Zero's Lady
Chapter 22: A Mysterious Island
The sound of seagulls squawking and the sun's heat hitting Shade's face as she gained consciousness.
"What happened?"Shade murmured."Where am I?"
Shade's eyes widen when she remembered the Avalon firing its missiles and immediately stood up from where she laid down.
"Lelouch!"Shade gasped in fear."Suzaku!"
Shade looked around and saw she was in an island, but something was telling her this was not Shikine Island though.
"This must be another island."Shade assumed."But how did I get here?"
Shade then sniffed her clothes causing her to gag a bit.
"I seriously need to shower."Shade retorted in disgust."I can't be rescued smelling like seaweed."
From behind his mask, Lelouch furrowed his brow in thought as he glanced along the beach thoughtfully.
"Just as I thought. This is not Shikine Island."Zero thought."The vegetation and climate are the same as Shikine Island. We can't be that far from it."
Lelouch froze as he suddenly felt the presence of someone else and looked downwards to his left.
His eyes widened and mouth opened slightly at the sight of his younger sister, Princess Euphemia li Britannia.
Euphemia stared up at Zero silently, utterly stunned that the masked leader of the Black Knights was standing not far from where she stood.
Suzaku was walking within the island, noticing its rainforest was more green and had more trees.
"There's no way to contact anyone without an in-com."Suzaku thought."But what's more important right now is to find a source of drinkable water and shelter."
Then a sound of a small branch snapping caused Suzaku to snap out of his thoughts and become alarmed.
He wasn't alone in the rainforest.
Suzaku slowly made his way to the part where he heard the branch snap as he carefully took out his gun.
The Honorary Britannian held his breath and quickly ran to the side and aimed his gun at who or whatever was close by.
Only to come face to face with Rai, who aimed his own gun at him to defend himself.
"Rai?!"Suzaku said in surprise.
"Suzaku?!"Rai responded in disbelief.
Just before Suzaku could ask his school friend why he was in the same island, he notice the silver haired boy's piloting uniform had the symbols of the Black Knights.
"That is the mark of the Black Knights!"Suzaku responded."That means you're a-"
"That's right, Suzaku."Rai responded with a frown."I'm a member of the Black Knight. I'm not going to hide it anymore."
"Rai Elrod!"Suzaku scowled."I can't believe it!"
"I'm actually half-Britannin and half-Japanese, Suzaku."Rai corrected sharply."My father's surname was Hodges and my mother's maiden name was Sumeragi."
"Sumeragi?"Suzaku said in awe."So you're-"
"Yes. I'm a member of the Sumeragi Clan. Rai Sumeragi."Rai declared."That is who I am."
Suzaku glared at his friend.
"In that case, Rai Sumeragi, I'm placing you under arrest for conspiracy and rebellion against Britannia."Suzaku stated.
"Don't even think about it."
Suzaku looked up and saw above the tree that Rai stood close to was Kallen glaring down at him while holding her pouch that revealed her knife inside it.
"Kallen."Suzaku retorted."You as well."
Nonette cursed underneath her breath as she walked by herself in the mysterious island.
The Knight of Nine wasn't happy upon what occurred today.
First she fell into a trap of the Black Knights like her fellow Knights of the Round did and now she found herself in an island that she didn't recognise.
"There were reports of another island near the one of Shikine."Nonette commented sourly."This must be the one called 'Kamine Island'. The one that Bismarck once told me about."
Nonette pushed a branch aside in annoyance, seeing the peak of a waterfall.
However, she came out of her train of thought when she caught sight of a female figure appearing to be washing herself in the waterfall.
Her silky dark chocolate brown hair was long and went down her back due to being wet.
Nonette's eyes widen in utter disbelief upon recognising who the girl was.
"Lynn?"Nonette murmured in disbelief."It can't be."
The Knight of Nine decided to get the girl's attention.
"Excuse me!"Nonette called out.
The brunette tensed up as she slowly turned around, her arms covering her chest as their eyes met.
A wave of shock washed over Nonette's body.
It was her.
Viscount Istvan's second daughter and Adeline's younger half-sister.
Lynn Rossellini.
"Nonette?"Rin murmured.
Rin's eyes suddenly narrowed before she sprinted to the side of the waterfall, grabbing a purple dress and holding it around herself.
Nonette became more shocked upon seeing the outfit of Shade.
"Shade's uniform."Nonette commented."You're her?"
Instead of responding, Rin simply rushed off from the waterfall as Nonette watched in shock.
"I don't believe it!"Nonette replied, not taking her eyes off the brunette."It's really you?!"
Rin attempted to run away from the Knight of Nine.
However, Nonette eventually caught up with Rin and snatched her left wrist, forcing the brunette forward, placing her foot perfectly so she tripped over it.
As Rin fell, Nonette wrapped her ankle around hers, spinning her up into the air momentarily before tugging on her wrist, flipping her over her shoulder with a yell.
When the brunette fell onto the hard ground back and attempted to stand up, Nonette whipped around, catching her shoulders and pushed her back onto the ground.
Rin and Nonette glared at each other.
"Lynn! Lynn Rossellini!"Nonette snapped."Your Zero's right hand and a member of the Black Knights!"
"Don't speak like you now anything, Nonette!"Rin growled."First of all, call me 'Rin'! I go by Japanese heritage now! But, I'm not going to say anything else!"
"Well, since no one had found us yet, you and I might as well catch up."Nonette insisted."That is all I can offer you."
Kallen and Rai sat in the opposite side of Suzaku, speaking to him upon being in the unknown island as well.
"I see."Suzaku replied."When you two came to, you both found each other and found yourselves here."
"That's right."Kallen answered and scoffed."Humph. So then you're stranded here too, huh? Serves you right. When our people get here, you're the one who'll be a prisoner."
"You mean Zero and Shade will come to save you both?"Suzaku assumed.
"Of course they will."Rai replied with a smug look."They're our leaders."
"Okay, before they do, tell me one thing."Suzaku insisted."Tell me who they really are? Who are they behind the masks?"
Both Kallen and Rai frowned at Suzaku's question.
"Like hell, we'll tell you."Kallen retorted.
"We'll never sell out our leaders."Rai declared sternly."You're utterly foolish to believe that we will."
"Isn't masking one's identity a huge fraud?"Suzaku asked."I'm curious. Why do you two follow Zero and Shade?"
"Must you ask?"Kallen sneered.
"Since you've been busy being a Honorary Britannian, you don't have the slightest clue."Rai commented."It is expected to someone who is naive and believes his always doing the right thing while being treated like dirt."
Suzaku glared at Rai at his respond.
Rin scowled bitterly as Nonette, having allowed her to at least change back into her clothes and having tied her hands behind her back with her sash, draped her Knights of the Round cape over her shoulders to keep her warm.
"You know when I heard Japan was at war with Britannia and the place where you and your relatives lived was bombed, I was devastated."Nonette complemented."Who would've guessed you would join a rebellion that opposed Britannia?"
"People change as things around us change, Nonette."Rin retorted."I don't see the point at looking back at the past."
"Since you're alive, it is obvious that Lelouch and Nunnally are alive too, right?"Nonette assumed.
Rin felt butterflies in her stomach at Nonette's respond.
"Quit asking me questions."Rin scoffed."I won't answer any of them."
Nonette shook her head.
"You've changed so much since I last saw you."Nonette said."I don't blame you being angry since what happened your mother and the rest of her relatives."
Rin flinched a bit and simply glared at Nonette before she returned her gaze to the rocky ground by the waterfall.
Zero and Euphemia kept staring at each other in silence.
"Lelouch."Euphemia spoke up.
From behind his mask, Lelouch became stunned at his other favourite sister's respond.
Did the 3rd Princess of Britannia knew he was Zero?
"Lelouch, it's you, isn't it?"Euphemia assumed."I haven't told Cornelia anything about you and Nunnally! But please, let me see your face!"
Lelouch remained stood frozen in silence before moving his hand to remove his mask causing a little hiss to be heard before he pulled down the black cloth covering the lower half of his mask.
Euphemia simply smiled in joy at seeing the brother she cared so much face to face again since the events at the Clovisland Pool Resort.
Back in Shikine Island…
The Britannians using metal detectors to try and find Euphemia and Nonette.
"Find them!"Colonel Fayer ordered."Find Princess Euphemia and Lady Enneagram!"
An annoyed scowl escaped from Colonel Fayer's mouth.
"Why couldn't she behave the way a sub-viceroy figurehead is expected to?!"Colonel Fayer retorted."What a situation. If Princess Cornelia hears about this-"
In the Avalon, Lloyd and Cécile recovered the Lancelot, the Osenain, the Mordred and the Tristian with the Gefjun Switch having been disabled with the Black Knights' departure.
Cécile did her calculations on top of the Lancelot as Gino spoke with Anya.
"Seriously?"Gino asked in disbelief."Suzaku and Nonette disappeared alongside Princess Euphemia?"
"Yep."Anya said bluntly and looked at Cécile."You've checked the Lancelot's data and security footage?"
"That's right, Lady Alstreim."Cécile answered while holding her laptop."There isn't any trace of anyone."
Lloyd walked up to Cécile, Gino and Anya.
"Oh, my! Who would have imagined a floating aircraft carrier!"Lloyd remarked excitedly."You told me to gather data before practical application, correct?"
Lloyd turned around to see Prince Schneizel walk up to him.
Schneizel el Britannia was a very handsome man with fair skin, corn-silk blonde hair that falls across the back of his neck and cold violet eyes. He was extremely tall and was slightly taller than even his father, Emperor Charles. He wore a long, royal purple tunic that was bordered with black and gold accents, and across his mid-section was a loosely fitting white belt, ending right at his kneecaps, that covered a portion of white slacks. Over top of this was a white over-coat that possess a stiff, black high-backed collar that showed a crimson silk inside, with golden epaulettes at the shoulders.
Anya, and Gino both bowed at Prince Schneizel.
"Because I'm extremely interested in whatever you create."Schneizel replied."I needed to see if this could be made real."
"And the Hadron Cannon?"Lloyd asked.
"We wanted to know if the thing worked."Schneizel declared simply and looked at Cécile."I've been looking forward to meeting you, Ms. Cécile Croomy. I am…"
"Prince Schneizel?"Cécile said in awe."Right here?"
Bartley glared at Cécile as he rushed next to Schneizel.
"You impudent little!"Bartley growled."How dare you look down upon the 2nd Prince of the Empire!"
"G–General Bartley!"Cécile gasped.
Cécile attempted to stand up, only to trip and fell on the floor.
"Nice one."Lloyd commented.
Cécile rubbed her back as Schneizel walked forward and offered her his hand.
"You're not injured, I hope."Schneizel replied."Yes, I am Prince Schneizel el Britannia. Please, give me your hand."
"Yes…"Cécile whispered in glee.
Cécile shyly took the handsome prince's hand much to General Bartley's dismay.
"Gah…she's unworthy!"General Bartley retorted.
Lloyd smiled at General Bartley.
"General, you're quite the devoted subject, aren't you?"Lloyd chuckled.
"Primarily because the prince is the one who commuted my sentence and saved me from being chained up deep beneath Temple Tower!"General Bartley admitted.
Schneizel looked at General Bartley while holding Cécile's hand.
"I wish you'd stop thinking of me so formally."Schneizel declared."You've been a great help to me in this current matter, as you were to my brother Clovis. It is I who am grateful to you."
"M–My Lord!"General Bartley said in shock.
Schneizel then looked at Gino and Anya.
"Please, Bartley…"Schneizel answered and looked at Cécile."Now, my Lady Cécile, if you'll excuse me."
Schneizel kissed Cécile's hand, making her blush.
"Y–Your Highness!"Cécile stuttered.
Schneizel then looked at Gino and Anya.
"Sir Weinberg, Lady Alstreim, I would ask that you both please continue your search for my sister as well as Sir Kururugi and Lady Enneagram."Schneizel instructed.
"As you wish, Your Majesty."Anya answered.
"Won't be a problem for us."Gino sneered.
Schneizel then walked away from Cécile to leave with General Bartley as Lloyd glanced at her.
"You can wait for me at the base, Cécile."Lloyd declared.
"Huh?"Cécile said in confusion."Where are you going?"
"Just a little errand."Lloyd explained."While I'm doing that, I'll use the Avalon to look for Suzaku. It's hard to find devicers like that young man, especially after yesterday's exploits."
"Please wait!"Cécile protested."Were those orders yesterday issued by the prince?!"
"Silence!"General Bartley snapped."You don't want to be in contempt of royalty, do you?!"
"Those orders were mine, Ms. Cécile. I also fired the Hadron. Even in a situation like that, priorities mustn't be forgotten."Schneizel admitted."Besides, if something anomalous happened, we would have still been able to rescue him. That's what I gambled on. He is after all Suzaku Kururugi, ace pilot of the Special Corps and Euphie's knight."
"Yes, My Lord. I understand now, and I sorely regret my rudeness."Cécile apologised firmly."I accept any punishment you decree."
"Nonsense. It's my fault for not protecting my subordinates."Schneizel admitted with a fake sad smile."Can you ever forgive me?"
Schneizel then walked away with General Bartley and Lloyd, leaving Cécile, Gino and Anya by themselves.
Back in Kamine Island…
Euphemia had changed out of her wet dress and sat against a large boulder with Leouch's cloak wrapped tightly around her to keep her warm.
Lelouch stood behind the other side of the large boulder.
"When did you figure it out?"Lelouch asked.
"Back at the hotel jacking."Euphemia answered.
"It seems I said too much."Lelouch complemented.
"So does this mean Lynn is Shade, your handpicked right hand?"Euphemia assumed.
A slight chuckle escaped from Lelouch's mouth.
"You've guessed it."Lelouch replied."So you haven't told Cornelia or Nonette about me and Nunnally being alive?"
"No. I did promise you and Lynn that I wouldn't tell anyone."Euphemia exclaimed with a hint of sadness."Even if I did tell my sister and Nonette, neither of them would believe it. Especially, you and Lynn being the ones leading the Black Knights. The hatred that you two must feel for us."
Lelouch was silent at Euphemia's words.
He did have hatred for the Emperor and the rest of the Britannian Imperial Family since neither of them offered him and his younger sister support when their mother was 'killed' and allowed them to be exiled to former Japan.
However, thanks to Rin, things were now more clearer to him and now his rebellion was no longer built for the sake of revenge, but officially oppose everything that Britannia stands for and built a better world for everyone they care about.
The former Prince of Britannia brought his attention on his half-sister.
"Euphie, I have hatred only for our father and most members of our family."Lelouch declared."But I would never hate you because you're not like them."
"I see."Euphemia answered.
Lelouch glanced up at the sky, remembering the good times in Aries Villa before they sadly ended.
"Thanks to Rin, I now know who killed my mother and why."Lelouch thought with a glare."But also, the Emperor is covering for V.V and knows who's the person that my mother's spirit hosted in. And to think, he would encourage people to follow an ideology that he didn't actually believe himself."
"Lelouch?"Euphemia spoke up, earning back Lelouch's attention."May I ask you something? Are you...Zero...or...or are you..."
"I'm Lelouch."Lelouch answered honestly."Right here and now, I'm Lelouch. The brother that you know, Euphie."
A relieved smile appeared on Euphemia's face before she wiped away her tears.
"Thank goodness."Euphemia remarked.
A little blush appeared on Euphemia's face when she felt her stomach grumble.
"I believe feeling relieved has made me hungry."Euphemia giggled.
Soon after, Euphemia placed her dress back on before she and Lelouch headed to the rainforest to look for food.
Lelouch took another few deep breaths before starting to dig again while Euphemia was behind him and holding his cloak.
"Are you sure that this will work?"Euphemia asked.
"From the paw prints and droppings, I can tell that wild animals use this path."Lelouch patted tiredly."I plan to set up a trap that dates back to medieval times."
Rin used the little pocket knife that Nonette handed her to create a spear.
The brunette and the Knight of Nine were then at the beach side of the island.
Nonette stood watching Rin as she held the spear to the water while standing near a couple of rocks.
Rin then stabbed her spear into the water and chuckled triumphantly as she caught another fish with her handmade weapon.
"Yes!"Rin remarked in delight."Another one caught!"
Rin placed the caught fish next to the other ones she caught.
"We seem to have enough fish that would last us for the day, Lynn."Nonette declared.
"Don't say that, Nonette."Rin retorted as she eyed the water."You are a Knight of the Round, so of course you have a big appetite."
Nonette sweat dropped at Rin's respond.
"Or you mean yourself."Nonette thought with an amused look."Nice to see your appetite hasn't changed at least."
Rai and Suzaku were in the water, helping each other catch fish.
Kallen, on the other hand, was in the rainforest and picking up some mangos she found in its trees.
The red haired girl then saw a picuro nearby which made her smirk.
"It won't be steak, but it will do."Kallen sneered.
Lelouch patted as he fell on his knees, leaning on the log he was using, sweat dripping down his face while Euphemia held in her laughter at her half-brother's state.
"Even...using...a level..."Lelouch murmured.
Euphemia took another step forward.
"Why don't you let me help you with that?"Euphemia suggested with a hint of concern.
Lelouch only chuckled slightly to himself between breaths.
"Manual...Labors...for a...Royal Princess..."Lelouch patted as he shook his head."Don't worry...my methods...perfect..."
"Well, I guess I could go and search for something like fruit, okay?"Euphemia suggested.
Lelouch glanced at Euphemia with a hint of worry.
"Be careful, Euphie."Lelouch warned firmly.
"I will."Euphemia assured.
The pink haired girl lightly giggled before she walked off to find fruit.
Meanwhile…
There was complete silence upon the Black Knight's submarine as the Avalon was passing over them.
After a couple of minutes passed, Miaka gave an announcement.
"Enemy battleship has passed us."Miaka informed.
Tohdoh, Naoto, Tamahome, Diethard, Kaguya and everyone else in the canteen area sighed in relief upon not being discovered by the Avalon.
Tohdoh did not respond in anyway, keeping as still and emotionless as he was before, lost in thought as the rest of the canteen immediately went into conversation.
"You've got to be kidding!"Tamaki complained."A battleship that can hover in midair? That's great!"
"They always had the nasty habits to give us new surprises."Tamahome muttered.
"We can't remain in this area any longer."Tohdoh declared."The risk is too great. We should pull out of here."
"Well, I disagree."Diethard stated."We ought to at least stay put and look for Lelouch and the others."
"He has a point."Naoto responded."They're probably still alive and waiting for us to rescue them."
"Yeah."Kaguya agreed and looked at Tohdoh."Rin and Kallen are fierce fighters, so they're probably protecting Lelouch and Rai at this very moment."
"I understand what you mean, Lady Kaguya."Tohdoh replied."But we can't send out a search party in this situation. Even though we're able to hide from yesterday's attack, thanks to Rakshata, we don't even know if Lelouch and the others are still alive. One wrong step and we threaten the very existence of our organisation."
Kaguya became sad at Tohdoh's respond and looked down.
"But Onee-sama…"Kaguya started.
Diethard frowned, not happy what Tohdoh just said.
"Just what are you saying?"Diethard questioned."This entire organisation is built around Zero and Shade."
"It's not a group without members, Diethard."Tohdoh reminded with a glare."Beside, neither Lelouch and Rin wouldn't want us to carelessly risk our lives."
"All right then, answer me this."Diethard retorted."We, the Black Knights, have supporters and allies from Japan and other places to stand against Britannia gathered here. Yet how is it possible that the whole lot of them can cooperate and work together toward the same goal? Who are the ones that give us results? It is because of their leadership and smart decisions that we are becoming a powerful force."
"I'm fully aware of what Lelouch and Rin do. I'm grateful to fight alongside them."Tohdoh stated."But it won't do any good for them risking the very organisation they worked to build."
"Sometimes there are things worth risking our lives for."Diethard informed."And I thought you would want to go find Rossellini since she's your prized pupil than Kururugi ever was."
This caused Tohdoh to become angry while Kaguya frowned at what she heard Diethard just say.
"You dare say these things here?"Tohdoh scowled."I would send almost everyone in this ship to find her and that is something that is the last thing that she would expect me to do."
Naoto quickly spoke up to earn both Tohdoh and Diethard's attention.
"Whoa, there. Easy guys."Naoto instructed firmly."There's no need to fight among ourselves."
"And there is no need to for this at all. We're all allies here."Kaguya reminded and then glanced at Diethard."And Diethard, you shouldn't talk so badly about Suzaku. He is still my cousin despite what he did."
"My apologises, Lady Kaguya."Diethard replied.
C.C then walked up to the group.
"They're alive."C.C stated, earning everyone's attention."I can assure you."
"We don't want wishful thinking, C.C."Tohdoh commented.
"It's not wishful thinking, Tohdoh. It's the truth."C.C stated."Lelouch, Lynn, Kallen and Rai are in Kamine Island."
"Kamine Island?"Tamahome said in surprise.
"It's not that far from Shikine Island."C.C exclaimed.
"How the hell did they ended up there?"Tamaki retorted.
"Are you certain they're there?"Yui questioned.
"They are."C.C answered."Trust me."
"If C.C says it's true, then I believe her."Naoto admitted with a small smile."She may a pain sometimes, but we should trust her on the information she gives."
"Then let's go rescue them."Kaguya insisted.
"Not right now, Lady Kaguya."C.C instructed."The Britannian Forces are on high alert, so might as well wait until tomorrow."
"Oh…"Kaguya pouted sadly.
"Then how about this?"Tamahome requested."We hang in a safe zone, an ocean area just outside of detection range, where we can wait until the end of tomorrow."
"All right."Tohdoh agreed.
Diethard frowned."Well, I suppose we have no choice."
C.C then walked out of the canteen as Yui secretly spoke to Inoue.
"Is she always like this?"Yui whispered.
Inoue shrugged in respond.
"That's C.C for you."Inoue sighed."An unusual yet reliable being."
C.C headed down the corridor, muttering to herself.
"Oh heaven's sake."C.C retorted in annoyance."Seeing what occurred yesterday, V.V is mostly likely the one who caused this silly prank. He really has a very poor taste for being such an imperious observer."
Back in Kamine Island…
Lelouch frowned upon failing to build a simple trap while Euphemia only brought some tropical fruit for her to eat.
"What's wrong?"Euphemia asked."They're quite tasty."
Lelouch simply looked down at the fruits in dismay.
"I'm sure you'll be able to make your pitfall trap tomorrow."Euphemia assured.
Rin murmured in delight as she sank her teeth into another fried squid she caught while she and Nonette sat around a bonfire.
Nonette removed her gloves and just looked at the fried fish on her stick in thought, but didn't eat.
Rin looked up at Nonette.
"What's the matter, Nonette?"Rin murmured between bites."You don't need to worry. The seafood are edible."
"Fine."Nonette answered.
Nonette simply began to eat her first fried fish while Rin began eating her fourth fried crab.
Kallen sighed in delight as she finished eating the cooked fishes and picuro meat that Rai and Suzaku cook for the three of them.
"Ohh! I can't eat another bite!"Kallen declared as she fell back against the log she was sitting against."Boy, am I stuffed!"
Suzaku sat across Kallen and Rai as he raised an eyebrow and smiled.
"So is this a glimpse of what you're really like?"Suzaku asked.
"Yeah."Kallen replied."You want to make something of it?"
"No."Suzaku answered."I think it's charming to see you so much livlier then you are at school."
Kallen's eyes widened a bit as she looked away, not responding.
"It's true, Kallen."Rai chuckled."You act so fragile back at Ashford Academy."
"Not helping, Rai."Kallen retorted.
Suzaku smiled at his friends before it vanished when he looked down.
"Kallen, Rai, leave the Black Knights."Suzaku suggested.
Both Kallen and Rai glared at Suzaku upon what he just said.
"It's not too late."Suzaku stated."A captured terrorist never winds up with a happy ending."
"Forget it, Suzaku."Rai scowled."We have pledged ourselves to the cause and not abandoning our friends because you asked us to."
"Me and Rai actually happen to be the captains of elite guards for Zero and Shade."Kallen admitted."And in fact, I've fought you in my Knightmare."
"Were you that red one known as the Guren Mk-II?"Suzaku assumed.
"That's right."Kallen agreed.
Suzaku looked at Rai.
"What about you, Rai?"Suzaku asked.
"I'm in the dark blue Knightmare called the Gekka Pre-Production Test Type."Rai explained."So I took part in the battle of Narita, Port Yokosuka and rescuing General Tohdoh too."
"Our goal is to free Japan and other nations from Britannia's clutches."Kallen stated."In the end, we give people hope because they know we are fighting for them."
Suzaku frowned."Using Zero's methods offers no future."
Kallen and Rai glared at Suzaku.
"Offers no future? Keep telling yourself that!"Kallen snapped."You're just living the life of a conqueror's subjugated lapdog even though you're now a knight to Britannia's 3rd Princess!"
"Because we're standing up and showing the world that Britannia is not as mighty as it claims to be, many people are joining the Black Knights."Rai admitted sternly."We treat those around us with respect and care unlike the trashy people that you're working with that didn't give a damn to have you sacrificed to destroy us and Zero yesterday."
"I agree on that, Rai."Suzaku answered."The people within Britannia have negative views and treat non-Britannians unfairly. But neither of you are giving the chance to try and change it from the inside."
Kallen scowled at Suzaku's respond.
"You're so naïve and gullible."Kallen retorted."Of course, you would say that."
"You blame us because you think we're making Japan worse because we refused to live the peace of slavery."Rai responded with a glare."But you were the one that allowed Japan to fall into Britannia's clutches in the first place after you killed your father."
A shocked look appeared on Suzaku's face.
"How did-"Suzaku started.
"That's right, Suzaku."Kallen replied."We know."
"Tohdoh told us."Rai admitted."Yet he still cares about you. Even after what you did."
Lelouch placed his cape down on the ground for Euphemia to lay on as he sat on a rock.
The two half-siblings were staring at the starry night sky.
"The stars haven't changed, have they? They were the same back then."Euphemia stated with a sad smile."Long ago, we all used to gaze up at the stars together."
A melancholy smile upon remembering himself, Nunnally, Rin and Euphemia gazing at the stars together in Aries Villa with Marianne next to them.
"Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could live like that again?"Euphemia asked."I'd be so happy then. Can't we go back to that?"
"Yes, you're right."Lelouch agreed."It would be so good to just go back to how things were."
Lelouch didn't deny it.
He missed how things actually were.
But sadly, he knew the good memories would never come back.
Even though Euphemia wanted them to.
Rin rested against a rock after she and Nonette finished eating the seafood delights that she fried.
Now the brunette began to close her eyes and only wanted to relax as the small bonfire kept her and Nonette warm.
The Knight of Nine, however, was more into asking questions than resting for the night.
"Lynn, tell me."Nonette insisted."Are Lelouch and Nunnally alive?"
"I'm not answering your questions, Nonette."Rin answered sternly.
"Just tell me."Nonette begged.
Rin opened her eyes to glare at Nonette.
"Why should I?"Rin asked coldly."So you can tell Cornelia and the two of them to end being political tools again by their heartless father, who abandoned them in a foreign land and left them for dead?"
"That's not it."Nonette replied with a frown."I just-"
"Don't bother, Nonette."Rin retorted."I'm not talking to you."
Nonette was silent for a moment before talking to the brunette.
"Your father and Adeline miss you, Lynn."Nonette declared."The villa of the Rossellini family had not been the same without you."
"Really, Nonette? From what I hear my big sister is busy and enjoying the life of being a wealthy Sammarinese businesswoman and heiress."Rin declared in a bitter tone."Not to mention, I actually thought my father was dead until Euphie told me that he was actually living in his family's villa in Florence for the last seven years."
A stunned look appeared on Nonette's face.
"Hold on."Nonette said in surprise."Euphie knew you were alive and never bothered to mention to me or Cornelia?"
Rin flinched upon what she just said and glared on her right side.
"Yes."Rin muttered."She saw me with Lelouch and Nunnally at the Clovisland Pool Resort, but she agreed to not to say a word about us surviving the war in Japan."
"I see."Nonette answered."But if you're Shade, does that mean Lelouch is Zero?"
A wave of panic started to grow inside Rin, but she showed no reaction.
"The information about Zero's identity is classified."Rin retorted sharply."What gives you the idea that it's Lelouch?"
"The man behind Zero's mask is someone highly intelligent, but doesn't have the talented skills to pilot a Knightmare."Nonette complemented."In other words, he almost sounds like someone that has a grudge towards the Royal Family."
This immediately caused Rin to become angry.
"Are you actually blaming Lelouch and Nunnally for taking shelter here in former Japan?!"Rin snapped, glaring at the Knight of Nine."You and Cornelia admired Lady Marianne and yet neither of you spoke up to help them and just stood by watching them get exiled! Additionally, the Duke had sent soldiers to save my father's life in the war and didn't care if me, my mother and her relatives would die! I am one of his granddaughters yet, he never accepted me because I am half-Japanese! He had the power to save all of us, but he was too much wrapped in his righteousness and arrogance! We have nothing in this world, if we don't have family!"
Nonette didn't respond to the brunette's reply.
Suzaku continued speaking to Kallen and Rai.
"Zero is a lot like my father."Suzaku declared with a frown."He firmly believes that the entire world revolves around him. That's why he's able to justify spilling the blood of so many people."
"You're wrong! Zero is nothing like that! Not even Shade!"Kallen snapped."You're assuming it's okay for the Britannian Military have the rights to do what they like such as mistreat and slaughter Non-Britannians?! Even those who can't even defend themselves?! Is that what you're trying to say?! You accept the way things are now?!"
"Also you decided to remain an Honorary Britannian after the Purist Faction framed you and plan to use you as a scapegoat for a crime you didn't even commit! Milly's fiancé, Lloyd Asplund may be your boss, but I hear his a self-proclaimed sociopath since he prefers to see humans as parts of a machine rather than actual people, interchangeable and replaceable!"Rai growled."Honestly, Suzaku! The thought of you working for these types of people makes me vomit!"
A sad look appeared on Suzaku's face as he looked down at his friends' responds.
"I'm not saying or accepting that what Britannia is doing is normal and what they did to me was right, but you can't justify the crimes that Zero and Shade did."Suzaku responded.
Both Kallen and Rai were repulsed at Suzaku's reply, seeing it was pointless trying to talk sense into him.
"What's the point talking to you, Suzaku?"Kallen scoffed as she rested against the log that were behind her and Rai."You just don't understand."
"You killed your father and betrayed your people. But you still think yourself better than any of us."Rai retorted."So it won't come as a surprise if you end up betraying your friends someday."
"I would never betray my friends, Rai."Suzaku argued with a frown."It also isn't that I want you two to give up. I just want you to ask yourselves. When you gain results the wrong way, what are you left with in the end? Only dark regret and a deep emptiness that have nowhere to go. And our friends in the Student Council wouldn't want either of you to risk your lives for a pointless cause."
"We have a point to fight against Britannia."Kallen declared."It's to create a better and free world for everyone we care about and even those we don't even know. But your too blind to see that."
"Don't blame anyone but yourself, if things don't end up going your way."Rai warned in a sharp tone.
Rin rested on the floor while her mask was next to her.
"Lynn, I understand mistakes were made and someone should've helped saving your loved ones. Especially Lelouch and Nunnally, who needed support after losing their mother."Nonette responded."But rebelling against the Empire is not going to make things better for you or any else in the Black Knights."
"So what you suggest we do?"Rin questioned sarcastically."Disarm and enjoy being trampled by those who they're better than us?"
"No. I can help you. The same goes to Lelouch and Nunnally."Nonette insisted."I can convince the Emperor to not judge you and Lelouch so severely. After all, I am one of his trusted knights and a Knight of the Round."
"Oh, sure."Rin scowled in a bitter tone."The Emperor doesn't care about any of his children and if he ended up using them as mere pawns that end up dead by his own actions or not. He'll probably have me and Lelouch executed the moment the two of us take our first steps to Pendragon. You know that full well."
Nonette frowned at Rin's words, but knew she was telling the truth.
"But Adeline will make sure nothing bad will happen to you."Nonette suggested."She is the Knight of Eleven. She can-"
"Adeline and I are sisters, but we have different mothers. Her late mother was Countess Feodora Bryce. The younger sister of Empress Victoria li Britannia which makes her a cousin of Cornelia and Euphie as well as a descendant of Empress Claire. But Adeline has no memory of her birth mother since she died after giving birth to her."Rin reminded sternly."My mother was Mira Sumeragi. A lady that never cared about personal gain, but only wanted to make everyone around her happy. And the Duke wasn't fond of her only because she was Japanese. But that didn't matter to my father since she had a similar personality as his late wife and it was one of the reasons why he chose her."
"Why do you attend to make things difficult when I'm only trying to make you see reason, Lynn."Nonette scowled, annoyed that the brunette refused to be offered help."Your father lost two wives. Would it be so bad to let him know you're alive?"
Rin was silent at Nonette's question.
Her father and older sister were among the people she cared about a lot and would mean a lot to her to see them again after so long.
But now that she was part of the Black Knights and fighting against the Holy Britannian Empire, it would be a bit tricky.
"I love my father as much as I love Adeline."Rin assured softly."He maybe a billionaire and she is one of the Knights of the Round, but the Duke is the one with the true power and doesn't really care about me. As far as his concerned, I don't exist."
After saying that, Rin closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Lelouch looked at Euphemia sleeping while being lost in his thoughts.
"Euphie."Lelouch thought."Even for me to survive…"
Suzaku stared at the starry night sky while Kallen and Rai were fast asleep.
"Even struggling with my shame, I still search for a reason to go on living."Suzaku thought sadly."I'm a disgrace."
Nonette frowned as she placed her gloves back on, thinking what Rin said to her.
"Family is not an important thing. It's everything."Nonette thought firmly."Then again, the Emperor never showed any emotion when he learned Lady Marianne and Clovis were killed. Not even Marrybell's own mother Lady Flora and younger sister, Julia. But still…"
The Knight of Nine then saw lights shinning from another area on the island up toward the clouds.
The Avalon had stationed itself near the center of the Kamine Island.
Schneizel was at the control center of his personal aircraft carrier with both General Bartley and Lloyd by his side.
"We couldn't find Major Kururugi or Lady Enneagram washed ashore on the other island, so it's obvious we should look here."Schneizel suggested.
"We'll send a search party out in the morning."General Bartley insisted.
Schneizel then brought his attention to the Avalon's screen to see a cave that was outside, right in front of the craft.
"Hmm."Schneizel said."And this must be what you mentioned?"
"Yes."General Bartley replied."We uncovered it when the Shinjuku incident occurred."
"Ah."Schneizel responded."Yes, I can see why this would've attracted Clovis' interest."
The Next Morning…
Suzaku escorted Kallen and Rai in the direction they thought was a search party.
"Are you sure you really saw a light?"Kallen questioned.
"Yeah, I'm positive."Suzaku answered.
"Alright."Rai said simply."We'll take your word for it."
Nonette was leading a bound Shade to where she the lights shun the previous night.
"So Nonette, what makes you think its a Britannian search party?"Shade questioned smugly."What will you do if it's my people?"
"I doubt it's Zero and the Black Knights, Lynn."Nonette said simply."If it is them, I know how to take care of them."
"Sure."Shade sneered smugly."Just like your Osenain battled against my Rosen."
Nonette stopped walking to look at Shade.
"Alright. I hate to admit, but it seems your skills on piloting a Knightmare has really improved since I last trained you."Nonette admitted with a smile."You know it's not too late to get out from the path you're walking in."
Shade frowned at Nonette.
"No thank you."Shade scowled."I'm not quitting being part of the Black Knights. Not now. Not ever."
Nonette simply shook her head and then continued walking with Shade following behind her.
However, the Knight of Nine was unaware that Shade stole her pocket knife and was using it to cut the sash that bound her hands.
Lelouch was heading to where he saw the light as well with Euphemia accompanying him.
"It must be a search party."Lelouch suggested."Once we learn who it is, we'll know how to deal with them."
"Deal with them?"Euphemia asked with a hint of worry.
Schneizel, Lloyd and General Bartley were now inside the cave they discovered, facing what appeared to be ancient hieroglyphics on a massive stone door that
"A Thought Elevator, you say?"Lloyd sneered in amusement."I'm afraid archeology isn't my strong suit, especially this paranormal stuff."
"Why, you…show some respect!"General Bartley growled.
Lloyd looked at Schneizel.
"As I was saying, this is way outside of my field."Lloyd suggested."I wish you could've asked Cécile about this instead."
"Please don't complain so much. My father is infatuated with this as well."Schneizel replied and looked at General Bartley."Isn't that right, Bartley?"
"Yes."General Bartley agreed with a nod."We've found artifacts similar to these in a number of places around the world. Except for this one that I discovered, all the other sites are directly under imperial control. This is mere speculation on my part, but I think the real reason we're invading other countries is to obtain these objects!"
Lloyd glanced at the Gawain that was parked near the Thought Elevator.
"And so, in order to analyze this ancient occult data, you're going to use the Gawain's Druid System, untuned prototype that it is?"Lloyd assumed.
"That's why we called you in."Schneizel admitted.
"Ah-hah."Lloyd chuckled amusingly.
Lelouch and Euphemia arrived at the edge of a large clearing.
"I think it was around here."Lelouch assumed.
"Lelouch, if it is a search party, then will our time be over here?"Euphemia asked with a hint of sadness.
"Yes, it will."Lelouch replied firmly.
This caused Euphemia to become sad.
"I see…"Euphemia answered softly.
A smile then appeared on Lelouch's face.
"I'm such an undependable knight. I couldn't even capture you any food."Lelouch chuckled in embarrassment."And besides, that's a job reserved for a real knight. Your knight, Suzaku Kururugi. Mind if I ask you? Why choose an Honorary Britannian?"
A little blush appeared on Euphemia's face at her half-brother's respond and looked down shyly.
"Well…you see…"Euphemia started.
Euphemia paused at the sound of a moving bush coming across from them causing Lelouch to notice this and put on his cape.
He takes Euphemia to a nearby bush so that he can be ready to shoot anyone.
Immediately, the former prince puts on his mask to be Zero again.
Then Suzaku, Kallen and Rai appeared together.
"Kallen and Rai with Suzaku?"Lelouch thought in surprise."What are those three doing together?"
Then Euphemia immediately stood up from the bushes at seeing her knight.
"Suzaku!"Euphemia called out.
Suzaku, Kallen and Rai became surprised at seeing Euphemia.
"Princess Euphemia."Suzaku responded.
Then Zero stood up and went next to Euphemia.
"Well, this is unexpected."Zero commented.
Kallen and Rai were surprised at seeing their masked leader.
"Zero."Kallen said.
"You're here too."Rai remarked.
Suzaku frowned at seeing Zero before looking at Princess Euphemia.
"Your Highness, are you alright?"Suzaku questioned."Did he hurt you?"
"Not at all, Suzaku."Euphemia said with a smile."Zero took care of me and made sure I was out of harms way."
"Really?"Suzaku questioned in disbelief.
"Of course, Kururugi."Zero assured."I did say I fight for the weak, remember?"
Suzaku glared at Zero.
"That is a relief."
Zero, Euphemia, Suzaku, Kallen and Rai looked to the other direction to see Nonette and Shade.
"Nonette!"Euphemia said happily.
"Lady Enneagram?"Suzaku said in confusion.
From behind his mask, Lelouch was worried at seeing his girlfriend's hands bound and near the Knight of Nine.
"Are you okay, Shade?"Zero asked.
"I'm fine, Zero."Shade answered simply and glared at Nonette."The Knight of Nine made sure I wasn't unharmed."
"How about this, Lady Enneagram and Kururugi?"Zero assumed."I take my subordinates and I gave you back, Princess Euphemia."
Nonette glared at Zero.
"I don't think so, Zero."Nonette retorted."You and Shade are the very leaders of the Black Knights as well as the most wanted criminals of the Empire. So you and your subordinates might as well surrender for your right hand's sake."
Kallen and Rai glared at Nonette.
"You witch!"Kallen snarled.
"You have no right to boss us because you're a Knight of the Round!"Rai growled.
"Nonette, all of this is not necessary."Euphemia stated with a sad smile.
"Sorry, Euphie."Nonette replied."But you can't tell me what to do."
"So you plan to have us surrender to you because you have my right hand in your clutches?"Zero scoffed."Big mistake."
At the moment, Shade broke free the sash that bound her hands and took Nonette hostage while pointing her pocket knife towards her neck.
"You should've been more careful of the toys that you left around."Shade warned coldly.
Suzaku and Euphemia were shocked at what they were seeing.
"Leave her alone, Shade!"Suzaku demanded.
"Shut up, you stupid lapdog!"Shade snarled and glanced at Euphemia."Alright, Euphemia! Listen up! You want the Knight of Nine back without a scratch, then tell her and Kururugi to let the subordinates of Zero and myself go to him!"
"Euphie, don't listen to her!"Nonette retorted.
Euphemia looked at Nonette, but nevertheless she accepted following Shade's orders.
"As you wish, Shade."Euphemia replied and looked at her knight and the Knight of Nine."Nonette, Suzaku, let Shade and the two that are with you go to Zero."
"But Princess-"Suzaku started.
"Do as I say!"Euphemia demanded.
Suzaku obeyed Euphemia and moved out of the way to let Kallen and Rai go back to Zero.
At the same time, Shade shoved Nonette away and made her way back to Zero as well.
Suzaku and Euphemia went over to Nonette to see if she was unharmed as the Knight of Nine stood up from the ground.
"You shouldn't have done that, Euphie."Nonette muttered.
"It's not like you to take hostages, Nonette."Euphemia said with a frown."You've never done that before."
Zero, Shade, Kallen and Rai stood close to each other while glaring at their enemies.
"Good to see all three of you alive."Zero declared."Now we can-"
However, a massive glowing red Geass sigil formed on the ground, much to everyone's shock.
Zero felt his Geass activate for a moment despite not activating himself while Rai cried out in pain as he fell on his knees, clutching his head.
"Rai!"Kallen cried out."What's wrong?!"
Rai turned around, only to show the Geass sigil in both his eyes glowing brightly which shocked Zero, Shade and Kallen.
"Your eyes!"Kallen gasped.
"It can't be!"Zero thought.
"No way!"Shade thought in disbelief."Rai has Geass too?!"
A sinister smile appeared on V.V's face upon knowing what was happening in Kamine Island and his nephew fell into his trap.
Back in Kamine Island…
Zero, Shade, Kallen, Rai, Nonette, Suzaku and Euphemia became worried as the entire ground beneath them began to shake and collapse.
The Thought Elevator began to glow a bright red, which shocked Schneizel, Lloyd, General Bartley and the Britannian soldiers as the entire cave shook with incredible force.
"My Lord, please save yourself!"General Bartley insisted.
General Bartley attempted to pull Schneizel out of the way as they saw the platform above fall into the cave carrying with them the group consisting of Zero, Shade, Kallen, Rai, Suzaku, Euphemia, and Nonette.
"Major Kururugi! Lady Enneagram!"Lloyd shouted and became shocked at seeing the wanted criminals of the Empire."And is that…Zero and Shade?"
Zero and Shade turned around in surprise to see General Bartley and a couple of Britannian soldiers.
"Not good."Zero retorted.
"Crap."Shade muttered.
The Britannian soldiers aimed their guns at Zero and his comrades.
"Don't you, you fools!"General Bartley snapped."Princess Euphemia and Lady Enneagram are with them! Capture them! Capture them!"
Kallen notice Rai was still on his knees in shock causing her to grab him by the arm.
"Come on, Rai!"Kallen protested."We've got to go!"
Rai snapped out of his shock and stood up.
"Y-Yeah!"Rai replied simply."Okay!"
Shade notice the Gawain near her and her companions.
"Look, Zero, that's a Knightmare over there!"Shade remarked.
"Perfect! We'll use that!"Zero declared."Let's go!"
"Right!"Kallen and Rai answered in unison.
Shade and Kallen quickly punched the Britannian soldiers that attempted to stop them.
Zero was the first to rush to the Gawain before Shade, Kallen and Rai quickly joined him.
The Gawain had two seats, so Shade went on the top seat while Zero went to the bottom seat.
Kallen and Rai went on the shoulders of the Gawain.
Euphemia became worried when she notice Suzaku was frozen in shock.
"Suzaku, what is it?"Euphemia asked worriedly."What's wrong?"
Zero smirked as he and Shade began working on using the Gawain.
"This is good!"Zero praised."Not only unmanned, but activated too!"
Nonette retreated from being hit by Rai and Kallen's guns as General Bartley and his soldiers went to protect her, Suzaku and Euphemia.
"From a wall in front of Princess Euphemia and Lady Enneagram!"General Bartley ordered."Hurry!"
Inside the Gawain, Zero was getting the black Knightmare ready and was pleased as he closed the pod of the Gawain.
"What kind of Knightmare is this?"Zero murmured."It's our lucky day!"
Shade glared at something causing her to warn Zero.
"Zero, look!"Shade warned.
Zero followed his girlfriend's gaze and saw Schneizel through the Gawain's screens.
"Schneizel!"Zero scowled.
Schneizel looked at the greatest enemies of the Holy Britannian Empire.
"So that's them?"Schneizel asked with a glare."That's Zero and Shade?"
The Gawain started to move as Kallen and Rai braced themselves tightly on its shoulders.
"Ah!"Lloyd panicked."The Gawain!"
General Bartley glared at the soldiers.
"Stop those rebels now! Get the machine back!"General Bartley demanded."We can't allow it to fall into Zero's hands!"
Inside the Gawain, Zero took the controls as Shade glanced at him.
"What in the world is the Prime Minister of Britannia doing here?"Shade questioned.
"We'll have to figure that out for another time."Zero declared.
Then Sutherlands were rushing towards the cave with the intent to stop the Gawain from leaving.
"Sutherlands are blocking our exit!"Rai retorted.
"Hang on tight!"Zero ordered."We're going through them!"
Zero used the Hadron Cannon of the Gawain and fired at the Sutherlands, surprising his companions.
However, the Gawain's attack was imperfect and didn't hit any off enemy units.
Zero and Shade took off their masks.
"Damn!"Lelouch retorted."The weapons are incomplete!"
The Gawain was out of the cave and rushed to get away as more Sutherlands showed up with rifles ready to shoot it.
"Zero!"Kallen called out."Reinforcements!"
A grin appeared on Lelouch's face.
"Don't be worried yet!"Lelouch assured."Another system is operational."
Lelouch pulled the level and the Gawain started to levitate from the ground and was up in the air which surprised Rin, Kallen and Rai.
"We're flying?!"Kallen said in surprise."This Knightmare can fly!"
"Awesome!"Rai chuckled in amazement.
Rin gasped in awe upon being in a Knightmare that can actually fly in the sky.
"This is so cool!"Rin admitted.
Lelouch let out a victorious laugh as the Gawain flew off from Kamine Island.
Nonette glared at where the Gawain took off, not happy that Zero and Shade got away once again.
"Lynn, next time…"Nonette vowed.
General Bartley became upset upon seeing the Gawain stolen and now at the hands of the Black Knights.
"The Gawain!"General Bartley whined."Our beautiful prize Gawain!"
"Well, it was only a test model."Schneizel stated before looking at Nonette, Euphemia and Suzaku."Aside from that, I'm thankful you're both all right."
Euphemia went over to Schneizel.
"Oh, Schneizel, I missed you!"Euphemia said happily.
Schneizel smiled at his younger sister.
"Dear Euphie, I'm sorry it took us so long."Schneizel apologised.
"No, it's all right."Euphemia assured.
A solider glanced at Schneizel.
"Your Highness, shall we keep to the schedule?"the soldier suggested.
"Hm? Oh, right."Schneizel replied.
Suddenly, the military soldiers ran up to Suzaku.
"Major Suzaku Kururugi, you're under arrest for a violation of military regulations."the soldier declared.
Both Euphemia and Nonette became surprised at the soldier's declaration.
"What's the meaning of this?!"Euphemia demanded angrily."Major Kururugi is my knight! You can't do–"
Schneizel put a hand on Euphemia's shoulder.
"This is something I can take care of later."Schneizel suggested."For now, let them be."
Nonette glanced at Schneizel.
"Why?"Nonette questioned."Did something happen?"
In the Sky…
The Gawain was flying away to go back to Japan and join up with the rest of the Black Knights.
"I've contacted Naoto."Lelouch declared."We'll rendezvous with them out at sea."
"Right."Kallen replied."What about our Knightmares?"
"They were recovered."Lelouch admitted."We have to thank Tamahome and the Four Holy Swords for that."
"Right."Kallen answered.
Rin smiled. "That's a relief."
Rai, however, was not in a good mood, but looked sad and guilty over something.
Kallen looked at Rai.
"What's wrong, Rai?"Kallen asked.
"I…I just need to relax when we come back."Rai suggested with a weak smile.
Rin smirked at Lelouch.
"Rakshata is going to love the gift we got for her."Rin complemented."It's incomplete, but I'm sure she will get ideas to make it better."
"That's good."Lelouch sneered."I could use a better Knightmare than just a Burai."
"Right."Rin giggled.
When Rin focused back on looking at the map, an unhappy look appeared on Lelouch's face.
The former prince recalled the moment where he and Suzaku's life were on the line the days before the big ship came in.
"Suzaku, forgive me."Lelouch thought with a frown."I never intended to use the power on you, but…"
A flashback reveals that Zero reluctantly used Geass on Suzaku, giving him the command to automatically find some way to 'live' whenever he is faced with certain death.
Because of this, he escaped the blast by hiding in the Lancelot before getting transported.
In Kamine Island…
Suzaku, Nonette, Euphemia and Colonel Fayer were listening to the video evidence on how Zero and the Black Knights were saved from being hit by the Avalon.
"Major Kururugi, follow your orders!"Colonel Fayer ordered.
"Shut up!"Suzaku snapped."Who cares about them?! I have to live!"
Colonel Fayer turns off the machine and gives a glare at Suzaku.
"I have no idea how you got out of the Lancelot, but you blew a golden opportunity to put an end to Zero in order to save your own life according to this."Colonel Fayer retorted."Are you going to protest this evidence?"
Suzaku was utterly stunned upon the evidence of him disobeying orders, but was confused due to having no memory of doing so.
"Was that…really me?"Suzaku asked in confusion.
"This is nothing less than an insubordination!"Colonel Fayer scowled.
Euphemia looked at Suzaku in sadness while Nonette didn't say anything as she thought about what she learned about Prince Clovis' actions on ordering the massacre of Shinjuku.
"Kururugi doesn't remember what occurred the day before yesterday. Just like Jeremiah didn't remember allowing Zero and his comrades to escape after rescuing him."Nonette thought with a frown."So it's clear to say that, the man behind Zero's mask is someone that has Geass which explains how was able to cause 'miracles' to happen. But now that I know that Lynn is Shade, it is obvious that Zero is your son, Lady Marianne. Who would've foreseen this?"
Meanwhile…
The members of the Black Knights were waiting for Zero, Shade, Kallen and Rai to return.
Soon, the hangar doors above the ceiling opens wide enough for the Gawain to touch down gently, amazing Naoto, Kaguya and the others.
Then the cockpit of the Gawain opened revealing Lelouch and Rin as Kallen and Rai jumped off the shoulders of the black Knightmare.
"You guys made it back!"Naoto remarked in relief.
Naoto embraced Kallen, happy that his younger sister was safe.
"Onee-sama! Lelouch!"Kaguya said joyfully."Thank goodness! You're all okay!"
Kaguya rushed to hug Rin before hugging Lelouch.
Rakshata smirked upon seeing the Gawain.
"My, my, what do we have here?"Rakshata asked.
"A new Knightmare, Rakshata."Kallen remarked."It's yours to check."
Rai silently began to walk away causing Tamaki to notice him.
"Hey, soldier boy."Tamaki commented."Where are you going?"
"I'm going to relax a bit."Rai declared.
Rai walked away as Tamaki looked at Kallen to find an answer for the silver haired boy's behaviour.
"What's with him?"Tamaki questioned.
"No idea."Kallen answered with a shrug."His been like that when we fled from the Britannian Military."
Tohdoh came over to Lelouch and Rin.
"Lelouch, Rin, glad to see you're both alright."Tohdoh stated.
"Thank you, Tohdoh."Lelouch responded.
"Say what happened to you guys?"Kaguya questioned curiously."You've all disappeared and ended up in another island."
"That unfortunately we don't honestly have any clues or the answer for, my imouto."Rin replied.
"Yeah."Kallen agreed with a nod."It was like we were teleported there in a way."
"That is strange."Tamahome commented.
"Well, what's more important that you guys are all okay."Naoto stated.
"Indeed, Naoto."Lelouch replied and thought suspiciously."Though I think C.C knows why the four of us ended up there in the first place with Euphie, Suzaku and Nonette."
"You guys must be hungry."Kaguya assumed."We've got meals ready for you."
"Good."Rin chuckled in relief."I'm starving."
Lelouch looked down in thought before following his girlfriend and comrades to the cafeteria.
So Lelouch, Rin, Kallen and Rai returned to the Black Knights, but what will happen next?
