-Chapter One Hundred and Eighty-Three-
"It's risky, but it's do or die" Sanji huffed, jumping across a set of rocks that jutted out of the water—attempting to use them as a shortcut in hopes of catching up with Foxy's team.
"Looks like Sanji is taking a huge gamble" Itomimizu remarked.
"Oh no you don't!" Jacob growled, swinging one of his chains around and taking aim at the blond in hopes of knocking him down into the water below.
"It seems Jacob goes in for the kill!" Itomimizu exclaimed as Jacob threw the chains...only to instantly be taken aback when the blond suddenly grabbed hold of both chains and roughly yanked the raven-haired man forward—tossing him right over his shoulder and into the water.
"Close one..." Sanji shook his head as he continued on his way, one of the rocks underneath him starting to crumble beneath his weight.
"It seems that Sanji's big gamble has paid off! Now he's right behind the leading group and closing in fast while Jacob's been left to soak in the water!" Itomimizu announced. I chuckled as I watched Jacob emerge from the water, spitting out a stream of it before lowly grumbling to himself as he quickly swam back toward the shore.
"That's not fair! Hamburg, hurry—he's gaining on us!" Porche huffed.
"What? What do you want?" Nami scowled when she saw that Capote was now standing in her, Usopp, and Chopper's way—preventing either one of them from advancing forward.
"In my opinion, it never hurts to reduce the number of opponents you have" Capote grinned. "Time for the three of you to kick the bucket!" he sneered.
"Oh crap!" Usopp fearfully cried.
"Nami! Usopp! What do we do?!" Chopper panicked as he tried hiding—and failing—behind Usopp.
"We have no choice..." Nami muttered. "Everybody, run for it!" she ordered.
"Hey! You can't escape from me!" Capote frowned, quickly chasing after the three the second they turned tail and ran from him. "Come here, now!" he irritably growled.
"Man, the old stilts guy's green is even longer than it was last time" Luffy remarked, catching mine and Robin's attention
"He's right, he should have started his red light right about now" I frowned. "Oh..." I perked up the second I heard the sound of snoring.
"He's sleeping?!" everyone gawked.
"Hey, wake up!" someone in the crowd angrily shouted.
"Wake up!"
"Don't be sleeping!"
"Green light! Red light! Stop!" Tonjit shouted as he jolted awake, causing everyone to come to a screeching halt.
"Dammit!" Capote cursed, having just jumped into the air when the old man had finally decided to wake up and call out a red light.
"You're out" Tonjit frowned as the Fishman dropped to the ground and harshly hit his head, knocking himself out in the process.
"Taken by surprise that the Stoplight was napping—Capote was caught off guard, unable to stop, and is out!" Itomimizu recapped.
"What kind of weirdo falls asleep standing up leaning against a rock like that?!" Foxy snapped.
"Oh, I can think of someone..." I mumbled as my gaze focused on Zoro who was still attempting to find the right path.
"That old stilts guy sure is something!" Luffy happily laughed.
"What the heck?" Porche frowned. "I thought this would be an easy win, now I'm starting to get worried" she nervously admitted as another teammate of hers was knocked out of the race.
"Now the four front runners are all within one hundred meters of the Stoplight—it's going to be a mad dash to the finish!" Itomimizu announced. "One of these four will most likely be our winner—which one will it be?" he curiously asked, pondering which of the four will make it to Tonjit first.
"Alright, Sanji! You can do it!" Luffy cheered.
"Nobody's paying attention to us..." Chopper sadly pointed out.
"Yeah, completely ignored" Usopp deadpanned.
"This definitely feels a bit useless, doesn't it?" Nami sighed as the wind blew by. "Well, at least we can take comfort knowing that we're not the only useless ones here" she remarked, gaze drifting toward Zoro who was still struggling to find the right path.
"The path ended again!" Zoro growled as he came upon another dead end.
"How the hell can you get lost on a straight path twice?" I sweat dropped. "Is your sense of direction really that bad?" I asked.
"I'm doing my best here, alright!" he irritably snapped.
"Are you really though?" I asked, giggling at the way he grumbled and angrily waved me away.
"It's cold—I want to get this over with so I can go eat something warm" Tonjit huffed as he turned away to start on another green light. Immediately, Chiqicheetah shot up the course with the others soon following close behind.
"Out of my way!" Sanji growled as ran up beside Hamburg.
"Alright, Hamburg—let him have it!" Porche ordered as the primate suddenly pulled out a club.
"This time you're mine!" Hamburg proclaimed as he began to wildly swing that club of his toward the blond who dodged each attack with utter ease.
"So you want a piece of me, gorilla man?" Sanji questioned.
"You're mincemeat!" Hamburg laughed, pulling out another club and charging the chef.
"Hamburg and Sanji are now going head to head! Meanwhile, Chiqicheetah is racing toward the Stoplight!" Itomimizu commentated. "So by keeping him occupied, it seems that Sanji has fallen right into Porche's trap!" he exclaimed.
"Oh no!" Sanji grounded once he saw just how close the cheetah was to reaching Tonjit.
"Victory is ours!" Porche laughed.
"Dammit!" Sanji cursed as he continued to dodge the swinging clubs that were still coming his way.
"This isn't good..." I muttered, nervously biting my lower lip.
"Chiqicheetah is just a few leaps away from touching the Stoplight!" Itomimizu announced and just as the cheetah lunged towards the old man...he suddenly turned his head and sneezed.
"You're out" he sniffed as the cheetah cried out in disgust—reeling back as he quickly began to wipe his own face clean of the snot that now covered it.
"What? He was sneezing? Tonjit hadn't even started calling out red light, green light yet!" Itomimizu realized. "He was just starting to sneeze—all of that running speed was all for nothing, Chiqicheetah had a full start and is now out!" he gaped.
"Dammit! Don't sneeze in the middle of the game, Stoplight!" Foxy angrily snapped.
"I can't believe it! We were so close to winning too!" someone in the crowd whined.
"That crazy old stilts guy, even his snot is long!" Luffy laughed.
"Well, despite how disgusting it may be, that was quite the lucky break for them" I giggled, pleased to know that the game wasn't over just yet and that the others still had a chance to win.
"He was sneezing!" Hamburg laughed.
"Get a hold of yourself, Hamburg! This is no laughing matter—we just got to win this game so we can get my little Choppy back!" Porche scolded.
"Both teams are closing in on the Stoplight and with only a short distance to go, the next play should determine the outcome of the game!" Itomimizu announced. "But which player will it be? The duo Porche and Hamburg or Sanji? We'll find out soon—the moment of truth is about to begin!" he excitedly grinned.
"Green" Tonjit finally called, holding the word out once again just like before as the game finally resumed.
"The Stoplight is defiantly calling out his line this time, this is it" Itomimizu said as the three now rushed toward the old man. During this mad dash toward him, Hamburg continued to wildly swing his clubs at the blond who, in return, continued to dodge them with ease.
"Pardon me" Sanji said as he finally just hopped up onto the monkey's face to give himself a boost.
"Hamburg, come on—what are you doing?!" Porche scowled as the primate started to stumble around in a daze, tightly clinging to his back to avoid being thrown off.
"Robin and Skylar's personal savior has come to save the day!" Sanji grinned as he raced up the path and toward the old man.
"Sanji!" Luffy cheered.
"No way!" someone in the crowd gaped.
"What happened to Porche?" another worriedly asked as Hamburg finally lost his balance with Porche still tightly clinging onto his back.
"And now that I brought Robin and Skylar back to our crew, they'll definitely fall in love with me!" Sanji cooed as I sweat dropped...
I had to wonder if the blond was aware he would only be winning one of us back since the agreement between Luffy and Foxy last round had only lasted that single round or if he and the others were just that confident they'd be able to win the next round as well no matter what dirty tricks the opposing team sent their way.
