I woke up to the sound of knocking on the door. I groaned as I saw my clock read 7:55 PM. I got up and covered myself with my robe.
" Yes?" I asked as I didn't open the door.
" It's me." Michael's voice was there. I sighed and opened the door.
" Yes, dear brother. How can I assist you?" I asked as I opened the door.
" Have you been feeling different?" He asked as I shrugged.
" Like unlike myself? Nah." I said as I didn't know if he knew yet, but he smelt of the same smell I was emitting after sleeping with David, the raw scent of sweat and sex lingered on him, barf!
" Now, if you will excuse me, I'm seeing David." I said as Michael grabbed my exposed wrist. I looked at him with annoyance.
" Just be careful." He said as I groaned.
" When the fuck am I not? And now you seem to fucking care? Little golden boy thinks he can be the big brother?" I said as I pulled my wrist away. He looked surprised at my action as he backed away.
" I am capable of caring for myself, not as if you needed to keep an eye on me anyways!" I said before walking up to him and pushing him so I could shut the door. I don't like how Michael's attempting to be the big brother all of a sudden with this aloof attitude. I rolled my eyes and proceeded to do my makeup. Kind of hard to do as my reflection kept going out, but I managed. I painted my lips a cherry red and black tone. I put on a black tube top and some ripped red jeans, I quickly grabbed my flannel and wrapped it around my waist. I pulled my knee-high black boots on with zero hesitation. I walked down the stairs. I saw Sam watching me. I gave a small smirk before going downstairs.
" Scarlet? You home?" Mom's voice hit my ears.
" Yeah, I'm here." I said as she came into my view. I could hear her heart beating. I focused on it. I didn't want to, but fuck, it was loud!
" I haven't seen you all day." She said as I saw she had an apron on.
" You know me, sleep all day." I replied as I laid back. Her pulse echoed in my ears.
" I can't wait for you to go to school." She said as she looked me up and down.
" Mom, if I'm being honest, I'm not cut out for school." I said as she looked at me.
" What do you mean?" She asked as the ache was slowly coming.
" I never really felt like my talents weren't good for the school life. I feel like I need to branch out. I never was the one for being locked in a cage. I'm a free spirit, Mom." I said as I was for once being honest with her. She looked at me with deep concern. Her gaze fell to my singular earring that was displayed on my ear. She got it for me after my ears got pierced. She took a breath before giving me an answer.
" Maybe we can talk about it." She said before pulling me into a hug. I hugged her back. I felt the pain in my gums starting up again. I pulled away slowly as I smiled at her.
" Are you staying for dinner?" She asked as I shook my head.
" I've got dinner plans with a friend." I say as I feel the flush on my cheeks. She smiled at me.
" Don't stay out too late. Make smart choices." She said as I gagged.
" Jesus Mom!" I said as I heard her laugh. I heard Michael coming down the stairs. I headed out the door and towards my bike. I saw this well-dressed man coming towards me.
" How are you doing? You must be Scarlet, right?" He asked a bit on the shy side. I stood as tall as I could with my simple height.
" Yes, I'm Scarlet." I say with a smirk.
" I'm Max. How are you?" He asked as I relaxed, this is Mom's boss.
" Better now, but sadly I have plans with my erm….friend. So, I won't be here for dinner." I said as he smiled at me.
" Well, young lady. You have a good night. Stay safe." He said as I got on my bike.
" Thank you." I say as he moves out of the way and I start my bike up.
" Don't hurt my mom. My dad broke her heart." I said as if trying to give a decent goodbye. I rode off quickly as I saw Max walking up to the house. I was possibly coming to terms that it might be better for me to become like David. I wasn't made for the cushy life. I was one to love the night, cause mischief, and so much more. I could have people accept me for who I was for once. I finally made it to the boardwalk.
" Scarlet!" David's voice echoed in my ears as I parked my bike. I felt arms wrap around me. I turned and saw the sexy smirk on his face.
" How are you doing?" He asked as I just leaned into his chest.
" Mmm, I feel fantastic." I said as he let out what sounded to be a purr. I hear hollering as I see Dwayne, Paul, and Marko.
" How's our favorite sister!" Marko yelled as I pulled him in for a side hug. I smiled at them.
" Better than I was. Jesus, my brother's a fucking drag. Golden boy ain't cut for this!" I yelled out as they laughed.
" So, have you made a decision?" David asked as we walked. The boys watched me as if what I said next counted for their group.
" I have, and I think I might. Nothing has ever worked out for me. I've been a free spirit locked in a cage because of Golden Boy taking all of my mom's attention. I'm kind of left behind and it never really feels good." I said as he smirked at me. I chuckled before jumping on his back. I felt satiated with my choice for once. No one else could make it for me.
" Boy, it looks like my Lost Girl is ready." He said as I chuckled.
" I want to do it tomorrow night. It's a full moon. It'll let me say goodbye to my old life." I said as he smirked.
" Sounds good my little Elvira." He said as I felt hot in the face. The boys sounded happy about my choice.
" Hot damn." I mumbled to myself, how does he know that reference? I'll never know. We partied for a bit before I saw Michael coming a little hot-headed.
" Oh boy, the fun police are here." I said as I stood next to David. Michael grabbed him pretty harshly.
" Where is she?" He demanded. God, it was like he was possessed.
" Take it easy, Michael." David said with a smirk. Oh boy!
" Where's Star, David?" Michael asked him again. David looked at me as I shrugged.
" I might know where she is. You have to come with me." He replied. Michael looked confused as David took my hand and led me back to my bike. The boys hollering as they got to their bikes. The engines roared to life as they rode off. I looked back at Michael before riding off myself. I followed the group quickly. The wind in my hair, the night sky shining down on me, the star-filled night making my resolve more of a reality. We found ourselves off this very far beach. A bonfire loud and roaring with surfers. Their hearts were loud in my ears.
" Michael, Scarlet, over here. You don't want to miss this." David said as I already was going towards the dead tree. I climbed up next to David. All the heartbeats were loud and clear in my ears.
" Initiation's over. Time to join the club." David said as I saw him change. He looked very distinguished. I looked at the rest of them. All vamped out and looked very happy with themselves. I watched in awe as they tore apart the no-good surfers that tried to hit on me. David had told me before how they were bad news. I felt the ache grow more and more as the pain in my jaw grew sharp.
" What the hell!" Michael screamed as he held me tight.
" Let me go! Let me go!" I screamed. Michael refused and held tight as he pulled me with him off the tree. I tumbled down the sand hill before pushing Michael off of me.
" The Hell Is Wrong With You!" I steamed as I pushed him away. He got in my face.
" What's wrong with me!?" He yelled as I saw the Boys come up and their mouths and throats were coated in surfer blood.
" Now you know what you are. You'll never grow old. And you'll never die. But you must feed." David told him as blood dripped from his fangs. Michael ran to his bike and rode off. Pussy! I turned back to David, who was up close.
" So, my temptress? Are you content with the life you are about to live?" He asked as he lifted my chin. I smirked a devilish yet content grin.
" You have no idea. Fuck the sun and fuck being mortal, I'm dying to start living." I said as the Boys cheered.
" I'm going to make your last night as a human, the greatest of your life." David said as he planted a bloodied kiss on my lips. I smirked into it as the rest of them cheered.
" The night is young. I'm getting started." I said as the group cheered. We walked down to the water as the guys said they were headed back to the cave. I took off my clothes and placed them on my bike. I walked to the beach where I passed all the dead and charring bodies. I didn't care, I saw David had lost all of his clothing. I smirk as I pass him, the smirk on my face as I see him looking me up and down.
" How cold's the water?" I asked as David walked up to me.
" To me, not so bad. You, however." He says as I feel his hands trailing down my sides. My spine shivered at the contact. This felt different, the ache was nonexistent.
" Might have another opinion." He whispered into my ear as he kissed my temple. I felt my face go extremely hot as he took my hand and led me to the icy water. We swam about for a few minutes before I felt David behind me.
" I will make this memorable. Soon, I'll be able to feel you within my mind." He said as his mullet was damp. I smiled and kissed him. His arms wrapped around me and I felt him taking me to where the water met the sand. His hard body flushed with mine as he laid me down. I was insanely turned on as he began to place ghosting kisses on my neck and my shivering body. The sand was wet beneath me. His hands trailed my body. He began to kiss down my body before spreading my legs and began to lap up my core. I moan and cried out as the pain in my jaw was starting to come up.

" Gods! Fuck!" I moaned out as David guided me quicker. I felt the coil get so tight that when I finally crossed the threshold, I gripped tightly onto his shoulders.
" Fuck! You are tight!" He groaned as I felt him grip tight before he refused to let go. I held him tight as I rode out my high. The leadup was everything. David held me to him. I felt his tongue licking up every last drop of blood. He pulled away, I saw two puncture marks on his neck.
" That was something else." I said as he laid me down on the shore. Water flushes my legs as I see him lay down beside me. I stared into the night sky.
" I'm glad I could pleasure you, my dear." He says as I smirked.
" We better wash off and head back to the cave. Fuck going home." I said with a grin. David smirks at me and picks me up. He begins to put me in the water to wash off most of the sand. We walked back to our bikes and put our clothes back on. Who cares if part of my clothes get wet? I get on my bike as David gets on his. We ride back to the cave. David carefully leads me into the cave as I can hardly feel my legs.
" Hey, they are back!" Marko called out. Dwayne and Paul came out of hiding. I looked about the cave and smiled as the numbing pleasure still rode deep within me.
" Where am I sleeping?" I asked as David led me to a bed with a canopy. He lays me down with a bright smile.
" Tomorrow, you will complete your transition." He said as I smiled tiredly.
" Sun's peaking, David." Marko called out as David looked at me worried for a moment. He pulls his sleeve to reveal his wrist. I watched as he bit into it and showed it to me.
" To keep you going for a bit longer. Long enough for you to have your first kill." He told me as I took his wrist and took maybe four gulps down. His blood was as sweet as chocolate and raspberries. I licked it and watched as the wound shut. I watched through blurred vision as they went towards the back. I fell asleep with the cooling feeling surrounding me.
I felt the night sky pulling me as David flew next to me.
' This is amazing!' I screamed as I saw Dwayne, Paul, and Marko flying close. The sky was dark with night till I saw streaks of red and yellow come out. I saw behind me Dwayne and Marko falling in a flaming burst. Paul screams out in agony as David begins to fall towards the ocean. The pain of my skin is on fire! Everything hurts! I felt this pain in my gut!
I woke up to hear screaming! I got up, the tired feeling returning harshly. I got out of bed to see Sam running with a boy. I turned to them as they saw me.
" What the hell is going…" I screamed before I turned around. Then the blinding pain began, and I screamed in agony. I see a boy with a bandana on his head. I looked down to see what looked to be a stake in my lower gut.
" Die vampire slut." He growled as he pushed it deeper. I cried out as I fell back. He glared at me as I saw Sam scream at him.
" That's my sister Edgar! Why did you stab her!" He yelled before grabbing Edgar and running off. I groaned as I pulled it out. I began to bleed. I pressed my hand on my wound. I groaned as I got up and trudged towards the back.
" David." I called out in pain.
" Scarlet!" David's voice was full of worry as I crawled back. I didn't know if I was healing. I saw him in the shadows. I crawled to him and fell into his lap.
" Fuck! I'm going to kill them." He growled out. I grabbed his hand.
" Don't. Please don't." I gritted between my teeth.
" Anyone hurt?" I asked with worry. He shook his head.
" They almost got Marko. But they missed. That isn't the point, we gotta do this sooner rather than later." David said as I felt weak. I watched as he bit into his wrist and quickly slammed it to my lips. I take a couple of gulps before he pulls away.
" You will heal, but you'll have to feed to be whole. You have no choice anymore." David said as the drowsiness was kicking in.
" Promise me you won't go after them." I asked as I looked at him with a tired stare. He growled before pulling me into his lap.
" I won't." He said as he gave me a soft look. I purred in his lap as I drifted off.
