-Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty-Nine-
"It's all or nothing" Kokoro said as the train started to tilt upwards.
"This train is going a bit too fast, don't you think?" I asked as we picked up in speed suddenly. "Like, a lot faster than I think it should" I said, flat on my back and staring up at the ceiling as Chopper and the rest picked back up in their screaming.
"We made it!" one of the men outside loudly cheered which caused a sigh of relief to escape past my lips as I slowly sat up, smiling just a little as I listened to the way everyone outside began to celebrate the fact that we had survived.
"Hey! Hey, Nami? Skylar? Are you okay?!" Sanji worriedly asked as I looked towards the fallen Transponder Snail.
"Yeah, I…I think so" Nami shakily said as she looked towards me for confirmation.
"Yep, just took a bit of a tumble is all" I nodded.
"We survived after all, huh?!" Kokoro laughed. "You pirates' know how to party, keep up the good work!" she grinned. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves, everybody, we're not through the storm yet" she was quick to remind us though.
"Yes, ma'am!" the men outside nodded as their cheering finally came to a halt.
"I'm not afraid of anything anymore!" one of the men shouted.
"Wow, that was really fun!" Luffy grinned as he came back inside through one of the windows.
"I'm sure it was" I chuckled.
"I knew you were strong, but that was something else!" the woman in pink gaped in shock.
"Are you an alien or something? Because that was totally out of this word!" the woman in yellow grinned which caused me to snort at her cheesy line.
"Oops! Sorry about that" Zoro apologized as soon as he came through the window and accidentally knocked Luffy over.
"Luffy, come here a sec!" Nami ordered.
"Huh?" we all questioned.
"Sanji wants to talk" Nami said as she held the Transponder Snail out towards the rubber man.
"That you, Luffy?" Sanji asked once he was certain that the captain had the snail.
"Yep, it's me" Luffy nodded. "What's up? You save Robin?" he asked.
"No, sorry, afraid I'm still working on that one" Sanji sighed. "But Nami just told me why Robin surrendered and all that stuff, so yeah, I know what's going on" he assured us.
"I see, that's good" Luffy nodded. "Well, anyway, you know what's next—go ahead, give them hell, Sanji" he instructed.
"Huh?" Nami questioned.
"Luffy, I don't think that's a good idea" I softly frowned, feeling that it wouldn't be smart to expect the blond to be able to handle an entire train full of government officials by himself.
"Hold on, he'll die if he fights them now" Zoro said. "If he wants to stand a chance, he's got to wait for us—hey, cook, can you hear me?" he asked. "Some of the guys on that train are really tough, you—"
"Zoro" Luffy interrupted. "It's fine—if it was you, would you wait?" he asked. "If you were on that train right now, instead of him, and I told you that Robin sacrificed herself to protect us—would you sit there and do nothing? No use in trying to stop him" he said.
"Look at you, being smart and using common sense" I smiled at our captain, lightly hitting his arm as he smiled right back.
"Read me like a book" Sanji said from the other side of the Transponder Snail. "But, thanks moss head, I never knew that you cared about me so much" he teased.
"I hope they kill you!" Zoro embarrassingly snapped as I laughed.
"Anyways, that settles it, I was willing to fight for Robin even before I knew the truth" Sanji admitted. "But, now that you told me how she really feels, I wouldn't even stop even if you begged me!" he growled.
"I hope he's okay on his own" Nami worriedly muttered when the call abruptly ended.
"I'm sure he'll be fine, just like those two, he can be a beast sometimes" I assured her as I patted her shoulder.
"Granny, hurry! Make the train go faster!" Luffy quickly demanded.
"Faster?" Kokoro questioned.
"Yeah! More like zoom, you know?" Luffy asked as he shot his arm out as fast as he could which caused it to stretch all the way to the other end of the train.
"Oh, don't worry, this baby is already going way too fast than it was supposed to" Kokoro grinned. "In fact, we're going so fast, we can't even stop anymore."
-Later-
"Uh...Nami, where exactly did you find these clothes?" I asked as I came out of the back room and back into the car the others were in. Curiously did I examine the clothes she had handed me and told me to change into—from the black shirt that stopped at my chest with a flowing gray tank top that was light on the top and got darker near the bottom over top of it to the black jeans with black boots that helped complete the look. I soon stopped in my tracks though and blushed as my hands shot up to cover my eyes the minute I saw that the ginger haired woman was still changing…in front of everyone.
"What? Oh, that's not important" Nami waved my question off as she finished getting ready. "Okay, now I'm ready for battle" she smiled as I peeked through my fingers to see her holding up her Clima Takt—now thankfully fully dressed. "What's going on?" she innocently asked when she noted how silent everyone was.
"You can't be that dense" I deadpanned as I looked from her to the three men that had blood running down their noses.
"Don't you play innocent with me, immoral girl! Do you have no shame?! Changing your clothes in front of everyone!" Paulie embarrassingly snapped.
"Shame is overrated!" the three other men exclaimed before finally falling over with looks of bliss on their faces.
"What was I supposed to do? Skylar was changing in the other room!" Nami argued.
"Uh...change in the same room as me?" I suggested as she quickly waved off my answer.
"You're too much of a prude to change in front of me" she huffed
"The fuck you talking about?" I frowned. "We took a bath together back on Alabasta!" I argued.
"That was different!"
"How?! You're just wanting to show off!"
"Enough! Cover up your legs! Cover up your stomach!" Paulie snapped as his face was now tinted a light pink. "That goes for you too, square head sisters! People like you are corrupting society!" he accused.
"Come on, now you're just being silly" I said to the blond.
"Whatever, you're just too shy" Kiwi said as she crossed her arms—I was quite pleased to have finally gotten the names of our new comrades.
"Shy boy" Mozu echoed as the two sisters now pointed at the blond-headed man and teased him for how embarrassed he was getting over the women on this train showing so much skin.
"Why you...?!" Paulie growled.
"Ha! If you fellows like, I can change too" Kokoro teasingly suggested which caused me to snort.
"I'm sure you can outshine all of us youngsters!" I whistled which caused Nami to snicker.
"Please, anything but that..." the three men weakly begged from the ground. "We promise we'll behave" they promised.
"If you don't like mature women, it's your loss" Kokoro chuckled.
"Stupid black shorts with their stupid tiny pockets!" Luffy angrily grumbled as he attempted to shove a piece of meat into his pocket. "Come on, get in there!" he huffed.
"Why? Just...why?" I asked, exasperated as I continued to watch him try and shove something so greasy into his pocket despite having just changed.
"Don't put meat in your pants, idiot!" Nami snapped.
"Nice outfit change, so different from what you were previously wearing" I sarcastically remarked as I pinched a piece of Zoro's yellow jacket between my fingers—noting how that literally was the only difference to his person. Just got rid of the shirt and put on a jacket. "So unique, wow" I muttered.
"You can stop with the sarcasm" he sweat dropped as I smiled up at him.
"I'm starting to think that you might be able to pull this off, you certainly seem riled up if nothing" Kokoro remarked.
"You bet we are" Luffy nodded. "Those jerks got away with Robin last time, but now that I know what's going on, they don't stand a chance" he grinned.
"I hope you're right because if you get stuck in something again, you're going to have hell to pay" Nami frowned.
"Nah, don't worry, I have a reason to beat them this time around" Luffy assured her.
"Uh...right" Nami nodded.
"Hey, did you change your weapon, Nami?" Zoro curiously asked when he noticed how different Nami's Clima Takt looked.
"Oh, no, it's pretty much the same one as before" Nami said. "Usopp just improved it with some dials after we got back from Skypiea, this is the Perfect Clima Takt!" she proudly boasted.
"I see, so that's his?" Zoro questioned.
"I don't think it was a good idea to mention that" I whispered to the swordsman which caused him to raise an eyebrow.
"Right..." Nami nodded before both she and Luffy started to grow depressed at the thought of the long-nosed pirate. "It's Usopp's...uh...last work..." she sadly muttered.
"Don't get all sad now!" Zoro snapped at the two.
-Later-
"Hey, hold on, where did Luffy run off to?" Nami suddenly asked when she saw that she could no longer see the rubber man.
"I don't know, I thought you were keeping an eye on him" I shrugged.
"Beats me" Zoro said.
"Beats me? Come on, you know that idiot, what if he fell into the water or something?" Nami frowned.
"That's impossible, I mean, he was right here up to a few seconds ago" Zoro said. "Right, Chopper?" he asked.
"What? Oh, sure" Chopper agreed.
"This is Luffy we're talking about, that doesn't mean anything—I'm worried because he was here and he's not here anymore" Nami huffed.
"He's not a child, Nami, I'm sure he can take care of himself" I said. "Like at least 0.00001% sure he can..." I mumbled which caused the ginger haired woman to sweat drop.
"Maybe he got stuck in Rocket Man's chimney" Chopper suggested. "It happens, right, Zoro?" he teasingly asked.
"Yeah, isn't that right, Zoro?!" I laughed.
"Oh sure, and choking you happens too!" Zoro snapped before turning his glare towards me. "Stop laughing! You're next!" he growled as I squealed and took shelter behind Nami who heaved a tired sigh and shook her head.
-Later-
"Are we there yet?" Luffy shouted from outside. "Where's Bashing Tom?!" he complained.
"It's Puffing Tom!" Nami corrected as she looked out one of the windows, already annoyed with the rubber man. "Anyways, get inside before you catch a cold! You just changed clothes and you're soaking wet already!" she snapped.
"I don't care, it's more awesome up here!" Luffy childishly refused which caused me to chuckle.
"Nami" I said, resting a hand on her shoulder which caused her to look at me. "There's no point in trying to convince him to come inside, he's not going to listen" I said.
"Fine!" Nami huffed as she angrily slammed the window shut.
"Now, Gum Gum..." Zambai began.
"Three Hundred Caliber..." Lulu started.
"Cannon! Boom!" both men shouted as the others fell over like they were just hit.
"Would all of you stop screwing around?!" Zoro snapped.
"We're bored!" Zambai and Lulu whined.
"Polish your weapons or something—what's wrong with you?" Zoro grumbled as he plopped down on top of one of the barrels, quick in snatching up my waist and pulling me down onto his lap as he did so.
"Uh...yeah, I tried to tell those guys the same thing earlier, but they wouldn't listen to me" Paulie sighed as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Hey, check it out!" Luffy suddenly shouted from outside. "There's a train in front of us!"
"It's the Puffing Tom!" we exclaimed as we stood and now grabbed hold of our weapons—getting ready for a fight.
"Seems a bit early, don't you think?" Kokoro asked as I sweat dropped upon watching how everyone was trying to cram themselves through the same window at the same time.
