-Chapter One Hundred and Ninety-Seven-

"Do you have anything in mind, Swordswoman?" Robin curiously asked as I hummed in thought.

"I'm kind of leaning toward Sanji's assumption from earlier that that kid had something to do with it along with the odd-sounding horn" I admitted, unable to shake what the men had said earlier. Surely there had to be a connection between them all being asleep, hearing that strange horn, and dreaming about the kid—I had heard the horn last night as well, yet still had my memory which implies that there had to be more to it.

"It sounds hard to believe—how would a child be able to pull something like that off?" Robin asked.

"That's just it, I don't know..." I huffed, shoulders slumping as I furrowed my brow. We had three separate pieces of information, but no way of really knowing if they actually fit together or not—all we had were assumptions and that wasn't much help to any of us. For all we know, one or none of what we knew at the moment had anything to do with everyone's sudden memory loss...but it sounded ridiculous to think that. Surely the fact that everyone who had lost their memory recalled going to bed, hearing a horn in their sleep, and dreaming about a child means that the kid and that strange horn had to be responsible in some way for what's happening.

"Right! Finally done!" Usopp suddenly exclaimed, catching everyone's attention. "This is my greatest invention yet" he proudly grinned.

"Then I'm sure it's amazing..." Sanji sarcastically muttered, rolling his eyes.

"Come on now, be nice..." I murmured.

"Yep, you called it, my friend—behold!" Usopp boasted, ignoring the blonde's sarcasm as he proudly showed off a bunch of painted board signs. "Thanks to me, it doesn't even matter if we lose our memories! I call them Identity Boards!" he grinned as we looked down at the makeshift nametag necklaces—each one designed differently from the last.

"Great idea" Robin praised.

"Oh! They look rather lovely!" I complimented as I picked up my own board, fingers running around its smooth edges as I admired its design—impressed with the sharpshooter craftmanship.

"A question mark? That's rude!" Luffy frowned when he saw that his nametag was in the design of a question mark.

"I am not an emergency food source!" Chopper snapped, displeased with what was written on his nametag.

"What's with the hearts on mine?" Sanji irritably asked, causing me to giggle—even if the blond didn't agree with them, they worked quite well with his design considering how much of a flirt he is.

"Yep, now we'll always know who we are—cool, huh" Usopp smiled before flinching when he was suddenly hit over the head as the necklaces he made were angrily tossed overboard, causing my smile to dimmish and be replaced with a frown

"Don't waste your time on stupid stuff!" Sanji snapped before flinching when I suddenly smacked the back of his head.

"How about you learn some manners—it's rude to destroy someone else's hard work!" I scolded.

-That Night-

"Is something a matter?" Robin asked as I suddenly shot up from my seat—the others had long since retired for the night, leaving just the two of us awake as we offered to keep an eye out just in case that mysterious kid the others described happened to come back around.

"No...I'm just worried is all..." I softly murmured, nervously fidgeting as I began to pace the longer I let my mind wander—unable to sit still any longer. "Look, I know it would be best to wait, but...I really think I should go and see if Zoro's alright" I frowned. "Him being out there alone with that awful sense of direction of his is putting me on edge—I'm afraid he might leave the island if he gets too restless...do you think I could go look for him?" I hesitantly asked despite already knowing the answer.

"It would be safer to wait until we have everything figured out" Robin said.

"I know..." I muttered, shoulders deflating as I sunk back down into my chair.

"But if you insist, I guess it wouldn't hurt to let you go ahead come morning" she suddenly suggested, causing me to perk up a little. "I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you after your two's recent confession" she said, causing me to blush a little.

"You would assume right..." I nodded as a peaceful silence now washed over the two of us—there wasn't much else to talk about as we both settled into our respective seats and patiently waited for the night to go by. Leaning back in my chair, I tilted my head back and quietly started to think...well, that wasn't entirely true as I found myself more or less daydreaming about where Nami and Zoro were at the moment. Knowing Nami, she probably found herself an inn to stay at for the night while Zoro...no doubt that dummy was sleeping out in the open due to his lack of funds...

Catching movement in the corner of my eye, I flickered my gaze back over to Robin as she suddenly stood and grabbed a nearby blanket—ready to drape it over Sanji the second she noticed that he was starting to shiver.

"Oh man..." the blond grunted as he suddenly woke up, halting the woman in her tracks.

"I'm sorry, did I wake you?" she apologized.

"No" Sanji shook his head, quick to assure her that it wasn't her fault he had suddenly woke up.

"Go on back to sleep if you want, we'll wake you up when we notice anything strange" Robin told him.

"I'm okay, but thanks you two for keeping a lookout" Sanji gently smiled as he stood up. "How about I brew some coffee to help keep us up?" he offered.

"That sounds great, I could sure use some" Robin smiled.

"Sure, I guess I wouldn't mind some..." I nodded, coffee wasn't my favorite but it was something I could handle drinking every now and again.

"Well, he didn't waste any damn time, did he? And right after he said he wouldn't fall asleep..." Sanji grumbled, peering down at a snoring Luffy as Robin draped the blanket in her hands over the captain instead.

"Just as loud as Sora" I giggled before quickly turning my head the second I heard the familiar sound of that strange horn.

"What are you three doing up? Everyone here is supposed to be asleep!" a young boy scowled from the top of the figurehead as the three of us who were awake ran out onto the deck of the ship.

"You're the thief that stole everyone's memories" Robin said as my hands automatically found their way to the handles of my swords. Though I didn't feel comfortable with the thought of drawing my blades on a child, there was no telling what this particular kid was capable of outside of stealing memories.

"I'm surprised you realized" the boy said, removing his hood. "Not that you can do anything about it!" he grinned.

"Come on, wake up!" Robin turned around, using her Devil Fruit ability to quickly wake the others.

"Aw, you got mystical abilities!" the boy whined, upset to learn that the woman had Devil Fruit powers.

"He's back!" Usopp fearfully cried the second he spotted the child.

"Is it already breakfast time?" Luffy sleepily asked.

"That wasn't very nice" the boy frowned. "You should have just let them sleep—I really didn't want to have to do this, but you've given me really no other choice" he grinned as he suddenly blew into the seahorse that he was carrying around.

"Wha..." I winced as my head began to painfully throb to the point that I was forced to let go of the hilt of my sword and cover my ears in a desperate attempt to block the noise out. I wasn't the only one in pain as the others were quick to do the same, all of them grabbing their heads and covering their ears in the same manner that I had.

"What do you think you're doing up there? Who said you could sit there?!" Luffy frowned, seemingly unaffected by the horn.

"Luffy?" I questioned, shocked by the almost hateful look in his eyes as he angrily glared up at the child.

"It's mine! I claimed it earlier today—don't you dare sit there!" Luffy childishly snapped as he stretched his arms toward the young boy who hastily kicked his hand off of the ram's head when he saw him rocketing toward him. This simple act seemed to take the rubber man by surprise as his head painfully smashed against the neck of the figurehead. Although this didn't bother our captain too much seeing how he quickly recovered, bringing his foot up and hitting it against the seahorse in the child's hand as he climbed up onto the ram's head himself and sat down.

"Sorry I took your seat!" the child fearfully cried, trembling as he gawked up at the raven-haired man as if he hadn't expected him to get so angry like that over a seat.

"What the heck is this stuff?" Luffy curiously asked as a cloud of blue smoke suddenly shot out of the seahorse and engulfed him. Distracted by the strange phenomenon happening before us, none of us really noticed nor moved to stop the child as he jumped ship and hastily swam away.

"What's happening to him?" Usopp nervously asked.

"Hey, shouldn't we do something for him?" Sanji questioned.

"He's not moving" Robin remarked as Luffy suddenly went still.

"Is he alright?" I worriedly frowned.

"H-he's still alive, isn't he?" Usopp shakily asked.

"Doctor! Doctor!" Chopper panicked. "Oh right, that's me!" he realized as he remembered that he was the only doctor currently aboard the ship.

"I got all my memories back!" Luffy suddenly cheered, instantly shooting back up onto his feet as he brightly smiled.

"Wait...what's that?" Usopp blinked after the rubber man relayed to us all the things he remembered to assure both Robin and me that he truly did get all his memories back and that he wasn't lying. "You're the captain?" he frowned in disbelief.

"Aw, man! That was a lucky break—if I hadn't gotten my memory back I would have been stuck "aye aying" Captain Usopp forever" Luffy sighed in relief, happy to know that he wouldn't be stuck following under someone else's orders for the rest of his life.

"Shut your mouth! I'm never going to believe it—no matter what anyone says!" Usopp angrily snapped. "I know that I'm the great Captain Usopp, I have an army of eight thousand pirates who obey my every command!" he sneered.

"Sure you do, buddy" I said, patting his back.

"That's the Usopp I know through and through!" Luffy laughed, not at all bothered by the sharpshooter's hateful tone. "But you're not the captain, you're Usopp the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates" he grinned before looking toward the reindeer who was currently freaking out. "Hey, Chopper" he greeted.

"Keep away!" the reindeer fearfully cried as he hastily hid behind the mast.

"Aw, come on, how long are you going to act like that?" Luffy pouted. "Let's play like we always do" he brightened.

"So I'm the ship's doctor and this is something that I always do?" Chopper questioned as two chopsticks were wedged between his nose and mouth.

"Yeah!" Luffy excitedly nodded. "You do it every time we have a party, it's like your thing" he explained as he started to happily dance around with the reindeer.

"That rubber monkey says he got his memories back, yet he's acting just as much as an idiot as before" Sanji remarked.

"That's right, the captain never ever changes" Robin nodded.

"No matter what happens to him" I grinned. "Which is a good thing in my book" I laughed, crossing my arms behind my back with a bright smile.

"Now it's clear what happened—everyone didn't miraculously lose their memories overnight, they were stolen" Robin said.

"And so, the obvious culprit is…" I said, motioning for everyone to continue so I knew we were all on the same page.

"The only person that we all can remember, that brat!" Sanji irritably growled.

"What would that freaky kid want with our memories anyway?" Usopp frowned.

"Beats me" Robin shrugged.

"It is a little unnerving—why would a child need other people's memories? It doesn't make much sense" I frowned, confused as I tried to think over the many reasons why a child of all people would want someone else's memories. What exactly did he gain by taking them outside of causing others massive inconvenience? Surely he wasn't doing it just because he found it funny.

"Wait a sec" Luffy suddenly piped up as if he had just remembered something. "We have to get Nami and Zoro back—come on, let's go!" he ordered.

"You're right, but we should wait until morning" Robin suggested, quick to stop him before he could jump off the ship.
