-Chapter Two Hundred and Forty-Four-
"Why are they attacking their own crew?" the wolf asked. "Doesn't make any sense" he grumbled.
"I don't know, they're really getting on my nerves though" Kaku frowned.
"So, Kalifa was the one that had the key" I said, watching as the cuffs fell from Zoro and Sniper King's wrists—any anger I had before now disappearing after the navigator had finished explaining her reasoning behind the attack she had Franky enact on Chopper.
"Seems so" Nami hummed as she watched the two flex their now free hands, both looking quite pleased with the fact that they were now free from one another.
"You finally managed to free yourselves, huh?" Kaku questioned.
"You better stop laughing and start running" Zoro warned. "You blew your chance to kill me, and you're not getting another, it's my turn and I'm taking you all down—the entire World Government" he threatened.
"Come on!" the wolf guy grinned, already getting excited once more for the fighting to start back up.
"We've wasted quite a bit of time here" Kaku said.
"Damn right you have!" Nami snapped. "I can't believe you two, how could you be screwing around at a time like this?!" she scowled.
"Because he wouldn't stop acting like an idiot!" Zoro and Sniper King shouted, childishly pointing fingers as if trying to shift the blame onto each other without owning up to anything themselves.
"You're not children, stop blaming each other!" I snapped.
"You're both acting like idiots, hurry up and get those keys!" Nami growled.
"Tempest Kick!" Kaku was the first to attack which caused Nami and Sniper King to start screaming.
"Oh, come on! Let's not start that back up now!" I snapped at the two.
"Straight Line!" the giraffe sent his attack hurtling towards us, but before it could hit or do too much damage, Zoro deflected it.
"Just as I instructed, nice going, Zoro!" Sniper King grinned.
"Fight, Zoro!" Nami cheered.
"You guys are fighting too!" the swordsman snapped before suddenly directing his attention towards me. "I thought I told you to go somewhere safe!" he scowled.
"Sorry, honey, but I'm still in fighting condition, and I'm not sitting this one out this time" I grinned. "But thank you for your concern, it's sweet knowing you care" I softly teased, watching as he blushed a little.
"You're so stubborn" he grumbled before his lips tugged up into a small grin.
"I know" I chirped as the swordsman turned his attention back towards the giraffe.
"That long neck of yours sure looks like a weak spot to me" he remarked before he attacked.
"Sorry, but that's were your wrong" Kaku said as he dodged Zoro's attack. "The abilities I've gained allow me to freely control my neck with ease, plus I have a new attack—Nose Pistol!" he shot his head forward as Zoro's swords were quick to move and block his squared nose before it could strike him. My hands instantly went up upon the sudden gush of wind that blew by from the two clashing against one another.
"Whoa! We're all the way over here and I can still feel the shockwave!" Sniper King gaped as Zoro tossed the giraffe back and towards a nearby rock.
"A square-shaped hole?! That's an impressive nose, even more so then Sniper Sopp!" Nami gawked the minute she saw the hole that the giraffe had made with his nose after his attack missed.
"Never thought I'd see the day when a nose was more impressive than his" I whistled.
"Sniper Sopp? What the hell?!" Sniper King snapped. "And lay off the nose, got it!" he huffed.
"At any rate, looks like Kaku really gained the hang of using his Devil Fruit abilities—fast learner" the wolf remarked from his spot right next to us.
"Alright, wolf, I'm the one you got to deal with now! So, bring it on!" Sniper King proclaimed, puffing out his chest as his body was already starting to shake like a leaf.
"Huh? Don't get so worked up—listen, you guys want to save your friend, right?" the wolf asked, raising his hands as if attempting to silently tell us that he surrenders.
"Yeah, that's right, and I'm going to take your key to do it!" Sniper King nodded before being taken aback when the key was suddenly tossed towards him, just landing right in front of his feet.
"Then go save her while you still can" the wolf told him, already trying to shoo him away.
"What?" Sniper King asked.
"You heard me, take that key and go save your friend" the wolf reiterated as he continued to just wave the sharpshooter off.
"Uh...I don't get it, why?" the long-nosed pirate tilted his head as I started to feel uneasy.
"Something's wrong..." I mumbled. "This doesn't seem right" I said, recalling how this man had been excited this entire time to kill us all, but now he suddenly wanted us to go and save our friend without a second thought. Why the sudden change in heart? None of us have said or done anything to warrant this sudden change in behavior from him.
"Yeah, I'm not feeling too sure about this guy" Nami muttered as we now watched him with cautious eyes—watching how he showed no signs of moving or even getting ready to attack, in fact, he looked like he didn't really care what we did as he stayed right where he was.
"I don't like killing people, the sight of bloodshed makes me sick to my stomach" the wolf admitted. "I'm a pacifist" those words left a bitter taste in my mouth the moment he said them, said them with such utter ease as if it was the truth despite all his actions up to this point saying otherwise. He was a wolf and wolves weren't well known to be pacifists.
"Oh...uh...okay then? I'll…I'll just...uh...take this key and…uh…" Sniper King didn't really know what to say, practically stumbling over his words as he started to bend down and reach for the key.
"Sniper King, wait!" I shouted, startled the minute I saw the agent's relax posture change entirely as he now looked about ready to lunge at the sharpshooter.
"No, look out!" Nami gasped.
"Ten Finger Pistol!" the wolf lashed out, digging all ten claws into the long-nosed pirate's stomach without any hesitation. "Never let your guard down, I'm a wolf, understand? I outsmart my prey and then I eat it!" he snarled before throwing the masked man to the side, bursting out into a fit of howling laughter as if he believed that what he had done was the funniest thing in the world.
"Usopp!" Nami and I cried out, worriedly using the man's actual name this time as we quickly rushed to his side.
"Hey, Usopp! Come on, are you alright?!" I worriedly asked the minute I knelt by his side—wincing at the sight of the wounds in his stomach as blood continuously leaked from the freshly made holes in his overalls.
"That mask can't hide your stupidity!" the wolf mockingly laughed. "Why don't you just run around screaming and crying like you did earlier?! You were great at that!" he snickered.
"Hey—"
"Don't you make fun of me!" I was cut off by Sniper King as he slowly and shakily started to push himself up into a sitting position.
"Huh?" the wolf questioned, not expecting the sharpshooter to snap back.
"We don't have time for crap like this!" Sniper King frowned as he lifted his Kabuto and took aim. "New weapon, Kabuto, Special Attack: Sunflower Star!" the pellet he shot towards the wolf split into five other pellets which all exploded the minute they neared their target.
"Wow! A firework show!" the wolf whistled as he now stood beside us, having dodged the attack.
"No, Usopp!" Nami and I cried when the long-nosed pirate was harshly kicked back down by the predator.
"Moon Walk!" the wolf started to jump into the air before disappearing and reappearing in front of Sniper King again, harshly smashing him into the ground before repeatedly hitting him over and over and over without showing any signs of stopping.
"Leave him alone!" Nami snapped.
"Stop it!" I growled as we both rushed towards the wolf. In return, the wolf smashed his fist into the ground—the force knocking both Nami and I off balance as cracks appeared in the ground and dust kicked up into the air. "Shit!" I harshly coughed as I sat up, waving my hand around in an attempt to clear the dust that floated around in the air.
"Just like I promised, I'll kill you quickly" the wolf smirked as he held up Sniper King. "There won't be any pain, it's too bad really, you were so much better off when you were connected to that green haired shepherd over there" he motioned towards Zoro before raising a clawed hand. "Since this little lamb has wandered off on his own, things are a bit different—now you're nothing but a tasty morsel for the big, scary wolf! This is the end!" he grinned.
"Let him go!" Zoro shouted as he continued to block the giraffe's attacks. "Damn wolf!" he snarled.
"Don't hurt him! Stop it! Please, I beg you!" I desperately begged, practically scared to move and no doubt so was Nami—the sniper was in a dangerous position and there were no guarantees that if we attempted to rush forward to help that the wolf wouldn't just kill him in a heartbeat before either one of us could even think to attack.
"Please, don't kill him! Keep your key—we don't need it!" Nami cried.
"You stupid girls, you both are going to be the next ones to die!" the wolf mockingly laughed.
"Tempest Kick!" Kaku was quick to stop Zoro from making his way towards us—quick to stop him before he even had a chance to rush at the wolf.
"Oh no!" the swordsman grounded out as he dodged the attack, distress clear on his face when he realized that the giraffe wasn't going to let him so easily abandon their fight.
"And now, it's over!" the wolf snarled as he brought his clawed hand down.
"Usopp!" Zoro, Nami, and I screamed—all of us fearing for the sniper's life. But before the wolf's attack could fully hit, a foot was suddenly smashed into his face and sent him flying as Sniper King crumbled to the ground.
"Who the hell are you?" the wolf frowned, shaking his head as he tried to gather his bearings after a sudden attack like that.
"I'm the hunter" Sanji glared.
"It's Sanji!" Nami brightly smiled.
"Thank goodness you got here in time" I sighed in relief as a small smile tugged at my lips.
"Sanji...?" Sniper King weakly asked.
"How did you get your body back to normal?" Nami asked which caused me to tilt my head in confusion.
"Back to normal?" I echoed with a raised eyebrow.
"Some big bathtub fell from the sky and smashed into pieces, water went everywhere, it must have broken the spell" Sanji answered.
"Okay, now I'm lost" I frowned.
"But, more importantly, Nami—will you just fall in love with me all over again?!" Sanji suddenly asked, wiggling around in excitement as hearts flew everywhere.
"I wish that bathtub had dropped right on your head" Nami grumbled as I sweat dropped. "Nose Sopp" she said as soon as she saw that Sniper King was sitting up—going back to referring to him by that nickname of hers now that she knew he wasn't in any danger.
"Now it's to the point were not even Sniper or King is in my name, huh?" Sniper King sadly sighed. "I'm sorry, Sanji—I…I tried, but I couldn't..." he trailed off as his head drooped.
"You're alive, that's what matters" Sanji said, not even bothering to hear out the sniper's apology. "Everyone has things that they can and can't do" he said.
"Yeah, but…" Sniper King trailed off, not really knowing what to say.
"All three of you, take a look outside" Sanji said.
"Oh no!" Nami cried out the moment we peeked outside through the giant hole that Chopper had left behind. "It's the Gates of Justice!" she gasped.
"They're starting to open!" I gaped the moment I saw that the large gates were already slowly beginning to peel open bit by bit.
"Robin!" the ginger haired woman worriedly cried out.
"If those gates open up and Robin goes through...then we won't have any way to follow her, she'll cross waters infested with Sea Kings and beyond that is either the underwater prison or Navy Headquarters" Sanji said. "Everywhere beyond those gates are out of reach, we'll lose her forever" he reminded us.
"But, I thought Luffy would have caught up to her by now" Nami frowned as Zoro blocked another attack that was sent his way by Kaku.
"Perhaps there were some complications" I muttered as I nervously bit the tip of my thumb.
"In hindsight, picking me as your opponent wasn't the best idea, now was it?" Kaku asked. "From the looks of it, I think you would have been better off fighting Jyabura" I could only assume that was the wolf's name.
"No, I'm happy that it's you" Zoro admitted.
"Huh? Feeling a little cocky, are we?" Kaku questioned.
"This is the worse situation I could imagine! But in every situation, even as bad as this, there's always a chance" Sanji assured us.
"Sanji?" Sniper King questioned.
"Leave this guy's key to me" the blond huffed.
