-Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty-Eight-

"Hey, Monster Granny, so is this the fastest the Rocket Man can go?" Luffy curiously asked. "It's not very fast at all!" he pouted.

"Just hold your horses, things will change once we hit the railway" Kokoro assured him.

"Railway? Where is it?" Luffy asked as I curiously peered down at the water. "I don't see it anywhere" he frowned.

"Ah, looks like it drifted a bit, huh?" Kokoro noted. "Listen, I know these Sea Trains like the back of my hand—I'll find the railway, no problem" she assured us. "Found ya!" at that moment, the train violently jerked to the side which caused me to pull away from the window.

"Are you seriously drinking right now?" I asked the moment I looked to Zoro and already found that he had another drink in his hand. "It hasn't even been that long since the last time you had a drink" I softly huffed.

"You seem tense, why not sit down" Zoro suggested as a grin tugged at his lips the moment my face flushed.

"Jerk! You know I can't do that!" I embarrassingly snapped, hand automatically moving to my still sore bottom. It only stung a little now as I rubbed it, but nonetheless, it still wouldn't feel comfortable to sit on.

"Attention, this train will soon be on the railway—once we are, our acceleration will increase extremely" Kokoro warned over the intercom. "Find something to hold onto, so we can keep the injuries to a minimum" she instructed.

"That doesn't really sound comforting" I said.

"A minimum? We'll be injured regardless!" Nami snapped just as the train started to violently shake, jostling us all around as my arms wrapped themselves around Zoro's neck. He only hummed as he wrapped one arm around my waist and continued to drink as if he wasn't bothered at all by the shaking of the train. Soon we were all jolted back just as the train finally made its way onto the railway. Shortly after, everyone piled onto the train—a few extra passengers that had snuck aboard without our knowledge also found themselves on the train.

"I thought I was a goner" Luffy and Chimney panted out once they both were safely back inside the train.

"You almost were! I said if you don't come inside, you're going to get blown away!" Kokoro scolded.

"Yes, but Luffy isn't one to listen to advance warnings" I smiled.

"Whew! That speed was crazy!" Luffy remarked.

"Told ya" Kokoro said.

"He's right, that was rough" the bigger of the two shipwrights agreed.

"Hurt my back" the other one nodded in agreement.

"Hold on a second, there are a few more people than there should be" Zoro said.

"Really now? What made you come to that conclusion, genius?" I sarcastically asked as I leaned back against his chest.

"Yeah, who do you mean?" the two shipwrights curiously asked.

"He means you!" Paulie snapped at the two.

"I mean you too!" Zoro snapped at the blond.

"I decided to come along with you—I tried, but no matter what I said or did stopped you" Paulie sighed. "And the enemy you'd go through—all this to rescue your friend—is the exact same one that tried to kill Iceburg, I got a word or two of my own to say to those bastards" he frowned.

"Yeah, you're not the only one" the big shipwright agreed. "We figured if we snuck onto the train and followed you, we'd be right behind you when things went down with those no-good assassins!" he huffed.

"So, here we are, our hunch was right—let us join you, we want to avenge Iceburg!" the other shipwright begged as he brought a hand up and pressed down on a stray strand of hair that was sticking up. I raised an eyebrow as I watched how the strand only popped back up through his hand.

"Sounds like we all have a common enemy" the strangely dressed man from the Franky Family said. "They're the same ones that kidnapped our Bro, Franky!" he huffed.

"Yeah, he's right, no point in playing dumb! We know exactly who they are!" the square haired woman in pink glared.

"Hey, Galley-La" the square haired woman in yellow frowned. "If anything happens to him, it's going to be on your shoulders!" she huffed.

"Can it! Iceburg's the one that endured the most here!" Paulie snapped.

"Hey, what the heck are they talking about?" the big shipwright asked. "Come on, there's something you're not telling us, Paulie!" he frowned.

"Yeah, it's time to come clean, tell us everything!" the other shipwright demanded. "We need answers, you know who the true culprit is—we're not stupid, you know we have a pretty good idea who it is" he said. "You're not going to surprise us."

"Well, I guess the story about them disappearing was too convenient...fine, I'll tell you" Paulie sighed. "The true identities of those masked men are Lucci, Kaku, Kalifa, and Blueno from the bar—it was them, they're the ones who tried to kill Iceburg" he revealed to the two men before growing irritated when he spotted their shocked looks. "Are you telling me you never even thought of them?!" he snapped.

"You said they went back to their hometowns!" the second shipwright argued.

"Come on, you believed that?!" Paulie snapped as I watched on in amusement as the two men argued their defense—telling the blond who they believed to be the real culprits. "Who the hell are they?!" he asked, not quite knowing the people that the shipwrights were talking about.

"What?! You're kidding?!" the second shipwright gaped. "You've never heard of them? They're pretty famous in the backstreets!"

"Right! Right!" the big shipwright nodded in agreement.

"Why would half the foreman leave in the middle of a crisis?! Didn't—"

"Whew! That really hits the spot, man, I was starving!" Luffy cut the blond off as everyone now directed their attention towards him. "Right, so even though we've gotten in a few fights back in town with both the Franky Family and with the Galley-La shipwrights, the enemy we're all going after here is one in the same" he said. "Now the strongest one, the toughest out of all of them, is definitely pigeon guy—he's mine, I'm going to beat the crap out of him!" he huffed.

"Already decided on that, have you?" I smiled, watching as he firmly nodded.

"Luffy's right, this is a battle to get what those four goons from the World Government took from us, so we either reach them in time or all of this will be for nothing" Zoro nodded.

"Granny, look, it's Aqua Laguna!" Chimney shouted from one of the windows.

"Oh, it's here already?" Kokoro questioned.

"Hey, let me take a look!" Nami quickly opened one of the windows which let in a huge gust of wind that wildly blew her hair around. "Oh no! Hey, shouldn't you be in the engine room right now?" she worriedly asked as she looked back at Kokoro. "You got to find some way to dodge that gigantic wave!" she cried.

"Rocket Man can't be controlled, remember? We can't adjust the speed, use the breaks, or change our course" Kokoro reminded us. "My job ended as soon as I got us up on the railway—the train's running up the track, running at full speed, and there's nothing anybody can do to stop it" she smiled.

"You know, I remember you guys mentioning that this was basically a runaway train, but I didn't expect us to run into problems this soon" I said.

"No!" Nami gasped in horror. "Hey! If we don't do something and fast, this train's going—" she stopped as soon as Luffy suddenly held his arm out.

"Everybody on this train has the exact same goal, there's no point in fighting separately" the rubber man stated as he unknowingly interrupted the navigator.

"Yeah" the strangely dressed man from the Franky Family nodded as he held his arm out for Luffy to grab.

"He's right" Paulie nodded as he took hold of Luffy's arm while the man from the Franky Family grabbed his.

"From this point forward, we fight as one—there are two more of my crew on that other train" Luffy said. "Once we've caught up to them, our fighting forces will be even stronger!" he claimed. "Listen up, we're not going to let that big wave beat us—we will achieve our goal, let's go!"

"Yeah!" we nodded.

"Alright, boys, why don't you show me what you can do about that wave" Kokoro grinned.

"You got it! Fire all cannons—blow it to bits!" the strangely dressed man from the Franky Family ordered.

"Yeah! Cannons are my specialties!" the big shipwright cheered.

"Uh...you all do know that the wave is made from water, correct?" I sweat dropped.

"She's right, it's just water! Don't be afraid, boys, prepare the cannons!" the strangely dressed man ordered.

"That's...that's not what I meant at all..." I mumbled.

"Right!" all the others nodded as they now prepared to do as the man said, but as they were preparing the cannons, a strange noise—like the ringing of a Transponder Snail—suddenly sounded out through the room.

"Oh! The Transponder Snail's ringing" Nami perked up as she pulled the small snail out from between her breasts.

"Did you really have to put it there?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Hey, guys, it's from Sanji!" she exclaimed the second she answered it.

"Nami? Nami, can you hear me?" Sanji asked on the other end of the Transponder Snail.

"Yeah" Nami nodded. "What's going on, Sanji?" she asked.

"I got some bad news, things have gotten complicated" the blond answered.

"Complicated? What does that mean?" I curiously asked as I moved a bit closer to Nami and rested my chin on her shoulder so that I could peer down at the snail.

"Yeah, Sanji, what do you mean?" Nami asked before we all perked up to the loud background noises that were coming from the other side of the Transponder Snail. "Wait a sec, what's that noise? Is someone there with you or something?" she worriedly asked.

"It's nothing, just some dumbass" Sanji grumbled.

"Huh? Say what? Sanji, what's that noise?" Nami frowned. "Sounds like a bunch of screaming, are you okay over there? What do you mean by dumbass?" she questioned.

"Sorry, dumbasses actually" Sanji corrected.

"That still doesn't answer the question" I sweat dropped before my ears perked up to the sound of cannons being fired from outside.

"Bring me more cannonballs!" Paulie ordered as the men rushed back and forth—doing as they were told.

"Got it!" someone from the Franky Family nodded.

"Aim for the center, on one spot!" the second shipwright ordered.

"Hocus Pocus! Give it all you got!" Chimney cheered as Kokoro threw her head back and began chugging down the bottle of alcohol in her hand.

"Yeah, good luck with that" Kokoro slurred as she watched the men with amusement as they ran around. "By the way, the tracks do rise up a bit, but not enough to get us over that wave" she mentioned. "Rocket Man has done pretty well out here so far, but if we get hit, we're finished" she chuckled.

"Does that mean that we're all going to die?!" Chopper cried out.

"No guarantees, I warned ya now, didn't I?" Kokoro questioned.

"I don't want to die!" Chimney cried out as Gonbe quickly nodded his head in agreement.

"I see, they still have Robin..." Nami mumbled as I finally turned my attention back towards her and Sanji's conversation.

"Sounds like things are pretty lively on your end too" Sanji remarked.

"Oh, you have no idea" I responded, watching from the corner of my eye as Chopper, Chimney, and Gonbe now frantically ran around.

"Hey, listen, Sanji—I need to tell you why Robin's doing all this and why everyone's screaming for that matter" Nami said, already starting to become irritated with everyone as I gently patted her back in an attempt to soothe her anger. "Shut up!" she finally snapped at the three running around which caused them to come to a screeching halt. "So, like I was just saying, we found out why Robin's with CP9. We're out here trying to follow her, but things are kind of crazy right now, it's a long story."

"A really long story" I sighed as I listened to the way the men screamed and fired off more cannonballs outside.

"Hey, Luffy" Zoro said.

"Yeah, I know what you're thinking" Luffy nodded as he started to swing his arm around as if getting ready for a fight. "That wave's asking for it, huh?" he muttered as both he and the swordsman made their way outside and to the front of the train where all the others were.

"Sanji?" Nami questioned as the train now started to violently shake. I silently hissed the minute I roughly landed on my bottom before groaning when Nami came tumbling after—landing right on top of me while dropping the Transponder Snail in the process.
