-Chapter Two Hundred and Fifty-Two-
"Hm?" Luffy curiously tilted his head as his interest was now piqued.
"On the other side of the Red Line, at the far reaches of the ocean, is the place that few pirates or Marines have ever seen—they call it the New World" Coby said.
"The New World?" I mumbled as I raised an eyebrow, my eyes stinging as I blinked them, already did they feel dehydrated from the tears I had shed earlier.
"The New World?" Luffy seemed to echo, speaking much louder than I had.
"There's a new era coming and the people who can guide it are gathering on those seas, they say the one who can master those waters will become King of the Pirates" Coby explained. "And I believe that one of these days, you and I will meet on those waters. When that time comes, I'll be even stronger—strong enough to catch you because I promised myself that I'll keep trying" he admitted. "Until…until I become a Marine Admiral!" my smile dropped at those words, not wanting to think back on the conversation shared between Robin and me just moments ago. "No!
"I'm sorry, I got carried away!" he quickly apologized as he stumbled back until he fell on his ass. "Ugh...this is so embarrassing, I just want to dig a hole and bury my head in it—that was really arrogant of me, I got worked up after seeing you again and I just…" his face was flushed with embarrassment as he continued to ramble.
"Coby, you said you're going to fight me, right? Then you will become that strong, you'll have to!" Luffy grinned.
"Yeah, but a Marine Admiral…" Coby trailed off as I tensed up, I really don't want to hear that word right now after everything Robin and me had just talked about. But I quickly calmed down a bit the minute I felt Zoro take my hand and gently rub his thumb against the back of it as if he had just known that I was becoming distressed and was in need of comfort.
"Next time I see you, we're going to be stronger too—a whole lot stronger!" Luffy boasted, causing me to smile as I watched how the pink haired teen's eyes watered upon hearing the rubber man's words.
"Look at that—turns out you're still a crybaby after all, huh? Coby?" Zoro teased as the man wiped at his eyes before quickly bowing before the two.
"I'm truly grateful that I was able to see you again today!" Coby smiled. "Just you wait, we're going to get tougher and tougher! You'll see, next time when we all meet in the New World, farewell!" and with that, he ran away.
"Hey, wait! You two better prepare yourselves because Coby and I are going to blow you away! You hear?!" Helmeppo huffed as he quickly ran after the pink haired man. "Coby, slow down!" he shouted as he tried to catch up with his friend.
"I can't slow down, I'm going to run all the way to the New World!" Coby called back to the blond.
"What?! You lost your mind!" Helmeppo exclaimed.
"They sure seem lively!" I laughed.
"Well, Luffy, you've done it again—you found another powerful rival for our crew to fight" Zoro grinned.
"If Coby says he can do it, then I believe him!" Luffy happily laughed.
-Later-
I lightly kicked my feet in the cool water of the pool, silently listening to Nami and Chopper as the two played around in the water. My fingers carefully and gently tugging at the bottom of the one-piece bathing suit I wore—it was white with black polka dots and, embarrassingly enough, I feared that it was a bit too short even though it fit quite comfortably around my body. Hugging my curves in all the right places.
"Looking good, has Zoro seen you yet?" Nami whistled as she shot a teasing smile my way the minute she got a good look at the bathing suit I was in.
"Shut up!" I embarrassingly snapped, cheeks flaring up as I listened to the way she burst out laughing before she continued to play around with Chopper.
"Nami, sweet! The Water Water Meat is ready!" Sanji cooed over to the ginger haired woman.
"Okay!" Nami called back just as Kokoro came bursting out of the water.
"Looking good!" I whistled, clapping my hands the minute I saw that she was in her mermaid form.
"Granny, that was awesome!" Chimney cheered.
"That meat sure smells nice" Kokoro grinned as I stood up, shaking the water from my legs before walking over to where Zoro was currently seated.
"I know, now say "ah," my sweet" Sanji gave a closed eye smile as he held out a piece of meat towards Nami, only to have Kokoro eat it instead.
"Hey, Sanji, this is yummy!" Luffy called over to the dejected blond as he stuffed his face full of as much meat as he could.
"Yummy! Water Water Meat barbecue!" Sniper King drooled as he seemed to stuff his face as well...when did he get here?
"Sniper King, where'd you come from?" Zoro asked as I laid myself down on his back, arms wrapping around his neck as I leaned forward until I could snag a bite of his food.
"Looks like he came for the food" I said. "Don't blame him, it's good" I said as I stole another bite of food from the swordsman.
"Eat all you want, I don't care anymore!" Sanji depressingly cried.
"What the hell are you crying for?" Zoro raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not crying! I just got smoke in my eye, that's all!" Sanji defended.
"Sure, that's it" I chuckled.
"So how is it, Robin? Nice and juicy, huh?" Sanji asked, quick to turn his attention towards the raven-haired woman as I yelped the moment I was flipped over the moss haired man's shoulder and pulled onto his lap.
"Yes, it's heavenly" Robin complimented.
"What about you, Skylar?" Sanji eagerly asked, turning towards me only to quickly grow irritated as he glared at Zoro who wore a smug smirk while I stole another piece of food from his place.
"It's great, Sanji" I answered which caused the blonde's irritation to melt away as he brightly smiled at my praise.
"You know you can get your own plate, right?" Zoro raised an eyebrow as he watched how I continued to pick and steal small bits of food from his plate.
"I could, but it's just so far away—I can't reach" I said, just barely reaching out my arm in some half-ass attempt to make it seem like I was actually trying to reach for a plate of food myself. A wide smile soon tugged at my lips the moment I heard the swordsman snort.
"Look, it's them!" Zambai shouted as he and the rest of the Franky Family came rushing towards us. "Hey, Straw Hat, are you finally awake?!" he asked.
"Hey, it's the Franky Family! Get over here and eat!" Luffy grinned as he waved at the group to come and join us all.
"Barbecue time, boys!" Zambai cheered.
"We got too many guys and too little meat, somebody, go get some more!" Luffy demanded just as the ground started to shake.
"It's Sodom and Gomorrah!" Chopper brightened the minute he spotted the two King Bulls.
"Hey, save some for me" a giant I didn't recognize said.
"Me too" another piped up from beside the first giant—they must have been the mutinous giants from Enies Lobby that had been mentioned.
"Guys, over here! Hey!" Sniper King waved at the two.
"Straw Hat, feeling better now?" Tilestone asked as he and the other shipwrights now made their way towards us.
"Galley-La's here too?" Luffy questioned.
"Seems like everyone's joining in on this party" I remarked.
"Who said you could use the company pool anyways?" Paulie frowned. "Put some clothes on, geez!" he snapped the minute he saw Nami, before swiveling his head in my direction when I started to laugh. "You too!" his cheeks flared up as he now looked between the two of us, flustered by the sight of the skin we both were showing.
"You've never seen a swimsuit before?" Nami questioned as she looked towards the embarrassed blond while Zoro only hummed, pulling me closer towards him now as his hands rubbed at my sides and he seemed to really examine the bathing suit I was in.
"You look good" he purred in my ear, nipping just slight at the earlobe as my cheeks flared up.
"We're in public! The least you can do is control—where are those hands of yours going?!" I embarrassingly snapped as I felt his hands start to snake down towards my bottom.
"Well, something smells delicious" Iceburg remarked as he came towards us, now joining in on the party that was happening.
"Don't look, sir! This perverted harlot is going to corrupt your eyes with her filthy body!" Paulie embarrassingly shouted as he now held a towel in front of Nami as if desperately attempting to hide her body from the eyes of the mayor.
"Really now?" Nami irritably questioned.
"Yeah, you perverted harlot, cover-up!" I laughed as Nami shot a glare towards me.
"Least I'm not letting myself be molested in public" she shot right back with an innocent smile.
"S-shut up!" I embarrassingly snapped.
"I'm not molesting her!" Zoro defended as his arms wrapped around me and held me close to his chest.
"We can't take a break once we start building the ship" Mozu explained to us as she came walking towards us along with her sister.
"That's why we're going to get all our partying done right now, I know you guys sat aside a seat for me" Franky grinned, following closely behind the two women.
"Because Big Bro's the star of the show!" Kiwi cheered.
"We're glad you could make it, Bro!" Zambai brightened at the sight of the blue haired man.
"Alright, let's rock! How would you like to hear Sniper King's number one hit?!" Sniper King excitedly asked.
"Yeah! Party time—yeah!" Luffy cheered. I couldn't help but laugh at how loud and hyper everyone was getting, from the men that surrounded Nami as they showered her in compliments to Usopp and Franky who were both singing to their hearts content while Chopper was tossed around by Sodom and Gomorrah. Sanji was still happily cooking away, pleased to be able to serve so many people—though he mainly looked more or less pleased to be serving the women more than the men.
"Would you keep it down?!" Zoro snapped at some of the men as he snuggled closer to me, trying his best to relax and enjoy the drink in his hand. Things didn't seem to start to calm down until the sun started to set and everyone began to feel tired, but they still continued to party on like it was nothing. A yawn slipped past my lips as I leaned back against Zoro and watched as Sniper King regaled Luffy with one of his stories. Such a sight was enough to bring a smile to my lips as I closed my eyes, now letting my body sway from side to side as I softly hummed to myself. "You seem tired" the swordsman hummed, resting his chin against my shoulder as he swayed along with me.
"Not like we've been partying for hours or anything..." I tiredly mumbled, peeking an eye open as I turned my head to the side and pecked his lips. He only hummed in response before grabbing my chin when I was ready to turn my head away from him and pressed his lips against my own in a gentle kiss that lasted a bit longer than the peck I had given him.
"Hey, Robin! Check this out!" Luffy called over to the raven-haired woman.
"Hurry, Robin! Look!" Chopper excitedly urged.
"Robin!" Luffy whined before turning around and making a stupid face that caused both Chopper and Sniper King to die of laughter. I softly chuckled at the sight, smiling when I heard Robin give a small laugh.
"Seriously? Could you guys grow up already?" Nami frowned.
"Whatever, you were stuffing your face a second too!" Luffy argued. "You want to try?" he suddenly asked.
"As if!" Nami scoffed, my smile widened as I watched how the ginger haired woman attempted to now pry the chopsticks from Luffy's face with Sanji's help and it wasn't long before Chopper and Sniper King were quick to join in as well. Zoro only gave the three a bored look, chugging down the rest of his drink before slowly becoming irritated with the ruckus they were making.
"You got to admit, it's hilarious!" I laughed as I looked up at him.
"Whatever..." he grumbled before leaning down and resting his forehead against my own, gently rubbing our noses together as a small smile tugged at his lips.
"Hey, Robin" Luffy smiled when he noticed that the raven-haired woman was making her way over towards us.
"Maybe I should try that myself" Robin chuckled.
"Yeah, Robin, do it! Do it!" Luffy eagerly nodded.
"You're a bad influence, Luffy! Don't encourage her!" Sanji scowled.
"You just cook the meat, don't tell us how to eat it" Luffy huffed at the blond which caused me to snort. It wasn't too long before the sun completely disappeared and was replaced by the moon. Some people had already changed out of their swimsuits and back into the clothes that they had been wearing earlier today—mainly me—as we all now watched the fireworks that were being set off and listened as Sniper King still continued to sing. I boredly laid across Zoro's lap, listening to him as he drank as much alcohol as he could with Tilestone and Lulu.
"If all you're going to do is drink, then I'm going to go bother Nami and Robin" I mumbled, attempting to get up only to yelp as I felt his elbows rest on top of my back and hold me down.
"Nope" he chuckled. "That idiot cook's over there, don't need him gushing all over my woman" he grinned as a blush dusted over my cheeks.
"Fine" I grumbled, before smiling a little as I felt him lightly pat my back before he continued to drink.
"Come on, let's go! Don't slow down now—this party's just getting warmed up!" Luffy cheered.
-The Next Day-
"I don't get it, the Franky Family really wrecked up the place" Zoro said as we all stared down at the newspaper that relayed the events of Enies Lobby.
"Maybe your grandfather pulled some strings and told them they were just innocent bystanders" Sanji suggested.
"Nah, that's way too complicated for him" Luffy waved off the suggestion.
"Yeah, what Luffy said" Nami and Chopper agreed.
"That was a bit harsh, don't you think?" I sweat dropped.
"At any rate, that's good for them—obviously we're criminals, but I would hate to see anyone get wrapped into this mess and have their whole lives ruined" Sanji said.
"Well, good thing you feel that way because they had plenty to say about us" Zoro said as he tapped a finger against the newspaper. "A declaration of war on the World Government, they even blame us for burning down the island—I guarantee our bounties are going to go through the roof after this one" he said.
"Well obviously, though it doesn't surprise me that they'd blame us for the island's destruction" I said. "It'd just make them look bad if people knew a government official fucked up and issued a Buster Call by accident on the island plus the fact that said Buster Call failed to eliminate such a small pirate crew" I hummed.
"Oh my gosh! Does that mean I'll finally get a bounty?!" Chopper excitedly asked.
"Maybe, you'll probably get something" Sanji shrugged as I patted the top of the overly happy reindeer's head. "But mine's going to be the big one this time, a bright star appears—right?" he grinned
"What are you excited about?! This is terrible news!" Nami snapped.
"Oh, come on" I said. "We're pirates, this was bound to happen sooner or later" I was quick to raise my hands in defense when the ginger haired woman suddenly shot her glare towards me.
"Hm? Franky's building us a ship and we don't even have to pay for it?" Luffy brightened after we relayed to him what the blue haired man had told us.
"Right, you were asleep when he said that" Sanji said.
"Awesome! I guess Franky's not a jerk after all, Franky's a nice guy" Luffy smiled.
"I can't wait to see how it turns out" Chopper said as Luffy continued to happily babble on in the background.
"Good, now we can use the rest of our money to buy supplies for the voyage" Nami nodded.
"Hope this one's equipped with a weight room" Zoro said.
"That would be nice" I nodded in agreement, pleased to have somewhere I could do my stretched other than the deck—it was also going to be nice to finally have Zoro's weights all in one place instead of him just leaving them lying around like he usually does.
"As long as it has cannons, I'm happy" Luffy said. "The bigger the better" he grinned as Nami made her way over to the safe that we had safely kept the rest of our money inside, only to get her head stuck the moment she shoved it fully in there as if in an attempt to get a closer look at something. "Wow! That's some dance!" the captain whistled as he watched how her hips wiggled around while she desperately tried to pull her head free.
"Huh? So that's what it is?" Chopper questioned with the tilt of his head.
"Shake those hips, Nami!" I whistled through my laughter.
"Shut it!" she snapped the moment she pulled herself free. "Now, what happened to our 100,000,000 belis?!" she asked through clenched teeth, giving a strained smile that made me seal my lips and slowly back away.
"Oh? That? I already spent it all—we needed to buy lots of meat and booze for the party" Luffy truthfully answered her.
"Spent it?! You spent all of my money!" Nami screamed.
"Well, everyone was really hungry!" Luffy argued before whining as the navigator began to beat on him with the safe.
"How could you spend so much on food?!" Nami snapped. "There's hardly anything left!" she scowled.
"Of course, there isn't! The whole town was partying with us and they didn't go home until morning—remember? Sure was fun, huh?" Luffy laughed before whining as the woman continued to beat up on him. "Since the ship's free, we'll be fine—so no worries, right?" he asked which only further angered the ginger.
"I just wanted nice furniture for the ship—is that so wrong?" Nami sadly muttered as Robin and I comforted her.
"We can still check out the resale shops" Robin suggested.
"Yeah, the furniture may not be all the great, but at least it'll be cheap" I nodded.
