-Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty-Three-
"Really now?" I crossed my arms as I gave the masked man a skeptical look.
"I don't get it, but it sounds cool!" Chopper awed which caught the attention of one of the men that surrounded us.
"There's more of them over there!" he pointed out.
"They found us!" Chopper and Sniper King cried out.
"It took them this long to notice that we were here?" I raised an eyebrow.
"There might be more hiding on the train—blow it up!" a Marine ordered as they suddenly took aim at the train.
"Hey, stop! Nami's still inside there!" Sanji snapped.
"Ah, so that's where she is" I nodded.
"Fire!" I winced at the sound of cannon fire, quickly jumping out of the way as Sniper King and Chopper fell to the ground and rolled away from the damage that was being inflicted on Rocket Man.
"Ah! Dammit! If they harmed a hair on her head, I swear—"
"Hold on a second, Pirate A" Zoro held his arm out as he stopped the advancing blond.
"You changed it again?" I questioned.
"What?!" Sanji snapped.
"Nami is a background character like you, it's going to take a lot more than one sorry little bazooka attack to defeat her" Zoro said.
"She's not some character in a fantasy book!" I snapped.
"Listen, you henchman, for the last time—" Sanji was cut off the minute a piece of metal suddenly slammed into his person.
"That hurt!" Sniper King cried out as he sat up before screaming upon discovering that his mask had fallen off when he had rolled away.
"Are you okay, Sniper King?" Chopper worriedly asked after hearing the pirate scream.
"Yeah, Sniper King, how are you holding up there?" I asked as I watched how the crying sharpshooter covered his face and quickly rolled towards his fallen mask.
"Never better, my friends!" Sniper King proclaimed the moment his mask was back on and his identity was hidden once again.
"Whoa! Ceasefire!" a Marine suddenly ordered.
"What's wrong?"
"See for yourself!"
"Hi" Kokoro and Chimney waved as they and Gonbe now stood on top of the damaged train.
"Don't shoot, I'm just an old lady" Kokoro said.
"I'm a little girl with a kitty cat!" Chimney exclaimed as she pointed towards the blue rabbit. "We're too cute to die!" she widely smiled.
"The Straw Hat Pirates threatened to do all kinds of rude, immoral stuff if I didn't operate the train for them" Kokoro lied.
"Those meanies!" Chimney puffed out her cheeks into a small pout before her and the old woman started to laugh.
"What kind of derange monster would take a senior citizen, a little girl, and a cat as hostages?" one of the men asked, sounding almost disgusted with us for taking such "hostages."
"Is it just me or is that smoke forming a cloud?" another curiously asked as my eyes stared up at the large thunder cloud that was starting to take form overhead.
"Using Cool Balls and Heat Balls, I can turn the moisture in the air into clouds" Nami explained.
"Ah, there you are, Nami sweet! I knew you'd make it out okay!" Sanji cooed as hearts started to fly all around him while he clapped his hands together. I only hummed as I walked past the blond and over to Zoro, taking his hand in mine and smiling as he gave it a squeeze.
"So, henchman, if Sanji's Pirate Whatever and Nami's just a side character—what does that make me?" I curiously asked as he hummed in thought.
"My woman" was all he said while flinging an arm around me and pulling me into his side.
"Pfft! That's the best you could come up with?" I chuckled upon hearing the cheesy line.
"Hey, something weird is happening to that smoke cloud thing!" Zambai suddenly pointed out.
"Look! Look, the cloud's growing, Granny!" Chimney excitedly exclaimed.
"It's what?" I asked as my eyes widened the minute I saw just how big Nami was planning on making that thunder cloud of hers.
"It's starting to look dangerous if you ask me, come on, let's go" Kokoro said as she grabbed hold of Chimney who in return grabbed hold of Gonbe before the three ran off.
"He didn't name it the Perfect Clima Takt for nothing, these clouds are growing a lot bigger and faster than before—the question is, how strong are the thunderbolts?" Nami curiously asked. "Let's find out" she grinned.
"Oh no" I paled.
"This is looking scary, guys" Zambai noted. "It's probably better to run, right?" he nervously asked.
"I hope you're ready because here comes the new Thunderbolt Tempo!" Nami sent a jolt of electricity up towards the dark cloud as I watched in slight awe how the lightning that now rained down from the cloud shot out in all directions. Each of them striking everything they could touch, from the men on the ground to the buildings all around.
"Wow!" I whistled, nose scrunching up at the smell of burning flesh as I winced the moment I heard the screams of the surrounding men. Anyone who was lucky enough not to get hit right away, found themselves scampering about in a desperate attempt to save themselves. "Really is much more powerful compared to her old Clima Takt" I remarked.
"Look! Look, you can see their skeletons!" Chimney pointed out as lightning continued to rain all around us—taking note in how the men that were struck by lightning skeletons could now be seen.
"I tell you, that girl is something else!" Kokoro laughed as she held an umbrella up over her and her granddaughter's head.
"Hey, is this umbrella going to protect us?" Chimney curiously asked.
"Sure, we haven't been struck by any of those lightning bolts yet, have we?" Kokoro questioned before her granddaughter screamed in fear as the umbrella was struck. I too found myself scampering around, hand having slipped from Zoro's the minute the first lightning bolt struck the ground as I was afraid of feeling the pain that came with being electrocuted once more.
"You trying to kill me or what?!" Nami snapped as she hit Sniper King once everything started to calm down.
"Nami, why'd you hit Sniper King?!" Chopper frowned.
"I don't know, I felt like it!" Nami growled.
"Don't take it out on me! It's not my fault you don't know how to use it yet!" Snipper King snapped before clearing his throat as he deepened his voice once more. "Besides, Usopp told me he never added a feature like that—either way, that thing is crazy powerful."
"Yeah, you're telling me" I said, looking all around us at the twitching men that laid sprawled out on the ground.
"You beat everyone!" Sniper King gaped as the smoke started to finally clear and show the extent of the ginger haired woman's damage.
"Even our own guys" I whistled as I looked over towards Zoro and Sanji who were both sprawled out on the ground as well—their bodies burnt and twitching.
"Dammit, Nami! What the hell?!" Zoro snapped, angrily shaking one of his swords towards the ginger haired woman as he quickly stood up. "Watch where you aim that thing!" he shouted.
"Apologize to him, Sniper King!" Nami demanded.
"But, you're the one that hit them!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, you apologize, stupid!" Sniper King snapped.
"I haven't felt a shock like that since the first time I met you, Nami-swan!" Sanji swooned as he jumped up, hearts already dancing around him.
"What? Did she hit you with a lightning bolt back then too?" I questioned.
"These pirates are out of control!" a member of the Franky Family gaped as I listened to the argument that had now broken out between our crew.
"It's crazy, I thought that girl was just the navigator, but it turns out she's just as strong as the rest of them!" another one awed.
"Seems like the storm has passed" Kokoro remarked.
"That was awesome, pirate lady!" Chimney cheered as the rabbit beside her nodded its head in agreement.
"Hey, glad to see you guys made it out alive, Granny!" Sanji smiled.
"Ain't no coincidence, seeing how I've lived as long as I have!" Kokoro laughed.
"So, anyway, what about our captain?" Zoro asked as he sheathed his swords. "Any guesses on where he went?" he asked.
"Who knows?" Nami shrugged. "The island's pretty big, where should we start?" she curiously asked as we all looked at one another before a loud crash suddenly sounded out and smoke started to seep out of one of the buildings. "Huh?" she tilted her head as she looked in the direction of the sudden destruction.
"That's got to be where he's at!" we sweat dropped.
"Alright then" Sanji nodded.
"Let's get moving" Zoro motioned as we all started to race towards the building that had been badly damaged in the distance. "I think we should take a right" he suggested after a moment of silence.
"In that case, we better turn left" Sanji said.
"You want to fight about it?" Zoro growled.
"Zoro, honey, you're sense of direction isn't that great" I said.
"It's not that bad!" he argued.
"Just chill, we're just going straight!" Nami snapped.
"If our captain hadn't rushed ahead on his own, we wouldn't be in this little problem right now" Zoro grumbled.
"Well, we're the ones following that idiot around, so what does that make us?" Sanji asked.
"I don't know, dumbasses?" I answered with a small smile.
"Then again, thanks to Luffy, the Marine forces are scattered all over the island" Nami noted. "All we have to do now is head straight for the courthouse" she said.
"His recklessness sure can be helpful sometimes" I grinned.
"Yeah, emphasis on the sometimes part" Nami muttered with the roll of her eyes.
"Oh no! My chronic illness is back!" Sniper King suddenly whined.
"Then stay here and die on your own!" Nami bitterly snapped.
"I'm cured!" Sniper King was quick to exclaim as he straightened out his back and picked up the pace, not wanting to be left behind.
"That's better!" I laughed before my ears perked up to the sound of paws smashing against the ground somewhere close by.
"Hey, is something wrong?" Nami asked as we all came to a halt when we noticed that Zoro had stopped.
"Zoro?" I questioned with the tilt of my head. "You hear it too?" I asked.
"Yeah, looks like we have guest" Zoro nodded as the sounds of paws pounding against the ground got louder.
"We are the Watch Dogs—dogs of the islands front gates!" a man proclaimed as he and two other men appeared, each one of them riding on top of burly looking dog. "You've run ramped for far too long, villains! No criminal shall cross this line!" he huffed.
"What's wrong?" Sanji asked as he looked at the dogs the men were riding. "You guys can't afford horses?"
"Aw, they're kind of cute looking" I cooed as I looked at the canines the men rode, sure they looked a bit mean, but they still were adorable in my eyes.
"Look around you before you mock us, pirate scum!" one of the men sneered as more men appeared—now completely surrounding us.
"Yep, I say they got us surrounded alright" Sanji nodded as he looked around.
"Were they following us this whole time?!" Nami and Sniper King cried.
"It's too late to run away now!" one of the men laughed. "You're finished!" he grinned.
