-Chapter One Hundred and Forty-One-

"Aw man! These ruins, or whatever they are, all got blasted to dust!" Usopp gaped the minute he peered down at the layer below us. "And if we don't get out of here right now, we're going to be next!" he stressed as if really wanting to make it clear to us that we needed to leave.

"In the ruins, I discovered a map that revealed the location of the Grand Belfry that holds the golden bell" Robin explained. "It indicated that it could be found in the heart of the ancient city."

"Hey, why are you ignoring me?!" Usopp cried.

"Because she can" I said, giggling as the sharpshooter only seemed to whine.

"To put it simply, the force of the impact from the vine must have sent the bell hurtling skyward to its present location" Robin continued as everyone looked upward and nodded as if to let her know that we understood what she was telling us.

"Um...Wyper? What are you planning to do?" Aisa nervously asked, carefully watching the warrior as he continued to kneel and think. "Don't tell me you're going to the beanstalk!" she shouted in realization the minute she saw the determined glint in his eyes.

"Everyone, get away from the beanstalk! Something's falling!" Usopp suddenly screamed the minute he saw something falling toward us.

"The top of the stalk!" Robin gasped as the top of the stalk came crashing down and embedded itself into the cloudy ground not that far away from us. "What's happening up there?" she quietly pondered with a frown.

"An all-out fight I suppose" I assumed, slowly looking from the broken piece of vine to the sky.

"Oh no! Don't tell me that Luffy and Nami fell with it—I just don't think I can take it!" Usopp cried at the horrible thought that our friends could possibly be falling to their deaths right this instant.

"No, I doubt Luffy would let that happen" I shook my head, gaze flickering upward once more in search of any falling bodies yet finding none the longer I stared.

"Wyper!" Aisa cried in panic the minute she noticed that the man was attempting to stand up only to quickly fall back down with a groan. "No, you can't go—not in this condition! Look at yourself, you're a wreck! You'll never make it!" she sobbed as he only continued in his attempts to stand. "And even if you did, there's no way to reach Eneru when he's flying on that ship!" she tried to reason with him.

"The bell...it's directly above us..." Wyper grounded out, sucking in sharp breaths of air as he continued to shakily push himself to stand. "Great Warrior Calgara longed to hear its sound..." he panted.

"Great Warrior Calgara?" Aisa quietly questioned.

"Yes, that is our true goal" Wyper nodded. "Eneru, I swear you'll never take that bell!" he sneered as he glared up at the ship in the sky.

"It's right above Angel Island!" Aisa suddenly cried out the minute she spotted a rather large, black ball filled to the brim with thunderclouds hovering right over Angel Island.

"A thundercloud shaped like a sphere?" Robin questioned.

"They'll all be killed if that thing touches the ground!" I gasped, eyes wide with horror at the realization that the man really was going to go through with killing everyone in this land.

"I'm real! This has got to be a nightmare!" Usopp fearfully screamed.

"What is this? What new horrors could he unleash next?!" Gan Fall growled just as the sphere finally landed, bursting out in a huge explosion that shook the entire ground—the shockwave from the impact reaching all the way toward us and sending our hair whipping back as our clothes violently flapped around.

"W-what kind of explosion was that?!" Usopp whimpered once it was over. "Not to mention that terrible lightning is still falling down like rain! I don't think any of us can stand a chance of getting out of here alive!" he cried.

"Angel Island's gone! How could you Eneru?!" Gan Fall mournfully wept as he dropped to his hands and knees. "What cruelty! What monstrous cruelty!" he practically sobbed.

"Those poor people..." I sadly muttered, covering my mouth as my eyes started to sting with unshed tears the longer I looked at the crater that used to be Angel Island. I could only hope that their deaths had been quick and that they hadn't suffered long...yet such a thought brought little comfort knowing that their lives were snuffed out far too soon and by someone who was supposed to protect them. Sinking to the ground, we all silently mourned the lives that were lost—our energy gone as we held our heads in despair from the horrific sight we had seen. I don't know how much time passed after that until Zoro cleared his throat and expressed a desire to tell us something he thought we needed to hear.

"When he says he's going to do something, he does it" Zoro assured us once he finished sharing with us Luffy's grand plan involving that golden bell Eneru so desperately craved.

"Wait, he's going to…" Usopp muttered as realization hit him.

"Yes, he did say that—but given the situation..." Robin nodded, trailing off as thunder continued to rumble above while lightning rained all around us, not showing any signs of stopping anytime soon.

"I doubt that'd be enough to stop him" I sighed as the corner of my lips twitched upwards.

"Ring? He's going to ring the bell?" Wyper frowned.

"That's right—no matter how hard Nami tries, Luffy won't leave until he rings that bell" Zoro nodded, making it clear to us why Nami's original plan of setting off to get Luffy and us heading straight to the ship wasn't really going to play out how she wanted it to. "You see, Luffy is after the same thing as Eneru" he said.

"He's a stubborn one" I softly chuckled. "Once he sets his mind to it, there's no stopping him no matter how much you want to."

"Watch out! There's something falling towards us again—take cover!" Usopp frantically screamed as he quickly dropped to the ground and covered his head the minute he saw something falling our way once more.

"Wait, it's a…" Zoro muttered.

"A leaf" Aisa finished for him when we realized that the thing falling toward us was nothing more than a harmless leaf.

"There's something written on it" I pointed out as I watched how the leaf fluttered right down into the young girl's hands.

"Hey, you're right! It's a message from Nami and Luffy!" Aisa brightened after taking just one glance down at the leaf in her hands.

"What does it say?" Usopp curiously asked as Robin peered down at the leaf just to see what was written on it.

"Cut down the beanstalk and make sure that it falls towards the west" she read aloud.

"What?!" Usopp shouted. "But what will happen if we do?" he worriedly asked, not quite understanding the navigator's logic in asking for us to cut down the beanstalk.

"Hey, knight—which way is west?" Zoro suddenly asked.

"Oh, thank goodness you asked first before cutting" I sighed in relief, causing the swordsman to become irritated.

"Well—"

"You mean we're really going to do it?" Usopp asked, cutting Gan Fall off as he looked down, surprised that we were actually going to go through with this sudden plan of Nami's. "I mean, which way's west?" he nervously laughed when he noticed the way we blankly stared back at him.

"There, in the direction of the cloud where Eneru's ark is currently parked" Gan Fall answered as we soon watched as another sphere of thunder poked through the clouds.

"Eneru!" Wyper growled.

"Damn him!" Gan Fall sneered.

"Do you see that?! That one's even bigger—maybe we should get out of here!" Usopp cried out upon seeing the ball of thunder that was now aimed directly above the Upper Yard. "While there's still someplace to get!" he whimpered as he realized that there really wasn't anywhere else to go now that Angel Island was gone.

"What about Nami's plan?" I asked.

"What about it? Shouldn't our survival come first?!" Usopp cried before blinking when Robin suddenly rested a hand on his shoulder. "Let me get this straight, they're going to jump to the ark from the falling beanstalk?" he frowned once he had calmed down enough to let the archeologist explain to him and the rest of us what she believed Nami was planning on doing by having us cut down the beanstalk.

"You got any better ideas?" Zoro asked.

"Well, that's crazy—they can't be serious!" Usopp huffed, not wanting to believe that such a bizarre plan would actually work

"Fine, then I'll leave it up to you to climb up there and stop Luffy" Zoro irritably said, motioning for the sharpshooter to go ahead and try to stop our captain.

"He won't listen!" Usopp argued.

"Do we really have to do this right now?" I sighed, not really in the mood for an argument to break out right now at this exact moment—especially now when we're clearly running on limited time.

"I'm not doing anything! I'm just pointing out how crazy all of this is!" Usopp defended.

"Look, I don't care how crazy it sounds, we have no choice—we got to let him do this" Zoro frowned just as another lightning bolt struck nearby, almost hitting Aisa if Wyper hadn't reacted quick enough and pushed her out of the way.

"W-what?" Usopp sputtered as Zoro quickly scooped Chopper up.

"Long-Nose!" Robin called out just as she tossed Sanji toward the sharpshooter with her Devil Fruit powers.

"I got him" Usopp assured her the minute he caught the blond before screaming in fear as he jumped out of the way when another lightning bolt suddenly struck the spot he had just been standing in.

"If we stay here, we're just going to get pushed down into the ruins below!" Zoro shouted. "Run! Get away from the beanstalk!" he ordered as he tossed Chopper over to Robin before suddenly picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder, not really giving me a chance to react.

"I can run on my own!" I snapped, embarrassingly hitting his back as my face grew warm.

"I'll take care of it! All I have to do is cut down the vine toward that ship, right?" he asked, carefully setting me back down once we were far enough and he finally came to the conclusion that he was going to be the one to cut the vine down.

"Yeah...that's what they said..." I hesitantly nodded, now wary of this plan despite knowing it needed to be done.

"But..." Usopp whimpered.

"That maniac is about to wipe this land away and there are only two people who can reach him before he sets that thing off" Zoro said, stopping for just a second before he took off as he gently grabbed the back of my head and pressed our forehead together. "I'll be fine, just promise me you'll keep safe until I come back..." he murmured, causing my blush that had yet to fade to darken as I slowly nodded. With a firm nod of his own, he ruffled my hair and pressed a fleeting kiss to my forehead before finally turning and taking off.

"Zoro, wait!" Usopp shouted as I bit my tongue and turned away.

"Come on, we have to go!" I called back to the sharpshooter, motioning for him to follow before he could fall too far behind the rest of us.

"I know, but…okay, he's going to be just fine" Usopp firmly nodded as he now followed. We didn't stop until we felt we had gotten a safe enough distance away from the danger.

"Careful!" I worriedly shouted, twiddling my fingers as I watched Zoro dodge the bolts of lightning that struck too close for comfort—each one getting dangerously closer to hitting him than the last. Though I quietly told myself that he would be fine...I could still feel my stomach churn the longer I watched him weave his way through that minefield of lightning.

"Zoro, buddy—you're the only one who can do this! It's up to you!" Usopp cheered as if trying to hide his own feelings of anxiety and fear. "Alright, he did it!" he grinned as Zoro finally got close enough to finally cut the beanstalk.

"Zoro!" I cried out in horror, heart clenching the second I witnessed him be struck by lightning after completing his task.
