-Chapter Two Hundred and Eleven-
"In order for Luffy and Robin to get some rest and recover, the Going Merry remained anchored off the uninhabited island for four days" Nami read, recounting to me what she had written down in the Log Book. "After that, we set sail—today marks the third morning since we resumed our voyage. The weather is clear and sunny, mostly spring with occasional bouts of summer" she finished, closing the book as she looked to me.
"Sounds good" I nodded, mindlessly straightening out my bra strap the minute I noticed it had fallen out of place much to my annoyance. Nami had chosen my outfit for today—scolding me for the supposed "sloppy" attire I had thrown together this morning as she tossed a loose black and white striped tank top and dark blue jean shorts at me while snapping at me to change into those instead before grumbling about my suppose awful fashion sense. Not only that but the flip-flops and bracelets I currently wore were hers. Though I had refused to wear them at first, not comfortable with wearing her stuff...she only shoved them right back at me the second I tried handing them to her, insistently claiming that they pulled the look together.
"It's beautiful" Nami smiled, stretching her arms upwards as I only hummed in agreement.
"Nami, look!" Sanji suddenly shouted as he came rushing over to Nami with a dish whose name I didn't quite catch nor didn't even really know how to pronounce.
"Delicious!" Nami praised the second she took a bite. "Here, Skylar—try a bite" I chuckled as a forkful of food was suddenly shoved in my face before taking a bite.
"It's great" I nodded after swallowing.
"That makes me so happy!" Sanji swooned, happy with the praise.
"Hey—keep it down, jerk! Some people are trying to sleep here!" Zoro snapped, suddenly jolting awake from his nap.
"Sorry about that, Cactus Head—my most sincere apology" Sanji sarcastically apologized.
"Cactus head?" I snorted, amused by the blonde's new insulting nickname before I suddenly found myself thinking.
"What, you cigarette snorkeling dartboard?!" Zoro sneered.
"Huh? What did you call me?" Sanji glared.
"Dartboard—dartboard eyebrows" Zoro grinned as he returned the blonde's jab with one of his own.
"Three...two...one..." I playfully counted down as the blond finally processed what exactly the swordsman had said.
"What?!" Sanji snapped as I nodded to myself, watching as they began to fight like usual. Smiling, I turned away from their bickering and curiously looked over to Usopp and Chopper who were excitedly chanting our captain's name.
"Hey!" Luffy laughed as rushed out onto the deck, causing the two that were chanting to loudly cheer in excitement at his arrival.
"We've been waiting for this!" Usopp whistled.
"Luffy!" Chopper excitedly cheered.
"This is me frozen" Luffy grinned, busting a bag of flour open over his head while striking the exact same pose he had been frozen in after his fight with Aokiji. I grinned as he smashed into one of the walls before hopping around, causing Usopp, Chopper, and I to double over laughing.
"Aargh!" Nami groaned in annoyance. "I can't believe that this is how he behaves after almost freezing to death!"
"Well, I mean, everyone handles things in their own way" I chuckled, shrugging as she rolled her eyes.
"Yes, but his way of handling things is sometimes annoying..." she irritably grumbled.
"What do you think?" Luffy eagerly asked.
"You nailed it! That's exactly what you looked like!" Usopp laughed.
"Make sure you clean all that up, Luffy" Nami called down to him.
"Okay" Luffy nodded before perking up as he spotted the plate in Nami's hands. "Hey, Nami, is that food? What are you eating?" he eagerly asked, smiling when the woman answered him. "Potatoes, huh? I love potatoes! Sanji, make me some!" he childishly demanded as he stretched himself up to where Nami and I stood.
"Got to make up for all that food you missed out on eating while resting, huh?" I chuckled, poking the captain's side as he giggled with a wide grin.
"Just how many hours a day do you have to lie around and sleep anyway?" Sanji irritably asked, ignoring the captain as he continued to bicker with Zoro.
"That's none of your business! I'll sleep as long as I like—want to fight about it?!" the swordsman growled.
"Okay, enough you two" Nami quickly stepped in before another fight could break out between the two.
"Yeah, Sanji—I don't need you upsetting my Chia Pet, it's not good for his health" I playfully chastised. It grew silent for but a moment before the others eventually burst out into a fit of laughter, tears now pricking the corners of their eyes as they either held their stomachs or covered their mouths in a pitiful attempt to muffle their own laughs.
"C-Chia Pet?!" Zoro sputtered in embarrassment as his face erupted with color.
"Yeah, my new nickname for you I just thought up!" I grinned as I happily clapped my hands together. "Chia plants are usually green and you do tend to act like quite the animal sometimes" I reasoned, finding the nickname very fitting for someone with hair like his who sleeps around all day and picks fights like an unruly guard dog.
"What do you mean my new—"
"Your new nickname!"
"But I never—"
"New nickname!"
"Aargh! Fine..." he reluctantly groaned when he realized that I wasn't really going to let him argue before turning away in embarrassment as the others finally started to calm down from their laughing fit.
"Anyways, Sanji," Nami sighed as she wiped away the imaginary tears that had gathered in her eyes, "our captain has requested some of your potato pie."
"Got it, Nami!" Sanji cooed, quick to agree to make the captain some food since Nami was the one asking him.
"Sanji, potatoes!" Luffy demanded.
"You're still recuperating, but that hasn't slowed down your appetite the slightest, has it?" Sanji grumbled, his attitude doing a complete one-eighty the second he heard the captain speak as he went off to get started on basically making lunch for the rest of us.
"So this is pie, huh? Good stuff" Luffy praised through a mouthful of food.
"Hm" I hummed in agreement, taking a bite from my own plate as I leaned back against Zoro from my spot seated between his legs.
"Why is it called that?" Chopper innocently asked.
"Because the meat is taken from the tail of a giant beast pie" Usopp lied. "I should know, I was the one who killed it—it was over a hundred meters long!" he boasted as I sweat dropped.
"Whoa! A hundred meters?!" Chopper gaped. "That's amazing, Usopp!" he sparkled in amazement as he peered up at the sharpshooter in awe.
"And I did it all before breakfast" Usopp grinned.
"Wait...you woke up early to kill it?" Chopper questioned, his wonderment already starting to fade as he began to see through the pirate's lie.
"Busted" I chirped.
"Chopper, have you forgotten who I am?" Usopp asked, continuing with his lie as he simply waved me off as I childishly stuck my tongue out at him.
"I get it, you're Captain—"
"Yes, that's right! I'm the great and almighty Captain Usopp!" Usopp interrupted before halting in his lie as a door swung open and Robin walked out onto the deck.
"Robin!" Nami brightened upon seeing the older woman now awake.
"Hey, glad to see you're up and alright" I smiled as I waved.
"Robin, good to see you!" Sanji cooed.
"Robin, are you feeling okay? Do you still have a slight chill?" Chopper worriedly asked, quick to start fretting over the older woman now that she was up.
"Your treatment helped me out tremendously—thanks, you're a wonderful doctor" Robin praised, quick to assure him she was fine.
"Calling me a wonderful doctor won't make me happy or anything, stupid jerk!" Chopper giddily laughed.
"He sure looks happy" Usopp deadpanned.
"Yep" Luffy and I nodded.
"You should take it easy, Robin" Nami said, still concerned for the older woman's health after everything that's happened. "Luffy's already recovered enough to where he's running around and screaming like an imbecile, but you can just relax and take your time" she assured her with a smile, letting her know that she could take her time with her recovery.
"Yeah!" Luffy greed.
"That wasn't a compliment!" Nami snapped.
"I don't think he cares" I snorted.
"Hey, Robin, would you like me to make you something to help warm you up?" Sanji offered. "Do you have an appetite?"
"I do—may I have some coffee, please?" Robin politely asked.
"Of course! It's my pleasure" Sanji smiled, disappearing into the kitchen as everyone else returned to what they had been doing before. Smiling, I closed my eyes as I leaned back against Zoro who in return tightly wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me in close.
"You know, I don't really that new nickname you suddenly forced onto me..." he suddenly murmured in my ear, causing me to tense as my eyes snapped back open the second I heard his mischievous tone as if he was planning something.
"O-oh? Is that so?" I weakly chuckled, nervously sweating as I hastily avoided eye contact before whimpering the second I felt him bite down on the spot between my neck and shoulder—roughly sucking on the skin before pulling away with a proud and almost cocky grin. "Oh, come on—the one you gave me last time had just finally gone away!" I whined, shaking my head as I wiped away the drool he left before.
"Good, you needed a new one then anyway" he hummed as he buried his face into the crook of my neck and lightly began to peck away at the new hickey he had left.
"You're mean sometimes, you know that?" I pouted, crossing my arms.
"I know" he grinned before lifting his head the second we suddenly heard movement in the water not that far from the ship. "What the heck is that?" he frowned, squinting his eyes as he looked out at the sea in an attempt to find what exactly was making that noise we had heard.
"Kind of looks like…I don't really know" I admitted, not even attempting to guess as the strange object we suddenly spotted in the distance grew closer until it finally revealed itself. "Oh, it's a frog..." I murmured the second I spotted the large amphibian.
