-Chapter Two Hundred and Fifty-Four-
"What?! We're finally going to Fishman Island—really?!" Sanji excitedly asked as his one visible eye turned into a heart.
"Whoa! Sanji's acting weird!" Chopper exclaimed, taken aback by the blonde's sudden change in attitude.
"When doesn't he act weird?" I raised an eyebrow. "I assume Fishman Island would be a pervert's wet dream with all those mermaids around" I said, listening as Kokoro chuckled.
"Fishman Island, huh? That's tricky" Nami softly frowned.
"Yeah, I guess so, is that going to be tough after what happened in your village?" Luffy asked.
"They were pirates, not all Fishmen are going to give us trouble like that" Zoro said.
"See, everybody knows Fishman Island is awesome—even Zoro, and he's stupid" Sanji said as he spinned around in excitement. "Fishman Island is one of the most famous spots in the whole Grand Line—beautiful mermaids leap and dive painting the water with their elegant tail fins, there you can frolic with the fish and make all your dreams come true!" he dreamily sighed.
"He has quite the way with words when it comes to beautiful women" I sweat dropped.
"Wow! For real? Neato!" Chopper awed as Kokoro laughed which gained the blonde's attention.
"Let me dream, dammit! I'm not hurting anyone!" Sanji dejectedly cried as he suddenly remembered that Kokoro herself is a mermaid.
"Sanji! That's rude!" I scowled
"Relax, there are young mermaids too!" Kokoro snapped at the blond. "The thing is, even if the place is nice to visit, that doesn't mean it's easy for people to get there" she told us.
"I assumed that was the case since it's at the bottom of the sea" Robin said.
"Would be pretty difficult seeing how none of us can actually breathe underwater" I nodded.
"Eh, we'll figure it out on the way" Luffy said, waving off our worry.
"Well, on the way is a problem too" Kokoro said as she threw down a newspaper onto the table. "Take a look at today's paper and you'll understand" she said as she motioned for us all to take a look.
"Huh? What is this?" Nami curiously asked as she peered down at the paper. "Fourteen ships have disappeared this month alone, all in the same place—I don't understand" she frowned.
"Fourteen?" I questioned, now taking a look at the paper as well.
"They call that patch of water the Florian Triangle, anyways, you won't be making it to Fishman Island until after you sail through there" Kokoro explained. "Every year, over one hundred ships go missing in that area and nobody has a clue as to why—what's spooky is that later they show up totally empty without a single crew member insight, other people say they found ghost ships with crews of men wandering the ocean, lost in a haze" she said.
"You mean they're like zombies?! Scary!" Chopper cried.
"Scary? That sounds awesome!" I sparkled at the thought.
"Hanging out with a bunch of skeletons sounds cool!" Luffy grinned which caused me to laugh as I quickly nodded my head in agreement.
"Hanging out? That's some imagination of you got there" Zoro said.
"No way! No ghost ships for us—not on my watch! We're passing straight through that place!" Nami wildly shook her head. "I mean, what really happens in there?" she curiously asked, desperately wanting a logical explanation to what she had just heard.
"Who knows?" Kokoro laughed with a shrug. "After all, nobody ever comes out of there alive and dead men tell no tale! I'd be careful, the water's dark, the fog is thick, it swallows you up" she warned which scared both Nami and Chopper as the two held onto one another, both now crying.
"Wow, looks like you have them both scared to death!" I whistled. "But seriously, this place sounds so interesting—can you tell us more?" I eagerly asked.
"Interesting?! What's wrong with you?!" Nami snapped.
"Many of the souls have been sacrificed to that treacherous sea, so you better be darn ready before you even think of setting sail" Kokoro said.
"Although, some people do call them ghost ships, abandon vessels are often called treasure ships too" Robin pointed out. "We're more likely to find a ship filled with riches then the undead" she assured us.
"Yeah, let's hunt down those ghost ships!" Nami suddenly cheered.
"Alright, leave it to me" Luffy nodded.
"No, but I don't wanna!" Chopper cried.
"Boo!" I playfully frowned as I gave a thumb's down. "Riches sound nice, but the undead sounds better" I snickered as Nami began to hit the top of my head.
"I'll stock up on plenty of food and water before we go, so even if we do get lost, we'll be fine" Sanji said.
"A treasure ship, huh?" Zoro questioned. "I wonder if they have swords" he pondered.
"Hey, pirate people!" Chimney shouted as she and Gonbe threw open the doors and came rushing inside.
"Straw Hat!" Kiwi and Mozu exclaimed as they came barging in—falling to their knees and panting as if they were out of breath.
"Need something?" Luffy asked.
"Franky wants to talk to you guys—he's got something big to show you!" Mozu proclaimed.
"It's been a long night, but they finished his ship of dreams!" Kiwi exclaimed.
"And boy is it super cool!" Chimney widely smiled.
"Huh? You mean it's done already?" Luffy questioned. "That was really fast" he whistled, amazed with how quick the shipwright had been to build his ship of dreams when it hadn't been that long since he told us he would.
"Of course, that's what happens when the best shipwrights in the world work around the clock!" Mozu proudly boasted.
"You better believe it!" Kiwi nodded.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Sanji grinned.
"Yeah!" Chopper excitedly nodded.
"I'm excited to see how it turned out" I smiled as we all started to make our way outside.
"Straw Hat, we got bad news!" we heard Zambai shout the minute we stepped out the door.
-Everybody's P.O.V-
"Oh hey, guys" Kiwi greeted as she watched the rest of the Franky Family come rushing towards her and the others
"What's going on? They look upset" Mozu remarked.
"I wonder what's wrong" Kiwi tilted her head as she watched Zambai finally drop to his knees in front of them.
"To be honest, we just found out about this ourselves" Zambai panted out, clearly sounding out of breath due to all the running he had to do to get here and reach them all in time before they left. "Have you seen the wanted posters?!" he urgently asked.
"Wanted posters?" Luffy questioned.
"They've already been released?" Skylar inquired.
"You got a huge bounty on your head, Straw Hat! They're going to hunt you down for sure, actually, you've all got bounties—the whole crew is wanted!" Zambai exclaimed.
"Doesn't surprise me, we all did cause enough damage for the whole government to warrant a bounty on all of us" Skylar said, not all that surprised that every single member of the crew had ended up with a bounty on their head.
"Took long enough, how much?!" Sanji eagerly asked, growing excited at the prospect that he now had a bounty on his head.
"Not me too!" Nami's eyes widened in horror upon hearing this.
"I'm wanted?!" Chopper questioned in shock.
"No point in talking, just look!" Zambai shouted as he slammed down eight wanted posters for the whole crew to see. "Wanted posters for all eight of you! Straw Hat Luffy with a bounty of 300,000,000 belis" he read.
"Alright, it went up!" Luffy laughed as he threw his arms up in the air, happy to hear that his bounty had gone up.
"Pirate Hunter Zoro with a bounty of 120,000,000 belis" Zambai read which caused the swordsman to smirk as he proudly puffed out his chest when Skylar patted his shoulder, pride swelling up inside of him upon seeing how happy the brunette looked for him. "Cat Burglar Nami with a bounty of 16,000,000 belis" the raven-haired man continued.
"No!" Nami cried out in despair.
"Cotton Candy Loving Chopper, pet, with a bounty of 50 belis" Zambai read.
"What an adorable picture!" Skylar cooed as she stared down at Chopper's wanted poster, smitten by how adorable the animal looked in his picture.
"Fifty?" Chopper sadly questioned.
"Demon Child Robin with a bounty of 80,000,000 belis" Zambai said which caused the raven-haired woman to softly smile. "Sweetheart Skylar with a bounty of 25,000,000 belis" Skylar felt her lips twitch upwards as she stared down at her own poster, not really sure if she should feel excited or upset that her face was plastered on a wanted poster and was now going to become easily recognizable.
"25,000,000? Not that bad" she said as she placed her hands on her hips while Zoro threw an arm around her and pressed a kiss to her temple—looking pleased with her bounty amount. It was a decent amount for her first bounty she felt.
"Cute picture too" Zoro mumbled, looking at the surprised expression that she wore in her wanted poster picture as if she had been taken off guard the moment the picture had been taken. Indeed, the man who had taken it had taken her by surprise as shown by the slightly wide eyes and parted lips as if the flash had startled her and almost put her in a daze like she hadn't known what to do at that exact moment. Robin stared down at the wanted poster, silently doing the math of adding the brunette's bounty to the reward money from her missing children's poster—adding the 25,000,000 reward to the 475,000,000 reward...the teenager now had a hefty amount of 500,000,000 belis over her head. But the question is...if someone were to turn her in, would they really receive that much money? Would the government and let alone the Admiral really hand over such a hefty reward to the soul that brought him back his future successor?
What Robin now knew of Skylar's father...she had no doubts the man would find ways to avoid paying the reward money. She had no doubt that the only reason why the reward money on her brothers and her missing children's posters was so high was solely because the man was attempting to tempt and use other people's greed to get them to be more willing in finding his children and bring them home to him. Most missing children were never found or returned home due to how the reward was never something outrageous, never something that would last people more than for a few weeks—especially noble children, they either remained lost, return home on their own, or wind up kidnapped for ransom. Varen made sure that the reward on his children's head would satisfy the greedy desires of the filthiest of the people in the world so he wouldn't have to deal with any such problems. Robin felt almost sick to her stomach thinking about how desperate the man seemed to be to want his children back...to want back the property he had so sorely mistreated all because he needed his successor.
-Skylar's P.O.V-
"Who is that?" Sanji asked as I now curiously took a peek at his wanted poster, hand flying to my mouth in an attempt to stop myself from laughing.
"Black Leg Sanji, attempt to take a photo failed, bounty of 77,000,000 belis" Zambai read as the blond seemed to just grow depressed.
"I mean it's…it could be…if you just look on...I have nothing to say that can make this any better for you" I admitted, failing at trying to comfort the mourning blond, unable to find the right words that would help brighten his mood.
"Hey, look, Sniper King has one too!" Luffy grinned as he pointed towards Sniper King's bounty which was only 30,000,000 belis.
"Only fifty?" Chopper sadly repeated as he now seemed to grow depressed himself.
"Well, I know that this is probably big news for you and all, and I'm sure there's a lot of pirate stuff you want to talk about" Zambai said as he scratched the back of his head. "But...uh...hold on a second" he said as he pulled out another wanted poster and showed it to us. "I came here cause I got a favor to ask of you guys—take a look at this!"
"It's Franky" Luffy said, recognizing the blue haired man on the poster.
"Cyborg Franky with a bounty of 44,000,000 belis" Zambai read.
"This is awful! Big Bro's wanted by the World Government!" Kiwi gasped.
"What are we going to do now?!" Mozu worriedly asked.
"Yeah, that's the question—I was happy when I found out we didn't have bounties, but then this had to happen" Zambai sadly nodded. "Everyone in the whole city knows about our Bro, he can't stay in Water Seven anymore" he said. "And if he gets arrested again...I don't think we'll have the power to save him like last time, but I'm sure he's worried about us too! Knowing him, he probably wouldn't leave the island no matter how much we begged him—that's why we came to you! We have no choice, we're begging you here, Straw Hat!
"Even if he tries to fight, you got to take our Bro out to sea with you—come on! His parents were pirates, it's in his blood!" he desperately begged.
"Please, Straw Hat!" one of the other members of the Franky Family also begged.
"All we want is what's best for our Bro!"
"Please, you got to help him!" they all begged.
"Come on, you guys don't have to beg, I already decided I was going to make him my shipwright" Luffy smiled.
"You mean it? And the rest of you are okay with that too?" Zambai hopefully asked as he looked at us.
"Ugh...I don't care anymore" Nami depressingly mumbled, still torn up over her bounty.
"Of course" Robin smiled.
"We've needed a shipwright for a while now and Franky seems like a pretty neat guy, he's perfect for the crew" I chirped as I crossed my arms behind my back.
"Well, there you have it" Zoro grinned.
"Thank you! Now that they agreed, it's time to move—come on! You know what we got to do!" Zambai shouted as he stood up, motioning for the rest of the Franky Family to follow him.
"Yeah!" they all cheered as they were quick to follow.
"But wait, where are you going?" Kiwi asked.
"Yeah, Scrap Island is that way, remember?" Mozu questioned.
"I can't tell you, I'm sorry, but we got some dirty business to do!" Zambai shouted back to the two women. "You're better off not knowing, Mozu, Kiwi—thank you for all you've done!" he waved.
"Alright then, just to make sure we're all on the same page about Usopp" Zoro said once we were all back inside and had our things gathered up.
"Yeah" Luffy nodded as Sanji, Nami, and Chopper were all still depressed over their wanted posters.
"This is about doing what's right" Zoro said.
"I know, let's move, you've been depressed for long enough" Luffy told the three.
"Shut up! Why is mine the only one with a drawing?!" Sanji snapped as he angrily held his wanted poster up.
"Gets me every time!" I wheezed at the sight of the drawing, hand clutching my stomach as I bent down and slapped a hand on my thigh as I tried so hard to get my laughing under control.
"Who cares about the picture? You've got a bounty!" Luffy brightly smiled.
"Who is this?! Huh?! Because it's not me!" Sanji snapped.
"I thought it was a photo 'til you said something" Zoro remarked which caused me to laugh harder as Sanji started to babble incoherent words to the swordsman. "Who has a handsome face again?" the swordsman sweat dropped.
"All the women in the world are going to laugh at me!" Sanji wailed as he dropped to the floor in a depressive state once again.
"You already have one laughing at you right now it seems" Zoro grumbled, grinning as he wrapped an arm around my waist the minute I rested my forehead against his shoulder while still attempting to get myself under control and catch my breath.
"I'm sorry, Sanji, I can't help it—it's just so bad!" I cried with laughter.
"Ugh! That guy lied to me, he said he was a reporter for the local paper!" Nami frowned as she looked down at her wanted poster.
"At least they told you in advance, some guy just ran up to me while yelling "cheese" and then took my picture—almost gave me a heart attack" I said, finally calming down from my laughing fit enough to properly speak.
"Having a bounty kind of stinks, but on the upside, the picture turned out pretty cute" Nami said as she examined her wanted poster some more, seemingly pleased with the picture that they had used.
"I fought like a true man back there! I'm a pirate just like all the rest of you—and what do they mean by pet?! I'm a doctor!" Chopper wailed.
"Well, try harder than" Luffy said.
"Hurry up, Straw Hat! What are you doing in there?!" Mozu shouted from outside as we all finally left.
"Don't you want to see your ship?" Kiwi asked. "Can't keep Big Bro waiting" she said.
"I know, I know—welp, hope we're not forgetting anything" Luffy said.
