-Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty-Eight-
"Yeah, bring it on!" Luffy shouted which caused the lavender haired man to scream in fear. "Robin! There's still something I want to hear you say—tell me you want to live!" he demanded.
"Robin" Chopper breathed out.
"Robin..." Nami mumbled.
"Come on, say it" I urged when I saw how she seemed to almost struggle to say the words.
"I want to live!" Robin finally cried. "Take me with you! Take me away from here!" she sobbed.
"Oh, you guys! You're so awesome, I love you!" a blue haired man suddenly cried out, and if I were to take a gander based on the way he appeared to be handcuffed just like Robin, I would assume that he must be this Franky fellow that the Franky Family came here to save.
"Let's go!" Luffy grinned as he cracked his knuckles.
"Look! The draw bridge is lowering!" Chopper pointed out.
"Ah, he's right! Seems like they succeeded!" I smiled.
"Yeah, our reinforcements pulled it together after all, and just in time too" Sanji nodded.
"I'm trembling with excitement" Sniper King shakily said as his body started to violently tremble.
"Come on, hurry up!" Zoro impatiently ordered, ready to get to the other side and start fighting.
"Looking scary there, Zoro" Nami remarked.
"Nah, he's just excited" I chuckled.
"Hey, Robin, we'll save you no matter what!" Luffy called up to the raven-haired woman and I couldn't help but smile. He wasn't wrong, I have faith that we'll save her.
"Stay away!" the lavender haired man cried out.
"They're in high spirits" Kalifa remarked.
"They sure got guts burning down our flag" the raven-haired man grinned.
"They're just idiots, they dug their own graves the second they stepped foot in here" Kaku said.
"Yeah, but they sure got the boss scared" the blond-haired man remarked as he looked to the man that was still screaming and crying in fear.
"No, stay over there!" the lavender haired man frantically screamed.
"What happened? Why did it stop?" Sanji asked when the draw bridge suddenly came to a halt halfway through its descent—smoke now leaking from it.
"Either a malfunction or the Marines had something to do with it" I suggested.
"Damn those Marines, they really piss me off!" Luffy growled. "Stop getting in the way!" he angrily snapped.
"We got it, Chief Spandam! Evacuate the Tower of Law!" Central Freeway shouted from below.
"Good work! Also, good advice!" Spandam nodded. "This should buy me enough time to get to the Gates of Justice, alright—move it!" he snapped as he roughly grabbed hold of Robin. "Somebody grab Cutty Flam and bring him too!" he ordered.
"Robin!" Chopper worriedly cried out.
"They're nobodies, just a bunch of scum!" Spandam sneered. "As I have CP9 here, I'm practically invincible! Better yet, I got the only person who can revive the ancient weapons, Nico Robin!" he boasted as he started to laugh. "Not to mention, the man who inherited one of their blueprints, Cutty Flam! I'm not letting this slip through my fingers—I'll crush as many pirates as it takes!
"What? What the hell is that?" his laughter was abruptly cut short when he suddenly spotted that Franky—or was it Cutty Flam?—was holding up some papers. "Is that...? No, it can't be! Those aren't the real blueprints for Pluton!" he gaped.
"Oh, they're real—don't believe me?" Franky questioned. "Lucci, Kaku, you guys can tell, right?" he asked as he opened the blueprints up and started to flip through their pages. Showcasing to the government agents their drawings and writings as if to confirm that what he had in his hands was the real deal.
"Suppose we should have seen this coming..." Kaku mumbled. "If you could hide soda and weapons in your body, you could hide blueprints just as easily" he sighed.
"So, they're real?!" Spandam gaped as he reached out a shaky hand. "They're really real?! That's great—then hand them over!" he was quick to demand like a spoiled brat quick to demand that another child give them their sweet. "Saves me the trouble of searching for them!"
"Nico Robin" Franky said as he suddenly turned his attention towards the raven-haired woman. "I got to admit, the rumors I heard about you were about as wrong as they could be—while the government was dragging us to this crap hole, I realized that you aren't the monster that's going to use the ancient technology for evil" he admitted. "I know the shipwrights of Water Seven have been passing down these blueprints from generation to generation, but we're not going to revive a weapon. Hey, Spandam, the reason why Tom and Iceburg risked their lives to protect this is simple" he said as he turned his attention back towards the lavender haired man.
"Just give me the blueprints!" Spandam impatiently snarled.
"If an ancient weapon fell into the hands of some power-hungry dumbass like you, who knows what might happen" Franky scoffed. "In other words, the shipwrights passed this blueprint down to create a possible countermeasure against another weapon—now I agree that Robin's a dangerous woman. As long as people like you are around, even if she has the best intentions, her knowledge could still be used to wreak havoc on the whole world" he pointed out. "But now she has friends who are willing to risk their lives to make sure that never happens and I think they're up to the job, so I'm making a bet, now that everything's gone to hell.
"I have to get a little creative—if I'm going to uphold the wishes of the original architects" he said.
"Just shut up and hand them over already!" Spandam snapped as he was already starting to grow more and more impatient with the man the longer he talked. "Those blueprints are mine!" he screamed, only to be taken aback when the blue haired man suddenly held the blueprints high and breathed fire onto them. "What the hell are you doing?! No! My dream, it's be burned to a crisp!" he cried out in horror.
"We've spent five years on our mission for this?" Kalifa asked, almost sounding distraught.
"Looks like all that time you guys spent on your mission was for nothing" the blond-haired man scoffed as he looked at the woman.
"The only reason we were keeping those blueprints was to create a countermeasure" Franky reiterated. "So if you took them away, that would defeat the purpose—now that it's come to this, destroying them is all I can do" he admitted. "But I'd rather sacrifice my own plan than help you with yours. If you end up making a weapon, after all, we won't be able to fight back anymore and that's possible if you're able to take Nico Robin to the Gates of Justice. Everything's resting on the Straw Hats, and if they're able to get her out of here, then you'll be left with nothing at all.
"I placed my bet, I think they can do it" he grinned.
"You've made a mockery of me for the last time!" Spandam sneered. "Laugh it up while you can because you're not leaving this island alive!" he screamed.
"Big Bro, hurry! Look!" Zambai suddenly shouted up at us from below. "We're all down here, Big Bro!" he continued to shout as he waved his arms in an attempt to catch the blue haired man's attention.
"Look, guys, Big Bro's right over there!" a member of the Franky Family shouted.
"That means we're not too late!" another cheered in relief.
"Oh! You're right, I can see him!" Kiwi shouted.
"Don't worry, we'll save you no matter what!" Mozu assured the blue haired man.
"We came with the Straw Hats!" Zambai shouted.
"Sodom and Gomorrah fought hard too!" a member shouted up to Franky.
"We're all going home together! I promise!"
"They didn't hurt you, did they?!"
"What?! No way! Ah, dammit, you guys!" Franky gawked at the sight of the group. "I didn't ask you to save me! I didn't ask you, but you still came!" he cried as if their gesture of coming here to save him had touched his heart. "I'm not crying, you hear me, you bastards?! I'm not crying!" he sobbed.
"Shut up! That's enough!" Luffy angrily screamed.
"Whoa! Luffy, calm down!" Nami, Zoro and I exclaimed, taken aback by the captain's sudden anger.
"Robin's waiting! Hurry up and bring down the bridge!" Luffy impatiently ordered.
"Oh yeah, right—what the hell are you waiting for?!" Zoro snapped.
"No kidding" Nami frowned. "Get moving already! Don't make me come down there!" she threatened.
"Uh...yes, ma'am!" Zambai nervously saluted.
"Wow! Nami, you're sexy when you boss people around!" Sanji swooned.
"Is now really the time for that?" I sweat dropped.
"Hey, Straw Hat" Franky suddenly spoke up. "Thanks for helping my men while I was gone, but now that the gangs all here, the one and only Franky will show you how super his gratitude can be!" he grinned.
"I don't need your help, I'm still mad at you for what you did to Usopp! So don't think we're friends!" Luffy snapped.
"He's...uh...right beside you, ain't he?" Franky sweat dropped which caused me to chuckle.
"Cutty Flam, how dare you burn my blueprints!" Spandam snarled. "I'm going to make you pay!" with that proclamation, he suddenly rushed forward and harshly pushed the blue haired man off the tower.
"Ah! Bro!" Zambai screamed in shock.
"Big Bro's falling down the waterfall!" the Franky Family cried out in horror.
"Franky!" Sniper King worriedly shouted.
"Hey, Straw Hats, listen up!" Kokoro suddenly ordered from the Transponder Snail that Nami still had on her.
"Huh? Granny Kokoro?" Nami questioned.
"I almost forgot we didn't hang up the Transponder Snail" I said, just now remembering that the old woman's been listening in this entire time.
"I heard everything, why are you all just standing around?" Kokoro asked.
"We're not standing around—the bridge is broken, there's no way over!" Nami argued.
"It's halfway down, isn't it? That's more than enough" Kokoro said. "Hang on, I'll be there in more than four seconds" she assured us. "Just jump into the waterfall, give it all you got, trust me" she instructed.
"Monster Granny, what did she say?" Luffy curiously asked.
"Well, you know, she said to jump in the waterfall" Nami answered.
"What? Why?" I frowned. "That'll kill us."
"I don't know, she just said to trust her" Nami shrugged.
"Look! It's the Sea Train!" Luffy suddenly pointed out the minute we all heard the sound of the Sea Train's engine.
"Hey, what's with that devious chuckle?" Sniper King nervously asked the minute he saw the grin that tugged at Luffy's lips.
"Hm, I think the captain has a plan" I hummed, watching as Nami and Zoro's eyes widened the minute they took notice in how the rubber man's arms stretched all around us
"Let's go!" Luffy grinned as he jumped down and dragged all of us with him. Immediately did I cling onto his arm and screw my eyes shut as I desperately attempted to ignore the fact that we were falling from such a high height. "Robin, wait for us!" he shouted over Nami, Chopper, and Usopp's screams. I dared to peek an eye open to see just how close we were to death when from the corner of my eye I suddenly caught sight of Rocket Man riding up the half-raised bridge and straight towards us.
"It's flying?!" the Franky Family gaped just as we all smashed into the top of the train while Franky was hit head-on by the bent nose of it.
"Ah! Please go away!" Spandam screamed from above.
"Waterfall!" Chimney laughed, her head poking outside one of the windows of the train. Tightly did I cling onto Zoro, burying my face into his chest as Nami and Sniper King screamed at the top of their lungs. Softly did the swordsman pat my back and murmur comforting words to me as he held onto both me and the top of the train to make sure that we didn't go flying off.
"We're going to crash!" Luffy panicked the minute he saw that the train was heading straight towards the wall of the tower.
