-Chapter Two Hundred and Thirteen-

"She's totally drunk!" Usopp snapped.

"Geez, I wonder what gave that away" I deadpanned as we docked. Nami, Luffy, and Usopp were the only ones to step down onto the platform to speak with the older woman face-to-face while the rest of us stayed up on the ship.

"Oh! Pie, huh?" the woman drunkenly questioned with a grin upon being offered some leftover pie. "That stuff goes good with booze.".

"Mmh! Yummy!" the little girl beside her happily hummed. "My name is Chimney, this is our cat Gonbe" she soon introduced while holding up a blue rabbit.

"Adorable..." I breathed out, gaze softening as I gently smiled at the sight.

"And that's Granny Kokoro" she pointed, motioning toward the drunk beside her.

"You fellows wouldn't happen to be train robbers, would you?" Kokoro chuckled...it was hard to tell if she was being serious or not with that question. Her drunken state made it just a tad bit difficult to tell what exactly she was feeling at the moment as she still lay there upon the concrete ground.

"My name's Luffy and I'm going to be King of the Pirates" Luffy answered.

"Really?" Chimney asked, speaking around the mouthful of food in her mouth.

"Yep" Luffy nodded.

"I like you, you're funny!" Kokoro laughed, unperturbed by the fact that our captain had just confessed to us being pirates.

"By the way, Chimney—that thing's a steamboat, right?" Nami asked, motioning toward the direction that the train had disappeared. "Seems awfully long to me, can't imagine it getting very far" she softly frowned.

"You probably never seen anything like it, seeing as it's the only one in the world" Chimney said, shaking her head. "It's not a steamboat, it's a Sea Train, and it's called the Puffing Tom!" I owlishly blinked before racking my brain in search of any form of familiarity with the name.

"Oh..." I slowly nodded, as the memories started coming back to me. "So that's the Puffing Tom..." during times like this, I can't help but feel a bitter sort of thankfulness toward all that hard studying I was forced to do as a child. It sometimes helped to easily clarify things.

"How does it work?" Nami curiously asked, causing the child to immediately go straight into explaining the mechanism behind the train itself.

"Railway?" Usopp interrupted, cutting the child off in wonderment.

"If you look closely, you can see tracks right below the waves—the train goes the same route every day, taking people from one island to the next" Chimney explained. "It carries ships and packages and other stuff too" she added.

"Oh wow! Funny, we didn't notice it before" Luffy remarked the moment he spotted the tracks that gently swayed just beneath the water's surface.

"No kidding, we ran right into it" Sanji agreed. Bending over the side of the railing, I attempted to get a closer look at the railway...only to quickly shoot back up the moment I felt a hand suddenly rest against my bottom.

"Excuse me?" I blushed, one eyebrow raised in questioning as I looked at the swordsman beside me.

"My intentions are pure" was all he said, grinning as he gave my ass a gentle squeeze.

"Pure my ass..." I embarrassingly scoffed, lightly bumping him with my shoulder before turning my attention back toward the rest.

"You should be more careful—didn't you see the signal?" Chimney asked, softly scolding us for our recklessness. "There's a bell ringing for everything" she pointed out.

"Is that what that thing was for?" Usopp asked. "I thought it was just here to welcome us—how are we supposed to know?" he defended.

"And if we couldn't figure it out then that frog sure wouldn't get it, would it?" Luffy frowned. "It was awfully rude of you to hit him like that—we were going to catch him and cook him, you know!" he huffed.

"Either way, it still would have been in danger, so it didn't really matter if it got hit by the train or not in the end" I sweat dropped, silently feeling sorry for the poor frog.

"Oh, you saw that frog?" Chimney smiled. "That's Yokozuna."

"He sure was an awesome swimmer!" Luffy praised with a grin.

"Either way, I wouldn't worry about him, he's pretty tough" Chimney assured us. "In fact, that wasn't the first time he challenged the train and lost—he's really kind of a pain. If you want to see him again then just hang around here, I'm pretty sure he'll pop up" she told us.

"That's why he didn't run?" Luffy questioned. "Wow! I thought that frog was stupid, but it turns out he was just being super manly!" he suddenly laughed, quick to change his tune when it came to the giant frog.

"Easy for you to say! You don't have to put up with him all the time" Chimney frowned. "I can't even count how many times he's broken the rail guard—I can't even imagine what it's like for the passengers when he slams into the train" she irritably huffed.

"I'd say they're probably terrified when he does it" I remarked.

"That's pretty crazy!" Luffy exclaimed. "Okay, since that frog's a fighter like me, I'm not going to eat him after all!" he firmly stated.

"How...generous of you, captain..." I sweat dropped.

"Who would want to eat that gross thing in the first place?!" Nami angrily snapped.

"Anyways, after this, where are you folks headed off to?" Kokoro inquired. "The Sea Train runs all sorts of places" she remarked before she began rattling off the names of all the islands that the railway was connected to. "And if you happen to work for the government, you can take a special train that's even fancier than the Puffing Tom" she revealed, causing my muscles to tense just the slightest.

"A gourmet town...?" Usopp quietly questioned as he pondered over the name of one of the islands the old lady had listed off. "Oh! That's the place those people we met on that island were talking about!" he realized.

"Hey, you're right" Luffy agreed. "Good thing that's the place we're going to" he smiled before whining as Nami hit him.

"Give it up!" she snapped, not in the mood for his usual antics at the moment. "Thanks, but there's no reason for us to take the train when we have our own ship—we'll just follow the Log Pose" she declined as she motioned down toward the compass on her wrist.

"Oh, where's it pointing to?" Chimney curiously asked.

"Should be someplace east from here" Nami answered.

"I see—well, in that case, it's Water Seven for sure" Kokoro smiled. "The train you saw on the way here just came from Blue Station on that island, they call it the City of Water, I think you'll like it."

"Water Seven, huh?" Nami questioned.

"With a name like that, it sounds like it might be quite the lovely place" I hummed.

"It is" Kokoro grinned. "They got great shipyards, you might say that that's their claim to fame—when it comes to boats, they're first-class" she proudly boasted. "They're always coming up with some fancy new technology to build boats for the World Government."

"Oh, I bet they are if they're that good..." I bitterly muttered, propping my chin up with the palm of my hand as I thought over her words. I didn't doubt the notion that their shipwrights were truly the best of the best to the point that the World Government would look to them for aid when it came to their vessels. If there's one thing the government never skimps out on, it's their ships.

"Whoa! They must have some awesome shipwrights!" Luffy exclaimed.

"Some? More like damn near all of them!" Kokoro chuckled. "City's like a regular shipwright convention."

"You hear that?" Luffy asked, excitedly looking back at us.

"Yeah" Usopp eagerly nodded.

"Alright then, it's settled, we're going to find the best shipwright in Water Seven and get him to join our crew!" Luffy grinned.

"Oh, is that so?" Kokoro questioned. "In that case, hold on a second" she motioned with her hand before carefully pushing herself to stand. Swaying for a second, she drunkenly stumbled off into the station.

"Where's she going?" Luffy asked.

"Don't know" Usopp shrugged.

"I got a present for you" Kokoro said as she returned, offering Luffy and them a piece of paper. "This is a map of the city and a reference letter, just give this to a fellow named Iceburg and I promise he'll fix your ship up good" she smiled. "Water Seven's a pretty confusing place, be sure not to get lost."

"Looks like I'm keeping a close eye on you then, Zoro" I grinned at the swordsman before squealing at the harsh and almost pinch I received to my bottom. "Why'd you do that?! We both know I'm right!" I embarrassingly snapped at the now-grinning pirate.

"You got a big heart, don't you?" Usopp gratefully smiled as he and the other two boarded the ship. "We really owe you one."

"We'll be heading back to Water Seven soon, so maybe we'll see you there" Chimney smiled back as we prepared to set sail.

"Sounds like a plan to me—and if you like, I can even give you folks a tour of all my favorite drinking holes!" Kokoro offered with a laugh.

"I already know someone who'd enjoy that tour..." I muttered, side-eyeing the swordsman beside me who only rolled his eyes at the remark.

"Sounds good, we'll try to keep a lookout for you" Luffy nodded.

"It'll take about a week for the Log to lock onto the next island, so you'll have plenty of time to do some sightseeing" Kokoro informed us.

"Great! Should be fun!" Luffy grinned. "Okay, everyone—ready? Time to set sail!" he happily cheered as he looked to the rest of us.

"Thanks again for the map and reference letter, I'm sure glad we ran into you on the way" Nami called back as we finally set off.

"It was nice meeting you two" I smiled with a wave.

"Have a safe trip!" Chimney waved back.

"Better keep an eye out for all those government types out there" Kokoro warned with a wave of her own.
