Zero's Lady
Chapter 30: Allies in Paris
Location: Paris, France
Rin sat with Leila Breisgau at outsides of the Baguett's Café which was a cafe located next to the garden of Palais-Royal.
The brunette wore a ruby red coat with black fur on the wrists and neck. A white maple leaf was drawn at the middle of the neck and a large lined maple leaf design was on the lower left corner. The outfit she wore was a form fitting short blue dress with long sleeves and a black collar that had a white maple leaf drawn at the middle. Underneath she wore grey knit hosiery and high heeled white-grey boots with maroon soles. Her long curly dark chocolate brown hair was dyed dark golden blonde that had one round bun on each side with each of her hair was taken into a strand and curled at the end excluding her bangs.
Leila wore her usual W-0 Unit uniform.
"Lynn, must you drag us to another war?"Leila questioned, placing her cup of chamomile tea close to her lip."We just finished dealing with the Holy Order of Michael."
A sigh escaped from Rin's mouth.
"Leila, I know you and the other members of the Wyvern Squad all attend to retire from fighting. But you can't really ignore how rotten the Holy Britannian Empire really is."Rin complemented."Things are going to get worse for everyone, if we don't do something about it."
Leila took a sip from her chamomile tea before placing the cup down.
"Just what exactly are you asking for, Lynn?"Leila asked.
Rin takes a bite on her hazelnut filled croissant before responding to her friend.
"I asking for you and the wZERO Unit's help, Leila."Rin admitted."Your team's skills and the Knightmares that you guys use in combat are very impressive. You wish to end the war in the E.U. and to save the Japanese, who fight the wars instead of the Europeans. But the people I work attend to help all the people in the world. If you join the Order of the Black Knights, you can make a big difference."
Leila shook her head.
"Rin, I appreciate you coming to me for help. But I don't know if Akito and the rest of wZERO Unit are ready to jump into a complete war against the Britannian Empire."Leila exclaimed."I know you want to make the world a better place. But…"
A small smile appeared on Rin's face.
"Okay, Leila. I understand."Rin assured."You want to live a normal life with the people you care about and…with the guy you love."
Leila became surprised and her cheeks turned pink at Rin's declaration.
"How did you-"Leila started.
"I will tell you something. I am in a romantic relationship with Zero."Rin stated with a small smirk."I care deeply about him as you deeply care about Akito. And if you two love each other a lot, I am sure you both would agree to do the right thing in the end. Think about it."
Not long after her conversation with Leila, Rin began walking in the streets of Paris.
"The most romantic city in the world and Lelouch isn't here to enjoy it with me."Rin thought and smiled shyly."I sound like one of those hopeless romantics who gets taken in by Paris and its charms. Though I'd prefer to think it's because I'm really in love."
Rin began walking down the Champs-Elysées, staring at the small traffic in the background.
Nearly 2 kilometres in length, this historic thoroughfare runs from Place de la Concorde to the majestic Arc de Triomphe.
But though it has since become 'the world's most beautiful avenue', the Champs-Élysées was once a swamp.
"Euro Britannia was likely established sometime after Holy Britannian Empire conquered Russia in the first sphere of expansion after the World Wars. Since then, Euro Britannia has been at war with the Europia United and has acted as the Holy Britannian Empire's eastern front against their European rivals."Rin thought with a small glare."But it is made up of Britannian Nobles with connections to old pre-EU Europe and have fought on behalf of the Holy Britannian Empire in an effort to reclaim their lost land."
Rin walked further around Paris and stopped to where the Eiffel Tower was.
"Though Euro Britannia's origins begin back in pre-EU Europe."Rin thought."During that time, nobles had ruled the continent but were eventually overthrown by European revolutionaries and were forced to flee into exile back to North America where they had crushed a rebellion lead by George Washington and established the Holy Britannian Empire in its place."
Rin noticed her phone was ringing and took it out, only to see Lelouch was calling her.
The disguised brunette then answered her caller.
"Bonjour, bel inconnu."Rin responded in a French accent."Je pensais avoir de vos nouvelles."
Rin's Translation: Hello, handsome stranger. I thought I would here from you.
She heard Lelouch chuckle in the background.
"Must you talk like you're really French, Rin?"Lelouch questioned.
Rin glanced at her surroundings to check nothing was out of the ordinary.
"I thought you loved a woman that fluently speaks several languages, Mr Lamperouge."Rin teased before going back to the main subject."It is likely the Emperor has send a few spies from the Geass Order in each part of the world to look for us. How is Russia?"
"Miserably cold. Though I hope coming here is worth it."Lelouch responded."Doesn't seem not many Russians are fans of the Holy Britannian Empire."
A small smirk appeared on Rin's face.
"I'm sure you can handle it. Even with the Pizza Girl with you."Rin remarked."You are the man that can make miracles happen. Just be sure to think carefully before taking action."
"I can say the same to you, il mio angelo."Lelouch sneered."Be careful."
"You too."Rin answered.
Rin blows a kiss before ending the phone call with her boyfriend.
The disguised brunette then made her way back to the luxury hotel that she was staying known as the Britannique Hotel.
Rin showed her ID card which had the name 'Stellar Loussier' instead of her real identity to the doorman before he opened the door for her and she stepped into the hotel's lobby.
The lobby of the hotel was on the ground floor and was entered from the main entrance with a white tiled floor and several square pillars supporting the ceiling.
To the left of the entrance are the reception, a red desk with several drawers and a white top, a telephone, computer, guest books, and several red pigeonholes where the room keys are stored. At the far end of these is a supply closet next to an entrance to the main stairway.
To the right are several sets of armchairs and tables for the guests to sit at, three elevators at the far end, and around these are many desktops, lamps, and vases of red flowers. In the center was a large vase of red flowers on a glass table, in the middle of an eight-sided cross and circle decorative marking with rose-like markings on each arm of the cross, on the floor.
Towards the back was a set of stairs going up forwards before splitting to the left and right, all with iron banisters of similar patterns to the window frames and a red carpet underneath.
At the top of these stairs was a level with several doors to the left and right and the in the center is the name of the hotel, its logo and five stars all painted in gold across the wall. Four lights are positioned about these to illuminate them.
All around the room were lamps with lampshades of gold eight-sided frames and square gaps, vases containing either red or purple flowers, and red and gold paintings. The room was illuminated by several chandeliers of similar design to the lampshades.
Rin looked around the hotel and saw people going on with their daily things. Including those that worked in the hotel.
But that didn't meant she should let her guard down.
There could be a spy of Emperor Charles lurking about.
Rin took out a small key to open the door of the hotel room she was staying at.
"All the more reason to be careful."Rin muttered.
The hotel room that Rin was staying at was air-conditioned with a desk, a kettle, a fridge, a safety deposit box, a flat-screen TV, a patio and a private bathroom with a shower. It also included bed linen and towels.
After checking there weren't any cameras or tracking devices in her room, Rin checked the messages on her phone.
The disguised brunette noticed Naoto had text her and then checked the message he sent her.
Naoto's Message: Have arrived to Russia safely. Wish us luck.
Rin smiled slightly before she removed her coat and placed it in the stand hanger.
She then went over to her luggage and took out her laptop before typing a couple of things in it.
"Novosibirsk is the chief city of western Siberia, in south-central Russia."Rin thought."If Zero provides the Russians with Akatsuki and Burai blueprints, they can mass produced Knightmares for our rebellion against Euro Britannia. If more countries produce burai and akatsuki, the better. But we'll need 6 months to 1 year to gather our forces to fight Euro Britannia. China already suffered from High Eunuchs that makes them third world country that have strong military, but they didn't have strong economy to support fighting in a world war. Now that China has Empress Tianzi focus in its economy and Li Xingke focused on their building military, it seems we still have hope."
Rin looked at the designs of the Burai and Akatsuki Knightmares that appeared on her laptop that were sent by Rakshata.
"With Euphemia with us, does Cornelia still attend to be the Viceroy of former Japan or will she be replaced with another of her half-brothers or half-sisters?"Rin questioned with a hint of suspicion."I can only guess that both Prince Castor and Pollux rui Britannia are next on the list since these twin brothers both have military experience and fulfill their own ambitions. Even if it means to kill their own siblings to achieve them."
At Castle Weisswolf, Leila met up with Akito, Ryo, Yukiya and Ayano to tell them about Rin's offer to join the Order of the Black Knights.
"So Rin asked you to join the Black Knights?"Akito asked.
"I said I would think about it."Leila replied."But she clearly asked if all of the Wyvern squad can. Not just me."
A scoff escaped from Ryo's mouth.
"We're not really going to join them, right?"Ryo questioned with a frown."We recently agreed not to join another fight anymore."
"But the Order of the Black Knights is growing everyday."Ayano admitted."I don't see any harm if we help out a bit."
Yukiya typed on his laptop.
"If we join these knights of justice, it clearly means we're part of a bigger fight than the last one we were in."Yukiya complemented."We'll be going on a complete war against the Holy Britannian Empire."
Akito glanced at the window outside which showed the pure blue sky.
He recently lost his older half-brother Shin Hyuga Shaing and the entire Wyvern Squad wanted to go live in the Gypsies' camp since they didn't want to take part in anymore fights.
But taking part of a war against the Holy Britannian Empire and freeing the whole world from its tyranny?
Were both Zero and Shade really serious in the message that they broadcast to the whole world on what they were setting out to do?
If so, the leader and co-leader of the Black Knights were going to need all the help they can get.
A small frown appeared on Akito's face.
"Things would only get worst if we don't do something about it."Akito murmured.
