Student Council, C.C. I'm the Principal's granddaughter, Milly Ashford."
"Hi. I'm Shirley Fenette."Shirley remarked."Nice to meet you."
"I'm Rivalz Cardemonde."Rivalz said with a wink."Pleasure to meet you."
"I'm Nina Einstein."Nina responded shyly."Hello."
Rin gestured to Kaguya, Kallen and Rai.
"And you already known my little cousin along with Kallen Stadtfeld and Rai Elrod."Rin remarked.
"Hi, C.C."Kaguya greeted with a wave.
Rai smiled while Kallen frowned slightly and gave a simple wave at the immortal witch.
"Ugh, Pizza Girl attending Ashford Academy?"Kallen thought in disbelief."This has to be some kind of joke."
Rivalz went over to C.C.
"So C.C do you need a tour around the academy?"Rivalz asked smugly."If you want I can-"
"No need."C.C said simply."Lelouch and Lynn already showed me."
"Oh, have they? That's good then."Rivalz said with a sheepish smile and thought."There goes my chance to start a thing with the new girl."
C.C notice a bunch of Pizza Hut boxes on the table.
"Do you guys eat pizza here as well?"C.C asked.
C.C went to sit down to take a slice of pizza to eat causing Lelouch, Rin and Kallen to become irritated in the process.
Of course, the witch had to ask that question.
"We usually do mostly because of Lelouch's gambling habits."Rivalz declared proudly.
"Pizza is alright, but that is nothing compared to Rin's sweets."Shirley admitted.
"When it comes to desserts, Rin is a super genius."Kaguya remarked brightly.
Rin blushed at Kaguya's words.
"You're exaggerating, Kaguya."Rin commented shyly.
Milly looked at C.C.
"But there's something I'm curious about."Milly admitted."What is Lelouch's relationship with you?"
"Milly, C.C doesn't-"Rin started.
"He made a promise about our future together."C.C declared.
This caused Milly, Shirley, Rivalz, Nina, Kallen, Rai and Kaguya to all become shocked.
"HUH?!"Milly, Shirley, Rivalz, Nina, Kallen, Rai and Kaguya gasped in unison.
Anger started raising within Rin at C.C's untrue respond while Lelouch irritatedly face palmed.
Rivalz glanced at C.C with a look of disbelief.
"Hold on!"Rivalz protested, slamming his hands on the table."A promise together as in a marriage promise?!"
Rai looked at Lelouch.
"So C.C is your fiancée?"Rai asked.
"What? No!"Lelouch snapped."That isn't what she's talking about! It's like a-"
Milly smirked."Like what?"
"It's complicated."Lelouch replied with a frown.
"That's one way to put it since I'm always in your bedroom."C.C complemented bluntly.
"HUH?!"Shirley, Rivalz, Nina, Kallen, Rai and Kaguya shouted in unison.
C.C simply ate another pizza slice while the mortals became more shocked (except for two that were losing their patience with the witch).
"What?!"Shirley shrieked."You and Lelouch sleep together?!"
Rai's face became utterly red, not knowing what to say while Kallen looked utterly repulsed though her face was almost red as her hair.
"Ha! Ha!"Milly chuckled."Ha! Ha!"
Milly laughed lightly, unable to contain her amusement.
"I guess my joke about Lelouch sleeping with girls was true."Milly sneered.
Nina blushed slightly at Milly's words as she looked at the floor.
"I had no idea Lelouch was into these types of things."Nina said softly.
"That is a surprise."Kallen responded in a gentle tone and thought annoyingly."Though this story is not even true."
Rivalz frowned and crossed his arms.
"Man, I'm jealous of you, Lelouch."Rivalz complemented and gave his friend a rather pervert-looking gaze."You've already taken the plunge. To think I only thought you were good with theories."
Lelouch began to more annoyed at his friends foolishly believing C.C's story.
"Our relationship is nothing like that all!"Lelouch scowled.
Kaguya gives Lelouch a strange smile.
"C.C is your mistress?"Kaguya asked with a mischievous smirk."So you do have experience. Is she part of your secret harem? Am I on the list by any chance?"
Lelouch cringed at the weird expression that Kaguya was giving him.
"She's kidding around!"Lelouch argued.
"No, I'm not."C.C declared.
Everyone was kept asking questions on C.C and Lelouch about their relationship (though the former prince was poorly protesting his innocence) that none of them realised Rin's anger was growing until-
"SHUT THE HELL UP ALL OF YOU!"Rin roared out in rage.
Lelouch, Milly, Shirley, Rivalz, Nina, Kallen, Rai and Kaguya were all silent and became nervous at Rin's sudden outburst.
Even Suzaku, who just came into the room while holding Arthur in his arms.
Rin took a deep breath and cleared her throat to speak to everyone in the room though deep down she was so angry that she would burst out swearing.
"What C.C is trying to say that me and Lelouch are her private tutors because she has trouble with her maths and have visited Lelouch and I in his room for study sessions. But she is too embarrassed to say it."Rin declared and shot an annoyed smile at the immortal witch."Is that right, C.C?"
C.C looked at Rin for a moment before a smug smirk appeared on her face at the brunette's utterly angry red face.
"You can say that, Rossellini."C.C said with a unfazed tone.
"OH!"Milly, Shirley, Rivalz, Nina, Kallen, Rai and Kaguya responded in unison.
Lelouch rubbed his forehead in slight relief as everyone went back to what they were doing before he and Rin introduced C.C to them.
"Obviously, the Student Council will raise questions about how I know C.C."Lelouch thought irritatedly."Explaining the witch's lack of common sense is too troublesome. If we dodged the question, it would've only brought more weird misunderstanding."
Suzaku then spoke up to earn his friends' attention.
"Hi, guys."Suzaku greeted."What's going on?"
"Hey, Suzaku."Milly said with a wave.
Kaguya excitedly went over to Suzaku.
"Hi, Suzaku. Guess what?"Kaguya responded."We have a new student. This is Caterina Appiani, but she wants everyone to call her, C.C."
Suzaku glanced at C.C, only to become shocked.
"That's the girl from the capsule in Shinjuku!"Suzaku thought in disbelief."She's the new student?!"
Both Lelouch and Rin became worried at Suzaku seeing C.C, but the immortal witch was calm and didn't seem bothered at seeing the pilot of the Lancelot.
"Hello."C.C answered slightly."So you're Suzaku? Lelouch and Lynn told me about you."
Suzaku snapped out of his shock at hearing the way C.C spoke to him.
"H-Hello, C.C. It's nice to meet you too."Suzaku replied with a smile and thought."It can't be her. The girl from the capsule looked scared and wore prison clothes. No way it can't be her-"
Suzaku then cried out in shock when Arthur bit his thumb.
"What's the matter, Arthur?"Kaguya cooed."Don't you like your food?"
"Arthur, why do you always do this?!"Suzaku groaned.
Kaguya simply took Arthur in her arms as Suzaku rubbed his bitten thumb.
"You were never popular or fond with cats, Suzaku."Kaguya complemented."Must because you always follow the rules."
Suzaku brought his attention on Rin.
"So Rin, what was your shouting all about?"Suzaku asked in confusion."And why is your face so red?"
Rin sent Suzaku a flashing glare since she was not the mood to answer his questions.
"Don't ask unless you want to become my punching bag again."Rin grumbled darkly.
Suzaku chuckled nervously at Rin's respond, not wanting to get to her bad side like he did many times when they were young kids.
"Never mind."Suzaku replied and put his hands up in defence before he brought his attention on Lelouch."Hey, Lelouch. About the Maths Exam-"
Milly and C.C share a smirk with each other, but didn't say anything.
At the Government Bureau…
Nonette was in her room and looking through reports based on Jeremiah and the Pure Bloods attempt to execute Suzaku over the murder of Prince Clovis before he was ordered by Zero to hand him over to him.
However, Jeremiah then protested his innocence and that he didn't remember allowing Zero and his comrades to escape with Suzaku in their custody.
That was strange.
The Knight of Nine frowned at the report in her hands.
Jeremiah was so loyal to Britannia that he didn't want to receive further shame as it had now been twice that he allowed members of the Royal Family to be killed.
After all, his first mission was as a soldier eight years ago to were he was assigned as a guard at the Aries Imperial Villa.
But because of Cornelia's order by Empress Marianne, a minimum number of guards were on duty that day and were not able to defend her from rebels.
Jeremiah did regret not being able to protect Empress Marianne and he was later send here in Area 11 after Lelouch and Nunnally were exiled to the foreign land.
Not long after he ambitiously continued his work in order to regain his former honour for Prince Clovis and Empress Marianne.
Yet, Jeremiah then automatically ordered Suzaku to be let freed after Zero told him to and allow Prince Clovis' killer escape.
What changed?
The more Nonette thought about it, an unusual thought came into her mind.
It sounded impossible, but what if Zero had some kind of supernatural power.
"It sounds completely impossible beside science fiction. But what else explains Jeremiah's sudden change of behaviour and memory loss?"Nonette thought with a frown."Perhaps, I should start with looking through on Prince Clovis' plot behind ordering the massacre of Shinjuku before reporting my thoughts to Nellie. I may find something there."
In the Gym Hall of Ashford Academy…
Mr Owens was letting the girls of the middle class practice their volleyball skills.
Kaguya practiced her spikes by jumping up and down by the net and to hit a volleyball that was coming at her by a girl with pale blue that was braided in a ponytail that rested on her right shoulder named Trista that was at the other side of the net.
Like Trista and the other girls in the gym, the Head of the Sumeragi Clan wore a white polo shirt with a dark green collar, dark green shorts, navy blue socks and black pumps. Her black hair was tied in a high ponytail with a red scrunchie.
Kaguya made sure the ball did not touch the ground on her side of the gym and focused on getting the ball to her opponent's ground.
When the ball came her way, Trista accidentally tripped and missed hitting the ball causing it to hit the side she stood.
"Are you okay, Trista?"Kaguya asked.
"I'm fine, Kaguya."Trista assured with a soft smile."Thanks."
Kaguya helped Trista up as Mr Owens to blow his whistle to end the session.
"Alright, girls!"Mr Owens declared."That's it for today!"
The girls headed out of the gym to get changed as Kaguya made her way to Mr Owens.
"How did I do, Mr Owens?"Kaguya asked.
"I'm so far impressed with you, Lady Kaguya."Mr Owens praised."You might end up being the next Ace of this team if you continue working hard."
Kaguya smiled and bowed at Mr Owens.
"Thank you, Mr Owens."Kaguya thanked.
An excited grin appeared on Kaguya's face as she snapped her fingers.
"Yes!"Kaguya sneered and snapped her fingers."Now that I officially joined the school's volleyball team, we're sure to win the national championship this year!"
Kaguya laughed joyfully before heading off to the changing room.
In the Kitchen Area of Ashford Academy…
Rin and other members of the Cooking Club were making desserts based on their World Cuisine Monthly Project.
Rin baked a layer of cake sponge using basic powder, then put it at the bottom of a bowl and spread some fragrant western liquor syrup over it.
The brunette filled up the remaining space with white cream, nuts and fruits, then freeze it.
Finally, she flipped the bowl upside down to create a traditional cake in the shape of a cap after leaving it in the freezer for a while.
The brunette then presented her dessert to her companions.
"I present to you all, a Zuccotto."Rin declared proudly."A dome shaped cake that originated from Florence, Italy during the Renaissance. It looked like the hat of a priest, hence its name. It's a perfect combination of alchemy, sponge cake and half frozen cream."
The group then took their seats at a table in the room to enjoy the desserts and tea they made.
"Despite the popular belief about its name being inspired by the word for a priest's hat, zucchetto, the name literally means 'little pumpkin'."Rin exclaimed."It was actually named for its pumpkin-like appearance, the shape of which is said to have been inspired by the dome of the Florence Cathedral."
"I hate to admit it, but your sweets are out of this world, Lynn."Meeya declared kindly.
"Lynn is the only one here who can compare to our president, Meeya."Sophie complemented.
Rin smiled at her friends of the Cooking Club.
"You girls are complementing me too much."Rin chuckled and glanced at the fresh made desserts."Your sweets are lovely too. I think I might have seconds."
Just before Rin could use the spatula to pick another slice of Meeya's lemon drizzle cake, she notice a hand coming out from underneath the table to take a slice of her zucchetto.
The brunette looked underneath the table and saw the person hiding underneath the table was Alice, who was opening her mouth to eat the slice of her cake.
"Alice!"Rin snapped.
Alice flinched and saw Rin looking at her.
"Hey, Rin."Alice greeted with a grin.
"How many times do I have to tell you?"Rin retorted."You can't just come by and help yourself."
Instead of responding, Alice ate the slice of zucchetto cake in one gulp, leaving some cream in her mouth.
"Too late."Alice sneered.
Rin gritted her teeth in a chuckle.
"I've already yelled this morning and I'm not going to do it again for the second time."Rin retorted."Take a slice for Nunna and leave."
"Thanks, Rin."Alice thanked."You're so understanding."
Alice took the second slice of Rin's zucchetto before heading out of the room.
Outside the kitchen revealed Nunnally waiting outside for Alice.
"Thank you, Rin."Nunnally thanked gently.
"You're welcome, Nunna."Rin answered with a wry smile.
Alice and Nunnally headed off in the hallway as Sophie, Meeya and the other two girls of the Cooking Club laughed lightly at Rin's actions.
Rin groaned in exasperation.
"Alice may be a former Britannian spy, but she really likes ticking me off sometimes."Rin thought tiredly."But not as much as Pizza Girl though."
In Pendragon…
A pink haired girl sat down fiddling with her red phone in Elball Villa, the work place of Special Duty General Inspector Beatrice Franks.
The villa was supported by giant columns and carpeted in red with nary a speck of dust. With the exception of those who had explicit approval, only those who belonged to the royal household or the Knights of the Round were permitted in.
The girl was Anya Alstreim; the Knight of Six.
Anya was a beautiful young girl with a petite build, pale complexion and light pink hair tied up in a ponytail that always has thick strands of hair that falls next to her face and that also created bangs on her forehead, and a rouge-red eyes. She wore a semi-revealing outfit which consisted of a black crop-top with a golden crest of the Britannian Military placed in the center of it. On top of that, she wore a white vest-like garment that has a stiff collar pointing outwards, the back of her cloak was cut out to reveal her lower back, before joining back together above her hips, and splitting into two different leaf-like shapes and ending just below her knees. She also wore white shorts held up by a brown belt, black boots that cut below her knee cap with pink socks that reach her bottom thigh, notable bands of leather that encircle her leg above her socks and black gloves that were cut off at her elbows. There was a red tattoo on her upper-left arm.
But her face had a stoic, deadpan and uninterested expression which was similar to a person who suffered from depression.
To be more clear, Anya was actually suffering due to losing her memories for some reason.
The Knight of Six had no idea why, but sometimes she felt that someone was controlling her and the next thing after she found herself in a place that she didn't even remember going.
In a way, the pinkette actually felt like some kind of marionette doll which deep down terrified her.
"What the heck is wrong with me?"Anya thought.
Then Gino Weinberg, the Knight of Three, walked up to Anya.
Gino was a very tall young man and had a muscular build. He has blonde hair with three braids that were typically draped over his shoulder and blue eyes. He wore a traditional white knight uniform with black boots.
"I thought I would find you here."Gino remarked.
Anya looked at Gino with a blunt look.
"Hello, Gino."Anya said simply.
"Hey Anya, guess what?"Gino asked."We've got new orders from Emperor Charles. The two of us are going to Area 11."
"Area 11?"Anya asked.
"That's right."Gino chuckled."Unfortunately, Princess Cornelia is having trouble getting rid of Zero and the Black Knights even though Nonette is with her. So the Emperor wants us to go there to help them wipe out the little terrorists and even attend school there."
"Attend school?"Anya questioned."You mean Lord Ruben's academy?"
"That's right."Gino remarked."Is it great?"
Anya went back on fiddling with her red phone.
"Yeah."Anya said simply as she stood up."It sounds great."
Gino simply smiled at Anya's respond.
"You seriously need to lighten up, Anya."Gino sneered and wrapped his arm around Anya's shoulder."Ashford Academy could mean actual fun and be surrounded by numerous fans."
"Sure."Anya scoffed."But aren't you already dating Monica?"
Gino laughed lightly at Anya's question.
"Like I said, it will be fun."Gino complemented.
In the Computer Room of Ashford Academy…
Rivalz was looking through information in the computer while Lelouch, Shirley and Nina sat down nearby him.
"So what is that you wanted me to research, Lelouch?"Rivalz asked.
"People that used the Ganymede."Lelouch instructed."But famous people."
"Well, Milly's family did build that Knightmare."Shirley commented."So I guess there would've have been people who tested and/or purchased it."
"Wait, Milly's family used to be nobles, so why aren't they now?"Nina asked softly.
"Let's check it out."Rivalz insisted.
Lelouch didn't say anything as Rivalz began searching for Ganymede pilots.
The screen the showed several noblemen who used the Ganymede.
"Woah!"Rivalz said in surprise."Milly's family worked alongside the Imperial Family!"
Shirley and Nina looked at the screen, only for them to become astonished that a member of the Britannian Imperial Family did use the Ganymede.
And that was person was Empress Marianne.
"Empress Marianne vi Britannia."Nina read."An imperial consort of Emperor Charles."
"An Empress piloted the Ganymede?"Shirley gasped.
"That's so cool."Rivalz chuckled and became confused."But seriously how did Milly and her family support an Empress in the Homeland to running a school?"
"Look at Empress Marianne's info."Lelouch insisted with a frown."The answers are all there."
Rivalz did a web search on Empress Marianne and clicked the first link she got.
Lelouch held his breath as he started counting on his head.
"5, 4…"Lelouch thought.
"Empress Marianne vi Britannia, fifth wife of Emperor Charles zi Britannia"Rivalz replied, looking at the information on the computer."Mother of Prince Lelouch vi Britannia and Princess Nunnally vi Britannia."
"3, 2, 1…"Lelouch thought.
There was then a moment of silence as Rivalz, Shirley and Nina all then turned their heads to look at Lelouch with stunned expressions.
"Lelouch, you're a prince?!"Shirley gasped in awe.
"You and Nunnally are royalty?"Nina asked.
Lelouch smirked."That's right."
"Dude!"Rivalz responded in shock."Why didn't you tell me who you were?!"
"I had doubts in telling you guys because I feared that you guys would abandon me and Nunnally if you found out who we were."Lelouch exclaimed with a hint of guilt."But I've realised now that neither of you would ever do that since our friendship matters more than anything."
Rivalz, Shirley and Nina smiled at Lelouch.
"Of course, we would never abandon you and Nunna, Lelouch."Shirley remarked."You two are our friends."
Nina nodded."That's right."
"Hey, it's cool, Lelouch."Rivalz chuckled."We get it."
"Wait, but why are you two here instead of Pendragon?"Shirley asked.
"When my mother, Empress Marianne's assassinated, Nunnally was caught in the incident which caused her to end up losing her eyesight and legs."Lelouch explained and his frowned deepened."What's worse it is not known who the assassins are and when I went to confront the Emperor about it, he didn't care what happened and in return, I renounced my claim to the throne. But as the result, me and Nunnally were sent to Japan, now known as Area 11, as political tools."
"So that's how Nunnally lost her legs and eyes."Rivalz commented uncomfortably."By assassins that killed your mother."
"And your fath-I mean the Emperor didn't even care if your mother died and Nunna got injured?"Shirley said with a sad look.
"That is mean."Nina responded softly.
Lelouch nodded in agreement.
"Which is why I never wanted to reveal that me and Nunnally's relation to the royal family."Lelouch stated."Because there remains a possibility that we'll end up as political tools or casualty of royal ambition. But now that the three of you know like Milly, Rin, Kaguya, Suzaku, C.C, Kallen, Rai and Alice, will the three of you keep our secret?"
"Of course, Lelouch."Shirley assured."My lips are sealed."
"I promise not to tell anyone."Rivalz remarked.
"Me too."Nina agreed.
Lelouch smiled at his three friends.
"Thank you."Lelouch thanked."I knew I can count on you guys."
"Lelouch!"
Kaguya rushed up to Lelouch and hugged him by the arm.
"Lelouch, I need some help with some of the questions with my chemistry homework."Kaguya declared brightly."And since you are so smart, can you help me? Pretty please with a cherry on top?"
Kaguya gazed at Lelouch lovingly while he felt a little awkward.
"Well, you don't really need me, Kaguya."Lelouch stated with a sheepish smile."Rin can-"
Kaguya frowned, not happy with Lelouch's respond.
"I said you will help me."Kaguya retorted darkly."And I said please, didn't I?"
Lelouch sweat dropped. "Fine."
Kaguya's face immediately became bright and happy again as she led Lelouch out of the computer room.
"Great! Then let's head to the library!"Kaguya declared joyfully and thought proudly."Score! I got some study time with Lelouch!"
Rivalz, Shirley and Nina watched Kaguya led Lelouch away from them.
"Kaguya is really something."Rivalz said sheepishly.
"She knows how to get exactly get what she wants without holding back like Lelouch's other admirers."Nina complemented.
"No doubt she will react the same as the other girls when they all learn Lelouch and Rin are dating."Shirley thought with a nervous smile.
In Another Part of Ashford Academy…
Class was still in session, so C.C was alone while walking down to one of the hallways where she found some students talking to each other.
The immortal witch felt being watched by a bunch of boys and even a few girls that she walked past, probably admiring her for her bewitching yet eternal good looks.
It was a weird feeling, but it made her feel...human.
As she glanced into the classroom windows, C.C saw how everybody would laugh and talk to their friends.
It was so much different than her life and childhood.
All she had was a nun that was using her and then the curse of Geass.
Milly went over to C.C.
"Hello, C.C."Milly greeted."How was your first day in class go?"
"It was alright, Madam President."C.C responded and frowned a bit."Though some boys looked at me like I'm an object."
A light laugh escaped from Milly's mouth.
"Got admirers already?"Milly chuckled."You may probably end up getting a boyfriend before me."
"I doubt it."C.C declared bluntly."I don't see a point of being in a relationship if it's only based on lust."
"Did you have any boyfriends in your old school?"Milly asked.
"Only a couple, but none of them were serious."C.C admitted.
Milly smirked."Either of them included experience?"
C.C shook her head.
"Surprisingly, no."C.C complemented."Just got unwanted proposals and gifts beside being stripped naked."
Milly gives C.C an odd look.
"A long story."C.C said simply."But I can give you some advice. Love without limit is love without meaning. Though I actually forgot what love is."
"You must've had a complicated love life."Milly assumed.
"I guess you can say that."C.C responded and handed Milly a sheet."If you see Lelouch, give this to him. It is a petition for the establishment for the Pizza Club. I'm thinking of submitting it."
Milly sweat dropped."You must really like pizza."
"You have no idea."C.C answered.
At the Clubhouse…
In his room, Lelouch discarded his uniform top and his shirt was half-unbuttoned, revealing quite a bit of his well-muscled chest.
Rin was there as well, but she was busy typing on her boyfriend's laptop.
"So you told Shirley, Rivalz and Nina that you and Nunnally were from the royal family?"Rin asked.
"It's fair that they know than tell them in the wrong time, Rin."Lelouch exclaimed."They would otherwise felt betrayed if I never told them."
Rin smiled at Lelouch.
"So my advice on being open with those around you really helped?"Rin suggested.
"It did more than it can imagine."Lelouch complemented.
Lelouch gives Rin a kiss on the forehead.
"And now you're only left with telling Nunnally about being Zero and leading the Black Knights."Rin informed.
Lelouch sat next to Rin.
"That will be hard for Nunnally to accept."Lelouch stated."She despises any form of fighting and would tell us what we're doing is wrong."
"I get it, Lelouch. You need time to think about it."Rin assured."I care about Nunnally too and I know the last thing you ever want to do is make her cry."
Rin then continued typing on Lelouch's laptop to show her boyfriend the information that she found about the Camelot Engineering Corps.
"Here is what I found about Camelot Engineering Corps."Rin complemented."It's a Britannian Special Research Division led by Milly's fiancé Lloyd Asplund and founded by…Prince Schneizel el Britannia."
Lelouch frowned at the mention of one of his dangerous enemies beside Emperor Charles.
"I see."Lelouch said with a frown."So this is an irregular team officially established by Schneizel himself."
"Here is another thing. It had been given an autonomy outside of the jurisdiction of the Britannian Military by Prince Clovis."Rin complemented."In addition, Camelot's Advanced Special Envoy Engineering Corps (A.S.E.E.C) was responsible for developing the world's first ever seventh generation Knightmare Frame which we know as the Lancelot, as well as its variants."
Lelouch thought for a moment before something came into his mind.
"Rin is possible for you to hack in and find out who is piloting the Lancelot?"Lelouch asked.
Rin suddenly felt butterflies in her stomach at her boyfriend's question.
"Are you sure, Lelouch?"Rin asked.
"We have the right to know who is trying to mess with our plans, Rin."Lelouch stated.
Rin nodded and used her hacking skills to go into information about the Lancelot.
Then the very name of the person that piloted the white Knightmare.
Suzaku Kururugi.
There was deathly silent in the room the moment that Lelouch and Rin saw that name.
But the more they thought about it, the more things made sense and the pieces fir together.
"So Suzaku was the one piloting the Lancelot since the Shinjuku massacre."Lelouch retorted."Now it is all clear."
Lelouch went to sit on his bed while Rin quietly placed the laptop on the desk, not knowing what to say.
She didn't want to believe it.
Sadly, this was the truth.
Suzaku worked for the Camelot Engineering Corps and had been piloting the Lancelot to aid Princess Cornelia in the battles to stop Zero and the Black Knights.
Overall, this meant Suzaku was their enemy as well.
"It does make sense to me as well."Rin spoke up and scoffed."And Suzaku did say that he would change Britannia from within. No matter how stupid that sounds."
"I'm going to tell Kallen, Rai and the Black Knights about this."Lelouch suggested with a hint of disappointment."They have the right to know as well."
Rin nodded in agreement.
"Say, Lelouch. Tell me."Rin insisted."Why did you want Suzaku to join us so badly after we rescued him from being executed by the Pure Bloods?"
"With the way Britannia typically operated especially when it occurred to 'numbers', my intentions were to recruit Suzaku to join me to fight against Britannia."Lelouch exclaimed."Also, I wanted him to be the one to look after Nunnally in case something ever happened to me."
A light laugh escaped from Rin's mouth.
"You wanted Suzaku to look after Nunnally?"Rin questioned with a smirk."Since when do you play matchmaker?"
Lelouch frowned as a small blush crept up on his face.
"I hate to admit it, but I want someone special to make Nunnally happy."Lelouch declared."Like you do to me."
"Suzaku maybe our best friend and it's nice that you want him to be at Nunnally's side."Rin complemented."But I'm pretty sure his heart is already taken by someone else."
This caused Lelouch to become surprised at what he just heard.
"Really?"Lelouch asked in confusion."Who?"
"Come on, Lelouch. Isn't it obvious?"Rin chuckled."It's Euphie."
"Euphie?"Lelouch responded.
"She is the one that selected him to attend Ashford Academy."Rin exclaimed."Besides, they would make a nice couple."
Lelouch looked down as a slight smile appeared on his face.
"I guess they would."Lelouch replied.
"Lelouch, don't worry about Nunnally."Rin assured kindly."There may be a greater love for her in the future. That is once she's grown interest in romance and going on dates. It may take time, but she'll eventually find him. Whoever he may be."
A smile appeared on Lelouch's face at his girlfriend's respond.
"Rin, you are wise...and definitely loyal."Lelouch admitted."I don't know what I'll do without you."
A pink blush appeared on Rin's face.
"Come on, Lelouch."Rin remarked in embarrassment."I'm not wise."
"Yes, you are."Lelouch responded."Even if I revealed myself to be Zero and told you of my Geass power, you never left my side and kept being with me. That's why you'll always be the only woman I will ever love in my life. No one can ever replace you."
Lelouch and Rin share a small yet passionate kiss with each other causing both of them to end up laying on the bed.
Though this time, Rin was the one on top of Lelouch.
"We have a bad habit of getting carried away."Rin complemented with a shy smile.
"Yes, we do."Lelouch said smugly."Do you intend to go further?"
Rin looked away as her cheeks turned pink.
"Not really."Rin mumbled slightly.
Lelouch smirked. "Are you sure?"
The brunette became quiet, not knowing what to say.
This was Lelouch Lamperouge, formerly known as Lelouch vi Britannia, the former 11th Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire.
Her lover and the only one that she wants to spend the rest of her life with.
But she wasn't the type of girl that jumped into bed with people.
And yet, Rin still struggled to keep her hormonal urges under control.
Obviously, no girl would if any of them were dating someone as devilishly handsome as Lelouch.
Rin then planted her lips on Lelouch causing him to kiss her back as his hands wrapped around her waist, bringing her close to him.
"Well, you two are having fun."
Both Lelouch and Rin immediately broke away from their kiss and sat on the bed when they saw C.C standing in the entrance in the room.
"Just how long were you standing there?!"Lelouch snapped.
"Far long enough to see everything."C.C answered smugly."You guys can continue if you want."
Rin's face flushed in anger and pointed an accused finger at C.C.
"Shut up, you dirty witch!"Rin snapped angrily."We've had enough of your chaos for today!"
Lelouch stood up from his bed to button up his shirt.
"I hope you came here because you decided to reveal something, C.C."Lelouch commented.
C.C closed her eyes for a moment before opening them.
"Alright, Lelouch. I'll tell you."C.C replied."The first thing is that I'm not the only one with the power of immortality formed through a Geass contract and grant Geass contracts to people."
This caused Lelouch and Rin to become surprised.
"You're not the only code bearer?"Rin asked.
"So who is this other code bearer called?"Lelouch questioned.
"His name is V.V."C.C answered."But his real name is Vernon zi Britannia. He is Charles' older twin brother and your uncle."
Stunned looks appeared on Lelouch and Rin's faces.
"An uncle who is a code bearer?"Lelouch said.
"I thought the Emperor had only half-siblings."Rin stated.
"I thought so too, Rin. There was never mention or report of him having a full-blooded sibling. Especially, a twin."Lelouch responded and glanced at C.C."If this code bearer known as V.V is a brother to the Emperor, does that mean he granted him a Geass?"
"Mostly likely, yes."C.C answered."Though I don't actually know what type of Geass that V.V gave him."
Lelouch frowned."Are you telling the truth?"
"Yes."C.C answered slightly.
Rin gives C.C a suspicious look, but didn't say anything.
"If what you say is true, C.C, then answer some questions."Lelouch insisted.
"What kind of questions?"C.C questioned.
"Let's just say we wanna know more about you."Rin admitted."Where you came from, your relatives. Mostly, how you ended up becoming a code bearer."
C.C turned her head to the left side with an unsure look on her face.
"C.C, you promised to be no longer secretive if you decided to cooperate with us."Lelouch declared."Me and Rin don't need to know much. Just the things that will help us understand you more better."
C.C glanced at Lelouch and Rin.
"Very well."C.C replied."First of all, I had this curse of immortality forced on me over 500 years ago, during what you call the medieval times. I was a little girl born from a peasant family that was sold into slavery. But by mere dumb luck, I escaped my captors and came across a nun that was a code bearer and granted me the power 'to be loved' which allowed me to make anyone around me love me."
Lelouch and Rin shared a surprised expression with each other.
"You were given the power to make people love you?"Rin asked.
C.C nodded in respond as she continued her story.
"I've wanted to be loved by everyone and it happened with the aid of my Geass. It was grand and everything seems perfect. But having everyone to love and like you made my world boring. I got tired of it."C.C exclaimed."I originally started with a Geass symbol in my left eye, but as I matured, I eventually developed another in my right, implying that I became unable to control it, causing everyone to love me. Whether I wanted them to or not."
"Your Geass power went haywire just like what happened to Mao."Lelouch murmured.
"Afterwards, I had become bored by the tranced society around me, the nun who had bound the Geass contract to me revealed that she had tricked me."C.C exclaimed with a haunted look as she gripped her covered chest which was where she had the indescribable scar that she received from the nun."The nun began severely injuring me. My only option to survive was to accept the nun's Code and its immortality. Losing the Code, the nun became mortal again, allowing her to commit suicide, and, as part of the exchange, I became immune to the effects of Geass while losing my own Geass."
Tears started to appear in C.C's eyes as her voice to began to break a bit.
"She had just pretended to be friends with me right from the start."C.C explained."I was a tool. A way for her to end her life. That's all. Every day I have been forced to live has been full of little but miserable days where I had go on, just trying to find a way to rid myself of my Code. Eventually getting killed in numerous ways from being burned to beheading. I was barely seen as a human to people over the ages. I was mostly seen as a witch or as a devil."
Rin stared at C.C with a hurtful look.
The brunette at first found C.C just an annoying girl that didn't care about anything, but just be lazy and eat pizza.
But in reality, she didn't knowing anything about her.
"C.C…"Rin said quietly.
C.C became surprised when she felt Rin hugging her.
"What are you doing, Rossellini?"C.C questioned.
"I was thinking that you needed a hug."Rin responded kindly."They say, 'Sometimes the right hug from the right person at the right time makes everything bad in the world go away."
"Is this because you pity me?"C.C asked.
"Not really."Rin answered."This is actually a way to express love to someone that you care about."
C.C attempted to move Rin away from her, but instead of the immortal witch hugged the brunette back.
It felt weird having to do something that she hadn't done for decades.
Though for some reason, it felt right.
Lelouch didn't say anything as he looked at the scene and then the floor, thinking about the past of C.C.
Being a code bearer sounded horrible beside painful.
Especially, having to get revived by possible yet awful ways to be killed and being treated as an outcast by those around you.
It was now clear to the former prince why C.C wanted him to grant her wish.
"She has gone through a lot of pain and sorrow."Lelouch thought with a sad frown."No wonder she wants to die."
Lelouch then brought his attention to C.C as Rin stopped hugging the immortal witch.
"C.C, I'm sorry for the hardships that you've faced."Lelouch apologised."But just because you lived so long and endured so much pain, this doesn't mean that wishing to die is the only option to end it. You should go on living and receive more happiness than you can think of."
"That's right."Rin remarked, agreeing with her boyfriend."Living well is the best revenge because your making the best of whatever life throws at you and making it count."
"I never actually thought of that."C.C responded.
"Then think and try to do it now."Rin insisted kindly."It's never too late to start over fresh."
Somewhere…
Underground in a desert-like area there was actually a fairly modern medium-sized city, complete with streetlights, roadways, ornate buildings, and even an underground train system.
However, the people that actually lived there were dangerous since they were people that were actually test subjects, who were given the power of Geass.
A figure stood outside what appeared to be an elevator that was shrouded in purple light.
The figure was a young boy with a very short stature and an eternally youthful appearance. He had light blonde hair that cascaded to the ground at his feet and dark pink eyes. He wore a black, high-collared cloak with a purple underside, a white tunic with gold and blue cuffs (decorated with the Geass symbol), a black belt on his waist, a black cravat; white pants with gold and blue bottoms and black shoes. He had black and gold clips on his hair to keep it away from his face.
He looked like a child, but in reality he was a man around his 60s and leader of the Geass Directorate, the secret organisation that researches and creates Geass users.
The 'young boy' was V.V; the older twin brother of Emperor Charles zi Britannia, but looked much younger as a result of the power of immortality formed through a Geass contract.
V.V frowned as he waited outside the Thought Elevator.
"You sure are taking your time being in there, Charles."V.V thought with a stern look."Perhaps because you are thinking about her again."
The 'her' he was referring to was Marianne vi Britannia that vile yet only wife out of the many that Charles actually truly loved and…the mother of Lelouch and Nunnally.
He was also the very person that killed the 5th Imperial Consort out of jealousy and lied about this to Charles, who had actually known the truth from the beginning, breaking his promise of mutual honesty between him and Charles.
"Our plan would've succeeded by now if C.C came back to us."V.V thought with a hint of annoyance and smirked sadistically."But now Marianne's son had decided to start a rebellion against his own family for the illusional love for his mother and you decided to sent two more Knights of the Round to help Cornelia. I kind of actually like Lelouch because in a way he reminds me of you, little brother."
Mmm, not so canon especially since Gino and Anya are appearing earlier than in the anime series. The next part we will see Lelouch, Rin and the Black Knights help the Four Holy Swords rescue Tohdoh. See you all in the next chapter:)
